121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: April 30, 2022, 03:39:22 PM

Teaching economics at the school level may not be appropriate as kids should learn about a lot of basic things at the school level and should not be involved in complex studies at such early stages. Yes, you can teach them about different digital currencies but should avoid going in-depth about the complexities of economics. They can learn about them at the early college stage.

Life is full of learning and getting experiences. Kids should be allowed to enjoy there childhood and shouldn't be given the burden of learning complex things like cytpo. As they grow up they will get to know about it for sure. There are many frontiers wh are not recommended for minors but can be unlocked with crypto like porn, gambling etc.

123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? (satoshi saved it in cd rom! allegedly) on: April 30, 2022, 05:16:34 AM
I hadn't found an option for voting. Because I maintain a paper notebook to write all of my wallet credentials. I don't support storing wallet credentials on any device or any online cloud storage. Basically I have been using a hardware wallet to store my cryptos and write seeds in my notebook. So in case of recovery, I would use that.

These are the golden rules I would say. Storing digitally your credentials is the worst thing one can do, since they are gone as and when your device is compromised. I have lost some huge money as my device was compromised since then I store my wallet credentials on paper and save in my wardrobe.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my bitcoin on: April 29, 2022, 06:24:43 PM
This story is too bizarre for me to believe it but for the 1% chance that this is actually true, you should know by now that you should lawyer up right?

As for recovering your wallet — while the answer is almost always "your bitcoin is gone, move on", you didn't even give us any information on what exchange and what wallet software you used.

Clearly its full bizarre, he bought 600 BTC for 300,000$ which means one BTC costs 500$ and that price was seen in 2016/17. If OP is aware of BTC from such a long time then he must also know that you have to backup the seed or private keys somewhere. There is no way to recover your BTC if they are stored in decentralized wallet like Electrum and you don't have the seed of recovery.

MLC, Knight Riders team up for 10,000 seater stadium near Los Angeles. Venue could be ready to host men's T20 World Cup in 2024
I dont know why people are getting too excited in taking cricket to USA where there is zero interest, if quarter of that capital or interest in shown in new frontiers then we can have huge countries in cricket eco-system.

1. 70-80% revenue comes from the India. In ICC tournaments big chunk of fans only watch matches when their fav team is playing or in some cases, when high quality teams are facing each other. So let's say there are 10 teams in the tournament and every team is playing 4-5 matches in every group. So big markets like India, England and Australia (mainly Indian) playing limited amount of matches. Fans are obviously going to invest time in their own team instead of WI vs Ban or Pak vs SL, hence ICC earn money from limited amount of fixtures mainly Indian fixtures.

In contrast in IPL even dull match is capable to generate enough clicks, let's say 5-ish millions and that's only streaming services, not even talking about other services like cable tv.

2. Life of athlete is short so it normal for players to look into their own interest due to paycheck.

Really did'nt got what you wanna say in Point 1.

Players do have there own choice but national duty is also important. Its the national team that introduces a player to the world and is picked up by league like IPL or BBL. WI and RSA cricket is destroyed because of IPL, a players are no more interested in national duty since they earn more from IPL.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 29, 2022, 06:09:08 PM
Punjab Kings vs Super Giant

This match is going to be a 50/50 in my opinion because both teams are coming off a win against two bottom teams on the table. So that obviously does not give us much chance of separating these two teams. But I believe that if Shikhar Dhawan can play good innings and the other Batmen can support him around PBKS has a really good chance of winning.

It seems like players are now exhausted because of too lengthy IPL schedule. Now we are seeing score of 150 in almost every match. Anyways, LSG just won th match by 20 runs. Man of the match is still not announced. IMO it can be de kock for his blistering inning of 46 runs or Mohsin khan for his 3 wickets spell.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 29, 2022, 06:03:57 PM
I agree with the first part. If you are not a citizen of a particular country, then you don't deserve a chance to play in the national team. These non-citizens, if they want can play for the United Nations team. And for the second point, first and foremost if the natives are included in the national team, then there will be a growth in interest in cricket. On the other hand, if they put up sham national teams like what we have in Czech Republic or Norway, then it will remain as a sport that is exclusively played by the foreigners.

It will take some time to develop a quality cricket team from native players if you are new to cricket. Since it need some time to develop local infrastructure that can produce good cricketers. But short term gain lies in making a team of expats like done by UAE, Oman and other countries. Even UAE woman team is of expats and ICC is focusing more on short term financial gains
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 28, 2022, 11:41:05 PM

I don't see this an easy win. Both the teams were almost in the same level, which means in terms of lost wickets. Delhi Capitals was quite ahead in runs and the same lowered the pressure upon Delhi Capitals. If one more wicket have fallen for Delhi Capitals the match could've gone even closer. I thought the match would turn towards Kolkata Knight Riders once after the unwanted runout of Axar Patel who is a major reason for today's win. If Axar Patel hadn't made few good shots at that position, surely Delhi Capitals wouldn't have won this match.

I didn't watched the complete match just saw the final scorecard and from there it looks like and easy win for DC as they have 6 balls to spare with 4 wickets in hands. Sometimes seeing the final scorecard didn't give you complete picture of what happened on the ground. You are right or two wickets in 17 or 18 over might have done the job for KKR.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 28, 2022, 11:34:31 PM

I think he has been a great performer for the England cricket team and he can definitely prove himself as a captain in my opinion.  yes, a lot of arguments can be made that there are other players who are better suited for this. but in the situation that that cricket team is right now, I think Ben Stokes is the best choice for the captain because the team needs a character like him as their captain.

I would say that ECB won't have much choices for the captain, they have to make a decision and Ben is first choice for that. As I said, he has a tough job ahead where he has to assemble a scattered English team. It will definitely take some time and Ben need some time for that.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HODL, HODL when can one actually sell Bitcoin? on: April 28, 2022, 06:33:48 PM

Holding isn't mandatory, but the benefits of the same is big. Almost every cryptocurrency user have experienced it. It is suggested to hold, based on the growth happened in the market with time. If you're good in trading, then one can make good profit out of the fluctuation. Here very few will be successful with their indepth knowledge and observation about different cryptocurrencies. Majority just consider it an investment and keeps hold. Here also users get lucky to profit in short term as well as in long term.

Majority HODL bitcoin after facing loss in day or short term trading. HODL is best strategy to gain profit in BTC. As far as OP question is concerned that when to sell, IMO there is no best time to buy and sell. It all depends on your personal strategy , there is no point in HODLing your coins if you are getting decent profit. I sell me holdings if I see profit around 30 to 40%
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 28, 2022, 06:27:00 PM

Warner and Lalit are batting responsibly. Their performance is good. Also Warner is very experienced. If he is at the crease, there is no need to worry about Delhi's victory. Delhi scored 55 runs in 7 overs. Warner's collection of 18 balls 30. Although Lalit has collected only 9 runs from 16 balls. But he is able to give Warner good support. Delhi needs 92 runs from 78 balls to win. The match is still under Delhi's control.

Congrats to DC for winning the game and I think like CSK and MI its very much curtains for KKR. The 6.25 crore Warner is best choice for T20 game. Meanwhile Finch continue his poor form in T20 and today he was disappointing also. 146 from KKR are never a challenging total and it was very much expected that DC will win the game quite easily.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 28, 2022, 06:21:24 PM

Ben Stokes is an excellent choice to serve as the new England Test team captain in this current environment. Several candidates may cause controversy as Butler, Bairstow, or Malan are all excellent choices. Most of us think Stokes named a bad decision since he is normally unfit most of the time. In summarizing Stoke's recent mental health issues, I am not sure if this is a good idea. He may feel too much pressure, which could negatively affect his performance. Ben Stokes will have a tough road ahead. We'll have to wait and see where he goes.

In current circumstances Ben is the rightful candidate for test captaincy. But I don't think he as a captain will make any impact as whole English team is struggling. We need to wait at-least one year to give verdict about whether Ben as a captain is a success or England need another captain. Ben from now on need to pay special attention to his fitness since he is skipper now.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 26, 2022, 06:10:09 PM

Cricket is just like any other profession. You can't force the players to turn down a high paying offer (just like the case with any other career). The salary levels in IPL is 10x or 20x of what the players receive in international matches. Given this, can you really force the players to opt for international matches, when the IPL is ongoing? It is extremely unfair. Some of the cricket boards, such as the one in South Africa has done this and in the end many of the players were forced to take retirement.

Then all boards less PCB have to make a consent that there will be zero bilateral series during the whole IPL duration. On the other hand IPL can be completed in one month easily, as we have one match going on per day. Two months is quite a long duration and its difficult for some boards to stop there cricket for two months.

Good to see Kohli finally score some runs in IPL. But his runs were not very much useful as RR had an easy win over RCB. Batting first RR gave a target of 144 runs which in my view is very much easy to chase but whole RCB was out on 115 runs. Kuldeep Sen should be man of the match for his 4 wickets.

Right now with political instability nothing is sure what's going on and how they are going to handle this all but one thing is sure Shahid Afridi is never been good choice for anyone because he is just cricketer with having no proper education and good experience, so I am feeling he can take job as selector or chief selector but for post of PCB Chief Executive is too early for him as it needs some good qualities and good experience he just retired from International cricket and now suddenly for this job for me, it's a just jock but here in Pakistan anything can happen because they have history of things like this.

For fans base or viewership I surely believe they have never been can compete with India but in quality this competition is going to be good as both leagues can produce good and talented players for own countries.

Its PCB that allowed Shahid Afridi to continue playing for 20 years despite his poor average in both batting and bowling, he only has good strike rate nothing else. For PSL, PCB need a mature player or businessmen who can foresee things and have good administrative skills.
India is a country with population of 1.3 billion people all crazy for cricket, so defiantly that counts when you have viewership of IPL.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 26, 2022, 04:21:48 PM
Even 3 from India is OK (India has depth in talent and they have 38 first class teams). The ICC can also allow a second team from Pakistan as well. There are dozens of national teams, that are entirely comprised of Indian and Pakistani nationals. Given this, why can't they allow additional teams from these two countries, without the fake labels such as "Oman", "Norway", "Czech Republic", "Sweden", "Qatar".etc? The advantage here is that these teams will be more competitive when compared to the "fake" national teams.

BTW, this is how the "Czech Republic" team looks like:

India and Pakistan has huge population that doesn't mean cricket need to be restricted in this part of the world. You cant do such manipulation in football, in fact South Asian football teams are no where in competition in FIFA despite there huge population. Rules should be simple, one country one team and that team must have 100% native players.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? on: April 24, 2022, 05:45:27 AM
I don't know why you don't put as one of the options what I think will be the majority option: written down on a piece of paper and kept in a safe place (or two different safe places).

I would add one more thing and that is after you have written it down then also intimate your next of kin which can be your spouse, parents or kids. Most of bitcoins got abandoned because there owners either loss the key or left this world . I have kept few copies of my private key with one given to my wife.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 24, 2022, 05:40:54 AM

Day by day things are going the worst for Kohli but greediness or competition is not allowing him to take care about these things, and he is carried on with his the worst form in current time which can bring some more problems for him and his career.

Many saying it's all about money and few are having other views alike ego or what, but surely he needs some break which give them some better mind-set about his game and future, but he has to do something for some time surely currently Indian team is most busy in cricket world and their players are now suffering from things like this which is not good signal if BCCI needs to keep their players in good shape then surely they need to work on rotation system and having some strong back for all in all formats which will help them for staying good for long time, and they could be served in better way for their country.

In South Asia the problem with players like kohli is that they don't take break since they fear that new players may perform well and they will be replaced permanently. With this mentality kohli is still carrying on. In T20 WC, when kohli was asked to replace rohit because of his bad form he laughed and ignored it. Now same is done by Rohit when asked will he consider replacing kohli. Seems like Indian skippers are more interested in having good relationships with each other and that's costing Indian team.

I thought MI is the worst team of this edition but RCB yesterday proved me wrong totally as they were bowled out for just 68 runs. There are only 2 players in there batting line up that manages to reach double figure. In the end an easy win for SRH.
What's more interesting is that MI are playing there 8th game and everyone is looking to see there first win.
