61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone explain the trend of bitcoin casinos creating altcoins ? on: July 26, 2017, 10:38:35 PM

Because ICO is the most easiest way to get money and investor in a fast way. I'm sure the success of betking ICO makes other gambling site want to try what betking do. Can you imagine Betking can easily raise the ico to $1m and keep raising till now, no doubt other gambling site will follow betking.

Technically all sites are following them. betking, Bitdice, bitcoinrush etc are all holding ICOs.

How easy will it be to cash out of these sites ? Will i have to rely on the market to buy my tokens if I wish to cash out ?
62  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet.com - bitcoin sportsbook and casino | BEST NFL and EPL odds anywhere! on: July 26, 2017, 10:24:00 PM
Is cloudbet still the best on sportBetting ? i read a lot scam report or support problem  Undecided , it's still trustworthy ?

In my experience, it is pretty good at being a sports book. But sucks at other things like deposits/withdrawals if you run into an issue. Typically people have been complaining to have a hard time getting to support. Their withdrawals used to be automatic, but are now manual which sucks.

does it works worldwide? reply only if you checked it

i think it works in multiple countries from previous comments in this thread.

Bandibuen, I have sent you money for 2 more rides to the address you have listed in this thread . Wasn't sure how much you read messages so though would post here.
64  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: July 26, 2017, 05:06:44 PM
Is there any other bitcoin betting site like DirectBet or SecondsTrade? There is something nice about seeing your winnings in your wallet right away.

There can't be one with on chain betting. Reason being the extremely high transaction fees. If DB was still operational, they would have been spending 2-3$ for every transaction. Would be an unwise move to gamble there with anything less than 100$.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PSA: Pokerstars accepts Bitcoin! on: July 26, 2017, 04:50:51 PM
Yeah, I feel the same thing. Depositing through neteller takes away the point, because you would still be stuck with money on pokerstars as you will not be able to withdraw it from there after.

If you are looking to get yourself verified on Neteller, then might as well use a credit card itself.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 26, 2017, 01:43:20 PM

Bitcoin performs well in gambling, it always been, maybe I'm already used to it and haven't tried to do bets on other alts. But no matter what coins or alts it is when we bet we usually convert it to our own fiat or calculate it in our mind. Any can be used as long as were comfortable on it and we see more potential on it to win.

The reason bitcoin performs well at the moment is its ease of use and the anonymity factor since people don't like to gamble with real money and then have an eye on the profits from the government.
Anonymity I would say is the biggest reason. But it isn't going to be that way forever.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone explain the trend of bitcoin casinos creating altcoins ? on: July 26, 2017, 12:18:08 PM
Till date all the casinos which have wanted to raise money or have an invest feature used to do it by launching a casino accepting investments in bitcoins and charging a commission on bets.

But now I see casinos like  creating an altcoin, accepting investments and issuing tokens to be traded on an exchange and keeping all the money raised upfront in the ICO.

Isn't that scammy ? Why can't they just accept bitcoins as regular investments ?

Because they need money to hire developers, for promotion etc.. i think ico is a good idea to do that. even bitdice is going for ico, because they need more money for development and promotion.

They can still run all those promotions and hire staff with the commision money easily. From what I remember casinos like these make close to 100 bitcoins in just a matter of months. That should alone be enough to sustain all the expenses.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 26, 2017, 12:15:22 PM
Nope, I am not agree with you, why you think that bitcoin has no worth for gambling? If you are gambler than you should feel that bitcoin has worth for online gambling. Actually, in my view, bitcoin give us new and popular plate-forum of online gambling. Before bitcoin, i didn't think that online gambling have any future, But now bitcoin change the whole world of online gambling.

I am not saying bitcoin is not worth for gambling. I am just saying its not good for certain kinds of gambling like sportsbetting and poker where a bankroll management is an important part of the game. If you can't control your net worth due to the volatility, you are likely going to go down.

Wow that seemed to be an easy sail through for Milwaukee Brewers vs Washington Nationals. They won by a starting 8 point lead. Wish I was around to follow this but really good job ajax.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 25, 2017, 02:14:20 AM
It is still worth to use bitcoins because the value has increased and satoshi's will still be on the same track. Before you are thinking that 0.005 BTC is still a cheap amount of bitcoin but right now the price is high and you may think it's gold and you can now reduce it to lower amount. But if you don't want to do this, you can just simply use alt coins.

I can see no point in using other altcoins. As you said yourself we can reduce our bets to lower amounts in BTC. Using other altcoins may arise confusion since we are used to BTC, I rather wouldn't do that.

In my opinions altcoins are even force. They face an even great amount of volatility and are only good to prevent spending that money on the fees.

And based on the trend, whenever bitcoins fall, so do altcoins. So you essentially end up with great swings.

Still catching a lot of cheating going on and the 9 ring tables for .02/.04 seem to be a cesspool lately.
Chased about 6 accounts around trying to swap hands and I still find it hard to believe that Nitro can not get this figured out!

You want me to put you guys on blast again or you going actually do something?

I think you should just post the list of players to get them banned instead of mentioning how many players you caught. Probably less of a priority for nitrogen mainly because their main earnings are through  their sport book  and not much from other games.

I think you should just read.

Sadsong and I have already compiled the hand history of many, many users. Here's the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1917896.msg19022379#msg19022379
I've already asked NS multiple times why known colluders (from May) have not yet been banned. It has still not been answered and was just tossed under the rug.

You realize you said the same thing about Sadsong's thread, to which there were two players identified in it that are still playing to this day?

I am asking quite simply why those two have not yet been banned. The evidence is straightforward and obvious. They were colluding and folded to one another repeatedly, playing a hand fully every once in a while as to not arouse suspicion.
The players in question are samony and flaxuz. They were identified back in May and it is July now.

Thanks for the reply. In that case, I think its best if people stop playing poker on the site. Not acting on it, could only mean they don't take poker seriously and will only act on it if people stop playing or boycotting their poker platform.

Just bought 2 rides for myself and it worked just fine. To those who had the problem of it being lowered, how many rides did you guys buy before that happened ?

Also are all of you who had that problem, based in the US ?
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 23, 2017, 01:40:05 PM
Sorry to see that more than half the posts on this thread are just spam.

Well you are going to gamble right? Why not gamble with the bankroll too? If the price goes up it will be a big win for you, And if the price goes down atleast you will have the same amount of btcs. You need to cash out at the right time, You need to gamble smart, If you are in gambling just for fun, these issues won't matter to you imo. That's my take on this issue.

Gamble yeah, but with control. Poker is a combination of both skill and luck.

But bitcoin price swinging up and down isn't a gamble a poker player or sportsbettor would like to take, because it throws off any bankroll management.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 22, 2017, 11:45:12 PM

Why would you convert to fiat? It really doesn't matter what the price is, it's all in your head. If you gambled 2 years ago with a fraction of a coin and ended up with 3 BTC it means you're good at this and the price shouldn't be a deterrent for you. Yes the price has dropped for a week or two but now it's back up, the holders and those who don't give a shit about bitcoin's value in USD win.
I am sure you wouldn't have said this, if the price instead of going up to 2800 had gone down to lower 1000s. Anyways I needed the money and I wasn't willing to take the risk with bitcoins rollercoaster. But that is exactly my point. You do have to take in another gamble with btc prices.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone explain the trend of bitcoin casinos creating altcoins ? on: July 22, 2017, 11:43:38 PM

Yes these are examples I am talking about. Yeah plans and all look good but why not just accept investments the usual way ?
Like you I also thought about why not the usual way, and I will try to explain my opinion.
Before you invested in site and that is all, there is a tracker how much you invested your percents in profit and loss of the casino and that is probably all about it. But on other side with altcoin, which is actually investment in casino bankroll, you can trade on exchanges yes? As I understand their tokens will be traded as stocks and that can make this alt even more valuable.
I`m not sure am I close to something, or this is just some stupidity.

That actually brings up one more question. Can I divest ? Because the only way I see divesting can happen is if someone happens to buy my share of investment by buying into my tokens. And if no one buys at that price, would I be stuck holding onto the tokens or be at a loss ?

And as for your main point, how does exchange my investment on an exchange bring any extra value ?
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 22, 2017, 07:34:25 PM
I feel my bankroll management and savings all are highly unstable. Can go up or down by storing money in bitcoin to gamble. Some form of betting like poker requires good bankroll management and with value changing everyday, I don't see bitcoin as a good use for poker players and sportsbettors.
Why not?
For example your bankroll is 100$ so with good bankroll management you will be able to play 2$ buy in tournaments.
100$ is something around 0.035BTC so you will play 0.0007BTC buy in tournaments.
If bitcoin price raise to $10K, your bitcoin bankroll will still remain 0.035 and you will still play 0.0007BTC tournaments, only thing which is different is that your balance will be higher in value, so in this scenario you could withraw 1/3 your money and you could still play 2$ buy in tournaments, which will now be 0.00025BTC.
If bitcoin goes down with value, well, you can play 0.0007BTC tournaments but their value will be smaller, but your bankroll in bitcoins will remain the same.
But isn't all that the risk of bitcoin itself?

Well that is if you play a tournament and this only accounts for the buy in. But if you are playing just cash games or win a tournament. Then unless I cashout that btc into fiat immediately, that value could appreciate or depreciate based on Bitcoins price.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth using bitcoins anymore for gambling ? on: July 22, 2017, 02:38:14 PM
If you really are into gambling I don't think you would really care if bitcoin is worth using for gambling. Because as long as you can profit from gambling then it's still good to go. That just my own interpretation of being a gambler myself before.

So recently I had close to 3 btc on my bankroll after gambling for about an year. The value one month back was close to $7500. When the price dropped to 1800$ recently, the effective value came down to around $5400. I liquidated some of the amount. But that 2.1K drop was a lot for me to handle.

You might say that I can cashout after every bet. But then I will be giving up a big value in fees, and a lot of times I need to make a bet of a few hundred dollars.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 91 activation is scheduled to take place in: 350 Blocks on: July 22, 2017, 02:05:56 PM
Can someone explain how does the introduction of this BIP activation bring changes to the confirmations required by websites ?

I noticed nitrogen made an announcement that now they will require 6 confirmations due to the BIP activation.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you value Bitcoin ? on: July 22, 2017, 02:04:09 PM
I value bitcoin purely based on the market hype and the supply and demand. Over the years, I feel it has been obvious that bitcoins have no real value. And the only value they have is from the hype in the news and all which determine its price.
