Do the Black bytes play any role in the distribution cycles or is it strictly the white byteballs?

You'll get 2.1111 blackbytes for every byte in your wallet at the time of the snapshot. But you must link your byte address in the transition bot.

Wieviele TX/s schafft BB eigentlich momentan?

10-20 Transaktionen pro Sekunde in der aktuellen Implementierung, sagt Tony.

hi,

Byteball Backups and Recovery

Byteball uses a single extended private key for all wallets, BIP44 is used for wallet address derivation. There is a BIP39 mnemonic for backing up the wallet key, but it is not enough. Private payments and co-signers of multisig wallets are stored only in the app's data directory, which you have to back up manually:

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/byteball
Linux: ~/.config/byteball
Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball

809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 17, 2017, 10:51:43 PM
Do all existing byteball addresses will be granted bytes in the second round or we have to register them somewhere?

All bytes in your wallet at time of the snapshot will receive new bytes and blackbytes, you don't need to register them. Registering is only for linking BTC addresses.

I must correct myself here!  Roll Eyes

To receive new blackbytes, you have to send your bytes to your own address the transition bot tells you. This is a technical necessity and can't be avoided to receive blackbytes. For new bytes you must do nothing, it's only necessary if you want to receive blackbytes! (who would not?  Grin)

...
Also im Umkehrschluss, nur das einzahlen was man wirklich tauschen will?

811  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [ANN] BYTEBALL: komplett neuer Konsens-Algorithmus und private Zahlungen on: January 17, 2017, 01:10:24 PM
Der Transition Bot sagt:
"You also receive 0.21111 blackbytes for each 1 byte of your balance on the linked Byteball address, which currently is:
7EBRFYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx: 0 GB."

812  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [ANN] BYTEBALL: komplett neuer Konsens-Algorithmus und private Zahlungen on: January 17, 2017, 03:23:54 AM

Little guide for Byteball trading

This slack channel is for discussing Byteball trading and for organizing such trades. Please be aware that at the moment, the only way to trade safely is through a reputable escrow middleman! Even if you think you know the guy who you want to trade with, you should better trade through an escrow! We've already seen lots of scammers who try to impersonate well-known community members. So proceed with due diligence and always make sure that you are dealing with the right person, especially your escrow middleman. Only use registered escrow services and compare the usernames and bitcoin addresses carefully before you send someone your precious coins!

Registered escrow services:

@yassinnxt
Registered escrow bitcoin address: 153tSmxbKfby652LUyYdYEZhoxY9RzHYrz
Fee: 1% in BTC (from Byteball buyer)
(approx. 2700 BTC escrowed so far)

@seccour
Registered escrow bitcoin address: 1Hx3kxKbYyNgGyqzLB5Qw8BA8dZbuu1Xjn
Fee: none (tips accepted)
(over 500 BTC escrowed so far)

@martis
Registered escrow bitcoin address: 1pMPHbinYokoXEDav5J3tkto14rxBSwx9
Fee: 1% in BTC (split 50/50 between buyer and seller)

and the linked addresses stay linked for the second round?

Yes. If you're not sure if you have balance on those linked addresses, talk again with the transition bot in the wallet. It will tell you all linked addresses with their balances.

CryptKeeper, are you and how much are you getting paid to run this thread? Are there other people on "the team" getting compensated? Where's the money coming to pay people, presuming people are getting paid?

I'm not getting paid for this. Cheesy  I'm doing this because I'm interested in this new technology and want to help building a community around it!

And it's fun!!!  Grin

(I know that Tony paid some bounties out of his own pocket for translators but I think it's up to him to answer that)

Okay a serious question:  What's the best way to backup wallet?  I wrote down restore phrase and wrote down encryption key.  Do I need to backup anything else?  I couldn't find a wallet.dat in application support (mac)

Sorry if this sounds lame (I admit I didn't read the whole whitepaper Grin), but is there any way to see in block explorer or anywhere else, the date/time when a transaction is actually made!?  Huh

Look in the wallet at the "History" tab, then click on a tx to see the details.
