381  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Who wants Casascius coins in the UK? on: March 27, 2013, 02:29:48 PM
I would be interested in seeing Casacius coins in the UK as I'm fed up with the lack of reliable BTC to GBP exchanges in the UK (as the one I used,Intersango isn't working with GBP for nearly a year now,I think)

382  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1 BTC for the most creative idea on how it will be used on: March 27, 2013, 02:23:27 PM
I would use the 1BTC to invest in various businesses (like satoshi dice) then sell off all shares for a profiit.I would then recycle 2 thirds of the profit into more ventures and repeat this cycle a few times.Eventually cash everything out for a profit and start off my career in film/TV (must happen within 6 months after I start the whole plan).
383  Economy / Services / Re: Anyone want to make a Documentary? [4 to 8 BTC] on: February 11, 2013, 10:27:23 PM
I've stumbled across your project and I have to say I'm interested in knowing more.

I have a few things to mention though:
1.What topic will this documentary cover? (ignore this, just read the topic more closely just now)
2.I'm a professional user of Final Cut Pro 7 (and reasonably good with FCPX as well),however I can adapt to using premiere Pro CS6 if required.
3.I have access to internet with speeds of around 50mbps download and around 5mbps upload (This varies a lot depending on time of day in UK, though sometimes)
4.I have a MacBook Pro (MBP-Mid 2010) which can handle 1080p res videos relatively well despite its age (I once tried transcoding 4K res videos to 1080p) and a capable desktop PC for transcoding/encoding/rendering/etc videos to supplement this,if required.
5.I'm good with special effects (not CGI though or 3D effects yet)
6.I have the skills to deliver on most projects.
7.I have a trailer for an upcoming film made to showcase my editing abilities here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdhGV-1iLww :-) (If you like it please comment, like and spread the word of the video)

I look forward to hearing from you 420. :-)

384  Economy / Services / Re: I need to remove DRM from a CD (software) so that I can run it as an ISO on: January 14, 2013, 01:13:09 AM
I know it may be a longshot but have you considered using http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonecd.html  Clone CD? I remember using this back in 2004,with the promise that I had a DRM free .ISO to mount in Daemon tools (that was all a long time ago, thinks could have changed a lot since then,so my advice maynot be useful anymore)

I hope this helps. If this helps you, send BTC to the address in my signature. We can discuss price via PM if you're interested.

Here is the keyboard from 4.2. Try installing it and it might work right off the bat.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/34538839/4.2JellyBeanKeyboard.apk

Thanks a lot.Will try it out :-)
Update:Installed it and it works successfully on my Galaxy S3 (the jelly bean 4.2 stock keyboard will also work with jelly bean 4.1 as I've just tested it.).Thanks a lot.Only thing left is to try and find that emoji dictionary or to import that in the languages list somehow.

Thing to bear in mind is select the tickbox for  "allow installation of non-market apps" option so that this can be installed in future. The app works fine after this is enabled.

Say do you know how to find and download additional dictionaries for the android keyboard now that I've got it up and running? Thanks

Settings->Language and imput-> android keyboard settings->add-on dictionaries->Emoji for English words->Install?
This'll take me some time to find as it appears that Samsung has heavily customised my galaxy S3 with their own GUI.I'll report back as soon as I make progress or need help. Thanks again Smiley

Basically what you are looking for is the settings of the keyboard app you just installed. If you are able to use the jelly bean keyboard to type, you should be able to hold down the "," button on the keyboard to get to it's settings.

It's ok.I managed to find the settings but I discovered a problem. In the Input languages option (what I need),Samsung must have removed the 'Emoji characters for English' options as it doesn't show on that list with the stock android KB.Not a fault of Android,It's samsung's.I've heard that rooting my phone will let me add additional input languages to the phone,so I'll be looking into that.If it's true, how can you add additional languages onto the device or find a downloadable file to put it on there.

I may not be an expert in android but I'm starting to get to grips with stuff (I only had it for less than 2 months so far) so hopefully I'll get my answer. Just discovered that Jelly bean 4.1 can read emojis that are sent to me via text message (from a win phone, gotta test iPhones next),I just cant write them for now but I can see them at least so I can understand what people are saying.

Thanks for the help Smiley

Hi,
I know this is off topic but I'm currently in need of help with my Galaxy S3 LTE (GT-9305 from UK and came with Jelly bean 4.1.1 when I bought it). I discovered that I can get emojis which I like the look of (a person on twitter I follow started mentioning/using them). The thing is,it says I need to switch to the android keyboard on the phone but my galaxy S3 didn't come with it (only samsung keyboard is available plus google voice typing).I didn't know where I could go for this type of thing so I thought I'd post it here.

I need help with 2 things:
1.How can I find and install 'android keyboard' (jelly bean stock like on google's devices) onto my Galaxy S3 (LTE) phone
2.How to get Emoji (Engish) dictionary after I have the android keyboard installed.

I know where to find this in the menu but I see no mention of finding and installing android keyboard on my phone for phones which don't have it for some reason: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/x0fn6/jellybeans_native_emoji_support/

I need help so no trolls please. It'd be nice if I can tweet messages without going through 140 characters so quickly with just a few words. Thanks Smiley
389  Economy / Services / Re: Who among us has & operates quality video equipment? on: November 20, 2012, 05:37:29 PM
I have a MacBook Pro for professional film/video editing jobs if that's what you mean by video equipment? Or do you mean people who have access to cameras for shooting footage? If an editing job needs doing, keep me in mind. :-)
390  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Pingit on: November 04, 2012, 11:01:51 AM
Is there a way which I can sell my Bitcoins for GBP via Pingit?

You might find an individual to send Pingit.

Here's an Bitcoin merchant doing trading, offering to send a bank transfer.  Perhaps asking there you could get the funds via Pingit instead:

Thanks for the tip Stephen,I'll look into this Smiley

subSTRATA,I'd like to know how you reached this conclusion?

Right, false positive there! I forgot to delete previous post, after I found out Bit2Brit was actualy reanimating many old posts himself.  Tongue
Don't worry about it subSTRATA Smiley

Sorry for the delay guys.I've just been rather busy with other work lately.

I've had successful trades before with forum members like gbr with needing to design a film poster for me and others (like moredropbox). Here's the proof:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=484.msg844554#msg844554
I hope this clarifies things with my reputation. Smiley

I just discovered Barclays Pingit and managed to set it up on my new phone.Question is,is there a service that can use this as a method of exchange? I'd like to make life easier for myself and the person exchanging with me.

Also before I forget, thanks Stephen for the link,I found that helpful.

Edits:Rephrased a few things and added link to some proof of my rep on here.Deleted redundant info from before and corrected a typo (oops, got to be more careful when typing fast, lol).
395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for a new exchange for BTC to GBP trades on: October 31, 2012, 02:42:30 PM
Thanks for the reponses guys.I'll have a look at the bit2brit exchange as well as using an escrow as it looks like I'll be dealing with lesser known exchanges (not a bad thing in itself/more of a common sense thing to use escrow if unsure) from this point on in the future as it looks like it'll be much harder to trade BTC to GBP in UK due to the climate there.

The exchange into bank notes that get delivered certainly sounds interesting as it'll be the first I know of in the UK but my question is can I really trust Royal mail for this? They don't have a flawless reputation and many people I know have had issues with them with things being lost in transit.

I'll stick with wire transfer (bank account) as it'll be quicker/safer than royal mail.

What's the website for bitstamp and are they reputable? As I'd like to check them out.

I'd be interested to see how things pan out before deciding whether to join or not.I am a professional filmmaker for those who need those services (mainly offering video editing services at the moment though). If the founder is interested,I'd like to PM ideas that I think could work for the group or maybe it's best that I just post them here instead (still thinking on that one at the moment,I'll get back to you).

397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Reaper giving me error 28.How to resolve it? on: October 20, 2012, 05:21:35 PM
Hi guys,
For quite a while I've enjoyed seeing substantial performance boosts on my GPU when mining LTC.until recently everything was fine.

Since today Reaper miner (v13 beta 4) decided to give me an "error 28 getting work message".

I saw that this had something to do with a timeout as I looked up the URl in the error message.Question is,how do I resolve this?

I've tried:
1.Deleting all compiled binaries and make reaper recompile them (to try and clear the fault)
2.Restarted Reaper countless times (too many to count)
3.Checked my internet connection (it's fine in every app except reaper)
4.Restarting the PC a few times to rule out system instability.(each instance came back stable)
5.Added access through my firewall (Added it as a 'trusted app' in Comodo firewall)
6.Disabling and re-enabling the firewall to rule out internet access issues.
7.Installed latest windows updates.

I'm not sure what it can be.I'd love to use cgminer but can't figure out how to put in the commands to make it work (and took too much of my time trying to troubleshoot it last time I used it)

The other miner for LTC (Scrypt miner) doesn't have this issue but will be much slower as it works on my CPU instead of GPU.

398  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU cripples future graphics cards (by regulating max. energy consumption) on: October 16, 2012, 09:35:32 PM
When I first heard it this morning in UK on The Inquirer news site,I thought, holy s*** the EU decides it wants to regulate the very components I want to use inside my PC now.Talk about getting into my personal business. What business is it how powerful my PC is to someone other than me (the regulators). If anything, people like me will simply hasten up their plans to migrate to a country outside EU to escape these ridiculous regs. They banned traditional lightbulbs (non-CFL/LED),then they restrict certain supplements and now they're trying to regulate how powerful my GPU is.I mean come on.Whats next? I'm just happy I started to realise (better late than never) how useful freedom can be (esp in Uk where we're all convinced that the more regs, the better.I mean sure we need some regs but not so damn many lol)

Even though I find all this downright bizzare,we can find ways around it,question is will they start checking everything we import into EU too?

hi again guys,
I must say thank you for the helpful replies and PMs.I'm now in the process of considering all offers. In the meantime,I'll put things on hold for a while due to personal circumstances at the moment however as soon as I can sort things out,I'll make sure to get back to you. Thanks again for the help and your patience Smiley

How much are you looking to shift?

While I can't mention specifics,I can certainly say that these will be very small volume transactions (Less than 10BTC) at a time due to the current situation of exchanges in UK.
