How is Waves different compared to Nxt? And what does it do better?
I'm sorry, but at first glance, I couldn't see how it is really that different from Nxt or maybe the upcoming Ardor? Please discuss.

As the quote says above, I would please like to know what Waves can do better and how can it actually do better than Nxt in terms of adoption and in different business use cases. Anyone? The supply on Yobit is limited since they had to manually do deposits. I'm not even sure if they are still allowing them. That's why the price is higher there. |

regarding polonix, we just want to be listed on it. And for Bittrex, you may no the requirements to be eligible to a crowdfunding operation ? It is a little bit long list ^^ and we do our best to mmet the requirements in time for the ICO phase. You should remove the exchange logos because it looks like they are partnering with you. Most exchanges get very annoyed about that - assuming it is a genuine mistake. If you really want to get listed remove the logos and talk to them about their requirements. |

Well... I think its fair to say that the waves price is recovering despite the negativity in recent weeks. Holding is probably the best and safest thing you could do now. Lets hope the devs announce more partnerships and developments as well as exchanges.
Holding isnt the best and safest thing to do right now. You should be scooping up as much cheap waves as possible. Theres many reason why we are nowhere near the expected price. In a few months you will be kicking yourself for not upping your collection somewhat. I agree with this, doing all I can to get more at these prices too. Once we start trading on Polo it will get dumped to 0.0002 again. So No, i would not buy but sell. everyone is having his opinion. what you said is you already sold and now telling others to do the same so you can buy back in. He's been calling WAVES a scam and telling people not to buy it from the start of the ICO. Now he's pretending he has some and that it's going to get dumped. Seems he can't make his mind up. |

Hello Waves community,
I work for a financial services business that provides a payment request technology to merchants enabling them to send their customers an SMS and email message with a secure link to a tokenized transaction. In short, a utility company sees a customer didn't pay their bill, so they send them an SMS message with a link to a secure page where they can input their credit card billing information and settle their late payment.
We currently go through an acquiring bank which charges 2.9% per card transaction, fees totaling approximately $22 per month, and a $29 annual fee-I know, heresy in the world of blockchain tech.
I've been waiting for the crypto world to come up with a turn key blockchain solution, knowing its only a matter of time before we're able to do these transactions for close to no-cost. My question is, can the Waves platform be that payment gateway?
I'm not quite clear on the Waves functionality as a payment gateway. Essentially, we would need to be able to allow merchants to send customers a link, pay in fiat money, convert this fiat into tokens, transfer tokens to merchant, and convert back to fiat. And it needs to be done reliably, securely, and cheaper than an acquiring bank can do it.
Is this possible?

That's what people used to say about Mintpal. If they can't upgrade their wallet after six weeks then screw them. They seem to be sliding into the pre-Mintpal or Cryptsy implosion phase. Edit: Just to add I hope I'm misreading it because I love trading on Poloniex. Prefer the interface, find it easier to use etc. |

WAVES is no. 1 for volume again on Bittrex. Poloniex still not adding. Very strange.
On a side note but related to their strange behaviour. NAV was recently upgraded to V2.0 blockchain. Polo ignored requests for upgrade from the Devs. Once most users had upgraded to the new blockchain (about 6 weeks ago) - NAV V1.0 started getting pumped on Polo (at one point it was over x10 price and x 10 volume compared to the official NAV 2.0). They are still ignoring the NAV dev teams requests to upgrade. Again very strange behaviour.
I hope WAVES doesn't take too long to launch the decentralised exchange because I'm really starting to lose faith in the competence of Poloniex.
I have noticed this kind of odd and inconsistent behaviour before.
It seems once altcoin exchanges reach a certain level of success it goes to their heads (Mintpal, Cryptsy etc.) and they gradually slip into financial mismanagement, unsafe practices, outright scamming, or all of the aforementioned - this strange behaviour certainly doesn't bode well for them.
I hope it is just a blip and we end up learning that there was a reasonable explanation for it - I will certainly be keeping a more cautious eye on them though.
Edit: I also hope I'm completely off base here and everything is fine at Polo as do like trading there.

Looks like someone is messing around since poloniex has the old wallet. ( I assume new addresses start with N). This has been quite common on yobit when they had wallet under maintenance. If you have NAV on poloniex, it would be a good time to sell there for BTC and buy on bittrex... Odd that the prices on other exchanges haven't gone up to match. It's usually almost instantaneous. It's always good to be cautious when there appears to be an arbitrage opportunity. Bittrex has 4250784 NAV for sale, Poloniex has 221539 (old nav). It doesn't cost much to generate some excitement on polo there... Someone will get excited and buy... or buy elsewhere and try to send to polo and sell. (which they can't) ... and then the buy wall disappears. Yes I agree. I'm jealous! It's frustrating that I can't move some of mine onto Polo sell there, then buy back on Bittrex and get an x 6 (or x 10 a little while back). In this case it would have paid to have left them on Polo but I moved them for the change to the new blockchain. |

It's usually almost instantaneous. well that just brought the new floor up. way up. once poloniex updates. it will be a margin trading heaven. will bittrex sell orders get eaten up to match poloniex. or will poloniex buy orders gets destroyed to match bittrex and alcurex. either way the floor will be much higher then bittrex. back to normal 4k-5k as NAV was back then ? Still makes no sense to me. The price should be the same whether they have swapped or not. Why are people selling for a fraction of the price on Bittrex vs Polo. |

What capacity does waves have? Is there any documentation on scalability, tps? What kind of storage backend is there? Does waves use a database like ETH,BTC? ** just investigating *** You might be best asking those questions on Wavestalk.org - the devs are normally on there. |

Makes no sense. They are still on the old chain aren't they? Still only about 1500 sats on Bittrex. At one point Polo was x10 Bittrex price.
