101  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org Safe JavaScript Bitcoin address/private key on: June 02, 2013, 09:10:06 PM
I personally reviewed the liteaddress.org fork at v2.3 and it's trustworthy.

when you did that, did you do a checksum you can share with us? because your 2.3 might not be the same as our 2.3.

what a complete duckwit that guy is.
110  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org Safe JavaScript Bitcoin address/private key on: May 30, 2013, 11:22:38 PM
Hey,

this guy http://www.davidduckwitz.de got a 1:1 copy of your script and writes down that his script is by "danielduckwitz"

i'd be more concerned if it wasn't a 1:1 copy
111  Economy / Economics / Re: This week has given me pause: I'm getting out of BTC on: May 30, 2013, 09:30:08 PM
I've had a lot of fun (and made a lot of money) trading BTC for the past 2 years.  However, this month and specifically this week has given me pause.  I know the Bitcoin bulls will flame me but I am starting to feel the quakes of a major shakeup coming.  It's something we've all been aware of since the dawn of BTC...

I welcome everyone's thoughts on current events.

yes!!! this is exactly the kind of sentiment we need if i'm to purchase more at $70 again. SELL!
112  Economy / Auctions / Re: bitcoinclock.com (domain + website) on: May 30, 2013, 02:14:18 PM
^ okay i guess having 2 different countdowns in the one thread really screws with the animation.

auction ends: 2013-06-01 02:00:00 UTC
113  Economy / Auctions / Re: bitcoinclock.com (domain + website) on: May 30, 2013, 02:11:34 PM
i'm just going to extend this auction by 2 hours. it shouldn't make much difference, but i'd like to be around when it's ending.

please take note of the new ending time: 2013-06-01 02:00:00 UTC

Timer removed. End time: 2013-06-01+02:00:00UTC
114  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTC-E dot com - SCAM and UNPROFESSIONAL <<< BEWARE >>> on: May 30, 2013, 07:20:08 AM
I added this to bitcoinscammers.com sometimes the owners will seek out info and respond or at least try to correct the wrongs.  Please update us if anything changes.

Im not familiar with your site I admit, but WTF !!!!
This guy is a newbie that can't even post a TXID for us to look @ and you're already labeling a good business as a scammer ?

that was my immediate reaction, however after reading the bitcoinscammers website i realised that most things on there aren't being accused of being scams by the site owner, it's more of a review/ratings site.
115  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: May 30, 2013, 01:52:14 AM
Very easily seized by the US at the flick of a switch.
Thats exactly whats worring me, although not their website by the US but the whole company.

oh, i guess people have a choice in who they trust more... the us government, or russian businessmen. for me the choice is remarkably easy.
116  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: May 30, 2013, 01:22:29 AM
I mean the ... layout isn't that superb

i actually also think the layout is far superior to mtgox. On mtgox, you have the buy and sell forms on separate tabs, with no order book or chart at all. btc-e has everything you need right there on one page.
117  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: May 30, 2013, 01:13:45 AM
Pros
  • russian-based
  • trollbox
LOL
How are these Pros?
And im not even mentioning getting cash in or out.
Nor their terrible support once the question is not on their support instructions list.

okay the trollbox item was a bit of a joke, but being russian based is a serious pro, being as far removed from US authorities as possible. For this reason, one of btc-e's cons, is that it uses a .com domain name. Very easily seized by the US at the flick of a switch.
118  Economy / Auctions / Re: thrucoin.com (domain + website) on: May 29, 2013, 09:05:05 PM
What does your traffic look life for thrucoin? Uniques/day? Conversion rates?

around 50 uniques per day with 0.01% conversion rate (most people use johnthedong for escrow these days).

this could be much improved by having an owner that has more time to support it.
119  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: May 29, 2013, 09:34:28 AM
In fact, I'll add that to my list...

Pros

  • russian-based
  • no aml requirements*
  • fully accessible via tor*
  • trollbox
  • less shitty customer service than mtgox
  • alt coins
  • low trading fees
  • built-in charts

*100% anonymous trading

Cons

  • difficult/slow/expensive deposit options for USD
  • lower volume (than mtgox) on btc/usd
  • uses .com domain name
  • uses the same favicon.ico as a billion other sites including this forum - they should use the e from their logo!
120  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: May 29, 2013, 09:27:17 AM
Btc-e is a russian based company

this is definitely a positive
