601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to the price when all the bitcoins are mined? on: October 24, 2021, 06:51:38 PM
Impossible to know what will happen to the price once they're all mined, which will happen in 2140, since I can't even predict the price of the next week. I can't even know for sure if:

  • Bitcoin will be demanded from at least one person.
  • USD will exist.
  • The Earth will be habitable.

The way we are destroying the earth, it seems impossible that by 2140 the earth will be habitable.
To the question posted by OP, lets leave that query to people who will be there by 2140 (Of course we wont be here by 2140, only our posts will be here). What I know is that there is fee that miners will get for there services, I think all miners will decide that price by a consent.
602  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think October will be for alts? on: October 24, 2021, 08:46:32 AM
Not trying to discourage you but people starting to follow altcoins right now should be a little careful. The Best time to look at altcoins was in January this year, a Fortnite after it Bitcoin  surpassed the previous all-time high of 20K.

The second-best time was any day in 2020 before going past the 20K mark.

Lots of people are waiting for the altcoin season, but it began a long time ago. Look at these stats

Some coins have already gone past 1000% in returns since January

Nodoubt best time to buy alt n btc was in January but still we have lots of reasonable time to buy alts and btc at dip. Whenever we have dip people start selling or refrain from buying but they do buy when coins are at there ATH. Market is taking correction, btc and eth are still at very high price and that's the primary reason why most alts are also near ATH. So it's not a good time to buy.
Oct may become good for alts provided btc remain above 60k.
603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy vs. anonymity on: October 24, 2021, 08:30:05 AM

But what about you? Do you care more about privacy or anonymity or both equally?

Pardon me if I am not on track, I am writing in best of my understanding about this post and after reading o_e_l_e_o comment.
To me remain anonymous is mandatory because of crypto regulations in my country. So it's not a choice rather compulsion. While privacy is not an issue, as long as I m dealing in other countries. I don't mind giving my email n I'd to binance for kyc. Since I trust them that it won't go in bad hands.
These are just my few satoshis.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 24, 2021, 08:04:06 AM
<snip>
Probably the pitch condition is different in T20 world cup. Seems like it is in favour of bowlers. The target was low in both matches of today, but the opponent faced difficulties to get the victory. The match between India and Pakistan will be played in the same venue where ENG and WI played. There is no possibility to see a big score if the pitch condition remains same tomorrow. India is favourite for the match and I think they will win it.

Yes, it's a big game for both countries as India only play Pakistan in worldcup where its mandatory. Pakistan has played good amount of cricket at uae in last 10 years while India has recently played IPL here. Both have these edge.
If we talks about odds then India has 1.4 while Pakistan has 2.6, clearly India is ahead. In T20 format its very difficult to predict the winner.
But main point is Pakistan never won against India in WC, can they do it now?
605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PoW vs PoS on: October 23, 2021, 03:59:18 PM

When the last bitcoin is mined/bought, it would be harder for everyone to facilitate transactions more so afford them because the system will be overloaded and as a countermeasure, will charge higher fees and would slow the process down for the rest in queue. The thing about POS is it ensures efficiency of service and the price of each transaction which in theory should work, especially for coins with high potentials for scalability like bitcoin and ethereum, with these two being the most common victims of the shortcomings POW has.

Blockchain has trilemma in terms of scalability, security and decentralisation. If we talk about PoW, then it has performed well under the umbrella of BTC. It has scalability issues but its secure and ensures decentralisation of btc. While we have yet to see PoS working under a decentralized coin like Ethereum.
After the last btc will be mined, there will be a fee that will be paid to miners as reward. Like I said PoW has scalability issues but still with this issue btc manage to grab over 1 trillion usd cap. I m very much sure PoW can manage the load after last btc is mined as its tested under extreme load.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 23, 2021, 11:35:49 AM

The ICC should see Afghanistan as a team and not look in their political issues. Even though we know that Afghanistan Talibans are threat to the world but this has nothing to do with cricket. If they are playing good cricket, then ICC should not ban them.
By the way, is there any news which hints that ICC may impose ban on Afghanistan cricket board or is it just speculation ?

Unfortunately we can't expect anything from icc on such matters. The new regime in Afghanistan don't have good relations with big 3, rest you can understand yourself. One of the biggest concern is whether new government allow cricket team to play under the old afghan flag or not? The other concerns include whether woman's are allowed to play cricket? There are many if else which need to be cleared by new Afghanistan government in order to keep playing the cricket.

Cricket Australia will cancel the Test match against Afghanistan in November if women are not allowed to play the sport under the Taliban regime. source

Nothing much to say about SA Aus match. So far Aussies bowlers have done there job, seems like SA will be restricted to 120. It will be an easy target to chase for Australia.

Second match will be interesting,  odds are favouring Eng but WI is equally good in T20. I have placed my bet on WI. Wish me luck.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PoW vs PoS on: October 23, 2021, 10:02:58 AM

Bitcoin is PoW, it is in the whitepaper. However, if everybody agrees, yes bitcoin may switch to PoS as well but I don't think it is going to happen. Some people say PoS is not as safe as PoW and we still don't know if this is right. Eth and cardano doing well so far. So maybe, the hesitations might be baseless.

Bitcoin too is doing fine with PoW, it ensures security and robustness of BTC blockchain. The issue of too much power consumption by bitcoin is as old as hills and IMO its just over hyped. Eth has not switched over to PoS yet as,
Altair, Ethereum 2.0’s first hard fork, is expected to come into effect by the end of the month —  the point where the original proof-of-work Ethereum blockchain will transition to Ethereum 2.0’s proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. Source

Whether its PoW or PoS, they both are same way of climbing the same mountain. As PoW is centralized along miners that can afford expensive mining equipment and electricity bills, in PoS those who can stake huge amount of coins will grab the major share of mining.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 23, 2021, 09:16:58 AM

But does talent need a quota? The board need to hunt for talent rather than having a quota in sports. If you do not have talent but you get selected because of the quota then will the performance of the team increase or decrease? I am against the quota system in sports, there are other ways to provide quota. This is why teams from the African subcontinent are struggling so much.

RSA used to have zero black players in there team in 90s AFAIK, check there team when Hansie Cronje was there captain. This quota system may be bad but its introduced so that native South Africans (the blacks) must have representation in the national team. Its also a matter of fact that blacks don't have adequate facilities compared to whites, that's why they cant compete with white cricketers.

"The current quota (applicable to the season rather than each match) is that the Proteas must play six POCs, three of whom must be black (this, recently increased from two)."Source
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hodl or change? on: October 22, 2021, 06:31:53 PM
No sane investor or trader buy a coin, stock or commodity at ATH, they rather sell at ATH. Warren Buffett once said that it is wise for investors to be "fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful."
Doge ATH is 0.70$, right now its around 0.2$ and trading at number 10 at CMC. IMO it still has the potential to go up, at least near to its ATH if not surpassing it. I suggest keep it and sell if you find price around 0.5$. There are bright chances of alt coins going up since BTC is over 60k.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 22, 2021, 06:21:21 PM

Previously teams like Oman and Kuwait used to recruit players from the Pakistanis and Indians residing in these countries. But now they are directly recruiting first-class players from the sub-continent. They just give an employment offer to these players so that they qualify for the residence requirement and then pack the national team with foreigners. The problem here is that teams that are dependent on native players (Kenya, Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Papua New Guinea.etc) suffer because of these mercenary teams. There should be a limit of 4-5 foreigners in the playing XI.

I was viewing profiles of Oman players on espncricinfo.com and to my surprise there is hardly a single player that is born in Oman, majority of them are from Pakistan. Again only ICC can interfere and resolve this issue but we haven't seen role of ICC in resolving any conflict, so this will also go unnoticed.
B/w congrats to Namibia for making it to the WCT20. They restricted IRE to 125 because of good spell from Jan Frylinck and David Wiese.
While Netherlands recorded second lowest total in T20I of 44.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you believe in market analysis published by crypto news websites? on: October 22, 2021, 03:16:22 PM

Reading predictions or analysis about the market from credible media is good but don't depend too much on their analysis, it should only be an additional reference for our trading decisions. Reading analysis from other people can increase our trading knowledge but all decisions must be based on own analysis.

IMO crypto market is volatile and based on speculations, its yet not established like stock or forex that one can analyse it through tools like fundamental or technical aanalysis. You are right that such news can only be part of your research but final decision must come from your own mind after doing a complete 360 degree research.
Since its your own hard earned money n no one can take much better decision about it except you.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you spend your Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2021, 03:02:12 PM
I am out of luck when it comes to short term trading. I found myself lucky only when it comes to hodling. I can't spend my btc because of strict crypto regulations in my country. For the past eight months (since btc crossed 20k) I m mostly on hodling side. I converted all my btc to stablecoin in April this year since then majority of my holdings are in stablecoin. Whenever I converted few of these stablecoins to btc, I found myself out of luck.
613  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking loan to trade is a risky task on: October 21, 2021, 04:34:13 PM
The worst action one can ever take is to borrow or take a loan for trading. It is not a good idea at all. Anything can happen in the market, where things can go wrong, truly we will have to be positive at heart, but let the truth be said. If the capital is gone, e everything comes back to point zero, and at that time the heart is troubled and when one can't payback, then the law will have to come in and take it's place. It is advisable that you invest what you can afford to lose, not what you can't afford to payback.
Except, you are very good with the market analysis, and have gotten lots of experience over the years, and even at that good traders still makes losses too. So one has to take reasonable risks.

Banks never care for your profit nor for your loss, they only care about there money with interest and if you fail to pay them back then they take whatever you have pledged.
Not everyone is good in handling wildfire of crypto trading, even expert traders fail at times. Most importantly crypto has bear seasons also that may last for months or years. How can you return loan if your investment get struck? These are some question one need to ask himself before taking such step.
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 21, 2021, 04:21:01 PM

BTW, anyone watching the Oman vs Scotland match? Oman has made 51/3 so far, after 9.3 overs. Aqib Ilyas got a great chance, but he wasted it now. Michael Leask got the wicket and now Scotland is on top. If they win this match, Scotland will finish ahead of Bangladesh in this group. And that further means that Scotland will be placed along with India and Pakistan in Group 2 for the next phase.

Yes I am watching it. Scotland need 90 runs on 92 balls with 9 wickets remaining. Though I haven't placed bet on this game but Scotland deserve to play the WCT20. They are Unbeaten in qualifying round because of there good batting that is fully backed by there bowlers.

a day after the most expected India vs Pakistan match.

Will this match go ahead as scheduled or not? There are voices in India not to play that game. If India refuses to play that game it will give Pakistan few bonus points.
615  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk Sees Bitcoin Price Reaching $69,000 on: October 21, 2021, 04:08:06 PM
Can we please stop caring about what Elon Musks says? It really makes Bitcoin market look immature, when its price can be some easily influenced by a single celebrity. I'm sure that if Elon Musk tweeted "gold will reach $100,000" gold wouldn't move by even 1%

The number 420 is now commonly associated with Tesla

By whom? I'm pretty sure most people in the world don't read Elon Musk's tweet or pay attention to his statements.

Can't agree more. It's us who previously made Craig Wright popular by discussing his false claims. This year we made MUSK a crypto giant,  whose single tweet causes BTC to crash from 50k to 32k. We need price stability more then ATH in crypto market, if we want to see it as mainstream payment system.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Crypto bans are temporary, we are on the right side of history. on: October 21, 2021, 03:51:00 PM
Most countries don't even understand what bitcoin is before they impose a ban on it. I remember crypto was banned in India and highly criticized by the government only to be reversed later because they might have learned that BTC isn't as bad as they might be thinking about it.

With time the government also understands that it is practically impossible to ban the use of cryptocurrency. It's similar to banning gambling, people will find some ways of doing it somehow.

The bans put on bitcoin are only proof of frustration from the government because they can't stop it and they know it very well.

IMO governments fully knows BTC that's why they are going hard against crypto then ever before. The main point is can government fully ban it? The answer is governments have no control to ban decentralized crypto. They can only restrict its centralized use such as on exchanges. I don't know what happens in future but crypto financial system is not gonna be accepted by governments, at least in near future.
These are just my two satoshis.

619  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to understand the market in advance on: October 11, 2021, 05:39:26 PM
Technically you will know where the market will go with your datas and much observation, but trading is not just technically analysis, theres alot of factor will bring price to random direction. In this case, your experience will make your technical analysis more stable and give a clearer picture in taking the next step. So in my opinion, profit from trading cannot be instant, trading is a matter of time and your personal experience based on proper technical analysis.

Thats correct. Trading is not just about Technical/Fundamental Analysis, in crypto trading even TA/FA fails at times since its totally volatile and speculative in nature. Crypto trading is not for everyone even experts fail here.
I agree on the fact that you learn it by experience but make sure you don't lose huge money while learning it.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the money in the world entered the cryptocurrency market? on: October 11, 2021, 05:29:00 PM

I don't think this is possible, first, cryptocurrency is just an alternative to fiat and no government would sacrifice their own currency just to invest in crypto. For me, it's not gonna happen, not even 50% of the world's population will use cryptocurrency in the future.

Crypto is popular among its community member and right now its in every country. The no of people that are using it or fully understand it are  still very less in number. To me crypto is far from becoming a fundamental technology or may be never, primary reason you have already mentioned.
