283  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] PNY XLR8 GeForce 9800 GT 1 GB GDDR3 Video Card on: September 09, 2011, 03:06:14 AM
Might want to lower that price a bit.

The 9800gt is the same as the 8800gt. The 9800gt is outperformed by the ati 4850, which is slower than a 5770. And 5770's can be picked up used for what you are asking. (Toasty had new ones for 9.5 btc)

There are brand new 9800gt's for less than $65 (free shipping) on fleaBay. Granted your accepting BTC.

I had a hard time selling my gtx 260's for $50 each. Sadly enough.
Oh, ok. Thanks for the advice (and not flaming me). Wink

I try to be helpful without sounding bossy Cheesy

I can attest to how well that 5870 and board set up ran. (I was the previous owner!)

+Rep to Stef's trading, she put the money up front and bought a few things with no hassles.

Well retract my rep for now. I just saw the other posting. This is interesting to see where it leads to.

287  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] - AMD Motherboards - 5 to 7 PCIe slots on: September 06, 2011, 05:27:03 AM
Theres always the PCI to PCIe converters, I'm considering getting 3 to fully utilize my motherboard... Their a bit expensive, but its a lot cheaper than a new board, new ram, and a new CPU. Not sure about power draw, but I solder SMT chips every day, so cutting some power traces and adding a molex to a board isn't a big deal.

That's 90 dollars (last ones I saw where 30 each) just in extenders. You can get a complete second board, cpu and ram for 90 dollars.(albeit not new). Or just sell your main and get a better with more slots.

Should mention any 780i board can be picked up for around $80, a p4 socket 775 chip for $5, 4x 256 ddr2 for maybe 10 bucks.

290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone else looking forward to the winter? on: September 06, 2011, 03:07:02 AM
It's 90 degree's in my "mining room" with a/c full blast. It's not a pleasant experience :/

You are doing it wrong. It's FAR more efficient to vent the hot air than try to cool it. If you can't throw it out in a garage, or into the basement then buy a 4x8 sheet of insulation, roll of ductape, a cheap roll of screen door mesh and a box fan.

Plop the PC infront of the window, insulate around it, mesh the window off and the front of the "rectangle insulation case" and throw the box fan infront of it. Ductape the holes and call it a day.

It's far cheaper to run a box fan than the AC.
291  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Dead cards/boards/cpus/psu's, etc! Or old stuff, working or not. on: September 01, 2011, 10:30:34 AM
Putting this on hold unless:

You won't charge except for shipping and can fill a flatrate box with enough stuff to make it worthwhile.

I've had so many PM's and offers I'm more or less out of btc at the moment.

A suggestion:  I sent you my vid card.  I'd LOVE to see what got made out of it, and since my vid card was in the piece, I'd be more motivated to buy it.  I suggest you post pics of the pieces made from hardware you bought here.

I can do that. As soon as I get it and she gets it made Tongue

Could you change the font? I don't know about other people, but it drives my eyes bonkers reading it in descriptions. I actually copied it to notepad.
294  Economy / Goods / Re: My Bitcoin Mint - The Standard in Bitcoin Precious Metals on: September 01, 2011, 01:37:53 AM
Well "dummy" is a little strong in my view :-)

True they are mostly a novelty collector coin with not much precious metal value. I posted this because there was discussion over having a copper round.

The "real" value these coins have are that they can be put into "circulation" and create more interest in bitcoin and evangelize the bitcoin message to the world. Precious metal coins don't get much face time with people other than the owner.

My statement might have been a little strong, but I stand behind it.

I picked up some of the 1 gram silver rounds and shown those to people. The fact that the coin is actually worth more than a "oh cool" factor is a big thing I think. I know I have a couple friends who already want to buy some. I won't be flashing gold rounds to anyone, but the fact I can tell people, "This is pure silver and is worth something!" I would show off these new big silver rounds too. Few more days I'll be getting some..
295  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RIG 2.4GHash~2.65Ghash, my 1st rig on: August 31, 2011, 10:48:46 PM
There is no way that case will keep will keep 4x cards cool unless they are runnning in a freezer. Hell my HAF932 has issues with dual gtx 470's if it's hot out.

Got responses sent out to everybody.
297  Economy / Goods / Re: My Bitcoin Mint - The Standard in Bitcoin Precious Metals on: August 31, 2011, 04:53:49 AM
Copper is very cheap, the coins would have to be huge in order to have any value compared to the cost of making them.

If anyone is looking for copper bitcoins check out http://CoinedBits.com for gold plated 1oz copper bitcoins.

These are dummy coins though. They aren't really worth anything.
298  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] EVE isk and PLEX CHEAPEST ON FORUMS! on: August 31, 2011, 04:48:26 AM
Your account has to be active, PLEX is an item Tongue
You need GTC's if your account is not active atm.

You DO NOT need an active account. CCP has a new method where you can open your account for 4 hours to use a plex.
299  Economy / Goods / Re: My Bitcoin Mint - The Standard in Bitcoin Precious Metals on: August 31, 2011, 04:46:54 AM
For the silver rounds, I would recommend having at least an acid test video done if possible if not a fire assay done.

Re: titanium, not sure exactly how you would have quarter sized coins worth 9.6 USD

http://www.metalprices.com/pubcharts/Public/Titanium_Price_Charts.asp

Same price guide I was using. I totally screwed up my calculations. I just figured out the volume of a quarter, then used the titanium density to figure out what it would weigh. But.... apparently 7 hours of sleep in a 60 hour time span is screwing up my judgments.
300  Economy / Goods / Re: My Bitcoin Mint - The Standard in Bitcoin Precious Metals on: August 31, 2011, 04:44:38 AM
I would DEFINITLY buy some if it was black titanium, or better yet black titanium with silver:
http://www.titanium-jewelry.com/r947o.html

And if you do, please PM me, as i would be the first to send BTC your way.

The only thing is the black part of the titanium is that it's a process or coating, it's just adding a non-value expense to the product. And it dilutes the value of the object itself. It wouldn't be .999 pure anymore.
