I also totally agree with your review that no one will be able to block and prevent bitcoin adoption, not even the government side will be able to block bitcoin adoption, despite IMF efforts to prevent El Salvador from adopting bitcoin, but I personally think IMF efforts will not succeed

We live in a world and must be realistic about what's going around us. So far governments are in no mood of accepting decentralized bitcoin and ike crypto. I don't know what positive impact El Salvador move has over cryptocurrencies. Right now it's total chaos in EL Salvador.

Most Salvadorans have already ditched their national bitcoin wallets

I have sad news to share that we have lost another Australian legend. Andrew Symonds died yesterday in a car accident. I do remember the matches where Shane Warne and Andrew Symonds together won many matches for the Australians.

Another blow for Australians after they lost Shane Warne few weeks ago. He is one of best allrounder we have seen till date. Who can forget his innings of 143 not out against Pakistan in 2003 world cup. CA is going through a tough era, let's hope it ends soon.

Finally something on horizons of international cricket, first test between Srilanka and Bangladesh is underway. SL has scored 73 runs and lost both openers. Somewhat a positive start for Bangladesh. This test is part of icc world test championship so its an important match for both sides.

Well.. it comes down to politics. The Indian government feels that there is a need to get Afghanistan on their side, because Pakistan is also having a huge influence on that country. On the other hand, Nepal is never treated as an equal partner by India. The government considers Nepal to be a vassal state, and that is one of the reasons why Nepal has increasingly turning to China for help nowadays. These political issues get reflected in dealings between sports bodies as well. To be honest, boards such as PCB, ECB and CA has done more to help Nepal cricket when compared to the BCCI.

If PCB (not a rich board) can help Afghanistan then for BCCI helping Nepal or other bordering country is just a matter of giving some peanuts. I still can't believe Nepal is not in international cricket despite being in a cricket centric region. Nepal must have a strong test team by now.

SRH won't qualify for playoffs in this season of IPL. Yesterday's match was a disaster for them. None of their batters were able to stay put and lead the chase. Ofcourse 178 was a big score on that pitch but I expected them to chase it. Abishek Sharma did his level best but that shot was not good enough.

KKR just destroyed the dreams of SRH for making it to next round. KKR must have shown such good performance at early stage of IPL, now these are just consolation wins. Andrew Russel must have party last night as he scored 49 not out and took 3 wickets also.

First semi final of FairBreak Invitational Tournament is underway in Dubai, falcon women won the toss and decided to bat first. So far they are going good as they are 77/0 in 9 overs. Good thing is one of sports channel is broadcasting this match and I am for the first time in life watching a women match.

DEspite the lost today Royal Challengers Bangalore are still at number 4th slot while Punjab are at number 6th slot. I was watching the game with hope that king kohli will score some run today but he is out of luck these days. Kohli got out on just 20 and other batsmen also showed similar behavior like him. No one performed from RCB today.

Even with a big win it wasn't possible, very few team players have been playing with consistency and according to the match situation. In yesterday's match Chennai team's top order failed so is the rest. If there is some early wickets, the upcoming players should stand to make partnership. Mumbai too doesn't had the strong performance, losing 5 wickets to reach 98 runs is bad. If two more wickets have fallen, then match might've got changed.

Both teams are of not good class. I m sure if CSK have given target of 140 runs, MI would fail to chase that small target. CSK lost three top order batsman and remaining one also fail to score anything except MS Dohni. The only motivation left for MI is to swap 9th position with CSK.

We have some exciting news! England's men's Test team is now led by new head coach Brendan McCullum. Following signing a four-year deal with KKR, he will step down from his role. As a T20 specialist, he will have a tough task ahead of him! Although I believe this is a good decision by England since McCullum is an aggressive batsman, who will help England play a more aggressive style during a test match!

We have seen England suffer from batting problems in test matches in the past. Especially when the ball is moving off the seam. And also when the ball is swinging.

So, I believe this is going to be great for England. I am sure he will be able to make the players be able to play fearlessly. Players in test matches often don't come forward because they fear a good-paced bouncer will be coming. So, I believe that fear will be a lot less if he coaches.

So England after having new test captain are now getting new test coach as well. I think it will take sometime now before England will regain there lost form in test. At the moment, the only reliable batsmen in there test squad is Root. They have series coming up against Pakistan, so it will be exciting to see how they handle them.

Let's not forget the fact that the SLCB is receiving around $15-$20 million from the ICC every year. I would like to know where all this money is flowing in to, because till now I haven't seen any growth outside Colombo. Cricket in Sri Lanka remains confined to Colombo and it's suburbs. If players from other regions of Sri Lanka want to compete in first class cricket, then they need to travel to Colombo in order to do so. They don't even have a proper region-based domestic cricket structure and for the player pool they are entirely dependent on the cricket clubs in Colombo.

Money can't produce good sports team otherwise England won't have to wait till 2019 to win ODI world cup. In Srilanka there are also issues with tamil population they are not welcome in institutes controlled by central government. They need to expand cricket to other communities also.

In all this debate IOC and ICC also need to find some common ground.

I stopped following their discussion but back then one main roadblock was that IOC wanted or putting pressure on ICC about sending senior national teams and BCCI along with others (BIG-3 + ICC) were against it due to bilateral series and ofc some assumption that what would happen if ICC tournaments are clashing with the Olympics.

Not sure if it's resolved or not.

ICC and BCCI have no objection in stopping the International cricket for two months for IPL (one match per day). Its very much clear that Big 3 dont want Cricket to be in olympics or adding more cricket since that will challenge the supremacy of big3 in cricket. I dont think crikcet is going to Olympics as long as its controlled by big3.

I forgot that there are certain situations going on in Sri Lanka which might affect their performance in the field. If anyone doesn't know what is going on in Sri Lanka I suggest them to open the news.

Now back to cricket, I know that this situation is quite bad for Sri Lanka. But I still do not believe that Bangladesh is going to perform well enough to beat them because the Bangladeshi cricketers just cannot play test cricket. I don't know if they don't have enough patience or if they don't have enough skill. I just know that if I trust Bangladesh to win this test series I am going to make a mistake.

Situation inside Sri Lanka is very much same as is performance of their cricket team. At the moment there is no player in Sri Lanka that is reliable like Malinga, Dilshan or Sangakara. Coming towards Bangladesh, they may have some edge that they have some senior players that are playing test for years like Lutan Das and Shakib.

Yes, I agree with most of the points here. T10 really looks like something that should be done way into the future. Cricket is not in a good position right now even though a lot of people are going to say otherwise. I believe the addition of T20 cricket in the Olympics is surely going to be a great step taken for the best.

The only thing that I don't agree entirely with is that ODI is going to be dead soon. I believe ODI still has a lot of time to its popularity but it is true that as T20 is becoming more popular the longer formats of cricket will surely become a lot less popular around the whole world. If ICC wants to actually improve the situation of cricket it needs to concentrate on gaining popularity with the T20 format.

I think T20 is good enough, reducing T20 further down to T10 wont make game interesting rather make it unappealing. We have seen T10 league in Dubai and I dont like it. Cricket remain unpopular just because for decades we only have Test and ODI but now with introduction of T20 format more countries are taking interest in cricket.

I believe you’re right because the Srilankan player’s will probably be distracted by the sad events taking place at home, and this will be an advantage for Bangladesh player’s but do you’ll feel that they’ll be able to capitalise on it. Furthermore I’m backing Bangladesh to win or expecting the match to end up in a draw because I feel that they’re slightly better than Srilanka due to home advantage, but it seems that many here are backing Srilanka so maybe I’m the only one underestimating Srilanka?.

No you are not alone who is thinking like that. Sri lanka for quite sometimes is having performace issues in cricket and that mainly happend because there key players like Malinga, jayawardene, sangakara and Dilshan all left the team at same time. The current situation of Sri lanka will add more downfall to perfromance of Sri Lanka cricket team. I my view both teams are so same level now a days.

2. Yes. Cricket needs Olympics. That would make sure that associate nations receive funds from their respective governments. If the ICC doesn't want this, then they should increase the associate funding by 50x or 100x. And a popular sport is not something that is restricted to 4-5 countries.

There are many countries who don't take cricket seriously otherwise but there are fair chances that if cricket goes to Olympics then many countries will start taking cricket seriously. Also going to Olympics means more people will get to know about this sports and that will inturn increase number of countries participating in cricket. Real thing is, when we will see cricket in Olympics.

Strange results continue to come from IPL, yesterday we have an unexpected result from LSK and GT game and now similar result is expected from RR and DC. Mitchell Marsh is playing a superb innings, he is not out on 89. DC will win this match quite easily but can Mitchell Marsh score a century?
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 11, 2022, 03:33:51 PM

There is no type of influence like this in any other sports by the better performing or any teams with better money in the sports body.

Yes there can be certain cases made like in football there are some Russian persons in very important positions in football and that's why the 2018 World Cup was held in Russia,  but other than that the problem is not that major like cricket,  where it seems like the sports body is almost controlled by a certain group of cricket boards.

Giving host rights of WC to Russia is fine as long as they fulfill requirements of the football WC. Cricket is totally a different thing, here only 3 countries have full control. Before 2000, icc was very much neutral but after 2010 it went totally in control of big3. I don't think this is good for cricket in the long run.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 11, 2022, 03:06:38 PM

I think we all remember the last cricket world cup where Shakib Al Hasan was the only one holding the whole Bangladesh team together with his brilliant performance. He proves that he is actually the best cricketer in the whole world. But the Bangladesh cricket board is full of donkeys and people without a brain who obviously don't know how to do their work and that's why Shakib Al Hasan was never exploited with his full potential. If they decide to play against Sri Lanka without Shakib Al Hasan they will lose,  and I want everyone to remember this post because trust me, this prediction is going to be 100% accurate.

Bangladesh board is full of incompetent people that's why such ill disciplined player like Shakib is still a hero there. If Shakib is under some sane board then he would have been ban for life because of his behaviour issues. Bangladesh need good players they can't rely on one player for long term success.

I think you are talking about the Bangladesh versus Sri Lanka series? Yes, this is obviously going to be a really boring series in my opinion also. I think Bangladesh is really that in test cricket and Sri Lanka is obviously going to do that against a team like Bangladesh, especially in the test cricket format. I really don't expect too much from Bangladesh because, to be honest, they cannot play test cricket.

ICC has taken back test status from Zimbabwe because of political reasons but haven't done that with Bangladesh despite there poor test performance for years. But in this series Bangladesh has chance not because Bangladesh test performance has enhanced but due to fact that Srilanka performance has dropped so low.
