Well done! These coins are quite historic actually - Smoothie's wife HAND-WROTE every "free coin claimer's" envelope address and return address with a PEN! That's almost 1000 coins out there! How many got lost in transit? Recalling the thread.... Many! How many are being hodled? (Many, I have a few lol)!! .... I think this price was a steal either way, & love seeing you guys play it like us old-timers used to as well, it is all fun and in good sport. Personally, I think this coin has been undervalued for years... It was literally the introduction of Monero to Bitcointalk users IMO... IIRC, It also came with small slip of paper explaining how to fund it as well. Cheers!  |

Bitcointalk really needs two-factor auth at a minimum these days, and it looks appears it was a very savvy exploitation of previous PM messages to socially engineer a false transaction.
I'm not sure about that. Since the signature really does verify, it means minerjones was in possession of the XMR address in the message, and it appears the funds in question were sent to that address. We don't actually know what happened without MJ's input. Am I missing something? Where is Minerjones He cannot simply state he never received anything and wash his hands of this - I'm sorry but this is not right. @minerjones - Man up here dude! Let's face it, you've always been particularly shitty about that, so I'm going to leave you a neg soon if you don't reply.... FFS, this is a lot of money. Can you not even face a fuckin CAT ffs? Good catch, I totally forgot about that - Bitcointalk has always done that with XMR addresses at that very same position, and I'm not sure why. That's why I always used to use the [code /] tags when sending anyone XMR addresses in PM. So where is the escrow guy? Seems like someone with a rep that big would be all over this...  |

It's funny we're talking about this. I have never had a problem over the years selling on Ebay, but today I just received a note that I need to reverify my identity before they will send me the cash accrued in my account. Maybe it's a normal check up, but I just sold several coins and this thread now has me paranoid... They aren't using paypal anymore, so this is probably normal if you haven't verified your id with them before. |

Did all this change like a few days ago or something? I remember not so long ago you could even buy straight bitcoin under the "Miners" section - Stuff like: "0.001" sent straight to your wallet" etc etc ....
I have never sold any loaded items on ebay, but have sold plenty of other crypto-related stuff with no real hassles other than a package gone missing once or twice, which in these days of USPS's shit-service is not so uncommon 🤷♂️

It sounds like MJ never got the coins, but it looks to me like you sent them to the address he gave you. Did you verify all the PGP signatures he gave you in the messages? This is really fucked up to me. Also, @buckrogers - why is his name in here? [clarified by buckrogers below] Edit - More info from MJ needed here for sure... I've seen something like this happen recently as well, to such an extent that I no longer trust ANYTHING about PM's on this forum - Not saying there is someone who may have infiltrated the server, but things are definitely getting shadier around here as time goes on, so I now prefer to use Telegram - How fuckin' sad is that, right? I hope more info gets posted, that's a lot of XMR, and those are some of the sexiest coins on the planet. Thanks everyone for your input. The seller of the coin doesn't have the public addess so my I'm hoping smoothie would give me a solution to my problem. Sent him a message yesterday directly over email and PM so it should only be a matter of time before I get a response. If I have no luck, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask for a refund from the seller.  Just get a refund - Smoothie will not give you any info - He's a very staunch privacy advocate.
