ASRock confirms Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT memory configurations
ASRock has once again lodged submissions for its upcoming Radeon RX 7000 series with the regulatory office of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The latest information from these submissions appears to uncover two of AMD’s yet-to-be-announced Radeon desktop GPUs.

As long as rumors are concerned, RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT should be released this quarter. A new flow of leaks may suggest that the launch is closer than one might expect.

Do you think it will be ok to order a batch of video cards from China for mining ?
The idea is bad because most likely the sellers will deceive you and send you not a new product, but it will be your fault too, because you want to buy video cards at a price that is much cheaper than on the market. Video cards can be defective and you will find a defect in the first months of mining, and you will not get a quick replacement from China.

I only buy used GPU´s in the last 7 Years and non of this is gone. Buy China GPU´s is smart at the moment. RTX3060 12GB under $120 or 70HX for $123 or AMD BC-160 for $70. Keep your costs down and you are faster back in green. And i am sure the GPU prices will go up. RTX4000 production stopped, bullmarket is coming (mid - end 2024 - mid 2025), so mining profitability go up and you can sell your old used cards from china for more  Wink

We bought many GPU´s from china the sellers are super friendly, helpfull, i get videos from tests before they sell it to me. Some GPU´s come with brand new coolers, thermalpaste and thermalpads and the whole card looks new. So why not using it?

AMD BC-160 for $70 is a great buy when the recommended MSRP at $2000 was in 2021. I myself would gladly buy at such prices, but I would sell half so that the second half of the video cards would be free for me. In Russia, such a video card costs $300. If your supplier is on Alibaba or other Chinese wholesale online stores, please send his contacts to the PM.

>>snip<<
Just curious though. Not so much is talked about this coin lately. How is the mining of this coin going on?
Are some of the miners still very hopeful about the future of the coin?
On the one hand, mining this coin is difficult, because preparing hard drives takes some time, depending on the characteristics of your PC. But then the mining farm consumes little electricity and does not make noise. It is convenient to mine in an apartment. But now it is more profitable to buy this coin at $31.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Another bad experience with Rtx 4080 on: August 09, 2023, 11:51:47 AM

even low quality components gets a good life span if you use them at half the rated spec and in cooler environment.

an example is LED bulbs i own Philips, that have average lifespan of 1 year (heavy use), i had a chinese (forgot the brand), but due to aluminum heat sink to the electronic component, lasted for 4+ years (heavy use).

hehe that's why you don't throw old cards, you stress test first with a bunch of 290x and then run it light and cool.

even branded quality PSUs breaks down due to heat and high load. huge ATX PSU will save you the trouble of dealing with break out boards.

also if it is cheap, it will ROI faster.
There is a big guarantee for branded power supplies up to 10 years, although these branded power supplies broke down for me. But since service centers in my country do not repair them, the sellers returned the money to me for the purchase. Sometimes it turned out to buy a similar power supply cheaper.
There may not be a problem with Chinese power supplies, but now it is better to buy a proven branded PSU, because they are cheap.

Here is the math,

1300w branded psu ~ 300$
2600w chinese cheap psu ~ 150$

The 1300w can be used for 80% load, that's ~ 1000w, the 2600w used at 50% is 1300w.

Warranty is already priced in the retail, at ~300$ you already bought the 10yr warranty. For the cheap psu, you don't need to wait for 10 years for ROI.

I would only use the cheap psu on old gpus, when upgrading use the branded on new cards, move the old cards to the chinese psu.

I agree with you dear friend. I have 3 chinese psu 1600w cost me 40-50$ each used. I loaded them 900w and they are working since 2017. They are not bad but i saw there is rubbish chinese psu too.1st of all when you get pay into your hands it must be heavy. Only this reason i bought these cinese psus they are heavy.it is best way i guess to understand if psu is good quality if you dont have nothing to measure.

I also have not always used branded power supplies, and I am ready to confirm your words that they work well, but they have the disadvantage of lower efficiency and they consume more electricity from the outlet. Another downside is that these power supplies are harder to find repairs if they break. But on the other hand, there are now a lot of good and inexpensive power supplies at low prices.

How much did you pay for ASIC with delivery?
Take some photos.

Now the profit drops by an average of 30 dollars a day, but I am sure that you can win with such mining. Good luck to you. But now these ASICs are already dangerous to order.
1046  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: USB Mining on: August 06, 2023, 09:40:42 PM
Hello everyone

Usb Bitcoin Miner ! is that recommended for a newbie?

Using USB Bitcoin miners, especially older and low-performance models, is generally not recommended for newcomers to cryptocurrency mining.

If you're new to Bitcoin mining and are interested in getting started, here are some steps you can take:

Educate Yourself: Before you start mining, it's important to understand how the process works, the technology involved, and the potential risks and rewards. There are plenty of online resources, guides, and forums where you can learn about Bitcoin mining.

Research Mining Hardware: Instead of USB miners, consider investing in more powerful and efficient ASIC miners. Research different models, their specifications, performance, and reviews. Focus on models that are currently relevant and can provide a reasonable return on investment.

Calculate Costs and Potential Returns: Use online calculators to estimate potential profitability based on your chosen hardware, electricity costs, and other relevant expenses. Keep in mind that the mining landscape can change rapidly, so it's important to factor in potential changes in Bitcoin's price and mining difficulty.

Select a Mining Pool: If you decide to mine, it's generally recommended to join a mining pool. Mining pools increase your chances of earning rewards by combining the computational power of multiple miners. Research and choose a reputable mining pool with a fair distribution system.

Setup and Configuration: Once you have your hardware, you'll need to set it up. This involves connecting the hardware to your computer or a dedicated mining rig, configuring the mining software, and connecting to your chosen mining pool.

Monitor and Maintain: Mining requires ongoing monitoring and maintenance. You'll need to ensure that your hardware is running smoothly, temperatures are within safe limits, and that you're receiving payouts from the mining pool.

Stay Updated: The cryptocurrency space evolves rapidly. Stay informed about changes in technology, regulations, and market conditions that might affect your mining operation.

Risk Management: Keep in mind that mining involves financial risk. Due to the complex and competitive nature of the industry, there's no guarantee of profits.

This is not a miner, but entertainment for people who have expensive electricity and are unable to install a modern ASIC due to noise or expensive electricity. Asics with water cooling do not solve the problem of expensive electricity.

I'm considering a small new setup, however the location is noise sensitive, therefore I am considering the use of immersion. Can anybody recommend any off-the-shelf packages and or reputable suppliers?
And how many ASICs do you want to buy for mining?
If this is a small number of asics, then consider the possibility of installing noise boxes. If you cool the liquid with a radiator, then you will also have additional noise. With noiseboxes, you will start mining faster.

1049  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New asic for bitcoin or scam? on: August 06, 2023, 09:15:36 PM
And what is this company that recently appeared on the market and released asics, which are better in terms of characteristics than the leader of this market?
Intel has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in a new direction to produce their own chips for mining, and they could not compete with Bitmain and closed this project at a loss.

Intel tried to compete against Samsung and TSMC, that was a challenge on a different level, the new K10PRO miner probably uses the same chips used by Bitmain but with a modified design, it's not so difficult to do that, you just add more chips, lower the clock and you get more hashrate with lower power consumption, the real challenge here would be the price point.

Bitmain, MicroBT, and all these guys can design and make a miner that does a lot more hashrate than the K10PRO with the same or even lower power consumption, but they always want to balance these four aspects

1- Cost
2- Power
3- Hashrate
4- Quality

Apparently, the ratio is different for every company and every individual miner, we know the power and hashrate of  K10PRO we just don't know the cost and quality, for all we know, it could be a lot more expensive than the other models in the market and thus makes no sense to buy it, more info will be revealed as time goes by, as miners this competition is good for us to a certain degree.

Here is a good review/breakdown video of the K10PRO by my friend Thecoindad

Intel To Join Bitcoin Mining ASIC Market With New Chip
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/intel-to-join-bitcoin-mining-asic-market-with-new-chip

One thing, Samsung and TSMC don't make their own mining chips. Why then did Intel try to invent a new chip for so many years, if it was possible to use Bitmain chips with a modified design? Isn't this industrial espionage if the chips are identical in configuration?

Curve Offers Hackers 10% Bounty in Exchange for Return of Crypto

Curve Finance and other victims of this week’s crypto lending heist have offered their hackers a 10% bounty in exchange for the return of the rest of their tokens.

"You will have no risk of us pursuing this further, no risk of law enforcement issues, etc," Curve, Metronome and Alchemix wrote in an on-chain message sent to a hacker's Ethereum address. The trio gave a deadline of August 6 at 0800 UTC, at which point their bounty will become a vigilante payout to whomever provides information that leads to the hacker's arrest and conviction.

1051  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How can i start bitcoin mining? on: August 05, 2023, 10:03:30 PM
It's unlikely that anyone will teach you because it's a competition. I can only advise you to study in more detail the very nature of Bitcoin and how mining works. It may be possible to find some videos but don't get your hopes up for practical advice. It is better to try, to start with a little, and then you will understand as you go.
It may be a competition but no one is anyone's enemy. If you have a good understanding of mining and share that knowledge with others, I don't think it will hurt you. Since no one is harmed by discussing mining here, I think everyone will express their own opinion about mining here. OP didn't want to learn about mining here he just wanted to get some idea about mining from experienced members, in view of getting his idea many members have already shared their knowledge about mining with him.

OP is new to mining and is interested in mining that's why he expressed his interest to know how to start mining. Many people have shared different opinions about starting mining, hope the OP has at least learned a bit about starting mining.
About 10 years ago, probably no one would want to mess with the training of a beginner and many miners learned from their mistakes. Now everything is different, for example, if you buy a batch of ASICs from a manufacturer or a dealer, then as a bonus they train your specialists in the maintenance of mining containers and ASICs, and invite you to free internships every 6 months. If you buy specialized ASIC repair equipment, then your specialists will also be trained and trained for free or at big discounts.
1052  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New asic for bitcoin or scam? on: August 05, 2023, 09:53:28 PM
I hope this is for real, I have been so hungry for a new Asic miner all this while, to me this doesn't look like fake yet

It's not fake, it's real (I confirmed it from various trusted sources I know) it uses a 5.4kw PSU it's based on a high-density design using 1,092 chips inside this little miner, all running at low frequency to achieve these amazing results you see in the video, of course, this will have a huge impact on the cost, but ya, this is one pretty little piece.

Oh, and it's Chinese-made as well, and these guys are to something in terms of the design and software, it runs on 200-277v with a promised ambient temp of as high as 50c, I highly doubt small users will get their hands on these things, probably the big boys will buy them all, but let's wait and see.
And what is this company that recently appeared on the market and released asics, which are better in terms of characteristics than the leader of this market?

1053  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: August 04, 2023, 09:41:55 PM
With solar energy efficiency going up and hardware costs dropping dramatically over time thanks to Moore's law, I could see solar energy playing a more prominent role in fueling mining operations without having to resort to eating up the energy grid which could not only go out at any time but also is not clean and renewable either.
The efficiency of solar energy for mining in sunny countries is very high if the mining companies have an agreement to consume electricity at night, even when electricity is not used as much. But I did not serve for large miners to produce solar electricity on their own.

Why is it still ETC + ZIL? ZIL can be dual-mined with most profitable coins, and this is not parallel mining, but simply switching to ZIL mining about 1 time per hour for a short time when necessary. Nvidia's shares are growing stronger than AMD's, and the topic of AI is more profitable for them.

Yes, just make sure that you are ordering from Bitmain.  Grin
If you are ordering from outside of China, then check the taxes you will pay in your country, because additional taxes on a batch of video cards will be large.
There is a very good site.
https://alibaba.com/
but now in my country i can buy a used graphics card cheaper than when ordering from china. But for new video cards, you already need to consider the risks and benefits.

Has anyone studied the legality of mining taxes? In which countries can you officially mine, pay taxes and sleep peacefully?

Just look at which countries have fully legalized cryptocurrency. As of today, cryptocurrency is fully legalized in 15 countries. These are Belarus, Canada, Germany, Canada, El Salvador, Germany, Italy, Malta, Norway, Spain, El Salvador, USA, Ukraine, Philippines, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia, Japan. And if cryptocurrency is fully legalized, it means that cryptocurrency mining is also allowed. Please, pay taxes and do mining for health Smiley I think so.

P.S. You know Russian, you can read it yourself here.
Germany, Italy, Malta, Norway, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia. These countries have very expensive electricity. There is no tax on mining in Russia, but not in all regions it is profitable. I am sure that you will not be able to sleep well in the mining business, because in many countries laws change as soon as there are a lot of miners.
1059  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I have cheap electric, wondering if mining is now something that I can do profit on: August 03, 2023, 07:44:20 PM
So I can now get my electricity for $0.05 per KWh. This is a new opportunity that has landed in front of me and I have the capital to invest a decent chunk into this. I was wondering if it is currently profitable to be doing it from scratch whilst paying the price listed above.

I've done a lot of research throughout reddit and toyed with some of the calculators but thought I'd post with my actual situation to see what other people thought.

Thanks for the time and hopefully I haven't broken any rules posting this!
This is a good electricity price for ASIC mining. I don't know if you have premises to install asics and what expenses you will need to start. I would immediately buy a container for asics, because this will allow you to quickly start mining and the container can always be transported to another place. Otherwise, you will have to spend a lot of money on repairs elsewhere.

In the USA there are some nice containers for 20k they can do 150 s19s

But they need a lot of kwatts to do that. around 500kwatts of power.

While the op mentions 5 cent power he did not say if he has
10kwatts an hour
100kwatts an hour
1000kwatts an hour.

It will help to know what he has available to him.
I also saw small containers for 100 ASICs on sale. If he has 300-500 kwatts an hour, then he can quickly start a business. And the remaining places can be rented out to close friends, because the investment will pay off in less than a year. If there are 20 kwatts an hour, then this is not enough for ASICs, and for video cards, the payback period is 3-4 times higher.
1060  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New asic for bitcoin or scam? on: August 03, 2023, 07:37:42 PM
If this is not a scam, then we will soon see reviews of this ASIC. Compared with the new ASICs from Bitmain, the characteristics of the new ASIC are real, but everyone is interested in what chips it is built on.

https://shop.bitmain.com/
Buyers will be interested in the price and reliability of the new ASIC.
