1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 10, 2017, 10:06:59 AM
How to determine what is bitcoin choose e-wallet if they do not misleading? The price in the purse is worth BTC. Maybe altcoins from BTC-splitting can be used only those who kept their savings offline on the computer?

Some e-wallets (eg. Coinbase) will have just destroyed or taken for themselves the BCH that you should've been entitled to. That's partly why we've been warning people to exit hosted wallets. Some others might still credit you your BCH later.

1. If I import the private keys from my old, now-empty Bitcoin wallet into the new Bcash wallet, does this mean that the my new Bcash wallet will have the old BTC addresses, which are now empty?

They will be the same addresses. On the Bitcoin network and in a Bitcoin wallet, they will be empty. On the Bcash network and for Bcash wallets, they will still have the same balance that they had around 14:00 UTC.

2. If someone were to send me BTC to my old BTC address, I could still use my old wallet to retrieve those coins, right?

Yes, you should in that case open the wallet in Bitcoin wallet software again. A Bcash wallet won't see those transactions.

I recommend phasing out your old addresses, since I don't trust the security of Bcash wallets that you'll be giving your private keys to. If it would be difficult to phase out your old addresses, then I don't particularly recommend using this method of claiming your BCH. Other methods that don't involve giving your private keys to a Bcash wallet will become available in the coming weeks.

So my question is; would they honor by giving me bch or bcc which ever they are distributing out to the holders of bitcoin at the time of the split?

The exact moment of the split was not 12:20 or 14:00, but sometime between those. I haven't figured out yet when the exact split time was, though. I think that 12:22 was probably pre-split.

I wish I acted sooner so I can get the BCH I'm entitled to but because my bitcoins were stored on blockchain.info and coinbase, the online wallets must have blocked the BCH I'm entitled to as a result of the hard fork (creating BCH).
2  Economy / Services / WTS My signature on: June 12, 2017, 04:31:28 PM
Hi,I'm looking for individuals or companies willing to rent out a line of my signature in exchange for BTC,ETH,LTC or even GBP (via PayPal) of around £50 equivalent a month as I want to build a collection of both virtual currencies and help me fund my upcoming feature film which will be filmed in select cities worldwide after we finish the UK filming dates.

Who's interested? If one person wants to buy all 3 lines of my signature that'll be great. Smiley

Please stick to replying to this thread for making offers so it's easier for me to reply to you,as I don't like checking in several different places to see your comments Smiley
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: If Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom, what would you do next? on: June 12, 2017, 04:21:14 PM
Invest money into other cryptocurrencies and also buy up lots of bitcoins at the same time,as Bitcoins can sharply grow in value again.

Just waiting for the next great crash so I can buy them all up. Smiley
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which smartphone do you use and why? on: June 12, 2017, 04:05:27 PM
I use an iPhone because it looks swag Wink
lol thats also the main reason i use an iphone  Cool

Me too, except I got fed up with androids constantly breaking down on me and those were the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S5 models (went to iPhone after this as got fed up with multiple breakdowns and too many software issues within a year).
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Your Plan for the Future? on: June 12, 2017, 04:03:42 PM
What are your plans for the future, in 5 years, 10 years etc.? What do you intend to do and what interests do you intend to pursue?

Great question.I have many goals and dreams I want to do within the next 10 years. These are:
1.Find a great GF/woman
2.Finally get a job in TV as that's my dream since I was 16
3.Have a great career
4.Travel all over the world and live in other countries for a while.
5.Get a nice place to live in a nice neighbourhood where people share the same interests as me (like travel, art, culture, somewhere that nurtures creativity, has the best places to go to)
6.Have some kids (I think 1's enough)
7.Get a nice car (as that's a great magnet to finding nice women)
8.Be successful in life
9.Make a lot of money though my career and my part-time trading of virtual currencies and other things
10.Finish my feature film which could be a worldwide success but needs some funding.Hope the community here can help me? Smiley

That's it for now.
6  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is this girl? She is perfect, isn't she? on: June 12, 2017, 03:58:34 PM
She's pretty hot isn't she? How did you meet her? As that will help you find some clues.

Since it looks like she's promoting an event,I'd recommend searching for Bitcoin related events online as I think you'll have a better chance of finding her (and maybe sending her some fan mail to begin with).

Hope things work out for you Smiley

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me import my dogecoin private keys on: June 12, 2017, 10:33:16 AM
I'm afraid you have no other choice than use the app that created this unusual wallet file.
Borrow Android device from one of your friends/collogues, somebody around you have to have one.
Other option is to use good, trusted escrow to import this wallet in to his device and just send you the coins, dogechain fees are small so not to much loss in the process, of course some escrow fee must be considered.
Or you can just wait Smiley doge will spike again ( in like 5years  Roll Eyes ) In this case download this app and store with your wallet file, who knows, maybe it will be removed from store in the future.

Thanks for letting me know about my options. This wallet app has generated a rather unusual wallet file.Looks like I need to find a reputable escrow who can get the Dogecoins off of this and send it back to me after the escrow fee is taken off.

Know anyone who has an android device that can install the app, then import this file into the app and use my password to open it and then send the coins back to my new address?

In the meantime I'll be looking around for a second hand cheap android smartphone that can run this wallet.

I've used android emulators on my mac but they all keep crashing and don't let me access the Play store and again I don't have a PC to hand (not sure if bootcamp can help here?)

Thanks for your help everyone,it seems there's no other way than either getting an android smartphone to open this wallet or ask an escrow to do so for a fee. Smiley
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me import my dogecoin private keys on: June 12, 2017, 10:15:59 AM
Hi,
I used a wallet on my old android phone for dogecoin as at the time (in 2014) I thought that a smartphone would be faster and more convenient than having to bring a heavy laptop with me everytime I needed to access my coins.

I'll keep this to the point since I've looked everywhere else online and couldn't find a solution specific to the wallet I originally exported coins from, into a standard wallet now:
1.I used this app originally https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.langerhans.wallet&hl=en_GB on my smartphone
2.I then exported it as a password protected file.It wasn't a wallet.dat file as I thought it would. It just says this:"dogecoin-wallet-keys-2014-04-25" and I still have the password with me so that's not the issue here.
3.I've since tried to import to wallets made recently such as Dogecoin core 1.10,MultiDoge (latest version) and Exodus (latest version) but to no avail as all of these wallets expect either a wallet.dat file or a .keys file,I have neither of those files and the changing file extension trick didn't work (as the apps said they couldn't be read, even when I entered my password)
4.I'm posting this on here after a long break away from this forum as I don't see any reliable tips on other sites I looked at (dogecoin forums, reddit dogecoin subreddits) and I'm hoping someone on here can help me find something to get that wallet open.
5.I remember seeing around 56K dogecoins in that wallet. Thanks to the sharp rise in value of BTC,ETH and LTC,I also heard that dogecoin will follow the same direction as it seems all cryptocoins that were created earlier but largely forgotten about until now are rising in value.

Is there anyone who can help?
Thanks Smiley

Do you have the apk file of that android wallet?

I don't have access to the .apk file for that wallet. Im sure that if you had an android smartphone/tablet,you might be able to see inside the file once you download it from the store.

I only downloaded apps from the Play store, never as .apk files from third party sites.

Since July 2015 I've moved over to the iPhone as I prefer it's simplicity over other platforms but that's just my view. Not here to start once of those android vs iPhone debates as we've seen enough of them already.

13  Economy / Services / Re: I want to Advertise my site, on blogs, news, sites, etc. For Bitcoin on: July 24, 2016, 03:54:10 PM
Site: http://www.whyfuture.com/

The ads:

Sizes of 728X90 & 468X60

Info: I am looking for advertising my blog on any of your sites, shall it be a blog, news, sites, etc. For good rates for 2 weeks to a month.
Post your offers below

I'm keen to help you with your promotion.Sorry it's been a long time since I was here but I was so busy making my independent feature film that I forgot to visit once in a while.I could earn a few BTC to help me along.

What can I do? I'd like to promote this in all 3 available signature slots in addition to social media and even word of mouth promotion (that costs extra as it has to be worth my time).

If you want just my 3 signature slots with nothing else, that'll cost you 0.20 BTC

If you want the whole package including social media and word of mouth promotion it'll be at least 0.5BTC but that's because some people I know are fairly influential. I'm looking to raise some funds to help me produce my film as every bit helps.Maybe I should just post a thread on this forum instead? Smiley

14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: February 08, 2016, 01:50:46 PM
I think the US needs gun control but that must also extend to more rigorous background checks, closing loop holes so that people with issues don't get access to weapons (such as convicted criminals, kids, teenagers, people with mental health issues or anger issues, stalkers, suicidal people, etc).I think the issue of gun control needs to adopt a more comprehensive approach for it to be successful.I live in the UK where people are banned from having guns which I think is good.No approach will eliminate murders completely but I believe it's important to try to address this issue however we can instead of just opposing measure that some people just don't like.

I think if people want to own a gun, stop complaining about gun control and pass a background check like everyone else and leave the rest of us to get on with our lives.Just my opinion.
15  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Will promote a message or link on my twitter feed [available] on: August 03, 2014, 04:38:19 PM
I've got news for you.Everything's ready (for quite a while) so if interested please ask me for a quote for your promotion needs.
16  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Rent one line of my signature each for 0.25BTC month on: August 03, 2014, 04:27:57 PM
I'm dropping my price to 0.21BTC per signature line since I would like to get them both sold off quickly for one month. If you want 2 days of promotion on Twitter as well with your signature ad,it'll cost 0.30BTC (to make this worth my while.I also sell my twitter promotion services on eBay now since I wish to expand the business too).

Anyone interested? Smiley
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Please stop with mBTC, microBTC, ...! on: July 15, 2014, 11:08:40 AM
Just use BTC or satoshi (0.00000001) like in:

I just bought a car for 10 BTC!
The new Final Fantasy game will cost only 15000 satoshi!

Using mBTC, uBTC, μBTC is just unnecessary, sounds like a different coin and it will confuse a lot of people.

Coinedup and a few other sites are guilty of using mBTC.

1 satoshi is the smallest unit of BTC that's all people should have to learn. If you want massive user adoption you have to simplify things.

The use of terms like mBTC and uBTC does put me off of using BTC more widely in my day to day life as I can never understand what these terms mean.I always preferred just using Bitcoins or BTC (eg if an item costs me 0.30 Bitcoins,I'd prefer to be told in terms of 0.30BTC,not any of this mBTC stuff as I just can't understand how much things actually cost otherwise and I would feel misled/overcharged in a transaction with BTC otherwise).

The use of such terms im my view should be curbed completely if we are to improve adoption among the wider public and clean up BTC's image (any thing that seems to mislead end users due to uncertainties will cause further problems on top of all the previous scandals BTC has had.)

18  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: July 12, 2014, 05:32:51 PM
One can only hope that crypto thrift grows and thrives unlike bitmit!

problem with cryptothrift they dont do much in marketing and getting themselves out there, they need someone and something that can make them different.
If cryptotrift are looking for help with promotion, why not refer them to me since I have a paid for twitter promotion service? As I'm frustrated with the high fees on eBay and would want an alternative to replace them as a seller. Smiley
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Be co-owner of the first community owned cocktail bar in the world! on: July 07, 2014, 04:47:41 PM
I'm interested in knowing more about this as it seems to be a growing business. Can I buy some of the shares via PayPal since I can't sign transactions with my main address (as the wallet is based online rather than a wallet on my mac meaning I can't sign with client) as well as having returns sent to this (within the recieve limit, after I reach this,I'll make use of bank transfer/BTC afterwards)?

Is this registered on stock exchanges in real life (not based on BTC) as I have more confidence in businesses based on these exchanges as well as being more familiar with buying/selling shares (just ask my bank to do it on my behalf and take care of it all for me.I want a set it and forget it solution) like NYSE or any other exchange?

Thanks Smiley
