i opened http://thrucoin.com recently. still some way to go on improving it, but it's available for use now. lol. "The Amount to Send must be at least 1 BTC." are you serious? At Not@las how much is the fee for http://thrucoin.com he said he recently opened the site? 'Recently' was 1 year ago, please check the date on the post. Thrucoin is now officially up for sale, as I really don't have time for it. That includes domain + website. Any active escrows at the time of sale will be finalized before any new owner takes over.

i've just done a duplicate check of my hdd and realised that the files in the 'blocks' subfolder of my bitcoin data directory are exact duplicates of files in the main data directory itself.
is it safe to delete 1 copy of each? if so, should i delete the ones in the main data dir, or delete the ones in the 'blocks' folder?

i might be interested in selling a couple... like bitcoinclock.com... what is your budget?

Every time I run this script, it ends up creating a new Bitcoin wallet, what's wrong with it!?
if you're referring to the script in the OP, you probably mean it's creating a new address, not a new wallet. in that case, that's what the normal bitcoin client was designed to do, and has nothing to do with the martingale script. Why the script does that? Is there a meaningful reason for that? And, I wonder, is it possible to modify the script in such way that it uses the same address every time? Excuse the sack of questions, I'm still learning my way around it, and any help means a lot. Thanks! no, the script is simply telling bitcoin to send a transaction. beyond that, it doesn't have control over change addresses, etc. what you're asking is related to how the bitcoin software works, not how the PHP script in the OP works.

that doesn't take into account how a gradually increasing hashrate makes each key date creep forward just as we saw with the first 210,000 blocks occurring in less than 4 years hence my guess of 2019-ish

90% = 18,900,00 BTC
12 years worth = 18,375,000 BTC
So *without* a calculator, best guess is around 2019/2020.

You should create a new one, and transferring the funds by sending them to an address in the new wallet.
in order to do that with really old wallet files, you'd have to first get a really old copy of the satoshi client up and running... will that even work after May 15?

update! the clock has just had a little makeover. Nice work. May I send a tip? I must admit I've never liked the second hand. Each cycle of the hour and minute hands mark a Bitcoin event but a cycle of the second hand only represents an approximation to 24 hours. I would have a cycle of the second hand represent the addition of a single block. Of course, the classic notion of angle symbolising "progress" toward an event would have to be weakened. I submit the most natural mechanic would be to measure time since the last block, with 10 minutes represented by a half turn, 20 mins by 3/4, 40 mins by 7/8, et cetera. The second hand could then move smoothly. Another consequence is that the position of the second hand at a random time would be uniform, just as with a normal clock. Bonus points for having a more accurate expected block frequency than 10 minutes. I'm certain the idea of cycles of the second hand representing block creations has been raised before. I can't think of a more elegant way of graphically representing the exotic nature of block-chain activity in a clock than with a smooth and gradually slowing second hand. tips always welcome at http://payb.tc/donate thanks your ideas are intriguing and i'll look into in more detail next time i decide to spend time on the site. As usual it was more of a little hobby site so not really a lot of time to make things complicated. the update for the graphics on the clock face was well overdue, being over a year since i made the original blue and red one.

unless you switch over to Armory completely
that's exactly what i'd be doing and why i want the functionality... so i can convert all my old wallets and just use armory exclusively
|
|
|
The armory runs on top of the Bitcoin.org client right? Is there a way to import my wallet.dat file into the Armory client?
unfortunately your question is a duplicate of mine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=145526.0short answer: you can't

THank you! That is what I am thinking too. I will just assign an address for each client that wants to use bitcoins. Keep it simple.
the downside to this is that you have to maintain that same wallet for the life of your business. when it grows to 500mb, and 99% of that is inactive customers, wouldn't it be nice to start a fresh wallet? starting a fresh wallet would be a lot easier if you didn't give customers permanent addresses. something to consider.

Perhaps that would be an easier solution than notifications or marking deleted posts, a read only subforum where all user deleted posts are moved, available for all to read.
We need to somehow see deleted posts because....... preferably in the self moderated topic, in bold print. that way, if someone reads the topic, sees there are 50 deleted posts, and the remaining 12 posts are all positive, they can notice. wouldn't that make it way too easy to get 'legit' threads to look suspicious? just post 50 off-topic replies, wait for OP to delete them.
