Anyway, I also agree that the media in the whole of Southeast Asia is especially getting out of control because they have certain connections with certain political leaders and that's why they basically don't care about anything much.

This is very unfortunate that media houses have no ethics specially in South Asia or South East Asia. The role of media is to play its role while remaining neutral but that's not the case these days. These media houses have polluted sports with there dirty tactics.

Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

This match should be a 50-50 between both these teams because I think the teams are in the same type of form right now and it is really hard to predict which team is going to win today.
SRH has won the toss and decided to bowl first.
the lineup is pretty much identical,

The match is very important for both teams. Victory here will take SRK to top 4 while DC chances to make it to top 4 will be brighten if they won today's game. Good thing for DC is that Warner is still on the crease and there projected score right now is 164. If Warner can stay till 12th or 13th over then chances are DC may tough 180.

Everyone has the same issue it is not possible in your busy schedule to sit and watch a Test match for a whole day. Still, there are a few who do watch a test match today. Maybe they have an option while working or maybe they are still die-hard fans of this format. I also cannot spare that amount of time for both ODI and Test cricket and therefore I am happy with the highlights. T20 or IPL are mostly played during the hours when I am also back from work hence I can watch those matches live.

Most working-class does the same but the same attitude can be seen with the younger generation.

T20I or league matches are held in afternoon or at night, that's why they widely watched and liked. If we talk about test then I only check score at the end of every day. After introduction of T20, its very hard to watch 100 over game that took your whole day.

All ICC has ever shown interest is in the money that comes from cricket and they are so blinded by the money that they cannot even see if the cricket does not spread around the world as a global sport they will eventually lose money and cricket will eventually die. and that has been the case for quite a long time where people are saying cricket needs to be globalized but ICC does not seem over it at all about it. It's ok to look for money because ultimately you need money to run a pretty big sports organization but if there is no one to play cricket what's the point of having money?

Right now the whole cricket industry is standing on shoulders of India, if bcci lose interest in cricket in case some other sports become popular in India then cricket will die. In present scenario it's very clear that icc is comfortable with current cricket playing nations and doesn't seem interested in inviting new countries.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: May 05, 2022, 11:02:06 AM
Exactly. Cryptocurrency is outside their control and unlike the case with fiat, the government officials can't create money out of thin air with crypto. All the other arguments are secondary. Here in India, a few days back the government actually asked the VPN providers to share the IP details of customers from India. Can you believe this? I am using a VPN in order to hide my identity. If the government knows from which IP I am accessing the VPN, then what is the point in using this service at all? Authoritarian behavior from the government is on the rise and this is not restricted to the case of a few countries.

Indian government is still somewhat flexible with crypto, in my country its altogether banned. People are arrested even for mining bitcoin in my county, can you believe this? Even in countries where crypto is allowed, government ensures that its through centralzied exchanges from where they can keep eye on it and collect taxes.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: May 04, 2022, 07:54:00 AM
I don't understand one thing. If a terrorist uses a M249 SAW light machine gun to murder scores of people, are you going to arrest the terrorist, or the manufacturer of this machine gun (FN Herstal)? Same with cryptocurrency as well. Crypto is just a medium and we can't expect all of the users to follow the rules. These arguments are applicable for fiat currency as well. Even now fiat is 100x more likely than cryptocurrency to be used for illegal dealings. But I have never seen anyone arguing for a ban on fiat currency.

Terror financing and money laundering is happening with fiat for centuries but no one is pointing on banning fiat. Just like fiat, crypto is double edge sword which has both good and bad usage. The only reason why government ignore fiat and focus on bad usage of crypto is because decentralized crypto is not under there control. Its really that simple.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Afraid to buy Bitcoin in its bearish state? on: May 04, 2022, 05:18:19 AM

It is indeed easier said than done but I don't think it is that hard to understand and somehow determine whether the price is cheap or not. They don't have to look for the bottom. It is impossible to hit it accurately. Right now for example, it is clear that Bitcoin's price is cheap. It doesn't mean it won't go any cheaper in the coming days but it is cheap and it is certain that the price would rise sooner or later. And of course hodl is indeed the way to go right after buying. The price may fall further but it will rise eventually.

If you are not sure how far price of bitcoin will go before jumping up then it's best go buy btc in chunks aka not buying btc at one price with all your capital. This gives you option to average you buying. 38k$ is a very safe bet if you can hodl for month or two. Price of bitcoin is fluctuating in between 35 to 45k$ for quite a while now.

Punjab won the match with 4 overs to spare, so the win boosted their net run rate as well. They are at 5th spot now, behind the SRH (and SRH has played one match less than Punjab). Right now, Lucknow and Gujarat are all set to enter the next phase, which is surprising considering the fact that these two are new franchises and this is their first season. Rajasthan is at #3 with 12 points from 10 matches. But their entry to the next stage is not confirmed and they have all of their last two matches (against KKR and Mumbai).

Punjab just destroyed Gujarat in last game. GT gave target of 143 and that too because of Sai Sudharsan 65 runs, apart from that there is nothing worthy in GT batting lineup. A part from Jonny Bairstow, every batsmen in Punjab batting lineup was lucky yesterday. This loss won't have any impact on GT chances of reaching next stage but definitely its a big bonus for Punjab.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 04, 2022, 05:05:00 AM
The reason is very simple. The headquarters of the ICC is in UAE, and the organization is being managed by people with zero connections to cricket. And there is a disproportionate influence on the ICC coming from the GCC nations, who first invented the idea of fielding teams entirely comprised of foreigners. Two decades back, the eligibility criteria was changed, under pressure from the Emirates Cricket Board (and supported by the BCCI and PCB). Anyway, I won't be surprised if the number of participants are reduced further in the future. The PCB has already suggested a 4-team super league (big 3 + Pakistan).

PCB idea was rejected straight away. Don't know why they proposed such plan when India is not willing to play with Pakistan even in WC. Management is totally a different thing, you don't need to be a cricketer to be a good manager at icc executive body. The problem is icc has limited its focus to few counties only.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 04, 2022, 05:00:24 AM
There are a total of 91 teams listed here. But apart from African teams and a few Asian teams, almost all of the associate teams listed here are 100% composed of foreign players (especially from India and Pakistan). For the namesake, the ICC can claim that cricket is very popular and their ranking includes 91 different countries. But in reality, only around 20 of these teams are composed of native players. And in the recent times, the ICC funding is skewed heavily to favor teams primarily being consisted of foreign players.

Hardly any country outside top 15 or 20 is capable of playing cricket. While if we see fifa rankings then countries in top 75 are capable of giving good performance. Its not incorrect to say that cricket is game of subcontinent now. Players from these countries are the only reason why we are seeing 91 countries in T20 table.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 03, 2022, 06:03:36 PM
I think the ICC funds should be spent on the teams who are actually serious about cricket and are not making the whole team only with outsiders.

I really don't think it's like they don't have any native players.

I think that the team is made out of foreign players just because they don't want to spend time and money searching for players in the native region.

So, instead of giving them a good amount of money, I think ICC should concentrate on the countries that are actually trying to find legit players to play for the national team and give them some money for help.

This is what we are trying to figure out that why ICC is giving more funds to teams that have 100% foreigner players over teams that have 100% native players. Its an irony that 100 years old game is still having a world cup of 8 to 10 teams. Cricket need to expand beyond these 10 countries, its need of the hour.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 03, 2022, 05:59:18 PM

Alas, my prediction was wrong in relation to this match. PBKS had an outstanding match today and totally washed out GT. @mamun74 - good prediction in regarding the match. I'm sure that if you had bet for PBKS, the betting odds would have been higher and you would have got a huge payout for it.

No one was expecting this result. Everyone like me thought that it will be an easy win for GT but thanks to extraordinary spell by Kagiso Rabada, GT were restricted to 143. PBKS chased that without much hassle. Now we are seeing low scoring games, team batting first are mostly scoring  around 150.

  • Did it happen to you?
  • How comfortable are you every time you transfer to a remote address?
  • Would you be more comfortable using a helper?
  • What do you use today to mitigate this risk?

If you loss your bitcoin then just move on. There is nothing you can do to recover it. To mitigate this risk best thing you can do is, in case you are transferring a big amount then better send a small amount first to conclude that you are sending to right address.

MI first mistake was that they heavily invested on a single player rather diversifying their investments on different players in the auction. The one they bought has been an utter failure and this mistake has costed them this IPL season. In my opinion CSK should have stick with Dhoni as the captain from the beginning. Replacing Ravindra jadeja now with him will not make any great impact.

There is hardly any notable player in MI. I remember when kishan was bought by MI for 15 crore, everyone was saying its  a wise decision by MI as kishan has good record in MI. Apart from kishan, Rohit is also proving to be a failure both as batsmen and captain.
CSK should stick with Jadeja, so that he can get the experience. IPL is already over for both MI and CSK.

Netherlands has some of the oldest cricket clubs in the world. But during the last two decades, the popularity of the sport there has taken a severe hit. The ICC is favoring teams comprised of foreigners and the ones with native players such as the Netherlands are losing out. A number of cricket clubs have closed down in the recent past, some of them more than a hundred years old. Remaining players don't feel confident, as they are concerned about the decision made by the ICC to reduce number of participating teams in the world cup.

Netherland was never a good cricketing side, we have lost Zimbabwe and Kenya who were once a very strong cricketing side due to icc cricket friendly policies. Now countries like UAE and Oman are participating in WC as associate nation while strong teams are vanishing.

Well... finally they managed to win a match this season. The performance from Sanju Samson and the other Rajasthan batsmen were not up to the mark today, and their bowlers could not successfully defend such a small total. Riley Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya bowled outstandingly for Mumbai today, well supported by economic spells from Jasprit Bumrah and Daniel Sams. And when they came out to bat, once again Suryakumar Yadav was exceptional. And this time Ishan Kishan managed to get in to two digits.

Finally a relief for MI after 8 straight losses they saw a victory. Jos Buttler continuing his brilliant form, apart from Jos Buttler no one contributed. You already highlighted MI batting. Suryakumar Yadav rightly deserves to be man of the match for his 51 runs.

There is some effort from the ICC to grow cricket in countries such as the United States. They are providing direct entry to the United States for the 2024 T20 World Cup. But their strategy is mostly focused on expats from South Asia and West Indies. I am not much excited in this strategy, because I always believe that unless you don't include the locals, the game may never grow in these markets. And the ICC has hardly any interest in the other major markets (China, Japan, Germany, France, Brazil, Nigeria, Italy.etc).

Cricket is liked by South Asian mostly rest of the countries like NZ, Aus have interest in other sports also they are not solely crazy for cricket. There are millions of immigrants in USA from South Asia and now they have 2nd and 3rd generation born and grown up in USA. Team of USA is different then what gulf countries are doing.

Rjasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians

Rajasthan Royals collected 6 runs in 13 overs. Their run rate is now 6.69. They have lost only two wickets. Their run rate is so low it amazes me. I thought maybe today they would give more than 200 targets, since Mumbai's bowling is not good. But now it seems that Rajasthan Royals will not be able to do more than 160-170. And if Mumbai can hold Rajasthan below 170, then maybe they are going to get a win first.

It's tournament 2nd best team vs tournament worst team. The only thing we wanna see is that can MI win or they will grab 9th consecutive loss of there IPL 2022 journey. RR have given a target of 158 and its very much in the reach but seeing the performance of MI it looks very difficult.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 30, 2022, 04:08:19 PM

DanWalker's query was related to ICC (international stage) vs IPL revenue.

I wanted to point out that ICC earn less amount of money due to this main reason (based on ICC tournaments like T-20 WC, WC).

- Only BIG 3 fixtures generate enough money in ICC tourney, mainly India.
- Rest of the fixtures in the ICC Tourney are not profitable, barring few.
- IPL revenue only depends on the local market, which is already big.

Thanks for clarification. You are right in saying that ICC revenue is far less then what IPL is generating. ICC these days is not much interested in increasing its revenue by adding more countries to cricket pool. ICC can't earn huge unless he has atleast 30 to 40 countries as regular test teams.
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues to decline, what causes it? on: April 30, 2022, 03:46:52 PM
As the market is fluctuating between $39k and $41500, there is fear among the users that it could fall low anytime. As a result the greed and fear index of the market is at the worse. This is also a key factor for the short term bearish move. Along with this price have fallen down to the 50 day moving average. This shows that the market will retest $37k and the low bottom seems like $35k for now.

Everyone has its own point of view about bitcoin price but IMO price of bitcoin is very much stable in the window of 35k$ to 45k$. I followed many prediction indicators about price of bitcoin but all failed. As long as price is fluctuating in b/w 35 to 45 its fine, anything outside will raise eye brows.
