961  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Gold coin into US and customs on: May 12, 2022, 03:35:23 PM
I once knew someone who tried sending like 5 ounces of gold to the USA from the UK, marked as such.... Customs made the recipient physically come down and show ID to pick it up and sign a bunch of junk.... Huh  This was via FedEx.... Long story short, it was "stuck" in Memphis TN warehouse for weeks, just getting scanned nightly, causing all sorts of drama and restlessness upon both parties. It was finally received in the end, but it was a long month for both parties.... Now I'm not gonna tell anyone to lie on customs forms ofc, so I personally avoid gold shipments across international borders just for such reasons, but you get the point I think... Roll Eyes
962  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BTCitcoin Attack - A Cryptocurrency story [AUCTION] on: May 09, 2022, 12:35:35 AM
I think it was how I took the photo, but the book is intact, it has always been in a covered box, it is the first time I take it out to take photos.👍

Are you sure about that? I can see the small bend/fold on both sides/pics? Tongue

964  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: badbitcoin.org on: May 09, 2022, 12:28:00 AM
My suggestion is that maybe you could just turn the topic around and add details showing how they are scammers, including editing the title. This could help someone who is looking it up online in the future.

https://medium.com/@BTCtom/these-companies-support-known-scammer-josh-garza-and-should-be-avoided-6ba859a752f7

PSA - not my article, just from a quick google search, but I recall this badbitcoin guy being a huge scammy XPY Shill back then in the GAW thread ... I believe his name was MrCoins or something like that... Tongue

@kakamakr -

Just change the topic to "BADBITCOIN.ORG IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY" so that it gets picked up in search results or something - I removed the neutral trust I left on you - you can also just put [DELETE] in the title, or "Move" the topic to the "Archive" section to really trash it yourself.

Thanks for unlocking and seeing the truth! Tongue
965  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1 bitcoin 'Casacius' ERROR on: May 08, 2022, 11:41:46 PM

(You also need to accept BTC as a payment method I believe for this section.)
I am not interested in BTC's.  So my asking price is in Euro or Dollar.

Regardless, the forum rules here are you MUST accept BTC as payment, otherwise you must go auction it elsewhere mate. Sorry! Tongue

The new site should hopefully change that.... More news to come soon! Cheesy

Thanks

973  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius coin - 1 BTC - Version 2 (2011) - Price value to be checked on: May 01, 2022, 01:28:12 AM
Hello everyone,

I am from belgium and I'm new in the bitcoin sector.
However, I have received a few years before as a gift a casascius bitcoin.

It's a "1 BTC Brass Casascius Coin" - Version 2 created the 02-2012 (However, on the coin it's written 2011 but on "Casascius bitcoin Analyzer" they give me the date of creation as February 2012).

I would be interested to have an estimation of the price in case of sell.
I'm currently hesitating between unpeeling the coin and extracting the coin or selling it.

I know there was a debate about this but the opinions seemed very divided and I'm really hesitating due to the complexity of the sales process.

Please can you also advice on this ?

Thanks.

Can you post any good pics of the coin with your username and the current date? That is basically what really defines the value of it here, and proof of your ownership

PS - You can use imgur.com and just paste in the links - You cannot upload pictures yet since you are newbie, but others can quote them and they will appear etc...  Wink

Thanks and good luck regardless!

Edit - having  a coin funded by Mike after the date on the coin is pretty common, so no worries there either.
974  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to redeem Casascius using Electrum on: May 01, 2022, 12:14:21 AM
You can post this thread/questions in the Collectibles section and many people will answer, including the sweeping vs selling options for you based on your location etc. There are also forks on the coin such as BCH etc etc...

User @Minerjones can probably help you out as well for selling/escrow/verification, he sells these all the time. Wink

975  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2 x Satori Coins for sale - any offers ? on: April 30, 2022, 02:50:09 AM
It's been awhile since I've looked at these, do you know if they're pre-fork?

From looking at the serials, lower one is pre-fork, and the other is post-fork. Wink

977  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Sol Noctis - Large quantity on ebay, interesting opportunity? Under $40 each! on: April 28, 2022, 01:35:37 PM
“The Binary Eagle was struck by the Mint of Poland, one of the leading manufacturers of coins and collector’s items in the world. The Binary Eagle coin design incorporates complex elements and security features that make it truly unique. Each coin is embellished with a majestic eagle, a symbol of the freedom the bitcoin technology provides.

Bitcoin value was attached to the coin by applying a sticker with bitcoin wallet keys printed on it, and protected by a holographic image. A special technique of E-Beam NanogramTM was applied to create a hologram with maximum protection against counterfeit. Thanks to it, four levels of security features are embossed into the holographic foil with a resolution of 550,000 dpi. A Private Key, which is needed to redeem the face value, is located under the coin’s protective holographic layer. It is automatically printed and is not stored by the manufacturing company, which means only the owner of the Sol Noctis coin has access to it and thus can realize the face”. - https://bitcoinmagazine.com/technical/sol-noctis-coins-as-the-first-collectible-bitcoins-1416243198

I’d like to know what in the design gives it complex elements /security features that make it “truly unique”.

Great info, but yes, what's up with that, right? Tongue

So it looks like @TeeGumes is only doing a bitcoin Bull, but not (yet?) the Eagle here:

Anyone have a peeled eagle to send him for further analysis? Tongue

978  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [COLDKEY] Project status on the 16th Mar 2022 -- owlcatz, welcome on board 🥳 🚀 on: April 20, 2022, 02:15:19 PM
is there any further information here as to when all the coldkey cards will be sent to the users?
according to coldkey, the shipping should start this week now

Hello! Our apologies yet again - We had some quality control issues that were missed before the hologram/laminate process, causing us to have to reject much of the entire first run, and reprint all affected cards. Sad

Contributing to the issues - There were also other problems that occurred during the laminate process that caused other minor imperfections, also contributing to having destroy/reject more cards and remake them.... Sad

Because making the Coldkeys is a 3 part process, every step is dependent upon the prior for 100% quality in the end.

As just on example, you can see in this image, there is minor bleed on the black font that we found unacceptable for shipment on some of the cards:

As of right now, we had 3 packages get lost/never scanned by the French Post so they are being remade this week. We also had 4 other packages go out and should be delivered soon. We hope to have the rest of the packages done and mailed by Friday, but worst case will be early next week.

Lastly, none of the auctioned cards had any of these issues as they were made separately.

Apologies again, but this will all be solved soon, trust me. Wink

@cygan, I will be reaching out to you later today via PM. Wink

We thank you for your patience and understanding, and expect more frequent updates this week. Smiley

Thanks again!
