I'm interested, please check your PM.
942  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How i can undrervolt Ant minter s1 ???????????? on: March 16, 2014, 01:03:04 AM
Wait, I thought the BM1380 was for the S2? Do the S1 and the S2 use the same chip? Why did I think they were using different chips? I've been sick this week, and a little out of it, so my apologies for any confusion.

Yep the S1 and the S2 use the same chip.

Lets say we went with the 0.75V @ 205MHz, and OC'd it to 245MHz. Each S1 would be making 125GH/s, and pulling 82W at the chip). That means @20% inefficiencies, and adding the fixed costs = ~130W. 8 ants would be making 1TH/s while only using 1040W (from the PSU, which means 1140W from the wall).

Sounds great  Smiley
We need to find out somehow where that resistor is and what resistance it should be changed to to get 0.75V!
943  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How i can undrervolt Ant minter s1 ???????????? on: March 15, 2014, 06:08:31 PM
BM1380 chip specs:

Vlotage(V)Hash Rate(GH/s)Total power(W)J/GH
0.751.601.070.68
0.852.001.690.85
1.002.502.821.13
1.102.803.701.32

It would be great to figure out how to undervolt S1 properly to get the best power efficiency.

To devs. Please cancel all mined blocks from 40, 41, 42k's when ever first fork formed, make us all happy miners again. (I'll get some lost too)
+1
945  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: March 15, 2014, 01:00:51 AM
Have you tried running it with another PSU?  I use 2 HX850s to power 3, and i was getting a sleu X on chips when i was running two on 1 PSU.  Try getting a 550W + PSU with 2 12v rails and PCI cables that arn't split and see if some of those Xs go away.  Remember to run the unit for a while because the X has taken at least 5 min to update on me before.

Also, try SSH into and and lower the clock setting in the asic-freq file located at /etc/config

You seem to know stuff, but just in case any noobs need a tip here is how to do the freq adjustment.  Start with the lowest setting, and let it mine for about 10 min before you trust the X count.  If all work move to the next freq settings.

Download Putty, and connect SSH to your miner via its IP address

type "cd /etc/config" to get to the proper place
type "vi asic-freq" to open the file you need to change
Hit "i" to enter edit mode
using arrows keys, move to the freq you want to use, and remove the # in from of all three lines.
move to the activated freq (one without #) and add the # in front of each line
Hit the escape key to leave edit mode
type ":x" and hit enter
type exit to leave putty
log into your miner via browser and apply settings on the miner config page to change to the new freq.

I own 12 S1s and have had plenty of time to troubleshoot problems, if you need more help don't hesitate to ask me in a PM.

If i helped anyone that wants to tip, please donate to the Against Hunger Foundation (http://againsthunger.org) Their BTC addy is 16EUDLfnDuQnFt9BviqpURHPpaa5oFxN2n

They do really good work and could use the funding!

Also tried it with Delta DPS-2000BB server PSU, all the same.

Didn't try to underclock it yet.
Wanted to play with underclocking anyway, I wondering if it possible to make S1 more power efficient.
It would be great to achieve S2 power efficiency with S1 units as their price goes down and  difficulty goes up, but probably it would require undervoltage too?

Thanks!

From the very beginning I was impressed by this coin.I did not argue anyone on this forum.I have a right to draw attention to the warning when something goes wrong.Because I want that this coin succeed ,may be more than you think.

Thanks to developer and team

Over 613.556 versioncoins generated. Will pools start when will be mined over 1.000.000 coins?
It looks like you have no idea how the things work and what's going on. Why you keep posting that crap here?

I just received another S1 today and this one was used big time. Lots of Chinese dust all over the PCB boards and fan blades. Should I contact them and have them replace it?

Also might be a sign of things running out and new model coming out.

You are lucky that your S1 works.

I received heavily used and semi-dead S1 from them.

All covered in dust, heavy smell of burnt electronics, a lot of dead chips - one blade shows 8 ASICs instead of 32.
It hashes only at around 120 GH/s and sometimes just stops hashing with beeping sound, needs power cycle to start again.

I paid 130 euros customs tax for this unit, and it would cost around 200 euros to ship it back to Bitmain and then I have to pay another 130 euros to customs for the replacement unit.
Just does not worth it.

So Bitmain sold me a dead unit and now just stopped responding to my messages.

1) screenshot?
2) what is your PSU - dead chips and rebooting are common signs that your PSU is a bit too weak (you need one rated 550W+ with at least 500W on the 12V rail to run properly)

1) here is the photo of my monitor screen
2) I run it with Corsair RM850. It's a pretty good PSU, I have another two of them powering two Ants S1 each without problems.

Actually I don't care much just was sort of disappointed when paid heavy customs tax for this unit only to find that it's all dusty and semi-burnt.

you don't pay nothing to send it back, they will pay, and they will ship you a new one, if what you told is true, u make a photo and a screenshot.
else i don't belive you at all.
they have 10000 of customers, and no one point that(one blade shows 8 ASICs instead of 32), you are the first one.
or, you didn't buy from https://www.bitmaintech.com , and you got scamed.

Bitmain told me that I have to ship it back by myself.
I've sent them a photo / screenshot.

I don't care if you believe me or not.

I'm not the first one, if you read Antiminer topics at this forum you will find people with similar problem - dead chips.

or, you didn't buy from https://www.bitmaintech.com , and you got scamed.
I bought 5 units directly from them. 3 were new and good, one was used but good and another one used and defective.

952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [V] Version - Rare Desirable NO PREMINE Store of Value -->> v0.8.2 UPDATE on: March 12, 2014, 12:09:13 PM
What is going on? Vote on cryptsy  etc. Polls are down for miners but you want to sell on all markets. This coin was mining for 12 days  (400.000 versions mined or 20% of all) and difficulty is so high like bitcoin who is mining for 5 years. This coin it seems to be fer for all miners.

What are you talking about? Coin has some problems with the chain which will be fixed soon. Just have some patience and wait, don't spread FUD!

Come to zeuspool. It's been up and running exactly 3 minutes after the update to the source

It shows Division by zero warnings at http://v.zeuspool.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=blocks

Right now I mine alone at http://ver.sumpool.com/
Looks like it works OK. Confirmations come very slow for some reason and found blocks appear very late but for me it works much more stable than zeus.

Hi, this is Yishan from reddit.  I am the CEO of the company.

I just want to confirm that this is NOT affiliated with reddit in any way, and the developers responsible do NOT have permission to use our name or our logos.  Please do not "invest" in this (it also seems a bit scammy...).

Also, if the developers do move forward with launching the coin, we will be forced to take legal action to protect our trademarks (something you have to do to avoid dilution).  I don't want to do that, so I would really prefer it if the devs responsible for this would voluntarily shut down this project.  Again, it is not in any way sanctioned by reddit.

958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gridseed GC3355 -Hybrid Scrypt/SHA256 ASIC on: March 04, 2014, 04:38:40 PM

Gridseed is doing 300 khs at 50-60 watts these days. They claimed 10 watts, but none of the reviews show that low power use.

Even a $200 ($230 now) R9-270 will do 450khs at 150 watts. Hardly 10-20x the power.

Just checked, my 10 Gridseed units running at about 3500 khs total in scrypt only mode doing 70 watt on the wall. It's less than 7 watt per 300 khs.

We thank everyone for supporting us in the postivie aswell the negative way .  Smiley

So this coin has no relation to Reddit and just uses their name and logo without permission, correct? Please answer.
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [V] Version - Rare Desirable NO PREMINE Store of Value LAUNCHED on: March 02, 2014, 09:37:50 PM

Folks, for this coin to be reliable the pool operators can't simply copy/paste it into the MPOS.  We've gone through a TON of work/rework to make this coin stable and allow for you to mine it! Those pools are showing RPC connection errors because they haven't taken the time to fix their pool to work correctly with Version.

With that in mind, v.zeuspool.com is very stable.

I'm trying to mine at v.zeuspool.com with my Antminers right now but miners switch to backup pool every few minutes for some reason.
