1301  Economy / Collectibles / Re: The Bitcoin Premium on: February 06, 2021, 01:54:22 PM
Others can say whatever they want....I never heard of this and never seen a Casascius coin auction selling with an extra premium just because they were dusted with anything or from anyone.

I couldn't care less if Satoshi himself dusted it.

Our bitcoin physicals are unique in the collectable world. Not only do some people want the physical purity, but also the digital bitcoin loading purity, with the correct year and amount.  Count me in for both.

Right, but you seem to miss the point - Everyone is different, and perceives value differently. Smiley

Personally, I'm a bit OCD and are more like you, but it's not like you can stop anybody from dusting or overfunding any address, so why bother fretting over it?

I just thought I'd post that link to the poll since it's been discussed before. Cheers! Smiley

1302  Economy / Collectibles / Re: The Bitcoin Premium on: February 06, 2021, 02:40:19 AM
when the private key is spent, use a wallet that has coin control to select the desired inputs, ignoring dust.
dust is not an issue that people make it out to be

Exactly.

IMO....A coin must be loaded with exactly the face value...and also match the year issued...
example... Casascius 1 btc 2011 error should be loaded with exactly 1 btc in 2011...and not in 2012 or any other year for that matter

What about the 1Sochi and 1Enjoy dust on a bunch of Cas coins? I've heard others say they are more valuable with that dusting, as it's from the USSR World Olympics.

Here's a look back at our old legendary pal Zepher's poll on this very subject. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1546441.0

He's been gone over 2 years now; RIP, yet still a f*ckin legend!  Smiley
1303  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 06, 2021, 02:33:16 AM
It is this kind of argument that makes the argument in favor of saying figmentofmyass was wrong to lose credibility.

figmentofmyass lied about his alts when he enrolled his alts in the CM campaign, and that is wrong. He did not steal money from anyone, and he certainly did not commit violence against anyone. He provided a service, and received payment for said service.

Instead of making extremist viewpoints, anyone who is upset about figmentofmyass should be honest about what he did, and the extent as to how much damage he caused.

LOL - This is pretty ironic coming from someone who is using an alt in another sig campaign, but whatever...

This guy made over a quarter million USD in BTC. Did anybody trace when it got spent, or is it just sitting etc? Like someone mentioned earlier, I just assumed people were all over that spreadsheet checking shit. Roll Eyes
1304  Economy / Reputation / Re: VOS IS RUNNING A PONZI SCHEME on: February 05, 2021, 03:23:12 AM
I'm not a big fan of the new vod. However is there verifiable proof that person is vod?
I mean the one described eyeballing some young girl and scaring other workers?

Is this actually vod or someone else?

I mean I dont appreciate him supporting scammers and trust abusing people or having the memory of a gold fish but those sorts of false claims can put people in danger and if they aren't true then that's not right.

Is that a verified and validated claim?

Sure he may start a ponzi although he could easily be on a highly paid sig so he doesnt seem particularly greedy.

So yeah he's a scum bag loser who is pals with scammers, but not in my experience a greedy type and the perv stuff seems pretty easy to fake or defame someone with.

Another one that shouldn't be on DT whilst it allows double standard actually encourages them and forces collusion.

I see the OG-lovers/lemmings are still in full force. Fuck you and your worthless nasty-seats. They stink of scam. Sorry you are a sore loser like trump. Deal with it buddy, you are a stain on this forum, your trust proves so. Wink
1305  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Advice on Premium for Big Casascius Coin on: February 05, 2021, 03:19:17 AM
That pushes the price up in my opinion, especially if yellow ANACS slab. Collectors will pay a lot more for 69/70 than 67/68 in my limited experience, but as others have said, the market is pretty dead at the moment. Personally, unless you really need the cash, I would wait another 5 years, once BTC is a more established part of the financial system there will be a lot of people that will want stuff like this for bragging rights.

Indeed. However, that same coin in the "oh so cool (??) yellow ass slab", that was probably graded way back (pre-2014) at ANACS (when they used to under grade most cas coins), could very well be an ms70 via ICG.

I have a silver .5 that was an older yellow ANACS ms67 and I knew it was better than that, so I just cracked the slab and sent to ICG. .... Now MS68. Grin

And yes, I agree, unless you really need the cash or btc, I would hodl it as well. Wink
1306  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Advice on Premium for Big Casascius Coin on: February 04, 2021, 03:42:17 AM
so true, once the coin has a premium of 10+ btc.I am sure once heritage auctions begin to auction casascius, premiums will return.

Right, but currently, there appears to be like zero interest from the numismatic community. How long will that take? I don't regret buying any cas coins personally, but I can see why some might at this point, it's been quite evident over the past few months since at least one Cas went at auction for under peel value, which is quite sad.

I may even peel my own someday, who knows, but the beauty and just pure awesomeness of them still outweigh the peel value, as long as you don't really "need" the money, IMO. Smiley

1307  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 04, 2021, 03:29:10 AM
Remember Quickseller accused Hhampuz of scamming, but then changed his username to PrimeNumber7 and completely fooled the campaign manager into thinking he was a different person?   Today it seems everyone is so desperate they throw all their ethics away.  :/

You really are not kidding. The amount of people I've seen toss their morals to the wind for $$ makes me sorta ill lately. Tongue
1308  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 04, 2021, 02:31:53 AM
This is quite disgraceful I applied a few times with never a reply, not that I need the money, but hey, who can't resist btc right? Tongue

Sure, my posts may not be 100% awesome or anything, but I do tend to be quite trusted on the forum (by sane people anyhow?)... .... If that even matters anymore ... But I digress... I'm now put off by all sig campaigns if the people running it can't figure out who's blatantly cheating, ffs... Roll Eyes

So, to those that say your "trust" position matters in getting into a sig campaign, I have proven you wrong, and I have no problems with that whatsoever! Cheesy

Let the bulls run, boyz & galz! Tongue

Edit well fucking done nutildah, you rock. Cheesy
1309  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: January 31, 2021, 05:45:03 PM
I agree 5 is a bit high for them but they work on many collectibles and the fit is perfect so I would not call it a scam. I think if they sold them for $2-$3 ea they would sell quite a bit more of them. I get a little discount and free shipping when I order so makes the price average a little bit lower for me.

Yeah I understand, when I used "skam" instead of "scam" I meant it as a bit of sarcasm, in terms of $ paid overall sorta thing if you follow me lol .... Tongue

I agree, 2-3 bucks would be a fine price point. I really can't imagine they pay very much per unit to have them made in bulk...

nice edition this one launched by ONU. they have a lot of emission, but I have never heard to much about collectors of these issues.
However it seems that after austrian postage, other crypto stamps haven't the same appeal Sad for collectors.

Any link(s) for us mere mortals? Cheesy
1310  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: January 31, 2021, 02:35:07 PM
Having bought and paid 50 dollars for 2 packs of those from ballet, I'd say fuck that shit, total skam. Yes, they work, but nowhere on earth worth 5 dollars per holder. Huh

Edit those BCW ones work just fine if you use an inner thin sleeve on the card, but again, not worth the $ unless buying in bulk, IMO.
1311  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think about the BitSeven platform? on: January 28, 2021, 02:23:23 AM
Someone I know mentioned this site was recommended in some podcast and asked me about it...

I found this.... https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.net/en/bitseven-com/

Anybody got any reviews or info, like is it avail to usa customers or do they just take your ID and deny you later like hitbit etc etc? Huh

thanks!

~snip~

We don't know each other, apart from having read your username here and there in the forum, but I hope you the best, Pharmacist. Rules are important, but it is important too to be flexible and make exceptions from time to time, when the occasion deserves it.

Don't give people ideas like that. Grin

Anyhow, quite sure a name change will not free up your prior name for usage. It stays the same for login, just the display gets changed afaik.

Will keep waiting for subject-starter of this topic to change in my watchlist, hopefully! Cheesy  Good luck! Smiley
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1inch discussion on: January 27, 2021, 12:46:38 AM
1inch token I've been holding for a long time.
I am a cryptocurrency lover so I visit the market all the time and buy and hold cryptocurrencies.

Nice one, I was early too, but not early enough to buy enough! Grin

Watching...  Cool

1316  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2011 Casasious S2 2011 Graded ANACS MS65 Mint Bitcoin on: January 26, 2021, 02:50:58 AM
Pretty sure nobody here is going to buy a brass cas 65 in a newer label for 2.5BTC ...

Maybe an MS69 or 70 but even that's a huge stretch. Good luck tho. Maybe ebay is where you want to go for this price? Tongue

With the ease of transferring between USD/EUR/GBP etc into BTC it only makes sense to think of the premium in terms of fiat.  If BTC were $1mm the premium would be so small it of course will be better to just peel.  If BTC goes back to $100 then sure multiples of the BTC value make sense.  I dont really feel bad for those who paid a large BTC premium for these coins years ago because they most likely paid small $ value for the BTC at that point.  Either way they are still ahead.  The only person who would get burned is the one who thinks paying large BTC multiples make sense now with BTC where it is at the moment.

This ^^^

Still 20k active Cas, compared to 7k redeemed Cas. As that drops, and as more high net worth individuals discover bitcoin, I expect the premium in BTC will start to climb again. Eventually it will get very high. All that being said, collectors or any type of coin value high grading exponentially more than average, so whilst a MS69 might get x2, an MS65 would only be 1.2x.

Quite possible, but unproven to date, and many get peeled all the time, still. Until more collectors with deep pockets arrive here, or they are recognized in the numismatic community more, it may be a while...

Edit - Yes, looks like it's at 10k 7k redeemed or so:

1317  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] one 2011 fully loaded casascius "error" bitcoin on: January 24, 2021, 09:59:14 PM
Thank you for the explanation but I'm actually a bit confused.  Ate you saying my 1 bitcoin is worth more than 1 btc because forks happened after? That sounds too good to be true lol.

See your address here? https://www.blockchain.com/search?search=1AEjKrYnKfgqHsHZEzt7zN5AxUhwv8iML9

See how there are 2 blockchains? You can see you have 1 Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on your coin as well. Which right now is  ~ $430 extra on top of the 1 BTC.

So, that's how I determine "peel value". I know there are a couple of other shit-fork coins on there as well, but I can't recall the names atm. Tongue
1318  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] one 2011 fully loaded casascius "error" bitcoin on: January 23, 2021, 11:07:35 PM
wait why would someone sell a collectible version of a coin worth 1 bitcoin for less than 1 bitcoin? They would essentially be paying someone to take the coin? If you peel it and redeem it digitally you get the whole thing. Is there something I'm missing?

Stupidity and/or greed maybe? Roll Eyes

Premiums have decreased with the increase in the price of BTC, & selling in a bullrun doesn't command the premium they once did. Tongue
1319  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] one 2011 fully loaded casascius "error" bitcoin on: January 22, 2021, 01:45:44 AM
Good luck, starting bid too high for me to be interested

Yeah it's just unrealistic in the current market times, unfortunately. Some coins going for under peel lately... Tongue
1320  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Question] Is your brain cold? on: January 20, 2021, 12:47:45 AM
Got mine today, but somebody in my family stole it from me... lol.

(Sorry, he insisted on being in front of one of his posters). Tongue

I can attest that it is indeed a quality hat, as I did try it out first..... & It's not warm here, that's for sure!

Thanks again Chris! Cheesy
