721  Other / Meta / Re: Staff member dserrano5 promoting scam - should he remain with default trust? on: June 18, 2015, 08:09:47 PM
I haven't read through the entire discussion but I think that he shouldn't be advertising it for one main reason. All people who are new to investing and cloudmining may see that a staff member here has its avatar or signature . Most of the times they would likely not doubt it and without doing any research might just invest in it. This also happened in the past with a dice site where people invested because some trusted member had its signature. But ultimately the site went down and had scammed.

I don't think the solution is to remove him from the trust list or the staff position. But have theymos request him to remove the advertising as it may lead to people losing money on a clear scam.
722  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible solution for paypal trading ? on: June 18, 2015, 07:56:20 PM
If paypal has rules forbidding currency trading how would the other user appeal to them to get a refund? What is he going to tell them? And how come they dont make any kind of investigation about it?
If a person does currency trading on paypal, then they usually don't ban the account right away but leave them with a warning aand point them towards the TOC. They don't however entertain requests for chargebacks by users involved in currency trading and they will usually just declare them to have lost the case since they were involved in it, and they do this without doing any investigation.

So basically its always the person who sends bitcoin for paypal, who will lose the case most of the times as the case will be won by the person who sent funds using paypal.

How long for my bet to be settle?
I see and read on your contact page/support page it said automatic and it maximum 1 hour after the event end..

The problem is i have 2 small amount betting that not yet to confirm. The eveny already over more than 2.5 hours..

What sould i do??
I know its only very small amount..
Can u check personally? I already pm you for my bet link...

Usually bets get settled soon after the games are over. Your bets not being confirmed on the blockchain(I suppose thats what you meant by confirm) would be causing the delay as they issue payouts only after 1 confirmation on the blockchain(which can be due to no fees) .
724  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: June 18, 2015, 07:45:50 PM
That is a stupid explanation. What do you mean by a free user ? One of my friends who had this resolved was refunded which points to the fact about the error being on their part. Their FAQ also says that fees is charged based on the bitcoin network and the fees has been 0.0001 in cases I have been charged 0.0011.

1. I did not say they wont solve your problem. I said they dont care about you. That means your problem is not a priority for them as they are already established. Check https://localbitcoins.com/fees. They have more interest in 'Custom Work'.

Quote
Custom work, such as research of possible external problems: 200 eur/hour, paid with Bitcoin by the current rate. Minimum billable amount 100 eur.

Custom work is something they generally do along side and I doubt if it in anyways affects(which it shouldn't) their normal localbitcoin business . I was actually a trader there but this has become really disappointing. I haven't got any replies in the past 4 days from the support. I had also sent them another message yesterday .

vouch card?
look!  up in the sky!  it's a bird!  it's a plane!  NO! it's vouchman!

i gotta buy me one of them there superhero accounts so i too can be a vouchman and we can have a vouch wars.  Cheesy
There is nothing wrong with Senior + or trusted members asking for vouch copies as that establishes trust. Its sort of a job of a wine taster who does it to establish the quality of the wine and sort of vouch for it.

Thanks guys
I had luckily bet on Under 2.5 and wasn't sure if ET is counted in that bet . But seems it wasn't and therefore looks I won that bet. Serbia isn't playing their best games these past few days.

What was the result of the Serbia match ? It was 1-1 by 90 minutes. And 2-1 by end of Extra time.
So does that mean a bet on Serbia would be a win or loss ?
Also for a bet on Under 2.5, so would that only be counted till 90 minutes or till the end of extra time ?
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling fix your life? or wreck your life? on: June 16, 2015, 09:28:18 PM
Considering gambling only to be something like dice and Roulette, it has actually been both partly.
In the long run I did end up losing amounts upwards of 2K USD , but after losing so much the best realisation I had is not to gamble as its -EV. So no matter how I bet, I will be losing at the end. I have almost completely given up gambling now.
It also got me other life skills, like coding/strategy and bankroll management which I am sure will be very useful in the future.
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are 'very excited' said Bitpay on: June 16, 2015, 08:56:56 PM
I think this is rather bad for bitcoins. Blockchain is one of the most crucial technology of bitcoin. If banks employ the blockchain tech for their own transfers, they will probably not end up using bitcoin but will rather make a digital blockchain without the need for bitcoin which could be supported by something else just like account transfers. And once they bring this technology to the mainstream public business as well , they will just use something like mobile wallets to transfer money and the only advantage of bitcoin then would be the almost 0 fees and anonymity.
730  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible solution for paypal trading ? on: June 16, 2015, 08:48:59 PM
There should be like an option to transfer money without the option of a chargeback, that would be the easiest solution but doesnt seem like paypal cares too much about this.

If your account gets on negative you have to pay the amount back? What happens if you dont, any legal actions can be taken by paypal?
There is something known as Mass payments by Paypal which is sort of not reversible.
The only reason these payment processors have to let the transactions be reversible is the credit card chargebacks they face as well by the users. If you consider the friends and family option, it is said to be the option without the chargeback, but it isn't only because when someone blocks payment to them, they have to do that to the receiver as well.

Good luck with the Serbia vs Mali game. Last time it didn't go so well. Lets hope they can win this time. I am betting under 2.5 for this game as I feel its going to likely happen.
732  Economy / Gambling / Re: PocketRocketsCasino.eu - win 230 Bitcoin in one dice roll! on: June 16, 2015, 08:08:04 AM
I wonder if its good or bad to be diluted after a big investor comes into the bankroll.
Its actually good if you have more investments on the site as that allows for a bigger max bet , which could attract more high rollers therefore could mean bigger swings in the total profits or losses on the site.
Yes but I haven't ever seen someone make a bet big enough with payout of more than 200 BTC. There is a possibility it might happen in the future . But for players like greystroke who bet a large amount for a smaller payout I think it is better to have a smaller bankroll.
733  Economy / Gambling / Re: PocketRocketsCasino.eu - win 230 Bitcoin in one dice roll! on: June 16, 2015, 07:25:52 AM
Seems its the same greystroke who won a lot then lost a lot these past days. Also seems the investment has gone up the past day and the max payout is now 270 BTC. I wonder if its good or bad to be diluted after a big investor comes into the bankroll.

Still waiting to get the high fees resolved. I had a friend who was charged similar amounts for the fees but today he received a refund for the high fees that was charged.

Also been charged a high fees around 0.0004 multiple times when the blockchain was only 0.0001.

They are already established and hence dont care much about supporting free users.

A great morning to wake upto for the investments. Was down after he won that 100 BTC yesterday, and today was excited to see some crazy action for us investors. I couldn't see any of his bets in the bet history tab. Did he come back after that loss ?

And the big action continues....

3 bets. Profit: BTC176.5. EZ game.
(total 186 coins up if we assume this is grey/mechs.... well seems obvious heh? Tongue)

Looks like I jinxed myself too soon. I was about to withdraw the profits today and then this happened.

It was a bit low but, why is the faucet removed. Just noticed it now. Lol once I made it to 100k with those 200sats by placing random bets.

I haven't tried the faucets before, but it does seems it has been removed. I can't imagine how faucets were a burden for Dean since the commision is now up to 0.25% . It could also be due to some other reason.

737  Economy / Services / Re: Need YouTube video downloaded, blocked in USA - $0.50 USD on: June 15, 2015, 01:04:03 AM
You can try something along the lines of a youtube downloader or Clipconverter which can download the link directly. I just tried Keepvid, It seems it can't be downloaded with Keepvid, due to the location restriction.
738  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible solution for paypal trading ? on: June 14, 2015, 09:48:55 PM
So right now selling bitcoins for paypal is dangerous for the seller because the buyer cand ask for a refund but what if.. You use escrow and you send the btc to the escrow, now the buyer has to send you the money to paypal and the escrow wont give him the btc until you have the money on paypal and you withdraw it to your bank account, now escrow gives buyer the btc and thats it. You have your money, he has his btc

Paypal will mark your account and you will not be able to use it further until you clear that amount. The only workaround I have used is buying something else like an Amazon Gift care that accepts paypal. I believe that way the other user cannot reverse it, and most of the times I use it instantly so I don't have to worry about any charge backs.

Site error 502 from cloudflare. If my first view of the site is an error and the site is down, this makes me rethink trusting. However I am always good for a good investment, I will wait till it comes back up before investigating it.

That is generally never a good reason to rethink your trust as it happens with almost all the sites.
I have been observing the site for the past 2 days. They have definitely added improvements, but I would still wait for seeing some big changes before considering investing.
740  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: June 14, 2015, 04:12:15 PM
@Localbitcoins any reason why you are charging us random fees on the withdrawals on the website ? I have been charged much more than the normal transaction fees couple of times in the last couple of days.
What do you mean by random fees ? Their site says

Transfer fee is usually 0.0001-0.0004 BTC per outgoing transfer, but sometimes it can be a more or less because of the non-deterministic nature of generated bitcoin transactions.
So it can be anything in that range same as the one which can be seen in the blockchain transaction.
Yes I am aware of that, but in the past 2 days I have been charged 0.0011 as withdrawal fees. Also after I checked the transaction ID, it shows 0.0001 as the txn fees. I don't see why they would charge me 11 times that. They also charged 0.0003-0.0004 sometimes, even when the tx in fees on blockchain was just 0.0001 BTC. This could potentially be a bug or could be something done on purpose.
