"Significantly improved speed on AMD RX 470 - RX 590 series of gpus (by 30%)"
https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-releases/releases/tag/1.87

It's been a long time since I've seen such changes in improving performance for old 8-year-old video cards. There have also been improvements for RX 460 video cards, which I very rarely see in mining.

Please, you can make it if you have some free time. It can save some people from searching on Google and ending up with phishing links.
I'll try to do it.
I think that the problem for beginners is that in many countries there are no official representatives of mining companies, or delivery with customs clearance from the official store is long and expensive.
A beginner should learn to check the information, look at the age of the site or ask on the forum, and not write about deception after the purchase.

I have crypto mining in mind right now and I am stuck at a junction between these two offers.

X10 of RTX 4090 which costs $2000 = Very good for ProgPowZ which can net me $19 per day using

Or x30 pieces of RTX 3070 graphic cards which are very good for the same ProgPow and can also net me $19

RTX 4090 costs $2000 each and 3070 costs $330 each.

What I was able to find out is that the ten 4090s will take less power consumption than the thirty 3070s, if you are in my shoe which offer will you choose and why?

The RTX 4090 will undoubtedly be better because these graphics cards can be used for both mining and other computing.
But the RTX 4090 has one major problem, like all hot graphics cards, and that is overheating.
These video cards consume up to 400 watts and get very hot. If you know how to solve this problem, then buy it. The RTX 3070 does not have such problems.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Hosting - Discussion on: April 13, 2024, 09:06:18 AM
This is not the first time I have written this

1. Basic Cost Structure
Electricity costs refer to the expenses incurred from the consumption of electrical power to run mining machines.
At CircleHash, we operate with a standard electricity cost of $0.2 per kilowatt-hour (kW/h).
2. Hydro-Powered Operations
The majority of our mining operations are powered by hydroelectric sources.
Hydroelectric power is a sustainable and environmentally-friendly energy option that harnesses the natural flow of water to generate electricity.

https://www.circlehash.com/page/electricity-costs

This is a very expensive price for electricity and for hydropower this is a very expensive tariff!
106  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What filters or materials for filters do you use? on: April 13, 2024, 08:59:52 AM
For a 100cm x 100cm input hole, you'll want something sturdy and efficient. I'd go for a HEPA filter if you're dealing with air quality concerns, especially if it's for something like a ventilation system.
After I looked at the prices, I have no desire to use these filters for ASICs, because they are very expensive. Well, why pay 20-30 dollars for 1 filter? ASICs do not need such air purification, and simpler and cheaper solutions are usually used. Such a filter is probably only for exceptional cases, but even then I would use 2 filters. One is for rough cleaning of dust and dirt, and the second is regular.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: IceRiver KS5L - opinion? on: April 13, 2024, 08:54:10 AM
For example I know few people that got scammed by iceriveri.io which you claim to be the official iceriver, but nowhere to found their company name etc. lmao
And why are they not opening up scam accusations here. Encourage them to do so instead of just “knowing” them. You could as well make a case out of your findings if they are concrete enough.

Just stop shilling a scam that is known here or else you will get a red tag personally from me. This is not a bluff.
Check out this post. Is all the official data from equipment manufacturers’ websites written here correctly?
I would make a topic with a list of verified official sites so that users do not go to tick sites like iceriveri, where one letter is added or changed in the name.

108  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solar powered mining only during sunlight and without batteries on: April 12, 2024, 10:39:11 AM
I think that such mining is possible somewhere in the desert, where the sun shines constantly and there are very few clouds and rain. But without additional batteries and a backup power source, the equipment will be very unstable. You need to consider what the payback will be if the ASICs work only 12 hours a day.

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Larissa Protocol - Decentralizing Possibilities | Pre-Launch Testnet Phase on: April 12, 2024, 10:22:50 AM
Larissa #LRS developers have implemented a new schedule for issuing block rewards in the Larissa Network!
https://larissa.network/emission
https://t.me/journalmainera/3233

Income of LRSNode DAO
I- MINING POOL:
We will have a community-driven mining pool (pool.larissa.network) with a high emphasis on decentralisation that incentivizes miners to join by providing reliable and profitable mining opportunities. Our mining pool will use the latest technologies and algorithms to ensure the highest possible mining efficiency and returns for our miners. And the 1% of Fees of Larissa Pool will go to the LRSNode DAO

II- LRSNode ASIC MINING FARM:
LRSNode will also have its own ASIC mining farm that it will develop and grow. The mining farm will feed its hash-power to the Larissa official mining pool and its profits to the LRSNODE DAO

III- Larissa Store Profit:
Whenever user buys a LRSNode Licence Key by swapping LRS to LRSN, 100% of LRSN will go to LRSNode DAO

III- NFT Mint Profit:
LRSNode DAO membership: To become a member of the LRSNode DAO, members must first mint a unique NFT membership number. The membership fee starts with 500 LRS. The funds generated from the minting process are sent to the LRSNODE DAO.

111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Metachain mining on: April 12, 2024, 10:17:57 AM
I wonder if 5 SECONDS BLOCKTIME is something that makes us say that the Proof of Work (Ethash) algorithm is safe? This time is not enough to conduct a proper hash, broadcast the block, and start receiving new transactions to add to the new block.
It seems that the new blockchain is a hardfork of Ethereum, a faster version with cheaper fees, but I doubt it is secure.
I'm not ready to argue with you, but I will name a few coins with even less time
Nautilus(NTL) Karlsenhash algorithm, Nexellia(NXL) Karlsenhash algorithm, Karlsen(KLS)  Karlsenhash algorithm - 1 second
Conflux(CFX) Octopus algorithm - 0.5 second
I haven't heard of any security issues with these blockchains and I've only written a few coins. In fact, there are many more of them.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is Mining Kaspa Worth It? on: April 12, 2024, 10:09:10 AM
if the bull run has not topped yet, yes. if bear market starts then all is shit hehehe
If the bullish growth has not yet reached the top, then the number of people willing to buy a quick-payback ASIC will grow, and the number of mined coins will be constant and decrease in accordance with the graph. But if a fall suddenly occurs, then buyers of expensive ASICs will be very disappointed.

114  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My s9 free electricity location... gone...sad.. on: April 11, 2024, 12:33:03 PM
After the halving, many older models will become ineffective, and here they used a very old S9 ASIC. In my country, these ASICs sell for 10-20 dollars, so you can still get some money by selling the equipment. Many people buy this equipment for collection, so you have the opportunity to sell the old ASIC.

Prisma Finance Hacked; Hacker Demands Apology and Offers to Return $11M

Following a hack of Prisma Finance that caused an $11 million loot from this prominent liquid staking protocol, a hacker in the decentralized finance (defi) division has made some stunning proposals. This person called themselves to be white-hat hackers since they are good ethical hackers who try to find bugs and fix them. Under certain conditions, the money they stole can be returned according to this incident that took place on March 28.

I've recently been diving into the world of cryptocurrency mining and came across Kaspa. Given its unique features and the DAG structure it employs, I'm intrigued by its potential. However, before committing any resources, I wanted to gather some opinions and insights from the community. Grin
The blockDAG architecture – with rapid block rates – allows more mining decentralization and enables effective solo-mining even at lower hashrates. Fair-launched in November of 2021 with no pre-mine, zero pre-sales, and no coin allocations; Kaspa is 100% decentralized, open-source, and community managed.  The max supply of Kaspa is 28.7 Billion coins with an emission schedule that halves once per year via smooth monthly reductions by a factor of (1/2)^(1/12).
https://kaspa.org/tokenomics/
There are currently 23.088 billion coins in circulation
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Kaspa With What? on: April 10, 2024, 05:26:07 PM
Is 33 dB to 40 dB the result of the experiment or what they promise you? Reducing the noise from 75 to 33 would be great, but the best I got was ~(50-55) dB.
You are right that a regular noise box reduces the noise level on average from 80-90 dB to 50-55 dB, but if you add additional noise insulation to ventilation ducts and other elements, as well as replace the cooling system, you can further reduce the noise level by 10-15 dB . But this will be very expensive and depends on the ASIC model and the location for mining.
A soundproof room will be sufficient as a noise level of 50-55 dB can be tolerated.
These solutions remain useful for those who own one or two mining devices, but for mining farms or whenever the number of miners exceeds two, it will be completely different.
Soundproofing a room using 2 ASICs is a big question of return on investment. Usually miners try to save as much as possible on this and use inexpensive noise boxes and do not install ASICs in apartments. Basically, ASICs are rarely found in apartments, because the neighbors will complain.

I would love to have one of this with that level of noise as I keep my mining rig with 2-3 cards which is of the same noise if not more and most likely no one has ever complained so far, even when I keep my windows open as I have the mining rig in my living room, yet at 400 watt I would love an ASIC with such a huge amount of processing hash for the Kheavyhash algorithm. The ASIC companies seems to have gotten right also the market of occasional alternative home miners which think more about the future rather than the present and are betting on a long term profit.
The fans of video cards are much weaker than the fans that are installed on ASICs, so the noise of the former is much less. The noise of the fans from an ordinary industrial ASIC is terrible for an apartment. BUT, as a rule, after 400-watt ASICs, industrial options for 2-3 kilowatts will appear and the profit will fall.
