1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - Stay out! on: August 09, 2015, 02:40:01 PM
Can someone tell me where in Ether explorer you can find the total amount of "coins" or Ethers. Is it not there? ...or have I lost it...Where is a source of the total number of coins used by Coinmarketcap etc.??

This "survey" has ended:

It is clear that people want updates here as opposed to the dedicated Bitz forum. Fair enough.

Can I ask everyone that regularly follow this thread (or anyone else for that matter). What would be the most desired feature to be added to Bitz?
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BITZ] 10% Proof-of-Stake ** PLEASE UPDATE TO VER. 1.1.0 ** on: August 05, 2015, 05:04:10 PM
Any news on the Two Factor authentication?

It's a tricky concept and we are working on various theoretical models for security but as the Bitz community seems to be the smallest in cryptoworld there is no need for it right now. Don't get me wrong, we are working on making the wallet safer it's just that I am spending all my time lately on promoting etc.

ED: I am planning to produce an updated "road map". To be honest, this being the first "coin" we have created I didn't anticipate the amount of work involved just around promotion etc. The main ideas are sound and we will do it...
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BITZ] 10% Proof-of-Stake ** PLEASE UPDATE TO VER. 1.1.0 ** on: August 04, 2015, 02:59:22 PM

This week has seen BITZ added to Bittrex (https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-BITZ) and we have a new block explorer up thanks to Presstab (http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/BITZ/ or bitz.presstab.pw). This will assist in stabilising the network and the two block explorers provide a slightly different view of the network.

There was a slight problem with the master node (192.64.115.186 / server1.bitznode.biz) and we have reconfigured it and hopefully that should again aid to stabilise the network. At the moment, the network looks healthy although only about 35% of Bitz are staking,  but as you can see the number of "orphans" has gone down.

I am currently setting up a new Linux server to run a Cointopay client and so get Bitz added to their payment system. So, it seems you will be able to use Bitz to buy stuff soon.

We are still reviewing the staking mechanism and may choose to implement a fairer system in the near future.

Lessons learnt. It is difficult to set a time specific "road map" as the nature of this whole venture seems to change all the time and we have to re-prioritise and focus on getting the basic infrastructure running safely before embarking on new features. There has been some anomalies after being added to Bittrex and we are trying to analyse that.

I think that we will focus on finding any weaknesses in the code /staking and getting the Cointopay server up and then we'll see...

As always, stay safe and we'll get to where we want to be soon(ish)...

ED: Oh, yes, I donated 2000 BITZ to a faucet at: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Faucet so get some free Bitz

Well, it was "front page news" for a week and I Tweeted, but hey....
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BITZ] 10% Proof-of-Stake ** PLEASE UPDATE TO VER. 1.1.0 ** on: August 02, 2015, 02:33:11 PM
The 5000 Bitz ReTweet competition ended without a single entry?? Thats a bit weird, nobody took the chance to get 5000 Bitz which is roughly 0.059 BTC or $17,- at present. The first person who had composed a Tweet would have got this. A Tweet for $17,- and no takers.

I guess the giveaways / competitions are a waste of time. Have to think of something else...

https://gourl.io/coin-voting.html

There are ways of getting many free votes for BITZ. Check it out if you have some free time.

I have checked it and I am not able to get any free votes, I don't run any commercial sites or anything like that

CAN EVERYONE UPDATE TO 1.1.0 PLEASE

There are still someone using the version 1.0.1 wallet. It seems this has the potential to cause problems. Nothing to worry about, but please update to 1.1.0 if you are using 1.0.1

ED:

Please add this node to bitz.conf

ONE or TWO GUYs are building about 120k wall on Bittrex (maybe dev?). Dude, why are you destroying the market first day? Do you wanna cheap coins or what? Without your stupid walls the price could be 3000sat already. I hope you are just trying to get some cheap coins and then you will remove your walls. Otherwise you are just stupid, becouse this is not how to sell your coins for profit (nobody wanna buy if there is a 120k sellwall).

I've got no Bitz for sale on Bittrex or anywhere else, it's someone else not associated with me....

ED: I don't see any wall

Ok, i am not saying it is you....but almost all the sell orders are probably from 1 or 2 guys....So somebody probably owns more than 120k coins. Check the distribution on Bittrex. There is about 120k coins in sell orders from 1,5k-10k....but top1 wallet has 63k, top2 41k, top3 24k....So it must be 1 or 2 guys who has about 120k in several wallets and building a big walls ir range from 1,5k-10k.

Maybe so, I don't know, I don't think it matters in the long run. I know some people are sitting on some Bitz balances and they want to dump it, fine, it will aid to spread Bitz ownership and over time the price will stabilise and slowly increase. There is only about 6-7 % of the total supply on offer.

We can only wait and see for a few days.
