I have seen such events like 100x always ened the same that is why i suggest people think 10x before you get into such classic pump action ^^.
Crypto pumpers give you usually ONE shot to sell on top same goes to any good gold, oil, company shares.

Whole idea companies on blochain shares dividends is great this is something one century above us i think in current model.

But with information era is possible to execute such companies news for coins.

Perfect economy system for governments:
- Money are are disappearing in rate like 1 / 30 per month (u must use currency)
- amount of disappearing currency is created by government (no one need to pay direct tax)
- tax are fixed and simple
- system promotes workers and consumption
- no banks needed

to save money you rather need to have children,stock in companies and hard assets not money in banks/accounts
all currency is flowing all time is force to be used by diapering.

Giving coin purpose to exist is the best.
And way to intrest new people into crypto aswell.
The stupidest thing is that will accure with next BTC bubble.
And 80% of those investors/users will be scary.

I think you should define what progress is so far we are improving client and such stuff.
There is no new investors in crypto today so is hard to find fresh blood.
At some point when monetary crisis will come and anbd it will for sure you have many countries in critical debt
state like Greece, PIGS in Eu most cuntries lays in deep sheet.
They can go over those financial problems mostly by inflation (printing money to pay intrest)
And then people will start looking for alternative monetary systems some of them will try invest in crypto like in
GOLD before. ( i personaly favour buyng silver ATM ) Crypto, GOLD, Silver are unique assets even not inflated to much.

As for NEM lets answer opurselves:
What i can buy with NEM ? - Hmm nothing
Why i should buy NEM now ? - It have good devs and probaly will have unique features in future
Can i earn by minig with NEM ? No about 100-300 XEM per 10days holding online 3m stack.
Is there other way like NEM rewards ? Maybe in future you can get 3000-4000 week with rewards but not today.
Can we setup smart contracts or something like asset exchange with XEM ? Not today
How many XEM devs have today ? I assume is about 25% of all for support XEM. This is good for devs  bad for free market (P&D) squads

So lets be honest today you can speculate what you can do with XEM but not really use it.
So we dont have REAL buy preasure today lets face it.
Those issues are adressed to most crypto ATM not only NEM.
We need time shops real assts backed up by XEM today we can only dream about better future.
Devs are good so if have to gamble with crypto i have chosen XEM.

Fist big BTC jump was when Cyprus had their crisis and we are going into banking crissis soon.

Bank crysis = free BTC jump (Cyprus,Greece ) and there is a lot of countries on the  way including US.

Nothing new typycal crypto day  one coin was pumped +100% to fall after pump.

Yup and real big picture is NEM vs NXT Bitshares market cap in loing run those markets will  seek balance aganis each other.
Few more features companies and market will lead NEM over them if they wont make much progress simple.
Today we can only bet.
Safer bet is bet is 100$ today on NEM than 1000$ on NXT or 5000$ on BTS to get similiar market share.
It is easier over time to move NEM market those others.

in short for can be but not really if thing will go hot with next nija news it can be eg. 80sat flor.
In LONG run NEM competiting with crypro 2.0 where Bitshares,NXT are 6x-10x more valuable ATM.
Since NEM devs are doing great job (like cold staking = delegated harvesting ) there good i was looking for such
good coin. Market will search real price with continious work NEM should be arround those 2.0 market cap.

In short therm buying today for long run is not smartest move but for casino play in week or two why not
you can bet 90sat-200sat if whales come it can be 500-1000 sat in peak with no sell volume who really knows.

So 1st go with smart contracts / asset exchange / decentralized maket places / mobile wallets so go road map
pickup some company to work with and rest will come. Good coins don't need much marketing.

Today Crypto is not on TOP news big investors time will come with next BTC bubble for me this is not so far ahead becouse there is a lot data that Central banks are printing "adding 0" to balances so time with fial currency collapse is comming,
then people will look for Gold then silver but in stock there will be any availbe so people will look for BTC as alternative asset which will protect you from inflation.

Personally i belive in that "QE"- printing money by central banks will  lead people to BTC and then some people will seek for alternativs and NEM have HUGE rise pottencial. Then not much marketing is needed.
Marketing is mostly needed when you want sell overpriced product amd need money for developing.
So far i see NEM have great coders and is worth to stick with it.

THere were guides how setup VPS for NEM i have used them,
without those guides (*rather scripts i am done ) that 0.6.31 will stay till free amazon time is over.
it is easy to change *31 to *43 but clear guide is not avaible right now so i gave up till forum is up again.

it takes some time to rise and pactiece is key,
so far i see remote harveting really cool stuff,
some kind light wallet by using NODE and to be hones something like remote harvesting was
demanded from PPC from beginig and what ? nothing you have to stake and put yourself at risk
so i see huge putencial in devs but inpacient people will dump and run away while NEM needs some more new stuff
and stores and who knows what next coin itseld is very intresting. Lets see what will happen later.
