21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO] Primalbase: Distributed Workspace for Tech Community - June 26 on: September 15, 2017, 12:15:53 PM
I got this message...In attention to all Ethereum Holders:

Due to the ETH fork happening later this month, we decided to implement two factor   authentication on all Ethereum wallets.

Wallets unprotected with 2FA will not support the upcoming fork and funds may be lost.

Please visit Myetherwallet.com to upgrade your wallet to the new security level.

We are taking this   measures to protect both you and our network from phishing and malicious attacks.

Thank you for your cooperation and   understanding,

The Ethereum DEV team.
Is it in any way related to the above post??

No that is a phishing attack.  If you clicked on the link and logged in you have lost all your ether and ether tokens.

I think bounty is very important, why is that, because bounty assigns tasks to bounty hunters to promote a project or platform. because not everyone knows about a project because that's why it takes promotion

People who buy the tokens do that for free.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kexcoin - Introducing student accommodation to the blockchain on: September 12, 2017, 04:18:11 PM
Bounty, do you have any, social media bounty

If you want a bounty buy the coin in the ICO.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: September 03, 2017, 08:23:35 PM
It's not fake FUD.  It is an issue I have raised before.  We should be conscious of it rather than dismissing it.

Well, we could decide to rename that thing - maybe just XEL? Or we could write it with a "k" at the end? We could also try to find out if this would be necessary first. It's up to you @community.

Yes that would be one way to get round it.  In fact I may be wrong but I think Elastic itself may be considered too generic to be copyrighted anyway.  So Elastik (assuming nobody else has used it) would be better.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🌟🌟🚀[ANN][04.07] ICO Starta - Cross-Coin Venture capital on the blockchain🌟 on: September 03, 2017, 01:17:55 PM
For Russian speakers:

Article about the portfolio start-up AGRI EYE

"В 2017 году компания AGRI EYE прошла акселерационную программу Starta Accelerator в Нью-Йорке, получив инвестиции в объеме $130 тысяч"

http://firrma.ru/data/news/75252

That's are very nice informations!

Can you tell us where or how, owners of Starta tokens will get "dividends" or any other earnings from ICOs from your portfolio?

i'm not aware they are going to be distributing dividends. are they?

i still have some STA in my account. i'm also interested to know when they could give us the dividends. if thry do i'd be keeping the token for retirement.

There are no dividends.  If there were the SEC would crack down on this immediately.  Instead the company (Crosscoin) will buy back tokens.  I'm surprised people don't even read the basics in the whitepaper before they get involved.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: September 03, 2017, 12:25:21 PM
If elastic grows they will have some trademark issues with ElasticSearch. Kind of a supercomputer as well, just not decentralized, and focused on data analytics.

https://www.elastic.co/

Newbie account registered today making his first and only post here to mention possible future issues? (these are not an issue anyway so your fud is not very successful)
Hmmmm... I wonder if that is a coincidence...

It's not fake FUD.  It is an issue I have raised before.  We should be conscious of it rather than dismissing it.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IS THIS A JOKE? on: August 31, 2017, 11:40:52 PM
It's not for that competition it is about another competition from March although it still doesn't make sense since that was a competition too and not a giveaway.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 31, 2017, 08:17:22 PM
But I dont know why waves is not listing yet on poloniex?

1. Poloniex will never list Waves because they have some sort of personal beef with Sasha.

2. If you are still using Poloniex then you should be ready to lose all your money as they seem to be giving all the same signals that Mt Gox and Cryptsy did before they failed.  It is better if Waves is not associated with them in any way.

3. There are way more important exchanges like Bithumb that would be more beneficial adds (instead of being a liability).
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 31, 2017, 08:11:58 PM
Waves is being held back maybe by whales or maybe just slow user adoption. but soon enough we should see waves reach new all time highs.

This idea that whales are holding back the price is unlikely to be true (at least in isolation).  Those kind of whales exist even for Bitcoin but they have very limited success.

The main difference is lack of volume.

In order to have sustained price rises you need both volume and demand.  Unfortunately Waves will only get that by being added to some more major exchanges particularly in the Far East.

Those kind of additions are what made other coins coins have stratospheric rises even in cases where they had less to offer.

Right now many of the big new crypto nations have minimal awareness that Waves is on the radar - even if they do they may not be willing or able (due to language barriers) to trade on Bittrex and the DEX has zero liquidity so major players will not touch it.  The sooner we get added to more major exchanges the better.

DEXs may be the future but they are most definitely not ready for the present.

They won't be until they are mature enough to give the same user experience and ease of use as centralised exchanges - even then it will take time to attract the volume necessary to be viable.

So for now we are stuck with relying on centralised exchanges and that should be a priority for Waves right now.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 29, 2017, 08:07:30 PM
I'm not sure it is possible to do 2FA without centralisation which would create a massive security risk - something which runs counter to the whole principle of cryptocurrency.  That is why no other major coin has implemented it yet.  Perhaps someone will come up with a way of doing it securely but it may never happen.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 29, 2017, 03:54:59 PM
Just bought 1200 Waves I hope it won't dump more Smiley

It will definitely dump now Wink

to the post above
Bittrex as a US exchange is controlled by the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

On its home page it says
 USA Based
Proudly based in the United States, we collaborate with experts in USA financial law to ensure that we remain in compliance with the evolving legal landscape and always available to our worldwide community. Our firm dedication to being legally compliant and fully regulated means that we were one of the first companies to apply for New York’s Bitlicense, allowing us to proudly serve New York customers.

Exactly.  I thought everyone knew Bittrex was American - not sure why that guy would presume otherwise.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 28, 2017, 03:52:58 PM
I believe that in the current cryptocurrency climate where even LTC is worth more than $50, WAVES is grossly undervalued.

Given its superior utility and partnerships it should at least be on a par with LTC (which whilst older does not really have any utility beyond being a currency and even then you can't buy much with it).

WAVES should be in the top 10 at the very least, and most probably in the top 5.

I think the major reason for this undervaluation is the fact that WAVES is not available on any major exchanges in China, South Korea or Japan.  These markets are huge for cryptocurrency.

I would suggest that if Sasha and the WAVES team are not already in talks with Far Eastern exchanges already this should be a huge priority.  It will not only bring in more money and volume but will also increase the profile of the platform.

In relation to this it seems that South Korea is about to formally recognise Bitcoin (following the lead set by Japan).  The South Korean exchange Bithumb (https://www.bithumb.com/) has recently established itself as one of the major players in the space.

The increase in volume created by addition to Bithumb has at least been partly credited with a surge in the prices of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Cash, Monero and most recently Litecoin. (see this article from Coindesk: https://www.coindesk.com/litecoin-price-surges-to-new-all-time-high-of-over-60/)

I would therefore suggest talking to Bithumb first as they seem to be more eager to add new currencies and an addition just before a formal bitcoin recognition would potentially lead to a massive boost in volume and interest in cryptocurrencies in general.

Waves could be in place to take advantage of that - just imagine if local South Korean companies started creating their own loyalty tokens based on the Whoppercoin model.

-It would be huge and I suspect many other large exchanges (particularly in the region) would then be falling over themselves to list Waves.

If I were Sasha I would make this the no. 1 current priority as it would only serve to strengthen Wave's position and make building further deals and partnerships easier.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: August 27, 2017, 10:07:24 PM
Anyone who is still using Poloniex should get out while they still can.  It looks to be getting ready to do a Mt Gox.  Even if it doesn't there is no reason to take a risk with your funds (even if they are trading funds).

As for exchange adds there are plenty of legitimate exchanges and I'm sure they will add Elastic in time.

It is still very early days.  Let EK and CoralReefer get on with the important stuff for now and worry about more exchanges when we have the finished product.

At that point I suspect exchanges will be falling over themselves to list, rather than us having to beg them.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kexcoin - Introducing student accommodation to the blockchain on: August 23, 2017, 09:35:18 PM
not sure you will have to check with Soul_eater_123 he seams to know how to without bounties to attract more community or he just does not want it to succeed

It's basic economics.  If you only attract people seeking bounties that will not bring in any actual investment money.

I think it would be better to give out bounties as a bonus on top of what people have already purchased - so if you use the signature you get an extra 5% bonus on top of what you buy (depending on how much is available).

That way you ensure that people who get the bounty have some "skin in the game" (giving them a greater incentive not to dump) and it is shows that you value the people who actually invested.

Screwing the real investors by giving out tokens for next to nothing does not make economic sense.  Just because other ICOs have done it does not mean that it was helpful or indeed valuable.

Anyway we are not going to agree on this so further back and forth is pointless.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kexcoin - Introducing student accommodation to the blockchain on: August 23, 2017, 09:32:31 PM
and what proof do you have that the bounty coins are first to get dumped none probably and in fact i still have every one of my bounty coins that i earned

I have heard numerous people on here and in other forums talking about it - some almost make a job of it - they go to every ICO and grab what bounties they can and harvest them with numerous accounts then dump them as soon as they reach an exchange.. Whether you dump or not your "free coins" are subsidised by the people who actually pay - so it is basically an insult to the real investors.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kexcoin - Introducing student accommodation to the blockchain on: August 23, 2017, 02:52:21 PM

Not all the people and not all the times all the people just wants some easy coins.

Bounties attract people who want easy coins.

It is pretty obvious - I suspect you are one of those people which is why you disagree - it is in your interest to pretend it is not so.

I'm not against people earning coins for doing real work, however changing your signature or using Google Translate is not real work.  Neither is spamming BTC talk with pointless comments.  Further a lot of people game the bounty system to get multiple payouts.

By handing out coins in this way you actually devalue the investment of those who put actual money in.

Those bounty coins are the first to get dumped at any price since the people didn't have to pay anything to get them.

Happens every time - you can bury your head in the sand and pretend it isn't true but that doesn't change it.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: August 22, 2017, 07:47:40 PM
any reason for the price decreased?

Dumpers be dumping.  There are 36,816,350.47 XEL in the Bittrex wallet.  Almost half the total supply of coins.

Or people selling when the price is high and then buying back at a lower price when everyone else panics.

BurgerKing in Russia Issues its own Cryptocurrency on Waves

http://blockchainhunt.io epic blockchain developers hunting event! apply!

I could envision this whole Burger King Experiment as being a great use case for custom tokens.  The tokens will be used as the equivalent of loyalty points.  The important thing is not Burger King using them but small businesses creating their own loyalty tokens for a very low cost and with very little effort.  It could also be a way of bringing in non-crypto people in a gentle way.  They may become curious about what WAVES is and what cryptocurrencies are in general.

any bounties?

Depends in what context? We're happy to offer bounties / rewards for anyone that can help the cause. I'm sure if we can get the project in front of the right people it would be a huge success!

The kind of people who want bounties are not going to get the project in front of the right people.  They just want a handout.
