No use trolling this thread, he is probably gone to the next username by now.  Undecided

This guy (OP) has probably disappeared long ago. :/ Man this thread reeks of a scam.No effort into the game at all unlike my Dream Islands lotto where things are much better (the link in my sig) which is also not meant for a scam of any kind.
563  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BITLOTTO] NEW: Customize payment address! May 2 was *386 BTC* Next draw June 1! on: May 25, 2012, 07:19:38 PM
I think you should still include the bitcoin address and ticket prize in your post to make it easier for people to take part after seeing your post.

I for once will buy more tickets. I love the transparency of it.
The transparency is good on here.My lotto is also good in this way.Only one week left to enter if interested. Read the thread in my sig. Smiley

I recently won the lottery in UK (small prize of £3 as a runner up).If I can win that lottery,so can you with this lottery. Smiley

I don't see the resemblance. Definitely not the same person.
Ok.Thanks for the feedback.I just mentioned that to show an example to the OP that the community has been scammed before with loans that don't work out to be honest.
567  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for merchants like you to start selling on & automated trusted website! on: May 22, 2012, 11:15:19 AM
Can digital goods be sold on your site?

As long as you own the rights to sell it yes. That means no torrenting ebooks or software then selling them. I will have a terms of services that will have a list of related items and services that are not allowed but for now just use a general rule of thumb as "You are not allowed to sell anything considerably illegal in your country or your senders country to your awareness."

Ah excellent.I can do whatever I like as long as it's legal to sell from my country (UK).Mostly stuff like stock photos/sounds/video and other assets that are related to one of my films in a way (as a way to raise funds for future projects).I should start expanding what I can sell.

568  Economy / Lending / Re: need TODAY 5 btc please, back tomorrow 6,50 btc on: May 22, 2012, 11:10:11 AM
Looks like OP needs something to prove his case.A little advice:When asking for short term loans as a newbie, you can expect people to give you a hard time at first due to the fact that this community has been scammed so many times before (I got scammed myself once as a lender).
Also evidence you can offer:
1.show on your head pic (if you are comfortable with this,if not/or you think it's stupid, please read on)
2.A scan of ID/Passport (assuming you haven't lost it of course)
3.Collateral (This is so that in case you default, the lender can recoup the losses,if you repay successfully, you get this back.Agree the terms with your lender)
Also this loan request sounds oddly familiar with this guy (who later scammed me): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81777.0

Justice has been done,so I'm not really that worried about it really.

I wouldn't say so. He himself was not punished for the crime, his account was merely labeled "scammer". He can, and probably will, create another account and repeat the process.

Obviously it's still not ideal that I lost 4BTC to his but I have to accept that on this forum, this is the best that I can get.Labelling his as a scammer would however have little effect as they can just create new accounts and repeat the process as you say.It seems to me that either some form of centralisation is necessary to track scammers if IDs are somehow known or maybe the whole decentralise thing may not be up to the task (just my opinion, please no trolling me just for my opinion) of stoping people being scammed. I'm curious to know the difference between centralisation (pros and cons) and decentralisation (pros and cons) as i hear those terms thrown around a lot on here.Any advice will be useful thanks.

My first bf, and current friend is from Louisville, so I've been there a few times. There IS stuff to do. When I went there, I ended up taking him and his wife on a tour of places they didn't even know existed. But it's so... empty feeling. It's too bad, really. The city does look like it's trying to provide culture and entertainment. It just doesn't look like there are enough people interested Sad Maybe it was just a dead season every time I visited.

Fuck the hotel concept. Let’s get into something much more fascinating. Explain how your first bf’s wife doesn’t mind your past relationship with her husband. That has the potential for at least 10 pages and possibly a mini-series.

Easy. I am married to someone else, and have absolutely no interest in my KY friend for anything other than friendship. I do try to stay friends with everyone I've had a long term relationship with, and have helped them out when they needed it. And, since I'm not a threat of any kind, she doesn't care. Some people ARE capable of carrying on mature relationships, AND not all girls are crazy.
That aside, please stick to OP topic.

That’s a great group of intellectuals you are a member of because I’ve never seen a situation like that where natural human traits don’t apply. Congratulations to you for finding the few people on the planet who are that emotionally sophisticated.

BTW: I did stay on topic. I said fuck the hotel concept. It’s useless here. Unless one of your sophisticated friends happens to be Paris Hilton with money to throw away no one here would ever fund an enterprise that large because they would do a research survey first and discover its shortcomings. Even if they did build it I don’t think many people here would use it. People in Japan respect each other and human life is valuable there. That is a stark difference from the valueless perception this country places on human life even in a city that is as safe (comparatively speaking) as Louisville is today. There is too much crime here to be that exposed and we are too shallow to put up with that much inconvenience.

Japanese people don’t murder each other like we do and are more over crowded than we are. The homogeneity of their people allows them to see each other as connected. We do not have that luxury. U. S. citizens act more like a massive collection of warring tribes that hate each other but choose to live under a continuous armistice. That’s the reason crime in this country can’t be stopped, it’s the reason that we believe controlling other countries views with force is acceptable, and it’s the reason not all foreign business concepts will work here.

It's not because the Japanese are better people it’s because they are all the same people and are well trained to respect each other by a governmental culture that doesn’t have a blanket policy of savaging the rest of the world for its own gain.

Very true cornedhashbeef.Japan seems to place a higher value on life than US. I do wonder how crime in Japan is so much lower than US and UK? I'm curious about UK to Japan comparison because reports say we have far less gun crime than US.I always wondered why (apart from the obvious about gun restrictions.I wouldn't call that a total ban though because sporting clubs can get one with a licence).I also hear Norway fares pretty well in terms of very low crime compared with UK/US. I do think people should do their research for which business ideas work and which don't as it'll save a lot of frustration later on.
572  Other / Off-topic / Re: I wonder if this could work.... on: May 20, 2012, 07:47:58 PM
I'd be interested in seeing how this idea pans out OP.A capsule bunk? Back in UK there is no such thing. I usually thought that only Japan has them.Question is how would you make sure that the bed bugs wouldn't be a bother (new change of sheets/pillows)? I can see this being more successful in some parts of Europe (like that futuristic hotel in Germany I saw once on the click TV show once shown in UK I think or was that another TV show I forget the name of.)

I can also see that the location might make for an interesting setting in a film if I chose to use the idea in one of my future films (or maybe not as other people have asked me to work on other projects) provided there was a character, story and place that worked together.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 400 BTC sent to an unknow address. Help please 40 BTC reward. on: May 20, 2012, 06:54:54 PM

I saw a lot of smaller (split) transactions here: http://blockexplorer.com/address/1N3z4a7YDf6A7GAWRuv9asLLuxtPvo2fKX
after following one of the leads from the first address I saw (one with 400BTC).

576  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dream Islands lottery (win up to 20BTC jackpot) on: May 18, 2012, 10:15:24 PM
Update on lottery developments:after the round finishes and the winner is decided, these games will take a short break so that much needed rennovations can take place (ad campaign, better winner selection system, clearer information, better ideas and a more community driven games) as well as getting some much needed rest after the developments are done before the games come live again.
Things to do (this i just to remind me):
1.Make ad campaign (easier as I'm a professional filmmaker)
2.Improve information and clean things up a bit on the website (medium difficulty for me as I'm not a web coding guy)
3.Implement a better selection system (hard but has to be done)
4.Help the community get more involved in decision making as well as selling part ownership to really improve community involvement. (very difficult for me.I think I'll delegate that to someone very trustworthy, perhaps even me old friend who I used to work with when I made a film with him.)
5.Other (whatever the community suggests,I listen to)

Thanks for the advice gorgo1 on the ad campaign Smiley Any ideas on what should be in there?
577  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dream Islands lottery (win up to 20BTC jackpot) on: May 18, 2012, 10:07:44 PM
Where is the sold ticket list?
Just look in the very first post or so (that I made) I update often. It will have numbers like S001 for example as well as who entered.I list things publicly as I wish to curb cheating/confusion.I like the experience to be perfect where say a number like S005 gets picked as the winner for example, but the winner doesn't come forward, well since this forum is community driven,I've decided to tap into that ability by giving others a chance to give the winner a gentle reminder to collect his winnings.

So to answer your question it's here:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67511.msg831455#msg831455
578  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using SHA512 hash as random number generator for Gambling services on: May 18, 2012, 10:02:29 PM
I was told that people on here are more likely to enter my lottery if I use this method of random selection. What I don't get is why am I 'effectively' forced to use a system which:
a.completely confuses me in how to set it up/how it works
.....
c.Why can't other methods be satisfactory even though I know in the real world no one seems to complain about fairness issues so much?
a. Randomness on a computer is a difficult subject; especially if you need to demonstrate no cheating.
c. Other methods work too. Just saying you will use a random number will always have skeptics. It is simple though. I've seen Bitcoin lotteries come and go where the players are to "just trust" that the operator isn't cheating. The problem is that it is VERY easy to run a lottery and fake who wins that way. The operator could play themselves and just keep getting new random data until they win and post a screenshot of the winner and take all the funds.

BitLotto was created with a design that makes any such manipulation impossible. Even if I wanted to skew the results in my favor, I can't. The cheat-proof method does add a little complexity but it's actually not too complicated. (For those you can't understand it, they just base their opinion on people they trust who do understand it) You could just use regular tickets and a bunch off lottery balls. I wanted something that was unique to Bitcoins. With Bitcoin a completely anonymous, yet cheat-proof lottery can be run. That is something unique and in my opinion pretty cool! That's why I made BitLotto.

Are you really just curious how BitLotto works? If so, please reply in my BitLotto thread and I'll discuss it there if you want. That will help keep this thread on topic.

Bitlotto thanks for the more helpful explaination about the fact that randomness thing.I have a generally good rep so it's safe for those to trust me. If only someone with the spare time could help me implement the system (just to satisfy the people who continue to raise this as an issue of my lotto even though I've deomstrated countless times that I'm not here to scam)

Other methods do work but as you say bitlotto,it always has skeptics (I don't know why but it just does). I think I will have to rebuild the PR for my lotto (thanks to gorgo1 for that tip by the way)

I think a PM would probably be better on discussing how to implement the measures in a way that's easy to understand for me (coding is too much for me.I'm better off as a professional filmmaker though rather than code stuff) as well as finally putting the cheating issue to rest as this is sinking my PR. I wanted to originally emulate the selection system based on UKs national lottery as it's much easier to administer for me (yay) while keeping the cheaters at bay (plus I love that style as it is on my lotto ticket for the euro millions lottery) but bitcoin is a completely different environment to the UKs national lottery so other methods have to be used (this is what happens with decentralisation,if there's no good way of verifying like with advanced maths, then cheating is an issue without a centralised entity)
579  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using SHA512 hash as random number generator for Gambling services on: May 18, 2012, 09:46:16 PM
a) You aren't being forced.  people have a right to use the services they wan't.  Complaining that customers want something different than you are offering has to be the most pointless whine ever.  Wouldn't you agree?  Either you offer what people wan't or you don't and run the risk of losing customers/business.

Only replying to clarify what I meant by that.I don't mind freedom of choice.I was simply at a loss of how to do thing properly.I'm sure you can understand Deathand taxes. The initial frustration you have when you can't understand why things are the way they are.I do feel that people should be more open to feedback from a different perspective instead of trying to defend something.Secondly I'm not sure where you got the idea I need to offer to pay for something.Thirdly people expect thing to be explained in a way that they can understand.it is a right for all people to have (equal) oppourtunities (where I live, anyone who thinks different is just seen as silly but that's a separate matter).Forth you could have been a little more helpful by linkng me to a post on here that answers the questions I was asking. This why people ask questions beacuse they wish to learn something not to be critiqued at all.Fifth I have the right to be skeptical of anything that doesn't sound 100%.

I do accept however that the anonymous nature of bitcoin can complicate things as to checking that things are as they should be (ie no cheating/double spend attacks) but still I still think that from examples I've seen there are two clear approaches:1.Decentralised (where everything is done without a central server making sure things are ok and instead relies on peers with other methods-may not be easy for everyone to use/understand) and 2. Centralised (the system I'm more familiar with as I know the clear port of call if something goes wrong and easy for guys like me to use.Trust is heavily placed in a central place though meaning if that person is unscrupulous however, this can really cause problems.)

If you can understand my position,I'd like to hear from you again.
580  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using SHA512 hash as random number generator for Gambling services on: May 18, 2012, 09:20:02 PM
I was told that people on here are more likely to enter my lottery if I use this method of random selection. What I don't get is why am I 'effectively' forced to use a system which:
a.completely confuses me in how to set it up/how it works
b.Why hasn't there a really simple explaination been made as to how it works (I thought bitcoin was meant to simplify things not complicate them.I'm from the mainstream so why cant things be simplified to the extent that the man on the street can say in confidence I want to embrace BTC with open arms instead of saying hmm,is this for me? type of moment).
c.Why can't other methods be satisfactory even though I know in the real world no one seems to complain about fairness issues so much? This is the only place here I see people complain about methods that traditionally worked (in real life, just look at the national lottery in UK-thats the method I want to use yet people say that's not random enough for my lottery.I'm really at a loss now)
d.My earlier questions about this haven't been answered.I want my queries addressed otheriwse I lose complete trust in a system that claims to make things better (straight and good quality answers = good business).

I don't want trolls but I like people who can understand things from an average man's point of view.My question is how can I make my lottery successfull on here? As people keep making suggestions about things I don't understand and I'm really thinking I should move this lottery thing elsewhere (unless the people here can show me compelling reasons to keep it on here).

I wonder where else I can move my business to online? I can't use SC as that's a waste of time/limited app support. Is there a section on here that can help people be successful in the BTC business line of things? (trade perhaps?)
