461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 23, 2022, 04:03:37 AM
There are two recent incidents which I wanna discuss:

1. Kohli addressing directly the broadcaster in stumps during 3rd test against SA
2. Moises Henriques saying "nice throw" to Pak bowler Hasnain in BBL

So far ICC has not taken any disciplinary action against both player's. The reason is obvious both are from big 3 countries. Had this done by player from Pakistan, Bangladesh or WI ICC will have used his guide book against them. Cricket truly is under big 3 control.

If fans want to watch international cricket, then no one will stop them. Franchise cricket is gaining ground, because international cricket has become a joke nowadays. Even the recently concluded Ashes series was extremely one-sided and England narrowly escaped from being whitewashed 0-5. In franchise cricket at least we don't get these sort of one-sided matches. If given a choice, I would rather go for the BBL or the BPL, rather than undergoing the torture of going through a Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe or Australia vs Bangladesh match.

Fans will watch what channels are broadcasting. The narrative about anything is built by media these days and cricket is not an exception. In international cricket every country has fair chance to prove his capabilities while in franchise you need money to build your team. That's why money rich ipl, bbl are way more popular then lanka, bpl.

Surely they have not good time because it's happen after SENA defeats but never mind because now Sri Lanka is coming and after them Australia is also having tour with this all many players will be back in good form at home and give some extraordinary performance because nothing is good then home.

Pujara and Rahane is also going to shine against Sri Lanka and with this performance they are going to have spot against Australia with someone already mention in above post these Senior Players having some good hold on things which are happening in team, so I am feeling there is no good chance for new emerging players for having spot in team but their dedication and love for sport can give them some better result in near future because every thing is going to change.

This is worrying sign for Indian cricket that they are very easily defeated by SA team who was no way a match to Indian team. India defiantly will perform best at there soil since they have ideal conditions there. India really need some backup of there mandatory players like kohli,  Pujara and Rahane. If these players have backup then they will focus on there game which is not the case right now.

Despite the COVID issue, a number of overseas players are taking part in this year's edition. I checked the squad list for this year's edition and those who caught my eye are Andre Russell, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Sunil Narine, Oshane Thomas, Chadwick Walton, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Colin Ingram. Some of the Sri Lankan players had to pull out, because the SLC refused to provide NOC. I watched the highlights of the first two matches and they looked interesting enough. But then, there is simply too much cricket going on at the moment.

Such leagues are beneficial for players like Gayle, Afridi who retired from international cricket or players who are not playing international cricket for some reason. I can't recall how many leagues are going on right now, this is badly disturbing international cricket. It seems like future lies in these leagues and little room for international cricket.

@darewaller I believe that soon we shall see Rahul Dravid dropping non performing player’s, and currently he’s taking his time to understand all the available player’s and once he gets a good idea he’ll start shaping the new Indian team. Also Jadeja is a very important player because he constantly lifts the team by taking that important wicket, or scoring those crucial runs, and it’s important that team India find a player that can be his direct replacement.

Indian cricket team is not having a good time right now. They have lost test series to underdogs i.e. SA and the credit for this goes to kohli and bcci administration. Players who are not performing must be dropped to play domestic cricket and regain form. There is no harm in giving kohli a break, since he is continuously not performing. In India it's a culture that senior players are mandatory part of team whether they perform or not.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 21, 2022, 04:24:35 PM

Where the heck is Shami? Also, how many more chances will they keep giving Bhuvi who has been struggling for a long time now?

India lost the test series and they are about to lose the ODI series which could end as a whitewash by South Africa considering how some of their key bowlers and batsmen have been underperforming in recent times.

Cant say about whitewash but India surely are at the verge of losing the odi series after test series loss. If India cant win series at SA with current SA team I guess they can never win series in the future. SA was very much down and out but there players are back in form in this series. See the consistency in batting line up of SA in today's game. They all have scored over 30 runs.

Does anyone find out about Bangladesh Premier League(BPL)? BPL has started today and now I am enjoying the second match of BPL. Dhaka is now batting against Khulna. At the end of 13 overs, Dhaka collected 109 runs. Opener Tamim Iqbal is still unbeaten on 50 off 41 balls. Dhaka will be able to collect at least 60 runs in 7 more overs. If they can give more than 160 targets, maybe Dhaka will be able to win this match.

I just keep an eye on leagues on cricinfo.com since there is too much cricket going on that's why many leagues are ignored. Congrats to KT for winning there first match. 183 was a bign target but KT manage to chase it quite easily with 6 balls remaining. Star performer was Rony Talukdar who scored 61 runs of just 42 balls. He must be man of the match.

ICC has announced T20 WC 2022 schedule. Super 12 will start on October 22 and the most important match of any icc event i.e. Pak vs India will on 24 Oct. India, Pak, SA and BAN are in Group B, while Aus, NZ, Afghan and England are in Group A. There will be two more teams in each group that will come from qualifying round.

Nowadays people don't have enough time to spend an entire day to watch ODI or test matches. The traditionalists will be aghast at this, but the only way for U-19 world cup to attract the fans is to change the format to a shorter one (ideally T20). You can compare the views they received on their live streaming page, to the viewership figures they had in the previous tournaments. It shows a continuous decline. Changing the format to T20 will lessen the workload for the younger players as well.

Main reason why football is so hit is because its played in short duration. You just need 90 min to complete a game of football. Cricket is slow to progress just because it take complete day to play in case of odi. You are right if we want to see cricket in more countries then introduce shorter format of the game.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 20, 2022, 05:11:23 AM

I don't know whether the ongoing dispute between Kohli and BCCI has anything to do with the poor performance of the Indian team. During the last match, it was the bowlers who failed to perform. Captaincy tactics from KL Rahul was not up to the mark, as he refused to provide any opportunity to Venkatesh Iyer to test his medium pace. Shardul Thakur was going at a rate of more than 7 runs per over, and at this point I thought that Venkatesh would have done a better job. Just confirms my view that Shreyas Iyer is a much better captain, when compared to Rahul.

Not to forget superb knock from Rassie van der Dussen, 129 on 96 balls along with his captain support. Temba Bavuma was a bit slow in scoring runs, scored 110 with S/R of just 76 but the main point is he kept the other end while Rassie was scoring runs. You can't do much when you are chasing 296.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 19, 2022, 05:19:11 PM

Hardly anyone among my friends are following these matches. And although the matches are being streamed live, I haven't bothered to watch either. Simply, there is too much cricket around. The Ashes just got finished, and the Indian tour of South Africa is going on. On top of that there are several other bilateral series (for example the West Indies vs Ireland), apart from the Big Bash League. It is really hard to follow all the action. I used to be an avid watcher of BBL matches, but this time I haven't followed the league.

There is too much cricket all around and that's primary reason why we have lost interest in WC U19. Even bilateral series are no more watched by majority, just final scores are checked at the end of every match. I guess for IPL only the whole cricket stops and that's why it has huge viewership.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2022, 05:14:41 PM

The BCCI under Sourav Ganguly has given a clear message to Virat Kohli and the other seniors in the team. They have been told that no individual is above the team. If they doesn't let go their ego, then these players will be kicked out of the team. If Kohli can be cut down to size, then none of the other players are untouchable. Neutral cricket fans have been fed up with the bias and arrogance from Kohli for the past several years. Only because of him useless players such as Hardick Pandya could find a place in the playing XI.

That's a very good move from bcci chief, no player is indispensable. Due to bcci decision on controlling kohli, India may go down in performance for time being but its good in the long run for Indian cricket. Other boards must also learn this from bcci. Hardick was once backbone of Indian tial and was known for hard hitting. Today he is called a useless,  what an irony.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 19, 2022, 05:09:33 PM

India lost by 31 runs. They started the innings very well but could not win the match. Shikhar Dhawan was able to score 79 and Virat Kohli 51. After these two batsmen were out, no other batsman could play well except Shardul Thakur. Aswin and Rishab Pant, two experienced batsmen, failed today. If they could have batted a little better then maybe India could have won this match. However, India also lost the first ODI match after losing the Test series.

Before start of this tour, India was favorite just like England was favorite before Ashes. Nonetheless these are much needed victories for SA, as they were very much down and out in all formats. Test series win and now this odi win will boost there confidence and who knows SA may be on there road to regain lost glory.

Following IPL there were more leagues being organized, but weren't able to reach the popularity same as that of IPL through years. It hasn't reached this popular in a short, already 14 seasons were over. Maybe when more seasons were conducted other leagues might also gain popularity. The Indian cricket board is spending big, which is also a reason for the success. Nowhere such big amounts were spend on player auction and team franchise.

India is the biggest market in cricket by a distance. Unlike the other sports, cricket fans are not uniformly distributed across the globe. 90% of them are concentrated in South Asia, and even within that India forms the lion's share. So it is not surprising that the IPL is by far the richest league as far as franchise T20 is concerned. In the next 5-10 years, I am sure that the IPL will become the world's richest sports league, overtaking US leagues such as National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB).

You have a valid point. Cricket is the center of attraction for the South Asian Region. Countries like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have huge populations. In fact, India is the 2nd largest country by population and so a T20 league organized by and in India will have more revenue automatically. Also, India has big investors and also BCCI has a lot of money to spend on IPL which only makes it bigger every year.

Yes that's true. India has made its huge population its strength rather then a liability. Its not only cricket, Indian movie industry is also successful because of its vast majority that went to cinema to see films. India is heading in right direction that's why it's included in top economies of the world.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People claiming themself satoshi on: January 19, 2022, 02:16:48 PM
Actually, the goal of those who recognize themselves as Satoshi Nakamoto is only to seek popularity. They are just wasting time. I think those who recognize themselves as Satoshi Nakomoto are very stupid people.

And irony is that we keep on discussing such people and keep giving them fame which is there prime goal. If someone is real satoshi then he can prove that by moving bitcoin out of that famous Satoshi Bitcoin wallet. None of them was able to do that, so it's our collective responsibility to ignore such faketoshis.
477  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: January 19, 2022, 02:11:32 PM

I wonder if we are about to move in the bear market ? What is the hope of bull market in the current circumstances ?

You think bitcoin is in bearish mode ? I mean are you serious. No market can move in upward direction only, market correction is inevitable after a massive bull run. If you analyse price of Bitcoin then it has strong resistance on 42k that's clear indication that momentum is building for upword run. It's better to accumulate bitcoin at this point rather concluding that bitcoin is weak.

Exactly this is what I think about Hhampuz. He is doing so good on bitcointalk.org that he doesn't need to go to any job. I have participated in three of his campaigns till date and all of them were too good in term of payment.
479  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Get Rich with Bitcoin on: January 17, 2022, 08:43:01 AM
First you Get Rich, then you Buy Bitcoin.

I have a different opinion, as we can get rich after we buy BTC. The key to success in BTC world is knowledge and patience, if you have both of these then sky is limit for you. Many fail in BTC world since they came with mind that BTC can make them rich over night. With this feeling they buy BTC ignoring the fundamentals of when to buy, result is loss of capital.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Changing my Thoughts And Behaviors. on: January 17, 2022, 08:39:04 AM
Bitcoin didn't change my behavior at all.
I don't discuss Bitcoin/crypto with other people and I can't say that I'm "enthusiastic" about Bitcoin/crypto projects.
I have always been skeptical about everything and everyone and Bitcoin is one of the few things in my life, which never disappointed me.
I was already financially disciplined before getting into the world of Bitcoin,so I can't say that Bitcoin changed something in my financial activities.
I remember that I was obsessed with constantly checking the current Bitcoin price on preev.com,but that was 4 years ago. Now,I don't bother that much about the current Bitcoin price.

Your views are somewhat realistic, as most of us get over excited while discussing BTC.
I too don't discuss BTC with others, the primary reason for this is BTC is recently ban in my country. So better not to get caught, I don't discuss with others.
Bitcoin has changed my life in many ways, as a freelancer I receive payments instantly and without any cuts now through BTC. That's something heaven for freelancers who are abused by platforms like upwork.
