481  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: January 02, 2023, 07:21:58 PM

On the eve of the New Year, the President of the Russian Federation congratulated (?) the Russians on the New Year, surrounded by fighters who distinguished themselves in a special operation.  His New Year's speech can, in my opinion, be regarded as a strategic plan for conducting a long-term positional war.  With this type of fighting, there is no need to make quick management decisions regarding mobilization.  On the contrary, it is necessary to gradually prepare the Russians for such a development of events.  Over the next 10 years, it is possible to gradually achieve new strategic goals for the transformation of Russia - a significant decrease in the standard of living of the population, the militarization of the economy and the complete abolition of the rights and freedoms of citizens.

Perhaps the task is to turn the Russian Federation into the Russian Empire with the complete abolition of all pseudo-democratic institutions, the restoration of the monarchy and the division of the population into separate estates.  Perhaps this is the path that Russia will have to follow.
russian loves killing - and they enjoy bloodshed
They have a long history - from Afghan invasion till Ukraine - the story goes on and it will keep going.

In my opinion, this is a hasty conclusion....

Most people have an instinctive aversion to war and bloodshed.  It was not Russians who fought in Afghanistan, but Soviet soldiers (citizens of the USSR).

However, people who once participated in a war are potentially ready to participate in the next war, and so on ad infinitum.  But the worst thing is that by competently manipulating the collective unconscious, you can instill in any nation a love of war.  It's like a virus that most people on Earth don't have immunity to.

Perhaps, indeed, world history is influenced not by individual peoples, but by a politically active minority (the so-called passionaries).  They directly affect the collective unconscious of people, inclining them to evil.
Ukraine strike on Russian military and killed Russian troop
Dozens of drones shot down overnight into Monday by Ukraine - during this harsh time the president of Ukraine has urged people to cut down the power usage and remain united during these crucial days.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: January 02, 2023, 07:18:13 PM
It was a memorable final, one we will not soon forget. And Messi can now rightly be called the best player of all time after winning the title. He was also very important for Argentina.
I agree with you, I am personally happy for Messi, he did put his best in in their finals match against France, though i cant ignore Mbappe's efforts, that guy is damn so good that at some point in the game, i began to wish and hope that France would win the World cup again, but knowing that this could possibly be Messi's last world cup, i knew he deserved to win it, and i am glad that he later did together with his team .

The 2022 world cup finals was suspense filled, it was one of the hottest football match I've ever watched.
I think this is just the proper time for Argentina to win the World cup, France tried their possible best with all their best performance but couldn't win the world cup. Messi deserve to be a world cup champion and he ended up having it towards the era of the end of his career.
the world has lost a star Pele ( 1940 - 2022 ) Brazil is mourning
Pele led Brazil in three world cup - as I write  there is 24 hour wake going on in Brazil
Newly inaugurated president Lula will be also attending his wake. That is how the sportsman's are honored - PEle was in hospital when one of the success Brazilian player held the Pele banner. Rest in peace legend.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 01, 2023, 09:39:46 PM

It's true that movies like Avatar have a strong advantage in the visual effects category at awards shows like the Oscars. These movies often rely heavily on
The visual effects is not really a category for the movie itself but for the company that did the CGI and that's still good but that doesn't tell much about the movie. No matter how much it was pushed and pushed and pushed on marketing, even didn't let End Game to have the highest box office and put first Avatar on theatres again just for another run in order to get the top box office to make more marketing on the second one, I have to say Avatar will never be a good "movie".

It is about improvement of the cinematic technology and nothing more. For acting, script, and everything else, even producing, its not the best movie at all, its just there to flex on the tech they can use to make a movie and that's it.
In my opinion the most controversial movie goes to OSCAR - one of the movies JOYLAND which is a Pakistani movies and is banned in Pakistan and nominated for Oscar while people of Pakistan are unable to watch it on the big screen here.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 01, 2023, 09:37:33 PM
I also have another question.... how do you imagine that Argentina, current champions, will perform in the next World Cup without Lionel Messi and Ángel di María?
I think Argentina need to be concerned early on about how they are going to deal with this deficit in their attacking team.

Argentina has excellent young players that can continue from where this team left off. Alvarez, Lo Celso, Romerio, E. Fenandez, Nico Gonzalez, Taglafico, Molina, Montiel, R. De Paul, Lisandro Martinez, Ganacho, Mac Allister are all young players that are very good. They don't need to have a player as good as Messi or Di Maria to win, they only need to play as a team, the same way they played in the Copa America and World cup. For now, Messi is still around and he'll still continue to help them but I doubt he'll be available for the world cup in 2026. I don't know if they have a good goalkeeper like Martinez though but they have less than four years to find one because Martinez won't be what he is today by 2026.

When any team belongs to remarkable player, different kind of motivation works within the team which can motivate even the weaker players to great deeds. Messi's role in the Argentine team is similar. When Messi is in the team, it is not impossible to expect good things from the other players because of the spiritual stimulation. It remains to be seen how the mentioned players play in the upcoming World Cup. The extent of Messi's contribution to the team will also be quantifiable.
That is the main thing - when Ronaldo is on the field then the eyes and camera are on him and when Messi is on the field all eyes are towards him too.
But portugal won one of their matches against SUI when Ronaldo didnot play - so they will be able to find more alternative and young blood will get a chance to play the important matches
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: January 01, 2023, 09:28:20 PM
Martinez was indispensable for Argentina in the final, but actually throughout the tournament. He was extremely unsportsmanlike, but in the end he didn't do anything that wasn't allowed. The management of Aston Villa still wants to talk to him about his (mis)behavior during the World Cup. It is strange that he is reserve keeper of the national team of Argentina, while he is the reserve keeper at Aston Villa. It was a memorable final, one we will not soon forget. And Messi can now rightly be called the best player of all time after winning the title. He was also very important for Argentina.
IT was rude of him to do what he did with his golden glove award. It is well said - you should remain humble during your victory and defeat.
The world was watching them and he was too lousy with his award. But at the end they won and took home the title.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Effect of the FIFA world cup on Qatar's economy on: January 01, 2023, 09:24:54 PM
I'm not sure about according to what we can see there are many people who go to Qatar to watch the games and during this time they surely bought some food and other stuff like that which can bring more demand to the Qatar markets also they used many services like hotels and restaurants and some of these services are provided by the government the profits will go directly into the pocket of their government, so I'm sure if Qatar investing money to build stadiums they also got good profits from the world cup.
I dont think profit was one of the main aims of Qatar ... They are now going to dismantle the stadiums and will dispatch it to the underdeveloped countries. They are donating buses to the poor countries and so on an so forth. They are rich people and they don't care for the profits. Have they had cared for the profit they would not have banned alcohol and would have earned so much money form the alcohol manufacturers
487  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 01, 2023, 09:21:58 PM
I wonder how ordinary people around the world felt the worsening economic situation in their respective countries. I know that although many are very much aware of the soaring inflation, nothing has changed much in their day to day lives. I can observe that in some families. They seem oblivious of how the prices of basic goods and services are rising in double digits.

From my household, however, we can literally taste the economic downturn. It feels odd and sad that we have to sacrifice taste in order to somehow cushion the impact of the economic problems my country is facing. Onion here is already hitting $12.57 a kilo. Depending on the size, that's about $0.63 apiece. Cooking an ordinary dish for a small family requires a bulb or two. During this holiday season especially, we normally need tens of onions. That's not affordable anymore. So we had to greatly reduce the use of onions and try not to care about how the dish would turn out. On ordinary days, onions are even removed from the ingredients.

I had to share this here because it feels like the economic situation has already affected the most basic need of everybody. It seems insignificant because it's only a spice, but I thought that if the economic situation is already affecting everybody's taste buds, it could mean things are getting pretty serious.

I wonder, especially in other countries, how drastic is the change in your daily life that's brought about by this economic downturn?
people are very upset firstly due to the health issues and that on going COVID and other disease
and secondly the prices of all the eatable items has increased to the extreme and they are beyond the reach of the ordinary person.
488  Economy / Economics / Re: Happy New Year "residents" bitcointalk !!! :) on: January 01, 2023, 09:20:08 PM
A happy new year to you too OP.
It’s sad to witness how Russia continues to commit crimes against humanity by shelling residential neighborhoods, schools and even medical health facilities. This shows that Putin is desperate and willing to go all out to break the will and resilience of the Ukrainian people. But the Ukrainians are dogged and despite the odds, are gradually overcoming the tyrant and defending their homeland.
Ukraine will be victorious!

Happy New year from Finland and Slava Ukraine OP.

I have a terrible flu so i'll be celebrating my new year by looking fireworks behind the window, drinking hot chocolate with whip cream, gambling some, and browsing internet, while playing far cry 6 and making sure that my dog doesn't get freaked out by the noise and loud bangs coming from outside.

Tonight i'll be leaving those altcoin charts and new nfts alone. My portfolio can survive trough the new year without 24/7 management, least i hope so.

I’m sorry you’re down with the flu. It’s a bummer to have everyone around you celebrating and screaming their lungs out while you’re indoors and down with the flu.
Personally, I prefer staying indoors with my booze, peace, quiet and my call of duty. And I think a fireworks display seen through the window is just as swell. Happy new year and get well soon!
there are different variants of COIVD and most of the people are down and coughing - its is viral in our country too.
Happy new year  - may you have a healthy and prosperous new year. Ameen

He deserves such an award because he played vital roles that made Argentina win the world cup. He didn't allow all the efforts of Argentina players to go in vain just like the goalkeeper of France who was not able to catch up most of the game. Martinez Emiliano deserved to be the best goalkeeper of the world cup.
There were other goalkeeper too who did so well during the world cup - although the players played so well. and at the last moment the whole burden in on the goalkeeper. luckily Martinez won.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 01, 2023, 06:57:41 PM
Kids these days have different way of thinking compared to us before. And their interest might have also been shifted like they focus more on drama and horror movies, gone are the days where cartoons and comedy are the kids favorites. However, I haven’t been interested in Oscar’s betting even before, although I love to watch some of these movies but I have not thinking betting on them.
People and kids are not much interested in award these days - they are more interested in games and action movies.
And we were more interested in awards. The trend is changing. I remember we were so interested in awards and we knew who got what award.

Gold is one of the stablest investment because it is growing at steady rate for centuries so its good to have in everyone's portfolio, it may not make an investor rich but definitely can be a life saviour from inflation and economic crisis. Problem with the gold is which needs to be secured in a safe that is why it is impossible to keep huge amount by a personal whereas bitcoin is digital asset anyone can keep it in on their own no matter either its few sats or a million bitcoins in one place.
There has to be a lot of gold in order to not fit in the safe, so this is not the biggest problem with gold. The problem is to transport it with you across the border to another country, or the problem is that the bank will sell you gold much more expensive than you can sell it back, and it will take a lot of time for the price to rise to the purchase price.

Bitcoin has a number of advantages, although it is not as stable in price as gold.
if you are good at investing and you have a mentor who can guide you well - than go for it.
I lost 3000$ and got scammed and I spent so much time in recovering it.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 31, 2022, 04:32:52 AM
France was no where in the final neither with the ball not with attack and strike.  The penalty at 80th minute changed all the scene of game and than another goal from Mbappe, this is definitely most interesting world cup I have ever watched because of the passion from both teams no one gave up till the last minute.

I was having a discussion with one of my friends. He was saying that the tackle (that resulted in penalty) was necessary as France would have scored otherwise. I disagreed. Even if they had conceded a goal, it would have been better. Look at what happened after the tackle. France was awarded a penalty, Emiliano Martínez got a yellow card, and more importantly Kylian Mbappé added one more goal to his kitty in the form of penalty kick (which enabled him to win golden boot). Martínez was very cautious after this, as he was already booked. If they had conceded the goal, it would have been still better.

Argentina goalkeeper Martínez won the Golden Boot one of the reasons he made a late save.  There were only 28 seconds left in overtime.  If that goal had not been saved by Martinez, Argentina would never have achieved the dream of the World Cup in Qatar.  Because France was ahead by 1 goal, while Martinez worked hard to save pelanty of goals.  Due to which Golden Boot gets martinez.
Matines won the golden glove and Mbappe won the golden boot
Correct me if I am wrong.

So this next world cup will be held in the entirety of North America...
I have got nothing against people from Qatar or Islam, but I believe it is better this way at least people will be able to get some beer, the food their want and won't get arrested for showing support towards anything specific and most importantly, there will likely not be any controversy because the death of workers.

Eager to see how Latin-American team will perform there.

Qatar paid a lot to have a world cup in their country but i think for them it paid off . They got so many people to visit their country and it was good for their country to be seen. But yes still problems with beer and some other stuff shouldnt happen but still its their country and their rules it has to be respected.
the world don't think beyond the beer and the life starts without beer. In our religion we are forbidden to drink alcohol and we strongly follow that.
Life is colourful and have to spent on the thing which are predictive - wine and beer are no use seriously.

Compared to a deposit, of course, investment is the best option to continue to grow our money, in the past,
Yes, now it's a wise choice to prefer Investment over deposits, actually there are several places to invest and guarantee good, we can invest in Gold or Cryptocurrency, it's just that I'm more interested in Cryptocurrency which is actually equally profitable, because both are very valuable , one of which is very appropriate if we invest in Bitcoin or Altcoin rather than deposit.

But there are also some people who prefer to keep their money in the bank, but I prefer the name investing, depositing and saving money is pointless, now it's better to invest.

If you already have broader knowledge of investment, then you are good to go. There are many advantages with investment compared
by simply deposit or saved your money.

Though there is also a risk that you need to understand when taking an investment, there's no guarantee unless
you really focus yourself on collecting knowledge about your chosen investment and you are willing to give your time
and patience to wait for your success.

that is correct - I have seen many people with no university degree earning more than the graduate.
Some people have no shame is doing things - big or small... and they are the most successful of all.
Hard work is a key to success.

investment is surly a good thing to do - if. you gave great mind to decide what to do and what not to
People like me loose money and peace of mind after investing because most of the time - they meet the scammer and don't know what to do after they are scammed and looted.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 26, 2022, 09:23:51 AM
People assume that it is an easy thing, I have been doing some "hobby" on the side of my job, not that I have been capable of doing it for the past 2-3 months, but I have done it, and I can tell you that finding the right mindset to sit down and do something after work is not easy. I just want my job to be done, so I can sit in front of the tv with a cold beer and watch some netflix and fall asleep on the couch, because life is already so tiresome.

To drag your feet to another job, to make some side income and then hope that it would become a business? That's just not that easy, it requires you to have some amazing passion for the thing you do, otherwise it won't work. If you can do it without the money, then you love it and it's fine, but you won't do it just for the money for too long if the money doesn't come.

I certainly agree with it. Doing a full time job is really tiring and there will be days when we only want to rest for a while so how much more if we have a side hustle? It doubles our earnings yet it needs courage and strength physically and emotionally because it's draining.
It's easy to say but it's challenging everyday. You need a big motivation to finish all the given tasks all in one day. But since we are all in the midst of a crisis now, we have no choice but to grind. We can complain but we have no choice but to grind to earn and survive.
I do prefer doing a part time job and having a side hustle
That is how you have some income coming at the end of the month or a week - - and you don't worry much about the bills and grocery but leaving the work and starting a business is not a good decision. In my personal opinion.

Therefore it is necessary to manage the allocation of funds for certain celebrations. So well organized, I do it ahead of time by saving up for some holiday lists. So avoiding waste is my way of coping with spending. Actually, there is nothing special about celebrating now, maybe many people realize that at this time facing next year it is necessary to have an emergency fund rather than having to spend it in one day.
That is correct.
I have now stopped going to the market because when you go there you buy unnecessarily and then you repent because you have over spent. I have no control over myself when I am in mall. The best practice is to stay at home and spend some time on work desk so to earn some money.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter Crypto head and staff resigns on: December 26, 2022, 09:16:56 AM
millions, but I would venture that there would be enough new hires to keep the whole shitshow running.  A fucking warren of rabbits tripping on LSD could probably do it, with the only problem being that rodents don't have strong political biases, and that's what each side of the spectrum expects.

On a related note, it gives me sweet moments of glee watching Youtubers like The Quartering going into full crybaby mode based on what Elon Musk tweets.  Musk just gave The Quartering a fuckin' square rootening for thinking the former ever gave two shits about what the latter had to say about anything at all.  Reality checks are things of beauty when doled out harshly and very publicly.
The essence of work is always associated with attendance lists, the quality of workers and targets achieved, but companies often ignore the concept and work style of optimization which can be achieved even if you don't have to follow company rules. For me, the concept of working in an office today is confusing, there is no freedom given to workers, because they are always bound by the system they design, even though work patterns can continue to be carried out according to individual styles and targets can also be achieved.

Elon Musk applies a robotic way of working, because it is designed according to the wishes of the owner. "work extra hard or leave". For some people, following rules like this is quite uncomfortable. We can still garden and farm to meet our needs, both secondary and primary. Leave this work system, build your own business because life is much more independent.
Musk did call back the people who were needed and who were important to them.
He called back the secuity head - who he has fired and then they were all locked in the office. The staff member tweeted it and Musk thanked him there too.

Well, if you're right, sometimes there are things that children can see at a certain moment and we can't have enough speed to capture them, in fact, in my case I have to be very aware of my son, well With his mother he began to watch things from horror movies and that caused him terrible damage, because he has to sleep accompanied, of course he did that while I was not there, because we are no longer with my child's mother, currently I have another wife and a baby, and to remove that fear from my 7-year-old son is very difficult, it has cost me a lot, so sometimes because of someone's ignorance the children suffer.

Kids of these days are more smarter than the kids of our time - they know movies - songs - season and to my surprise they like Korean, Turkish and other languages series - thanks to the subtitle and other language translation that people get a chance to know about these dramas and plays and movies as well
500  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: December 26, 2022, 09:12:04 AM
Money is the tool of a system that people set up and consent to in order to get everything we need and store our savings. But money has ceased to be a tool and has become the object of wishes and desires. Due to the unlimited purchasing power of money, people have not been happy to meet only their basic needs and have pushed their possibilities with the effect of their desires. Having enough money to have food and shelter did not make people happy. As a result, people who are overly fond of money have emerged. Jean-Jacques Rousseau “The money we have is our freedom; the money we are chasing is the instrument of slavery.” he said. He perfectly summed up the bond that humanity has established with life through money. In summary, money is a tool as the primary object of the end, an end for the person who wants to gain power by owning the resources.
I don't know if I am the only one - who feels depressed when there is limited money in my bank account.
I feel sad too. And when I get money - I feel so happy and satisfied that I have no words to explain my feeling of joy. For me it is definitely a motivating factor and without money - my life is so gloomy
