Any news from byteball world beside Tonych update?

Sure, read this monthly summary by Suirelav:

Is anyone in active discussions with cryptopia?

this investigation has been weeks now.

Tony e-mailed them half a dozen times without response but apparently they are overloaded with support requests so they have a special form for stuff like this, he contacted them yesterday through this form. [source: Slack]
Being listed on binance would be the best, but tony must contact them.

As Byteball’s Community Manager I welcome any community effort

but this is not an official Byteball fund and not endorsed by the Byteball team!

We have an official Byteball Community Fund which is also used to fund marketing efforts, you can read all about it in our wiki: https://wiki.byteball.org/byteball-community-fund
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: December 24, 2017, 07:48:15 AM
Few months ago i funded i opened an nxt account and i funded it with a certain number of nxt. I also wrote down the passphrase of that account.
Today i entered the account by means of the phassprase but i was surprised when i saw that tha balance was 0 an moreover it appeared the following
phrase : "when funding your account for the first time you can increase security by also proving your public key which is edc56ff678h45ffdd332245........etc.
and then : valildate phassphrase.  But when i tryed to validate, it displayed incorrect passphrase (the same that i used to enter the account)

Does somebody know what the problem is?  Have i lost my nxt?

I thought that even if somebody robbed them i should have seen the thransaction towards another account in the history of transaction.

Do i have to download the blockchain?

thanks in advance if somebody could help me to solve this issue?

Try variations of your pass phrase. Even the slightest typo will lead to a totally different account ID!
Have you typed it manually or did you copy&paste it? Try caps lock as well. Good luck!

Why the next Airdrop scheduled for Mar 2, 2018? It was every month before.
Will this be the last round with 100% distribution or what's the difference?

Chief developer Tony explained it in this post:

346  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [ANN] BYTEBALL: komplett neuer Konsens-Algorithmus und private Zahlungen on: December 22, 2017, 08:26:10 AM

It seems you’ve done everything right so far to create a new wallet from scratch.
But the error messages give a hint that you weren’t successful to delete all files. Maybe you still had the wallet running (check taskmanager) while you were deleting and some files were still locked by the app? Or you are running different user accounts and the one who created the wallet first isn’t the one you’re using now (an access rights problem). After deleting %localappdata%/byteball, please restart the machine and have a look if the folder is really gone.

And thanks for the kind words!   Smiley

My notebook is finally out of the warranty service, so I installed the new wallet version. Too bad that the last sync I made was around the beginning of october. It will be a while till it catches up. It could be a nightmare for those who just downloads the wallet and wants to do a sync from zero. On an HDD it's just chanceless.

Is it planned to enhance/optimize the load time?

Use the light wallet which is the default and recommended option now.

I am disappointed with Byte-BTC exchange bot in byteball app.I sold some Bytes for btc and the bot sent me Bitcoin with 20sat/byte fee which is very low.Even the parent tx is unconfirmed.I am waiting from almost 16 hours for my tx to get confirmed. Please remove that bot from byteball app. :/

I'm forwarding this to the chief developer. In the meantime, could you please try this service: https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
I've used it several times now and it worked well. It's very popular, so you'll probably need several attempts to get in the queue.

There was a discussion about this yesterday in #announcements channel on slack, for anyone interested.

Its hard to get into slack, the link in the first post still doesn't work. Most Byteball users are not in the slack, but I think a majority would welcome a unit change.

The auto-invites are disabled due to the overwhelming spam couple of months back. The OP will be updated with the new invite page, when it is ready. You can still DM cryptkeeper here and ask for a manual invite. The slack URL is byteball.slack.com

Just a thought... is it possible to see where a textcoin has gone? Can you see the address or device that has claimed it?

Yes, when you create a textcoin to be redeemed, it goes to a new address.
When someone claims it, it then goes to their address.

You (meaning the sender) can see it on the Dag explorer.

Also, I can re-claim it if it's not claimed.
I've sent out 8 transactions today.  The first three were only claimed about an hour ago, while the rest were being claimed shortly after posting them.

At this point, they have all been claimed except this new one:

Here is your link to receive 0.0015 GB: https://byteball.org/openapp.html#textcoin?sugar-invest-tuna-save-curve-stove-spice-practice-surface-solar-delay-wife

Who needs more distribution rounds if we have Michail?  Cheesy

Good job!

Freebe now generates you a printable PDF for your vouchers!
Create, print and hand out byte or blackbyte vouchers to local newcommers! All combined with a short instruction!

Just print a few, put them in your pocket and hand them to interested people.

http://freebe.byte-ball.com

That's a great feature and I will give out free vouchers on facebook to get some more users into Byteball!

Byteball has confirmation-time about 30 seconds: http://www.tangleblog.com/2017/01/03/byteball-vs-iota-token/
But what is the maximum TPS (transactions per second) can reach Byteball at this moment?
Were there any stress-test?

According to the lead dev, currently 10-20 tps due to missing optimizations:
So Byteball 10-20 tps at this moment is slower than Blockchain: Ethereum (20 tps), Bitcoin-Cach (50 TPS), Litecoin (50 TPS).
I think this is the main reason why the Byteball is undervalued, because high TPS is the main declared advantage of byteball.

What are you talking about? The slogan on byteball.org is ‘Smart payments made simple’, nothing about tps there. The devs concentrate their work to increase adoption with a wide range of features, no need to optimize tps yet. The potential is there because one of the things limiting throughput are blocks but other pieces must fall into place as well to achieve higher tps.

i can't say any numbers, there was no serious work on performance yet. There could be multiple ways to improve: better caching, less database use, more operations in memory, optimizing the sync procedure to minimize idle time, figuring out how to use more than one cpu core, plus many ways i didn't even think about

Maybe it’s already more because 1.11.3 introduced a sync optimization but no benchmark was taken yet.
