261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Explanation for BTC price drop ? on: February 14, 2013, 12:50:23 AM
It is 22.30 already: volume must be something near the 20k or 25k bitcoins.
A very strong hand just cashed out.

wouldn't that be the definition of a weak hand?

263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin port of Bitaddress.org? on: February 14, 2013, 12:34:55 AM
update 2: i restarted my browser and now it goes solid black at click 21 and 22 (first one QR, then the other)

i also tried on a completely different computer, same version of chrome incognito and couldn't replicate the issue

the computer where it's occurring is extremely slow Windows XP machine... the machine where it works is an i7 with Win 7.

i'll report back if i ever see it replicated on any other machine.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin port of Bitaddress.org? on: February 14, 2013, 12:24:21 AM
I just cloned the latest from github and put this together: http://liteaddress.org/

awesome!

i found a bug in it today though, and then i realised the same bug is also in bitaddress.org...

on the first tab, in chrome 24.x, i clicked Generate New Address many times and a little too fast and eventually the QR codes stopped working and just showing solid black squares

after that, no amount of clicking Generate New Address would bring back the QR codes... it just stayed solid black

i had to refresh the page to get those QRs working again

could someone please try to replicate this?

edit: this time i tried just clicking very slowly and counting... the QR codes still turned solid black after 18 clicks of the Generate button.

What browser are you using? I'm using Chrome and I cannot replicate this problem.

Version 24.0.1312.57 m / incognito mode

the bug doesn't appear for me in firefox, safari, or ie

edit: it also works fine for me in regular Chrome... can you try in an incognito window?
265  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org Safe JavaScript Bitcoin address/private key on: February 14, 2013, 12:17:59 AM
Bug Report:

the QR codes turn solid black after exactly 18 clicks of the Generate New Address button on the first tab

using Chrome Version 24.0.1312.57 m

...this bug has then also carried over to liteaddress.org

edit: i realised this is actually working fine in regular Chrome, but the bug appears in incognito mode only.

You lost me.

it's symbolic

269  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinbase.com sending unconfirmed? Huge risk? on: February 13, 2013, 03:00:05 PM
I run CoinAd.
How should I proceed?

EDIT: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143266

from the other thread:

You could directly ask some large pool operator to please include it. Maybe for a small donation to the pool.

that's essentially what i was suggesting
270  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinbase.com sending unconfirmed? Huge risk? on: February 13, 2013, 12:41:06 PM
I will update if anything happens, as well as let you know anything that Coinbase gets back to me with. I'm not an expert with this bitcoin stuff, but there are not any alternative explanations, right?

in any case, don't give up on the 13 BTC, and keep your wallet backups safe

it's possible that a miner could be offered additional financial incentive after the fact, to include an old unconfirmed TX in its next block

in this scenario, coinad should probably be the one to offer the incentive, although stakeholders such as yourself might also volunteer some payment in order to get it processed

(or coinbase, if they value their reputation)

How? The only address I control is the change address.

doesn't matter what you control

i don't control any of it, but i could still offer Mining Pool XYZ a reward for including that rogue transaction in their next block for me

the tx was initially created by coinad, with an insufficient fee. so i was suggesting that coinad be the ones to offer additional financial incentive to mining pools to get it over the line... financial incentive that probably should have been included in the tx in the first place.

function check_balance()
{

      $jsonurl = "https://blockchain.info/merchant/".$GLOBALS['user']."/balance?password=".$GLOBALS['password'];
      $json = file_get_contents($jsonurl,0,null,null);

echo '<pre>$json = ' . $json . '<br/><br/>';

      $json = json_decode($json);

print_r($json);
echo '</pre>';

       $balance = $json->balance/ 100000000;

   return $balance;
}

let's see what's in that $json var first, so we know why the balance thing is throwing an error

don't know where to find the general 'blockchain.info android' thread...

does anyone know how to turn down the volume of the notification sounds?

even when the phone is on quiet ring, and quiet "media volume" i still get obnoxiously loud notifications from blockchain's wallet.

i wonder if i'll have to resort to actually editing the sound file in an audio editor in order to kill it's volume

The Bitcoin market... one of the few places where "doubled my investment" is accompanied by Embarrassed

yep, for Smiley you need at least 500% ROI and for Cheesy and Grin you need at least 2000%
277  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many of you are overnight millionaires? on: February 13, 2013, 04:08:06 AM
i've done okay in general, but looking back i've definitely taken some wrong turns:

at $2: bought quite a lot
at $32: held them all
at $4: sold most (yay doubled my investment  Embarrassed )
at $5: bought in again
at $10: sold most (hooray doubled my investment again  Embarrassed )
at $25: posts in this thread

didn't have much choice though... in another thread i mentioned that i only sell when i need to, and unfortunately at those points in the market is when i needed to.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PHP error help! on: February 13, 2013, 04:00:49 AM
have you tried this by the way:

$balance = $json->balance / 100000000; // line 33

i'm not familiar with the script you're using... did you copy it from somewhere, or come up with that line yourself?

without further detail, it appears to me that the line you're using is looking inside the $json object for a property or method called $balance and then using the value of $balance to look for a further property or method of $json.

eg.

class jsonClass {
     $balance = 'mybalancevar';
     $mybalancevar = 33;
}

in this case, $json->{'balance'} would equal 33; while $json->balance would be a string: mybalancevar

maomao, before line 33, can you

var_dump($json);

...if possible, pasting the whole script here might help.
