Thanks, it works and it took about 6h to sync. The wallet is good looking. Exploring the settings I saved the seed and created a spending password as I would do on the real network. I'm confused by the backup part, the instructions say that the seed isn't enough to recreate the account but you need other settings too but it doesn't say which ones or how to save them (I don't remember the exact phrase because it was deleted along the seed after I saved it).
I agree with this assessment - I think clearer instructions on how to backup the wallet are necessary. You need to back up the entire data folder (~/.config/Byteball test on linux). This folder includes private payments (blackbytes) which are not restorable from the seed. A better way to prepare for the device loss or failure, is by setting up a multi-sig wallet with redundancy, then you'll automatically have several copies of private payments on multiple devices. how do i backup wallet on Windows? thank you I downloaded the light wallet. The seed is almost never needed. If you are on Windows, backup the folder C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Local\AppData\byteball. |

Wo sieht man denn eigentlich die Peers? Muss ich denn für eine "bessere" Verbindung Ports freigeben?
Ich wüsste nicht, dass man Ports freigeben muss. Bisher hat alles so geklappt, aber eine gute Frage! Funktioniert wahrscheinlich über UPNP. Die Peers kannst Du nur sehen, wenn Du in die Byteball-Datenbank guckst. Die SQLite-Datenbank findest Du in Windows unter "C:\Users\DEIN_BENUTZERNAME\AppData\Local\byteball" (es gibt kostenlose Viewer für SQLite). Ich hatte was gelesen von 6611, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere. Ich kann es zwar sehen, seit 2Tagen gibt's da nur eine Verbindung über 60590, aber ich muss es auch "bestimmen" können zwecks Sicherheit welche Ports benutzt werden sollen. Der Entwickler sagt, es wird nur der Standard-Port 443 benutzt. |

If i get airdropped on for linking a btc address and i sell all my bytes, but never move my btc, do i get airdropped on for the following rounds? all i saw is that its weighted differently but didnt see if theres a penalty for not hodling.
i think not because airdrop must be proved like yur btc for next round..sorry if i'm not allright dev will correct me. No, Tony said that the linked bitcoins stay linked for the following rounds (if you don't move them). |

Usually the wallet transfers unused coins from the inputs as 'change' to a new address. In this case, you have to send the total wallet balance to the linked btc address you own. After this tx is confirmed, the transition bot will update your balance. |

The linking phase will end on December 24 at 23:59:59 UTC, after which we'll do the distribution in proportion to Bitcoin balances in the first block timestamped after December 25 00:00:00 UTC (Christmas block). I'll announce the exact block number several hours after this block is mined (the waiting time is to exclude the slightest chance of reorg). The bytes and blackbytes will be sent out in the afternoon of December 25. |

Die Bitcoinadresse zum claimen kann man im "Transition Bot" direkt in der Wallet angeben.
Man muss eine Adresse haben, bei der man entweder den Betrag kontrollieren oder eine Nachricht signieren kann. Börsenwallets werden aus diesem Grund nicht funktionieren. Es haben auch keine Börsen zugesagt, mit ihren BTC an der Ausschüttung teilzunehmen - geschweige denn, Bytes und Blackbytes zu handeln.
Es wäre gut, wenn man beim Claimen einen beliebigen Betrag überweisen darf, um die Kontrolle über die Adresse zu beweisen. Manche Wallets haben nämlich Mindestbeträge, die versendet werden können. Fordert der Claiming-Prozess nun das Überweisen eines zu geringen Fixbetrags, könnte es sein, dass dies mit manchen Wallets nicht möglich ist. Ich hatte so eine Erfahrung bei der HEAT ICO und dem Mycelium Wallet. Mit Mycelium könntest Du aber auch signieren, um Deine Adresse nachzuweisen, dann kann dieses Problem nicht auftreten. |
