1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: miner 2023 / 2024 on: August 16, 2023, 11:09:30 AM
Hi all

First:

I would like to know if you have any NEWS about future miners for 2024? Apart from a new miner on the Monero algorithm, and another BTC rating, would there be corridor noises about other types?

Second: if to date you had the choice to mine over a period of 2 years on what type of algorithm would you do it? apart from BTC ...

Thank you
If you do not have equipment for mining coins other than bitcoin, then it is better to buy coins, the price of which, in your opinion, will grow in the future. Now bitcoin mining is more profitable than any altcoins, but you should have cheap electricity and the ability to buy inexpensive ASICs.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: solution for kaspa coin miner on: August 13, 2023, 04:37:32 PM
BITMAIN ANTMINER KS3 is already mining Kaspa coin
https://www.hashrate.no/asics/ks3
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-ks3-8-3th
This is what the growth of mining difficulty tells us
https://2miners.com/kas-network-difficulty

With an MSRP of $49,800, this is a serious investment, although the ASIC is already cheaper because its profit is falling every day.

If you want to pay back the equipment in 1 month, then this is not a feasible idea. For 9 years in mining, I have not seen this.
The miners made a good profit because they did not sell their coins for several years. I would not buy ANTMINER KS3.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Nicehash KYC all of a sudden on: August 13, 2023, 04:28:14 PM
Wanted to use my account after years of inactivity. But before I could do anything it asks for KYC. Why does an mining hash rate marketplace ask for KYC exactly? It’s not an exchange.

This is ridiculous. Especially giving them KYC after that hack that happened years prior. Makes me wondering where they will draw the line on all this KYC stuff.

Any other services such as Nicehash without KYC?
safar1980 compiled a list of similar services
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5457533.msg62459153#msg62459153
I haven't used nicehash for a long time, but this service does not require KYC for other miners to mine on their equipment. It is now expensive to rent mining equipment there. Try registering a new account.

1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is crypto mining still profitable? on: August 12, 2023, 05:39:05 PM
is cloud mining profitable, can you share your experience, please?
Try looking around for GPU renting services if you can't mine with it. I recall some users sharing how they make some money by renting their GPU for decentralized computing services. It should offer you better results compared to cloud mining especially if you have some GPU laying around. Cloud mining is only profitable for the business while the user only gets a very small profit most of the time (or scams, as mentioned above). CMIIW.
These services do not guarantee 100% rent to the miner. The miner will be forced to overpay for more expensive equipment, but as a result, his video cards will mine coins with a small profit 90% of the time. Therefore, if you do not have guarantees for renting your equipment, then try to take into account only the payback from mining.

Another newbie advertising ks asics  Grin come on people are not stupid.good luck with your ks Ekaterinaaaa
This user does not advertise stores for buying ASICs and the post is not very informative for advertising.
If I was paid for advertising, I would show my mining progress every day Smiley
The price of this ASIC should greatly decrease in a month along with the profit from it.

Manufacturer advertising does not need stores to advertise, besides the coin is pumping which is the best form of advertising hehehe

When the difficulty of mining a coin grows 6 times in the last 40 days, and the price grows only 3 times, then only those miners who get ASICs first will earn here.
Let's see the mining difficulty in another month, I think that not all ASICs have started mining yet.

1027  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Decentralisation of the Bitcoin mining pools on: August 12, 2023, 05:23:54 PM
if bitcoin is centralised how good is it ? notably in comparaison to other blockchains like Ethereum, Solana etc ...
I'd say way better. If you argue that mining centralization is a big issue then other blockchains have other forms of centralization that might affect the network more than some miners mining in one pool IMO. For example, developers belong to one organization that needs to follow regulations where they live, new miners/node need to be approved by some people before they can start participating in the network, and so on. In my opinion, the chance that your transaction is blocked in such a blockchain is way higher than if you use Bitcoin, even if mining power is concentrated on one or two pools. CMIIW.
If you look at the old information on pool hashrates by country, then China was in the lead before the ban on mining in this country. In POV mining, it is impossible to block transactions because miners want to get the maximum profit from their work. And in POS mining, the owners of most coins can always change the consensus rules.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is crypto mining still profitable? on: August 11, 2023, 03:47:46 PM
Hey guys! Hope you to share your experience and thoughts
Since ETH switched to PoS on September 15th, 2022 mining ended for me, there's no coins to mine and to earn. But I still have equipment (however, its price dropped in a half), so I'm curious - are there any crypto you can still mine and get income?
What video cards do you have and what is the cost of electricity?
Now you can mine some coins for the future or sell old video cards and buy slightly more powerful video cards from miners instead. It is not yet profitable to buy new video cards for mining.
1029  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Decentralisation of the Bitcoin mining pools on: August 11, 2023, 03:42:23 PM
A mining pool cannot ban bitcoin mining even if it has more than 51% hashrate. The pool may not take transactions into its own blocks, but then the profit of the miners on this pool will greatly decrease. The miners will go to other pools, and this pool will go bankrupt and lose customers due to the scandal. I don't think that the mining pool will violate the rules of coin mining.

1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are your thoughts on Proof of Useful Work (PoUW)? on: August 11, 2023, 03:26:26 PM
POuW requires GPUs with good processors and ram with many lanes and usually 8x to 16x PCIe bus speeds.

It makes me wonder how things like dynex are real with all the GPUs are on 1x speeds.

The "POuW" stuff people actually pay for like on vast.ai are very expensive.
The administration of rental services recommends setting the stock settings for the video card and specifying the characteristics of the equipment. Not all tasks require 8x to 16x PCIe bus speeds. If you bought an expensive motherboard for this, then it will be a plus for renting out, but so far it is not profitable. In most cases, mining farms mine cryptocurrencies and are not rented for useful computing.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Chia Coin Mining become unprofitable - the coin has fallen in price by 3 times on: August 11, 2023, 03:20:51 PM
all hardrive mining fall faster than any other mining, cus many people already ton of hardrive, specially filehosting provider thats lot of empty space.
most people now dont use anymore filehosting, they can easly deploy hdd mining instead
Unfortunately, even a large Internet provider will not be able to quickly start mining on hard drives, because plotting is very expensive on rented equipment, and it takes a very long time to do it on their own equipment.
But if you have 1-2 hard drives, then you will not be interested in mining because of the small profit.
1033  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Do the Pools buy Hashrate / share with individuals? on: August 10, 2023, 02:11:01 PM
Thanks for the healthy discussion guys. So in my understanding and from the conversation above

Summary:
- Miners are never outdated
- Miners can be resold
- Miners can be scrapped
- You can not go for actual pool sharing concept since it's not really profitable
- You can still profit from the old miners if you have got free electricity at hands.
- There are no pools who has this concept due to the reasons mentioned above.
Like any device, there will come a time when you stop using it, either because the device needs frequent repair, or the return from its operation is less than the operating cost (maintenance, electricity, cooling, the price of bitcoin)
If this happens, you can operate the device for experimentation and enjoyment, but you will definitely not continue to operate it because it is a failed project.

People join mining pools because they can't afford to create a mining farm that produces a good hashrate to solo mine Bitcoint, so they prefer the possible profit rather than the near impossible profit.
If the electricity is free, then the miner will most likely use a more profitable ASIC. You can use the old asic for solo mining, but it’s better to buy a new asic, and buy lottery tickets for the profit from mining Smiley Old asics will be effective if the price of bitcoin grows 5 times and the hash rate does not increase much.
1034  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Immersion packages on: August 10, 2023, 02:02:10 PM
I'm considering a small new setup, however the location is noise sensitive, therefore I am considering the use of immersion. Can anybody recommend any off-the-shelf packages and or reputable suppliers?
And how many ASICs do you want to buy for mining?
If this is a small number of asics, then consider the possibility of installing noise boxes. If you cool the liquid with a radiator, then you will also have additional noise. With noiseboxes, you will start mining faster.
Tests in this post
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5460374.msg62648349#msg62648349

It will be 21 miners. I was considering using a dcx immersion system. Noiseboxes, with all due respect, I think are more for hobbiest / bedroom miners.
Emmersion cooling system is convenient to use where you can use the heat from ASICs. For a few ASICs, I would use noiseboxes. An immersion cooling system requires more control and attention, and off-the-shelf options are very expensive. If you do this system yourself, then there are other risks with overheating or shutdown or leaks in the system.
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are your thoughts on Proof of Useful Work (PoUW)? on: August 10, 2023, 01:52:57 PM
I saw this opportunity in CLORE coin mining, but additional income is provided by holding CLORE coins in your wallet. But this is not staking. The project pays additional rewards to miners if the miner does not sell their coins. Another way to make money comes from renting out equipment, but there are more self-renting scams now, because the reward is more profitable than the service commission.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profitable PoW coin now? on: August 10, 2023, 01:43:56 PM

But if these are very old video cards, such as RX 480, then mining on them is unprofitable.

Yeah true. If you have newer cards your revenue is the same like 2019 with RX4x0/5x0. At this time the reward per card was around $0,20 before power.
but at the moment you can mine Dynex with the good old RX4x0/5x0 cards, give an return of up to $0,30 the last days, but decrease at the moment.
Sometimes it pops something up and i turn on the last 2 RX Rigs Cheesy
The real profit of the Dynex coin is 20-25% lower than in calculators. Therefore, you will not like real profit on old video cards

My mining experience shows that mining era is slowly dying. Since ETH mining ended, all the equipment dropped in price and now it's just rotting. However, you can become a validator and try to earn there
I agree that there is no big profitability in GPU mining and now it is more profitable than ASICs, but this GPU mining market is profitable if you buy cheap video cards from miners and have inexpensive electricity.
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Yes, I received the ICERIVER KAS KS3 that I purchased at the end of July today on: August 10, 2023, 01:38:44 PM
I had been worrying all along if it would take until September or even longer to arrive. Every day, I was filled with concerns, but good luck always favors us. Now, I can start doing things that bring happiness. It seems like just a month ago I was going crazy with anticipation, but receiving the equipment this quickly has surprised me. Wish me luck! I will share what happens next here.

You bought an KS3 for 50000? Sorry but you will loose a loooooot of money. I expect over 100PH in the Kaspa network until the end of this year.
Profit in the next 30 days will be the most important for the payback of this ASIC. If the Esik brings about $30,000 in profit in the first month, then this is a good indicator.
No, I spent $44,000, and I don't believe there will be any losses. It's even potentially profitable. Moreover, my 10 KS0 machines were delivered today, and the supplier is currently helping me with the shipment to my location.
You shouldn't get too carried away with this. This highly profitable mining will end soon, because ASIC manufacturers are likely to buy back miners' coins in order to maintain the price of the coin. When they stop doing this, the profit of miners will fall rapidly.
1038  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who are the Reputable Mining Hosting Companies? on: August 09, 2023, 01:18:35 PM
bleak. haha. I called the guy at at Musk Mining. He seemed pretty legit, but if you crunch the numbers the pay back periods aren't that great even when you freeze at todays price and difficulty.
I would mine coins only on my equipment and on my territory. If you don’t have such an opportunity now, then buy bitcoin. Any mining hosting ways work in their own interests and find a way to outsmart you with a contract to purchase and maintain your ASIC.
1039  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Do the Pools buy Hashrate / share with individuals? on: August 09, 2023, 01:09:25 PM
****This is Not about online mining, cloud mining or stuff that spam us*****

The question is about the concept of sharing our mining power to the pools using old miners. For example, over the period of time technology is getting outdated and new Bitcoin miners are continuously released on the market. This leaves us middle of no where thus making it hard to keep up the mining. All we do is heat up the miners, waste the electricity and get paid some bucks that never achieves the break even against the electricity cost and increasing difficulty.

The problems:
- Outdated miners can't be sold anymore
- They are burden to the mining farm
- No profits
- Waste of electricity

Pool Sharing:

The only way to earn from them could be sharing them with the pool. For example, pool should have different section or protocol where they will use the hashing power from such outdated miners that connected to them and use that power altogether. In return hoping that we will receive fixed returns for sharing that hash power.

Is there any system like this that pools are already following.

This is about the outdated miners and their pool sharing.
I'll take an example with the old Antminer S9 asics, which cost $25-35 each. Delivery to another country may cost more than the price of the equipment, and no one will guarantee the uninterrupted operation of the device. Asic can break down and its repair can be more expensive than its cost, that is, the recipient needs to take another disposal tax from you Smiley These asics can only be used at power plants to burn excess electricity.
