Rajasthan Royals  VS Delhi Capital

Which is your choice today between Rajasthan and Delhi? The match is very important for Delhi if they want to qualify for the next round. Delhi is still 4 points behind of Bangalore. And so Delhi will have to win today's match. On the other hand, if Rajasthan can win today, they will be able to move to second place in the points table. Rajasthan's batting lineup is also very strong, so in today's match I think the Rajasthan team is the favorite.

Its an important match for DC, if they can win today then they are definitely in run for next round. On the other hand RR may afford a loss today. RR at the moment at 54/2 in 8 overs. Seeing the recent results of matches, team batting second is struggling to chase small target of 150. If RR can score somewhere over 150 they defiantly have bright chance.

Gujrat Titans    :    Lucknow super giants

Lucknow lost 3 wickets for 33 runs, batting for 145 runs. KL Rahul scored 8 off 16 balls and De Kock was able to score 11 off 10 balls and returned to the dressing room. Karan Sharma has done only 4. Since the top order is not playing well, Gujarat is more likely to win at the moment.

No one was expecting this outcome of the match. GT gave a target of 144 runs which was quite easy for team like LSK. But LSK were not interested in winning the game today, there is no responsible innings from any batsmen of LSK. Credit goes to all bowlers of GT, specially the mighty Rashid Khan. Rashid took 4 wickets in his spell of 3.5 overs. This is GT second win over LSG in this tournamnet.

Yes. Life has become so hectic nowadays. We are having hardly any free time. I am staying far away from my hometown for the purpose of work, and haven't seen many of my close friends and relatives for many years. Whenever I have some free time, I try to be with my family, or travel to my hometown. Two decades ago, during school/college days I had enough spare time to watch or play cricket. But now this has also changed. Today's kids are overburdened with studies and extra-curricular activities, and they don't have much spare time. Even if they get some spare time, they spend it on mobile or Xbox.

Today our social life is altogether different what we have in 90s. Now friend means someone who like, follows and subscribe to you on social media. In 90s, youngster's our Mohalla (street) used to play cricket in afternoon till sunset. But now life is office, home, sleep and repeat.

I really don't think that ICC is actually worried about inserting cricket into the Olympic games because they are very happy with the money that has been generated by cricket and they are very happy by just sitting in the house and counting that money. Right now I really don't have any high hopes about cricket and I know with the current ICC members nothing is going to go well for cricket. this peoples just want money and they are not worried about the greatness of the game at all.

But if ICC takes cricket to olympics then it means more countries will join and more money will come to ICC. Its not icc that is against taking cricket to olympics rather its the big powers of cricket behind that move aka big 3. Who will give importance to BCCI when there are 40 to 50 countries playing cricket.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 10, 2022, 03:04:46 PM

I really don't expect anything from Bangladesh at all in the test cricket format because they are very bad at test cricket.
I can even put my trust in Afghanistan a lot more in test cricket instead of just hoping that Bangladesh wins and I become the loser.
I believe Bangladesh is not good in test cricket and this has been the case since the start, believe that in comparison to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is not good in all formats not just in test. ICC have given them test status in hurry, you can see there performance in last two decades with only few wins at home rest is just a dry period. The irony is that SL has lost its form and has gone down to level of Bangladesh in Test.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 10, 2022, 03:00:56 PM
Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bat. In the last few matches we have seen the teams batting first get the advantage and win. So after Gujarat decided to bat today, I thought they would play well today. But they collected 59 runs in 10 overs. Run rate less than 6 per over. And lost 3 wickets. If David Miller and Shubman Gill fail to build a good partnership, Gujarat will not be able to set big targets today.

GT going with current run rate of 6 and have scored 75 runs in 12 overs. Doesn't look that GT will set a big target as they have lost 3 wickets. Gill and Miller are on the crease but they haven't exploded yet. LSK will try to restrict GT under 140 to win the game and I am sure they will be successful in doing that.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold , Silver Or Crypto? on: May 08, 2022, 07:57:43 AM

every investment always contains risk, be it gold, silver, or cryptoqurrency. Regarding gold, it is a type of asset that is not affected by inflation, besides that the increase in gold prices is relatively slow. for me gold is more suitable for long-term investment.

Building a diversified portfolio is better then investing all your money in one sector. Gold market is biggest in terms of market cap while crypto is catching up nicely but its far from gold in terms of market cap. Crypto as risk and this risk works in both ways. Its better to invest in both, I would invest 60% in gold (because of its maturity) and 40% in crypto (to take risk).
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 08, 2022, 07:49:53 AM

LOL.... try explaining this to the BCCI. All they care is about the money. Have you ever wondered why we don't have a WIPL yet, although other boards have long established women's leagues such as WBBL and WHundred? The opposition from BCCI was the reason why last time the Olympic inclusion plan was scrapped. I have never seen such behavior in any other sports. Brazil and France dominates football and USA dominates basketball. But I have never seen them misusing their power and influence as much as the BCCI do.

That's because if France of Brazil even quit football, fifa has lot many quality teams to run the football affairs. But in case of cricket it's not the case, as cricket is mostly dependent on India. BCCI is the reason why we have so much money in cricket right now in the form of IPL. BCCI is doing good for cricket but at the same time they are dictating there own terms and conditions to ICC.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: May 08, 2022, 07:39:31 AM

it does take time to socialize bitcoin to be adopted worldwide for now. many of the people around us are unfamiliar with cryptocurrencies, especially for the elderly, where they are still unfamiliar with the internet. I think if it is legalized from now on, the next generation will have more people who understand it, but there are still many obstacles that must be faced such as fraud, money laundering, as well as decentralization problems

That's correct, bitcoin is just decade old while fiat is there since centuries. It will definitely take time before majority of the world gets to know about this. Fiat can be used by anyone but one limitation of bitcoin is that its technology dependent. You need to have electronic gadgets and familiar with its use in order to use it. Not everyone in this world have these things at his disposal.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 08, 2022, 07:33:30 AM
The two new teams are really strong and they are able to field a winning combination in their first tournament which is really great. I never expected a turnaround like this as i expected them to take a long time to play together as a team but surprisingly they are the best teams in the tournament with a well balanced team and they can win the tournament with the way they are playing.

It's very much expected now that LSG or GT can grab this IPL final. Hardik Pandya who is dropped from India T20I team because of bad performance is having a good time as GT captain. Though Hardik Pandya performance as a player is still not upto the mark but that doesn't matter as long as he can keep winning matches as captain.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 07, 2022, 07:11:54 PM

The performance of Lucknow bowlers surprised me today. Mohsin Khan bowled 3 overs and gave only 6 runs. He got 1 wicket. On the other hand, Jason Holder took 3 wickets in 2.3 overs. On the other hand, Avesh Khan took 3 wickets for 19 runs in 3 overs. Kolkata lost all their wickets for just 101 runs due to the outstanding performance of the bowlers.

KKR is struggling throughout this tournament and this is not a surprise today. LSG were not only good with bowl but they were equally good with bat today. LSG and GT are first time participating in IPL and they are at number one and two spot throughout the tournament. I am very much confident that GT will take this tournament.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: May 07, 2022, 02:30:13 PM
I am not surprised by this, and such discounts are given to the citizens of the host nation every time they stage the world cup. And in case of Qatar, it should not matter much. Do you know why? Because Qatar do have only around 300,000 citizens (and all of them may not be interested in watching football). Millions of tickets are available for sale and the number of tickets is greater than the number of Qatari citizens (only around 10% of the population of Qatar is made up of nationals). Some of the stadiums in Qatar can accommodate the entire Qatari national population in one go.

Apart from that Qatar is rich countyr. There GDP per capita (current US$) in 2020 is 50k$ according to world Bank data , so giving discount to there citizens is not a big deal for Qatar.
It's not not people of Qatar who will be there to watch the World Cup but spectators from entire globe will come to see that event and that's where Qatar will be targeting to earn profit.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's behind the mysterious Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2022, 06:35:12 AM
Forget about your far-fetched theory, just focus on Bitcoin as it is. Whether Bitcoin was created by the Fed or the CIA, whether Satoshi Nakamoto was just a myth, Bitcoin could be independently appreciated for what it is. And it is what it is, a truly decentralized, trustless, immutable currency. So embracing Bitcoin should not be emanating from bizarre theories. Rather, it is through an objective scrutiny of its features.

There were so many theories about who created bitcoin, one such claim is from craig wright (he is nothing but faketoshi). Nonetheless I do agree that as a mode of payment bitcoin has provided so much relief to this world that fiat never provided.

94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 07, 2022, 06:27:03 AM

I agree about the hypocrisy. And if we continue the reasoning in this direction, then there are many jobs that are harmful to health, but still they exist. It is rather strange to make a fuss about the (presumably) high mortality rate of racehorses against such a backdrop. It's probably good that gradually people are more and more worried about animals - this indicates a growing standard of living, but I would say that those who have already raised their standard of living should first worry about people who have not yet grown up than about animals.

Not only horse racing but all events like that which involve animals must be banned. There is camel racing still going on in UAE despite so much criticism on it since they involve child as camel jockey. Since elite class including government bodies are involved in such sports gambling, its very hard to ban that.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: May 07, 2022, 06:20:04 AM

Basically what they say is based on assumption, if they can say these terrorist group were funded by cryptocurrencies then how they are going to prove their claims, if they didn't prove then its not a valid statement. And they are talking like people were dying due to car accidents so we are going to ban all the cars so that people can now live safer. Roll Eyes

I have a simple question that if crypto is that bad then why governments are allowing centralized crypto exchanges that do KYC and has no objection on centralized crypto like XRP, tether etc. There point is very clear that since they can't control decentralised crypto like BTC, they are banning it.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: May 06, 2022, 04:25:01 AM
Well.. what to say? The situation in your country is just shit. If people are getting arrested for just keeping a few lines of code (that is what Bitcoin is) in their laptop, then I have to say that the country is pretty fucked up. Here in India, most of the trade occurs through P2P platforms such as LocalBitcoins, and the government has no means to track the trade. There are a few centralized exchanges, but they are constantly harassed by the government agencies and people are not very comfortable in using them. The governments around the world needs to understand that authoritarian behavior will not lead them to anywhere. We are living in the 21st century. The politicians can't expect us to dance as per their whims and fancies.

Authorities in my country say that money laundering will be more easier with crypto then with fiat. Though money laundering is in full swing with fiat but authorities have no objection on that. Its natural and with time hate among government bodies for crypto will increase not lessen for an obvious reason.

We should thank Fairbreak Global. They went through a lot of hardship in arranging and organizing this tournament, and they received zero support from the ICC. Fairbreak Global is an organization which strives for gender equality. And I watched one of the matches live on EUROSPORT yesterday, and found it very interesting. The match was between Barmy Army Women and Spirit Women. Barmy Army had star players such as Deandra Dottin, Laura Wolvaardt and Heather Knight in their squad, and to add to the diversity they had players such as Laura Cardoso (Brazil), Roberta Avery (Brazil), Tara Norris (USA) and Henriette Ishimwe (Rwanda). For the first time, I completely enjoyed watching a women's match.

Thanks to Fairbreak Global for arranging this 6 team tournament in Dubai and thanks for sharing that it's available on Eurosport. We need more tournaments like that in order to promote women cricket team. Recently we have Women world cup and now this one. Though Women cricket need lot more attention to reach global audience.

Big fan of T20 format here. But still I would say that T10 is not my cup of tea. When you have 11 players in each of the teams, 10 overs is just too little. That is just around 5 balls per player. I just hope that we refrain from further reducing the duration. T20 match lasts for 3 hrs on average, and that is fine with me. Slightly longer when compared to average football match, but it is tolerable. T10 needs a few changes to its format. If we want to make T10 more interesting, then there should be only 6 players per side. You can't have a 10 over match with 11 players on each team.

T20 is just need of hour to keep cricket alive in 21st century, its never a proper cricket format. If you wanna see skills of bowler and batsmen then you need to focus on test. I think current T20 is good enough to keep interest of people in cricket. Also this will be only reason why new teams will join in.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 06, 2022, 04:10:59 AM

LOL.. it is too early to talk about Kohli's retirement. He has another 4-5 years left with the national team and a few more years with RCB. The situation is different from what we had a few years back, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain of the national side and the BCCI was looking forward to replace him with Kohli. As of now, there are no good replacements for Kohli. Rohit and Rahul were given their chances, and both of them failed. The BCCI maybe looking forward to having either Shreyas or Rishabh as the captain in the long term, but these two doesn't have the experience as of now.

That may be one reason Kohli is not worried about his current form. Rohit has just taken over capacity and he need atleast a year to prove that he is fit or unfit for the job. This also proves that no matter how good a player is you need to have one or two replacement ready to avoid such situations.

It seems like Warner will not give up soon, as he's in a revenge mood. David Warner reached his fourth fifty of the IPL 2022 while he is still batting. With a win today, Sunrisers will be four points ahead of their rivals in the playoff race. But, DC seems to have a different idea because they are also looking for a win.

Warner blistering 92 of 58 balls have set the stage for DC victory. SRH need 30 runs of 8 balls with 3 wickets in hands. Khaleel Ahmed and Thakur did the job with ball for DC. After this win DC will move up in points table but not in top 4 at the moment.
