Here is my hopefully worthwhile criticism of the article I just read:

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2016/07/prweb13525983.htm
Quote
The counterfeit-proof hologram sticker is tamper-evident, and has a unique design with the BTCC logo and the words “LIMITED EDITION,” “BITCOIN BLOCKCHAIN BLOCK REWARD,” “NEWLY MINED,” and “N SERIES.” The sticker also contains the public address of the Block, set against a pattern of BTCC logos.

There is no such thing as "counterfeit-proof" anything in this world. With enough money and resources pretty much anything can be counterfeited, even Bitcoin (in a manner of speaking if you have enough hash power).

Perhaps that statement was a mis-speak.

I'm just seeing these for the first time. Lovely design smoothie.

Hey Kialara, long time no see/talk.

Thanks for the compliment.  Smiley

Hi everyone,

For those of you who didn't have enough of the One Bitcoin and the recently launched Five Bitcoin, we've got something new for you!

We're getting ready to launch it, and here's some blurry teaser photos for you to start guessing!

If you guess right about this exciting new product, you will win a discount coupon for the Five Bitcoin!

Another hint coming tomorrow!

thanks,
Bobby

P.S. - We now have more of the popular One Bitcoin, and will start shipping unfulfilled orders on June 30.  These are all part of the same 2-star V Series.

Order yours now at:
https://store.btcc.com/

Another Hint:
- It's only 2-stars, and it's worth more than its weight in gold.

If you're a true fan of Bitcoin, then you'll want one.
(What does the "N" stand for?)

It's coming soon!

(The One Bitcoins are back in stock and we've resumed shipping them today.  There was a big backlog, so some international shipments will go out first thing tomorrow morning.)

thanks,
Bobby

Judging from the last image it doesn't appear to be a coin but a bar?

Looks like there is metal outside of the "circle" of where the coin design exists. Just a guess...

Someone here is paying attention to the details!   Smiley

1289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 28, 2016, 11:05:02 PM
I think this is a very important conversation that massively effects this project.

https://forum.getmonero.org/23/development-and-technical/2567/guys-consider-to-not-jump-into-0mq#post-5080

As someone who has written Python code that uses 0MQ in both PUB/SUB and REQ/REP patterns in multinode clusters with submillisecond response times, I don't think this guy knows what he's talking about.  He seems to have some kind of vendetta against 0MQ.

He even said that Python's gevent doesn't work with 0MQ... which is patently false (in fact, I use a gevent'd 0MQ)...and so do these people:
http://pyzmq.readthedocs.io/en/latest/eventloop.html#pyzmq-and-gevent (official python library docs)
http://sdiehl.github.io/gevent-tutorial/#gevent-zeromq
https://the.randomengineer.com/2014/04/23/using-zeromq-with-coroutines-gevent-under-python/
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=0mq+gevent

He also states that 0MQ "is not the right tool for the job", and then says "I don't know what problem are you guys trying to solve".  So don't argue that it's not the correct tool if you have no idea why it's being implemented.

0MQ is a fine choice and is in heavy(and happy) use in innumerable amounts of projects.

I really don't know, all I know is I asked about any security issues with this change and didn't get a very comprehensive answer and then I saw this guys post.

Can you link me to the DEV discussion on this before the proposal? I'd like to see how it was vetted. This is the highest security level of any type project so this needs to be taken seriously and just a word saying it's all good is not enough.

Also If I was working on a competing project with similar attributes I would tank the current one I was on. That is not an accusation just an observation.

As fluffypony said in a recent talk "request the cryptographic proof of the claims being made."

This is a good attitude you have concerning this topic.

The entire crypto space need more of this.

1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ► ❎ ► LEALANA PHYSICAL LITECOINS FOR SALE - RESUMING SALES!!! on: June 28, 2016, 09:12:10 PM
Hello! I'm going to by some Lealana physical bitcoins from a re-seller.
How can I check that it is still funded, before giving the money?

Ask the seller to take a photo of the coins with their username and today's date. Each coin has an address on the back, from the photo get the addresses of the coins you wish to purchase then check those addresses on the blockchain. This will show you the balance.

http://ltc.blockr.io/

or any litecoin explorer will work.

Another thing to check for is any tampering with the hologram (on the back of the coin). Give yourself enough time to inspect it visually to see if there are any noticeable marks showing any signs of tampering.

1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh Fuck! - This asshole published my private key! on: June 27, 2016, 12:14:42 AM
Ive got hundreds of private and public keys from generating vanity addresses and obviously never collided with another address, i wouldn't be too bothered with this list . If anyone's worried about it there's no need. It doesn't actually contain anyone's private key.
Then you are the moron.  It contains EVERYONES private keys.  furthermore, it is mathematically provably true that this list contains yours and everyone else's private keys.

LMAO

Q: So you don't store a database of every single key?
A: No.

Q: All keys are generated on the fly, based upon the page number?
A: Yes.

Also, try multiplying the number of pages by 128 (that's the number of addresses per page) and compare the result to 2^160? There's much more spaces there than the number of possible bitcoin address

Nobody said he 'stores' the private key. I don't think he has stored these in some giant database.  That would be stupid.  All I said is he published my key.  And he did.  And he published your key too.  You just don't know which page it is on.  But I assure you, your key is there.  And everyone else's key is there also.

Don't be fucking stupid.

Your thread title is Oh Fuck!  - This asshole published my private key!

You are a troll and a loser who has made pathetic calls on youtube only to be proven wrong.

You just recently (in the past 6-9 months) posted that you were selling all your silver and that silver was your worst call. That was when silver was at $14 or less.

Now your youtube channel was deleted lol...
1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh Fuck! - This asshole published my private key! on: June 27, 2016, 12:08:50 AM
I can't believe this.  Some idiot published my private key.  Now everyone can simply take my bitcoin.  How can we let him get away with this!!  By the way, your private key in on this site too.

http://directory.io/

I demand he immediately pull down this site.  We are ALL exposed.

Rawdog you are an attention whore.

Go back to your "you know bro" youtube channel where you flip flop on your calls.

Wasn't Bitcoin supposed to die in 2011 like you claimed in summer 2011 on youtube?

 Tongue

1298  Other / Off-topic / Re: SMOOTHIE HEALTH & FITNESS WORKOUT JOURNAL on: June 26, 2016, 08:41:38 PM
Hi, I just noticed this thread. Have you tried barbell exercises? That's what I would do if I had the chance now. That's what I did before I got married and had two kids. Now I lift the kids and they make for really good progressive weight system of the "unstable" variety (they get heavier every day, and squirm as you lift them.) But nothing beats the old school barbell. I moved to a different city and into a smaller apartment so I had to get rid of my equipment.

"Starting Strength", or some version of it. Just the 4 or 5 basic barbell exercises. Boring but works. Boring for some people, I personally do not find it boring, but it is routine. Every workout day, just add weight.

Not in the last 6 months.

All of my workouts have been 100% body weight only.

When I want to increase intensity instead of doing 5 minutes straight...i double it and push it to 10 minutes without any rest.

Thus to date the longest I could go without dying out completely is 12 minutes and 30 seconds.

Absolutely killer workout and leaves you gasping for air and on the floor drenched in sweat.

I find that planning out your meals ahead works wonders when trying to lose weight... Dieting is 70% of the battle for me.  I like checking out /r/MealPrepSunday for ideas on what to make for the week... The hardest part of dieting is cutting out the alcohol...  Roll Eyes

For me it is very similar.

Diet is huge.

I just dont plan my meals. MY fridge is just filled with foods that are non GMO organic and that I like to eat. SO even when I have cravings there is always something to help with that specific craving that wont make me gain weight instantly.

Also consistency is #1.

Without it, my whole plan would fail.

I'm down in the low 200's from originally around 260-265. Huge life changer.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 26, 2016, 08:15:16 PM
...

Brexit really didn't do anything that positive in terms for cryptos... Especially looking at BTC.

The markets have not come close to digesting the aftermath of Brexit. Furthermore we are not even considering the the possibility that the UK itself will break up. Scotland could for example become independent as a result of this. What I see here is major turmoil in the fiat and equity markets as a result of this. I will leave to the reader to judge whether this is good or bad for crypto as a whole.

All I see is LOTS OF VOLATILITY in the financial markets (which will spur volatility in crypto) from now until the end of 2016.

Strap/zip-tie/super glue your hats down, it's going to be a wild ride.

Edit: Just imagine what Bitcoin would look like had it existed before the 2008 financial crisis....

2016 will spark an even bigger one...
