After a few adjustments we have been testing the new wallet again. We have changed it from the old style wallet to a new style wallet that will more easily allow for additional features in the coming months. We have added the block explorer to the wallet this time and redesigned the colour scheme and logo. We will have the new style wallets version 1.1.0 out for download in a few days for all platforms.

There are further features planned to be implemented in future versions.

thx @BitcoinCharlie
That wallet works excellent - sync'ed very quick, and looks cool too Smiley
Glad to be at your service!

Anyone have any update on the MAC wallet?

Yeah, an updated Mac client would be nice.

I have just compiled Mac wallet from the latest source off Github.

Tested on 10.7 - 10.10.

Will post the link as soon as upload is completed.

Cheers!

EDIT: http://wikisend.com/download/216236/Unobtanium-Qt-OSX.zip - MD5 verify (64d2451085a41fd220f191e3de9c8def)

Link will be valid for only 90 days. Anybody know any good file sharing site?

I just tested the Mac wallet and it crashes straight away:

Exception Type:        EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
Exception Codes:       0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000

I'm using the v0.9.5.0-thermoremnant wallet, and it loads OK - after opening up it is in full sync, but then after a while it starts falling behind about 50-80 blocks and never catches up again. 8 active connections.
Is there a newer version than this one?
I think I've seen some posts mention ver .1?
If so - where can I download that one? The link in the OP for WINDOWS only downloads the 0.9.5.0
For the latest wallet, please go to www.unobtanium.uno and download the 0.1 beta and you should be fine.

Thats excellent but the Mac is not there yet  Sad

and retweet my tweets...

New wallets are being tested and will be out soon...
1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BITZ] X11 10% PoS only ** Bitz for the future ** on: May 15, 2015, 04:57:59 AM
Is bitz anon?

No, Bitz is as anonymous as any other crypto like Bitcoin. It depends on what you mean. There is no focus on 'hiding' transactions or 'hiding' your IP. I believe the so called anonymity features of some coins are just hype and a fad. Although the Bitz ledger (blockchain) is public (block explorer) like say, Bitcoin and Litecoin nobody watching the blockchain will have information on who is sending to who and most importantly WHY?

So, even if a snooper of some description saw that, say 10,000 Bitz, were sent to an address, say BDVVLfpVbcjsMzKQacWnQFK37iLcCjGqpU he would have no information whatsoever who actually sent it and why. This information is only available if the two parties making the transaction make it public. If the snooper had the means he could trace the IP maybe but bear in mind that an IP do not identify a person.

Anonymity is relative anyway, so if the powers that be put all their resources into tracing you my guess is that they would be able to even if you used anonymity features. You will remember that many so called 'dark web' sites on the Tor network were traced recently and that there are numerous examples of very high level hacking and breaking of various encryption probably by a state power. Also, do not expect the state powers to reveal what they can and can't do. If they are able to break encryption they WILL NOT tell you.

So, in my view the question you have to ask yourself is; are my activities of such a nature that may attract the attention of the FBI, NSA, MI5 etc. and are my activities of such a nature that would prompt said agencies to spend a hell of a lot of money and resources to track me down? If the answer to the above is yes, I suggest that it is not safe to use any crypto to conduct your affairs. I guess that's why most serious criminals still use the most anonymous of all payments methods; cash!

If you are doing 'normal' stuff don't worry, anonymity is hyped up and the vast majority of people do not need it because they are of no interest to the law enforcement community. They are not going to spend a lot of money tracing random people.

I want Bitz to be above board and I feel that a drive towards anonymity (that I have explained is relative anyway) only reinforces the view of the masses that crypto is dodgy and that people are using it to hide their shady activities. I don't buy into the civil liberties argument in relation to cryptos either as they are all 'anonymous enough' for anything that isn't terrorism, murder or high value international drug trafficking etc.

Your views?

Why can't the dev just compile the 0.10. wallets and get them out? I am still short of 25 UNO that I can't access
1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BITZ] X11 10% PoS only ** Bitz for the future ** on: May 13, 2015, 06:28:01 PM
I may have ask before, what was the premine, dev?

There was no premine but due to an oversight with the difficulty the first 3000 blocks, i.e around 105,000 Bitz were mined very fast, probably by Shadow_runner or someone solo mining at the start. They didn't all go to one person at least. I don't think thats a big problem now though, the network is stable and running fine. If you have a look at the rich list it's obvious that some people are sitting on quite a few Bitz but I suspect that once we get wider adoption they will start to dump to cash in and the Bitz will spread and then the value will slowly climb, thats what I think...

I have now locked the voting for operating systems and the results are:
MS Windows - 25 (86.2%)
Mac OSX - 1 (3.4%) - Thats me!  Cheesy
Linux - 3 (10.3%

I guess that's telling. We'll do another vote soon...
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BITZ] X11 10% PoS only ** Bitz for the future ** on: May 13, 2015, 06:09:25 PM
We have been testing the new Windows wallet version 1.1.0 today  Grin and a beta will be out soon, maybe today or tomorrow. Not sure if we are to release the windows first or wait for the rest of the set of wallets.

I have also been in communication with some payment processors and potential merchants and I get the same feedback, that Bitz has promise and that it looks good but the liquidity is low and there is little trade. This is what stops Bitz from being adopted at the moment. So, we need more trade and get onto Bittrex etc. The best way to to do this is for everyone holding Bitz to connect on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest and to spread the word. I hope the new wallets and website will add to the community.

So, if you have a Facebook account or Pinterest account then find us and connect.
1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 141,547,750,000,000 Bitcoins on: May 13, 2015, 10:12:05 AM
At this moment there are 14,155,200 BTC currently mined out of the 21 million that will ever be mined. It was a big day when the currently mined total hit 14 million. There was a debate about how many of those had been lost due to people losing their private keys, but people could only speculate. The longer Bitcoins stay in the same address the more likely it is that the owner has lost his key.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=109117.0

I believe it was more a wondering in regards to the long term value of Bitcoin, whether the fact that there are trillions of units (I knew that they were called 'Satoshi') will impact on the value. Sorry I left a zero out and maybe it was a stupid way to put the question, the account is not sold however.

How many Bitcoins really exists? It was just a question

I found the Tx ID and it looks like it's just gone through today.

I do not know why this happened. I suggest that you generate new addresses as the address you used was created before the hard fork and it's possible that this may be the reason. It looks like it's been resolved now? Can you check again with C-Cex if that was their address.

Here it is.

Can you copy and paste the Tx ID please

Dev i got my wallet working but this is the problem.
I never got my coin on c-cex.

Double click on the transaction and give me a screenshot and copy and paste the Tx ID please for this transaction.

It is not showing on the blockchain for that address:

I am getting a bit frustrated as I have 25 UNO that I sent from Cryptsy that I cannot access and I am waiting for an update but no news on when the Mac wallet will be available.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BITZ] X11 10% PoS only ** Bitz for the future ** on: May 12, 2015, 04:13:52 AM
I just sent 0.02 BTC for 50 votes to get Bitz added to the GoUrl.io payment system. If you want to increase the value of Bitz please vote at GoUrl.io https://gourl.io/coin-voting.html
If we all come together, a small contribution to get Bitz added will increase the likely hood of Bitz being added to the larger exchanges and increase the value of your Bitz.
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Miners Update to 0.1.0 on: May 11, 2015, 03:39:46 PM
Will it help if I reload the whole blockchain? and how do I do that?

Let me run a test and try to get back to you.
In unobtaniu.conf I'll setup connect={0.10 node ip}
and try to resync the blockchain. If it works I'll let you know.

This is a follow up to EBK1000 regarding a workaround I tried on my Uno Windows wallet. I added only 0.10 addnodes to the Unobtanium.conf file in my Windows wallet. Based on my experience, I don't recommend this as a workaround. It's too much work, and the fix does not persist. After downloading the block chain, eventually the wallet drifted out of sync again. It did however recover coins received up to the point it synced with the 0.10 nodes.

If you have a 0.10 Linux wallet, you're good. If you have Win/Mac wallet, please continue to sit tight. Sending your coins will work, but receiving them on Windows/Mac is unpredictable. They are not "lost," if you send them to a Win/Mac wallet; you could, for example import our priv keys to a Linux wallet and access them.

Can I install the Linux wallet and import my wallet.dat file from Mac? or import my keys to the Linux wallet?
1258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BITZ] X11 10% PoS only ** Bitz for the future ** on: May 11, 2015, 02:48:22 PM
ver 1.0.1a

Was this a first run after an install? A reboot might resolve the library issue, or a reinstall of the wallet. Try to backup the wallet.dat (but it looks like it's empty anyway) and just get rid of the wallet software and install again as a first measure.

It's probably a C++ library issue

Let me know if that works
