Good grief to the sellers....

Mintcoin has way to much going for it to be sold at a loss now. It is the only high interest paying PoS coin with real development still behind it... You can dump into my buy order at 4 if you wish though.

What development is behind it right now? What is happening to build value to the coin? In the past week I've seen nothing other than trying to get it on exchanges (which doesn't help add value). Past this, what's going on?

-Mintcoin already has 57 merchants
-We are listed on all major alt coin exchanges, AND Bitcoin exchange Vault of Satoshi
-Coin control
-Android coming soon
-Pays 20% interest 1st year, 15% 2nd, 10%, and then 5% per every following year. Get paid every 20 days.

I guess I don't understand your question. We don't really need development at this point, other than maybe a bootstrap for the wallet download. An awareness campaign maybe?

The coin is fine, and really the only thing driving other coins at this point is hype. Hype has never really been the Mintcoin way. Mint took off like a rocket when it was announced because it was a brilliant, original idea. It still is! So I have no idea why the price is down so much. Mint is still the king of it's category(High interest PoS).

Things take time to develop,(foundation, and android wallet) but they are being worked on, and in the meantime I would suggest people pick up some cheap coin.

I've been off the thread for a while, and reading the last few pages I see some despair about the price.  I'm not really worried because I see good buy oppurtunities, but anyway I think I know something that could help boost price.

A working tipbot on reddit.

If any members of the community are up to the task, you would be doing a great service to the community. The current reddit tipbot is run by reddit user talkb1nary, but he doesn't really have time to maintain the thing.(not currently working, don't deposit) He has stated he would hand over the code to a motivated community member. Thanks to anyone who can help.

need help can seem to figure out why wallet 1.9.1 says minting 1 days then reopen wallet next day 22 hours and then today it says back to 1 days Huh?

The estimate is based on how long you'll have to leave the wallet open. This is how it gains weight. So, if you have a 22 hr estimate, then close your wallet, you're going to be looking at another 22 hrs when you open it again. Sorry   Embarrassed

Remember, the network is secured by the minting process. Mint is nice, because you don't always have to open your wallet, but when you do you have to do your fair share to secure the network. Hope this helps you understand.

Did you see the new wallet? It actually tells you how long until your next reward, and allows you the option of unlocking the wallet for minting only, thus keeping your coins secure. Really great stuff:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ys3qsvu18lv10vc/MintCoin.zip[/size]
Has this been updated in the OP?
It's showing version 18 as the latest, that's the version I have but I see no notification of next reward anywhere?

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place

They haven't put it on the website yet, but the wallet is compiled by Kergecoin.(who has done our previous wallets) I use it and it's great- 21 hours till reward  Smiley. Use the link all the way at the bottom of the post below:

Hey everyone.
I dont know if anyone has done it yet, but heres the latest Windows wallet with minting icon and tooltip.
Another minor change is that it now sorts all transactions by Date. instead of Status.

Just unzip and copy to your mintcoin folder. for safety i suggest to backup your .dat and old mintcoin-qt just in case.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5vo29iagx3htef/mintcoin-qt.zip

Heres how it looks:

Im not the one who implemented it. I just compiled it. Big thankyouz goes to skwurp from github.  Wink

PS. Wallet may be bit laggy during sync. Once its synced, it will work perfectly.

i dont get it started, error mentioning QtCore4.dll missing? Also is the unlocking problem fixed ? Last i heard was that
there were some problems with the unlocking part of the new 1.8.1 wallet that needed more time to get fixed ?
Also is issue 13 merged in this update ? (Remove misbehaving peer's reported block count from peer block counts wh...)

qwizzie

Edit : did some digging.. that QtCore4.dll was last put in wallet 1.7 .. wallet 1.8 had lesser files and we were advised
to just delete everything from 1.7 before extracting 1.8

I uploaded only exe. Heres reupload with dll files included if you deleted them:

Mintcointeam or David, can you please confirm what happened with mintbay.net? I would just like to actually hear from someone affiliated with Mitcoin before I continue to use the site, as I was not expecting it to suddenly change and would like to know that it is in fact valid and was an intentional change before I consider using it further. I don't think that is unreasonable or hostile.

I can tell you that mintbay was launched independently of mintcoin. I believe the the guys name is Unekpl or something like that on reddit. You can find more information there. Reddit is great.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 01:41:47 AM
I never said blackcoin wallet didn't have the staking feature, only mentioned that Mintcoin has it now.

Ok, my bad. It seemed to suggest that as a reason to leave Blackcoin for Mint and I didn't read closely enough.

I gotta be honest here, I only posted in this thread because we have been getting trolled hard by a few members of BC community. Mr. Random, Alphaminer(same person I believe) and now Geode. I read a few pages back and saw that Geode proposed going on the mintcoin thread and telling people to sell and buy blackcoin. The community here shot him down pretty hard. I'm sorry, I didn't read that before I posted. My apologies.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 01:30:37 AM

I guess I should have said the only pure PoS coin that pays interest. I didn't realize they were adding blackcoin.  I was wrong about the multipool too, it doesn't even seem to be online.

Seriously though, have you checked out Ultracoin?  http://ultracoin.net/

You were also wrong about the 'unlock for staking only' GUI feature. That was added over a week ago. Blackcoin has rapid development. Cheesy

The pool has had some problems with DDOS today, but those are temporary at best and the pool will only become stronger for it.

FUD doesn't work when almost every point you make is provably wrong.

I never said blackcoin wallet didn't have the staking feature, only mentioned that Mintcoin has it now.

Mint's good, but we should consider selling some Mint off and buying some Blackcoin, you know, for the sake of diversification. Diversification spreads the risk around. Just in case Mintcoin loses traction and drops to 1 satoshi, you can fall back on Blackcoin. Then sell some Blackcoin and buy Mintcoin when Mintcoin is cheap, at 1-2 satoshis.

You're absolutely right. Diversification is very important, that's why I sold my blackcoins and put them into Ultracoin. Of course I already hold a fair amount of Mint. But for people looking to diversify, I think it's a really good time to get out of blackcoin and put their money into a more developed coin. The multipool for blackcoin has dried up, so there's nothing really left to drive up the price.  Angry

If people have yet to buy Mint, I highly suggest doing so. Did you see the new wallet? It actually tells you how long until your next reward, and allows you the option of unlocking the wallet for minting only, thus keeping your coins secure. Really great stuff:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ys3qsvu18lv10vc/MintCoin.zip

And remember, Mintcoin is the only pure Proof of Stake coin listed on https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/

For people that don't know, VaultofSatoshi is a highly regulated Canadian exchange which is important in an increasing regulated cryptocurrency environment.

Yeah, Geode has outed himself over here as trying to get you to leave Mint. And I've asked him not to, as has other people here. However, it doesn't help your case that your post is also misinformed

"The multipool for blackcoin has dried up, so there's nothing really left to drive up the price.  Angry" In your dreams.
"And remember, Mintcoin is the only pure Proof of Stake coin listed on https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/" Not any more!  Grin

Perhaps you should follow your own advice and diversify by buying some BC?

Hi Guy,

May be you can help me. I have Mintcoin since 24/02/2014. I received Minted coins from this date + 20 days. But i have a lot of mined coin unconfirmed (Generated but not accepted). I am on mac with mac wallet and i have always make the wallet update (i have actually the v1.8 ). This situation it is very frustrating. Can you help me?

Thank you

Notice that you were eventually paid. The gray stakes were not accepted, the black ones were, think of it as a mining process.
