1001  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: {ANNOUNCEMENT} WBX Exchange Frozen on: July 17, 2012, 12:50:53 AM
On a positive note, the BTC Chris is holding have increased in value so if they were to be liquidated and distributed now, people would receive a greater amount than they would have a few months back.

unless a few months back they were able to invest them at 7% per week.

where is the source of this text?

private at the moment (a website), but the source contains no further info.

no high-res available; these are from screen caps so i don't even have all the alphabet.

1004  Other / Off-topic / Re: [1 btc bounty] font identification on: July 16, 2012, 04:37:25 AM
maybe it is handwriting cause that looks like no font I know, maybe a varient of comic sans?

no prizes for 'maybe' Smiley i've been through quite a few handwriting fonts and none match so far.

edit: oooooh you mean actual real-life hand-writing? no, the 'a's are all exactly the same, etc.

1009  Other / Off-topic / [1 btc bounty] font identification [BOUNTY COLLECTED] on: July 16, 2012, 04:05:28 AM
is there a site like tineye.com, but for finding out what a particular font is in a submitted image?
1010  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org Safe JavaScript Bitcoin address/private key [BOUNTY 0.1BTC] on: July 16, 2012, 03:40:15 AM
2. run:  bitcoind importprivkey 5Je4KHK15KobUcbj29xATN6z6QgZVxL4rYnBD2kaTzncS6oKmqL   (replace 5J... with the private key given to you by bitaddress)

do you need to type your username and password with every command? if so, what syntax is it?

i've only ever done this through JSON, not actually on the command line.
1011  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 16, 2012, 01:04:33 AM
additional funds incoming to double initial deposits

very handy thanks, just sent it to someone as part of a withdrawal, meaning i didn't have to ask pirate for it. that's always good.

1012  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 16, 2012, 12:21:17 AM
i must admit i developed it 100% in chrome and have never actually tested or even looked at it in any other browser.

it could be complete garbage in the others for all i know... although i'm sure someone would have mentioned it by now if it was.
1013  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MAKE IT EASIER FOR NEWBIES TO KNOW THE RULES ABOUT POSTING on: July 16, 2012, 12:12:49 AM
I think the best is to find a way for the registration page to punch future users right in the eyes. Maybe that'll make them read what they just agreed upon before clicking the Submit button...

Maybe changing "Register" to "Sign In Blood" or something, might draw the eye back to the T&Cs.

and maybe put the part about tasering your dad in bold.
1014  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MAKE IT EASIER FOR NEWBIES TO KNOW THE RULES ABOUT POSTING on: July 15, 2012, 11:33:53 PM
what about make a completely separate website called newbietalk.org and then make bitcointalk.org invite-only.

to get an invite, you have to be a member of newbietalk.org with 4 hours logged and 5 posts to your name.

so it's basically the same set up, but with a separate domain.

just a stupid brain-fart.

which Google apparently thinks is in Malay

what language Google thinks it is all depends on your personal deposit address.

you know, it would only take 6 steps or less to get the 100 btc over to kevin bacon.

and from there, who knows what kind of low-life will end up with them.

1019  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing... BITNOT.ES... Record and share address labels and other info on: July 14, 2012, 12:30:09 AM
I was able to access bitnot.es a few days ago, but it no longer resolves for me.

Did the domain lapse?

yep, disappeared.

practically no one was using it.

if it were really that useful, i'm sure there'd be some kind of clone eventually with better features and better support.
1020  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Circle of Trust [Game/experiment] on: July 14, 2012, 12:10:35 AM
I got the coins and bet them on the pretty safe "under 48000" at satoshidice.

I lost.  Oops.

Sent a different 2.0801337 BTC on to riX.  Hopefully he won't notice it's not the original bitcoin...

It's not the original anyway..

Also, I'm going to bed now, so unless someone signs up within minutes, this will have to wait until at least tomorrow..

i also sent different coins, because i sent out from some confirmed coins while the incoming game coins were still unconfirmed.
