Liverpool should have been able to maintain a 1-1 draw against Tottenham, but unfortunately Joel Matip intended to throw the ball but the ball went to the top right of the goal and went in in the final minute of extra time 90+6.
All Lovepool players fought in vain to maintain a draw with 8 players, and I think Liverpool won this match because they worked hard and tried to maintain a draw with only 8 players.

Joel Matip You have disappointed Liverpool fans because it happened in the final seconds of a hard-fought match.
So Tottenham eventually win the match, but Liverpool really try. My respect for Liverpool was that they played well even with two red cards; their performance was very good, because in all my aspectaction, Tottenham will take advantage of the two red cards that they give Liverpool and score more than what they scored, and the game could have ended in a draw if not for enough pressure that caused Liverpool to score their own goal.
I comprehend the challenge of playing with only nine players and managing to narrow the goal deficit to just one. However, avoiding red cards is also a testament to playing smartly. I trust that Klopp can instill a sense of caution in the players to reduce such incidents. These situations consistently put a team in a precarious position, making it tough to secure a victory or even salvage a draw.
It is impossible and a miracle that can change a game into a win or a draw, because last night's match was really unbalanced in terms of play, but this was Liverpool's fault for making 1 own goal error and 2 red cards, Tottenham were in good condition and had good luck in last night's match at least  Tottenham have improved their temporary performance this week.

It was a bad outing for Liverpool. I am pretty sure that if they had all the players in the field they would have actually been able to win this match, but because they did not have all the 11 players available in the field, that actually put them at a big disadvantage. But even after that they almost got away with one point from that match. But in the end, their own goal destroyed it all. I actually believe Liverpool should not think too much about it. It was just a bad outing and Liverpool should think about how they are going to play in the next match and forget about what happened in this match against Tottenham.

But on the other hand, this was definitely a great win for Tottenham. I have to say they keep getting lucky towards the end of the match.

I remember in good old days there was a bunch of notorious Bitcoin naysayers visiting this forum frequently. In particular, I can mention such accounts as Stolfi, Proudhon the llama and Roach (this nazi guy was hilarious actually). I'm sure many forum regulars remember them. There were many others as well, appearing from time to time, posting anti-bitcoin bs and FUD.

I have to admit that I rarely visit some parts of this forum, but I haven't seen any anti-Bitcoin accounts active recently. Why is that? There are no naysayers left? Lost interest in this forum? Or maybe I'm not attentive enough and they're still among us?  Grin

Things have changed a lot and it would be surprising if someone said that bitcoin will die and disappear soon these days, I believe it would be mentally unstable people, not normal people. Bitcoin is gradually being accepted in most parts of the world, many governments have accepted bitcoin as a commodity and allowed people to use it. If anyone still spreading bitcoin will die or disappear soon, it will be like they are cursing their government for being stupid and without vision. But I have to admit that even during the terrible bear season of 2022, I don't see anyone talking about the death of bitcoin anymore.

The purpose of Bitcoin is not to invest...
What makes us think that Bitcoin can't have more than one purposes? It can be used as a payment method when possible since it provides seamless and decentralized payments and it can also be used as an investment asset since it is volatile and can provide significant profits on investments.
Like it or not, up to now, bitcoin has truly become an asset, an investment rather than a currency. We need to accept that change and adapt to it. We can't just stick to the original notion that Satoshi created bitcoin just to be a peer-to-peer currency and refuse to adapt when things are changing in the other direction.

Furthermore, as you said, bitcoin can be used for many purposes, and that is what makes bitcoin superior, why don't we make the most of that to bring more benefits to ours? For me, bitcoin is an investment and can also be a currency...depending on the situation we will use it accordingly.
To become a currency bitcoin needs more adoption, and to have more adoption we need more people understanding why bitcoin is unique and can actually change lives, and in a certain way if the price keeps going up because less people are willing to sell, more people will talk about bitcoin and will also become interested in it. Being an asset it could just be part of the process at the end.

Furthermore, I still believe that for bitcoin to become a currency, it requires the approval and consent of the government, bitcoin cannot become a currency without their consent. We can use bitcoin as currency even if the government has not recognized it but for businesses and companies it is not possible if the government has not recognized it. Overall, the future is unpredictable but bitcoin's path to becoming a currency will be more difficult than its recognition as an asset.

-snip-
This is a Bitcoin journey. Let's see how old Bitcoin is today, yups still 14 years old,
and even at a young age bitcoin has made a big impact on the world and decentralized digital currencies can make significant changes.

Although the main purpose is as a currency or as a means of payment, it depends on the regulation of each government.
We can't force it, but as adoption continues, the future of Bitcoin will certainly be different and more needed than it is now.

Let's hope for more significant changes to bitcoin in the future, but for now, we need to accept and adapt that bitcoin is a valuable asset rather than a currency.

Marseille getting bought by a Saudi Arabian team should not really be a big deal, but Zidane is not going to be coaching it from what I read. It looks like we are going to end up with something that could end up with something much bigger, and that would be a general manager position.

I think he just wants to use that money to buy players and build a team, not really manage it. Coaching the team and building the team are different things, when you build the team, you could be anywhere, and you would fly all over the world to talk to the players and teams to do that, or you could just stay wherever you are and send someone else in your stead, but when you are coaching, you have to be with the team all the time.
Currently, if you see some news that occurs, the benchmark for Zidane wanting to be at Marseille is if investors from Arabia can buy Marseille so that he can consider coaching Marseille.
This is actually a clever way because after all Zidane does not want his career to decline even though he has not coached a club for a long time and with the presence of Arab investors with the abundance of wealth entering Marseille indirectly this will make it easier for Zidane to bring in some players who will be worthy and can be aligned with PSG in Ligue 1 because after all, at this time even though we often say that Marseille and PSG are rivals but in terms of players they are not comparable and with the presence of Arab investors I think this can turn things around from Marseille.

I have also heard about this. I am also pretty sure that Zidane is not going to be coaching them. Let's be honest he is not going to be interested in coaching these kind of teams. He will be interested to coach teams that has a legacy. Teams like Real Madrid, or probably other teams in the English Premier League. Probably would have given a thought about it if it was PSG.

I think they are going to take the similar kind of approach like Newcastle United. We can see how they had improved after they spent a lot of money to bring in good players. They will probably take the same approach, and after they have a quality squad, which is far better compared to what they have now, they will probably bring in a good coach.

For me the entrance of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) into the market will not be in favour of Bitcoin as the very essence of such initiative will be to weaken Bitcoin.  I know the governments will do all they can to provide something that will look like Bitcoin, something they can control because they know that digital money has come to stay. Unfortunately, they will fail at achieving a digital currency that will challenge Bitcoin.

My country launched E-Naira but it failed because people never paid them any attention as there was practically no need for it. I know many governements in the world are also working on something like that but I'm confident Bitcoin will prevail.

If CBDC can cause bitcoin price to fall or cause bitcoin to weaken, then I think fiat can also do that because CBDC is just a digital version of fiat, even worse than fiat. But so far, what we can see is that fiat currencies continue to lose value due to inflation while bitcoin in 14 years has gained millions of percent relative to fiat. That means CBDCs will also suffer the same fate as fiat currencies.

CBDC was just a desperate attempt by the government to compete with bitcoin so it is not surprising that it failed. No centralized currency will be able to compete with bitcoin unless another decentralized currency emerges.
647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: September 29, 2023, 12:07:44 PM
~snip~

In recent times, many have withdrawn their bank deposits and transferred them to Bitcoin to escape the effects of inflation. Those who want to invest not only for temporary gain but also for long term permanent wealth should know about Bitcoin and then he can invest. Bitcoin investment also has risks, but if the risks and opportunities are carefully monitored and long-term investment is made, then an investor can be successful in Bitcoin. But the point is that both Bitcoin and Banks convery the importance in different ways. So bank should not consider bitcoin as an enemy.

It is true that investing in bitcoin is risky, but it cannot be said that depositing money in a bank is risk-free. Many banks have gone bankrupt and it is very difficult for people to get their money back, not everyone can easily or will be fully compensated if the bank goes bankrupt. To me, everything has risk, including bitcoin and banks. But taking risks with bitcoin will be much more worthwhile because if we succeed, the profits will be worth the risk we take. Meanwhile, banks' risk is not only bankruptcy but also currency devaluation due to inflation.

@DanWalker. The skeptical me is starting to speculate that if the rumors of Sam being only a frontman to a moneylaundering scheme for the powerful people of the Democratic party, would it not be safer for him to be in prison to avoid assasination?

He might know much sensitive information and this might also be why he will never plead guilty because this opens his case to more divulging of information and also possibly to be under a protection program. It might be better for Sam's life to be sentenced guilty for fraud instead of admitting that he is guilty and look for a settlement.

As far as we know, his close associates all pleaded guilty one after another, so it was only a matter of time before he was sentenced soon. When FTX collapsed and SBF was arrested, there was a lot of news regarding his relationship with democratic party politicians. But since those rumors, have we heard any more news about it? Almost not, so I don't think the FTX incident has anything to do with politics anymore.

The upcoming trial he faces is a criminal trial so I think it's understandable that the judge won't grant him bail. SBF has become a dangerous entity and the case is no longer a civil project.

Updated 9/28: In updated news related to FTX and Sam Bankman-Fried, the judge continues to deny Sam Bankman-Fried's request for temporary release. This is the second time SBF's lawyers failed in their attempt to secure bail for him. Last week, they also requested his release on bail but were unsuccessful.

According to the article, it seems like SBF won a few small victories last week but perhaps prosecutors have more complete evidence so they don't want him released on bail until the criminal trial takes place next week.

I quite like what the prosecutor is doing at the moment especially the argument that the judge said was correct where when the SBF lawyer's excuse that it was difficult for him to make a defence with limited time was actually well refuted by the argument given by the prosecutor because SBF before August had a very large amount of time and it should be enough for them to prepare a defence in the trial.
There were some victories such as him being allowed to wear formal clothes instead of prisoner's clothes but I don't think it will last long because he is more suitable to wear prisoner's clothes than formal clothes with a neat suit Cheesy

In addition to being allowed to wear a suit to court, he was also allowed to use a computer in prison, but the computer did not have an internet . I don't know if that makes him happier. Cheesy Cheesy

Poor people don't need Bitcoin.

What reason do you have to assert that poor people don't need bitcoin? Bitcoin is only for rich people and only rich people need it? I am a poor person and I need bitcoins. Bitcoin is a decentralized asset and everyone who wants freedom needs it because it is the only decentralized asset and is divided equally to anyone who needs it. But the problem that poor people are facing is that they do not have money to own it, but if they constantly strive and fight to improve their lives, bitcoin will be the perfect choice for them than any other. Bitcoin is for everyone who believes and knows how to seize opportunities.

People are more inclined towards Bitcoin than Banks because once Bitcoin enters the world it will never support Banks.  It's never been possible to benefit as much as I have from using Bitcoin and from using a bank.  It is never possible to build a large portfolio by keeping money in the bank, but it is certainly possible to build large funds using Bitcoin.

There is no reason for bitcoin to support banks, when for the past 14 years banks have been talking bad, trying to keep people away from bitcoin just because they are afraid they will be destroyed because people will switch to using bitcoin and leave them.

Depositing money in the bank not only cannot help us build an asset portfolio, but also causes the value of our assets to gradually lose value. Meanwhile, using bitcoin is risky but can help you increase your asset value significantly if you have the right knowledge about bitcoin. But putting all our assets in bitcoin is also not a good idea because of its short-term volatility. We must still have enough savings in the bank to cover our daily needs and emergencies.

Valencia - Sociedad game of the night for me and I do hope for a both teams to score in 1st half because both teams like to attack in this season and honestly, both Sociedad and Valencia are producing a great football in my opinion.

Meanwhile, kinda surprised to see Villareal losing on home soil as they are really a solid team but somehow Girona managed to score 2 goals and secure 3 mega points... Undecided

35 minutes have been played so far and Real Sociedad just scored a goal on the 32nd minute of the match. This was the first shot from them. Not even the first shot on target, this was literally the first shot of the match from them. And they were able to score a goal. Talk about accuracy, absolutely 100%.

Anyway, they have had the majority of the possession. Good to see that they were able to do something with it. Now let's see if Valencia can actually make a comeback in this match or not. I think it is definitely going to be a little hard for them.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 27, 2023, 05:03:12 PM
The chance owned by acmilan to keep closer with intermilan is winning this game. Inter Milan is a strong club in Serie A, but AC Milan could still compete for the Scudetto if they don't lose more points.
I m still feeling so confidence in pick acmilan although the next game is gonna happen away for acmilan. I meant the quality of players will be the different between both of clubs.
I have no confidence with napoli to compete with duo milan for the title race this season. It's likely that if everything will be even harder for napoli to defend its title, this season as its performance declined a lot.
Acmilan's fans are ready to blame pioli if he can't make the club to beat the easiest team in the league right now. Acmilan shall have showed the beauty of football like when the team was always attacking newcastle crazily.
Acmilan can score as many goals as the club can.

IMO, AC Milan cannot lose against Cagliari. If AC Milan loses points from this match, it might slowly affect Milan's performance. The 1 - 0 win against Verona was not a satisfactory result. This proves that AC Milan's attack power is still not optimal. This would be very risky if Milan met a big team. For example, on the next matchday after vs Cagliari, Milan will meet Lazio. In this match, there is a possibility that Milan will lose or draw. If Milan still wants to compete with Inter, then there is no reason for Milan to lose or draw because so far Inter Milan still no counter.

So far AC Milan has been pretty attacking in this match. They have had the bulk of the possession. They have also been the team to shoot more shots. But they have not been very accurate, to be honest. I don't think AC Milan is going to lose in this match. But to be honest, there is still a very long time to go in this match. So anything can still happen. But I think the deadlock will be broken. And if the deadlock is broken by AC Milan, I think they will end up winning the match. I really believe that it is going to be hard for Cagliari to score in this match, let alone win.
654  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN HALVING COUNTDOWN IS ON – WILL CRYPTO PRICES RISE? on: September 25, 2023, 07:42:08 AM
Well I think we are all hoping this is going to happen. For the next halving next year to reward us with big gains and profit for those who still hodl.

I do think for the past halvings this is what we had happen. And we can can then expect the price of all crypto, not just for Bitcoin to rise.

Yes, historically we will have a bull season after the halving and that is why we all look forward to the halving. But have you ever thought that history will not repeat itself and that bull season will not appear? Because when things become easy to predict, the market needs changes to make the game more difficult. If things were still easy to predict, who would spend trillions of dollars to buy our bitcoins at high prices? I will still believe in history but will not rule it out and will not be disappointed if history does not repeat itself.

Well yes it is something I think about. That history will not repeat itself. But we can not think that the 'bull season will not happen again.

I think most of us are 'bullish'. I agree how you say it is not so easy to predict but I have been hodling for a long time and I will keep doing that.

I mean that history will change, we will still have bull season, but it will not be the same as before because that pattern has become familiar, and everyone knows about it. I'm not saying bull season won't come.

This is a financial market and in any financial market there are very few winners, most are losers. So I think sooner or later everything will be disturbed and become more unpredictable, it cannot be easy forever. Everything is becoming too easy to guess, which is what I fear, history will not repeat itself and we will have a new history.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 25, 2023, 12:31:13 AM
This was definitely a bad performance from Juventus. They should have been able to win this match. The performance was not good at all from Juventus. They were not able to do anything good in attacking. They had 15 shots and only two of them were on target. That's how bad the accuracy was for Juventus in this match. They had to do better, especially when they wanted to stay at the top of the table.

I hope they will be able to improve their performance. Because if they keep performing like this, it is going to be a problem. this was the first loss for Juventus this season by the way. they had been performing pretty well so far, however in this match, probably it was just a bad day for them. They will play Lecce in the next match, I really hope that they will be able to do better than this in that match.
Actually Juventus would have won the match except for their mistakes which cost them the match. They made several mistakes from the first half to the second and couldn't make up for it before it became late, sasuolo was actually brilliant enough to make use of every of this opportunity that disguised as mistake because they know if they don't make use of the opportunity Juventus was not going to let them win.

In their next game against Lecce I'm very optimistic Juventus will not allow that which happened between them and sasuolo repeat itself as they need that win to climb up the table. It was only mistakes that cost them that game which I'm sure to a great extent Juventus will not make such mistakes again as they will improve to make sure they win.

In the end, the mistakes are what costs of the match right? If they had not made any mistake, they would have definitely been able to win the match. But at the same time, I have to say they have made some silly mistakes. Those mistakes are not expected from a team like them. And we all know that in the last season, what happened with them was not fair. So everyone is expecting them to take revenge. And of course, everyone is expecting them to perform well and compete for the title. I do believe that it is hard for them. Especially in this season. But they are also capable of doing that.

The last game Lecce played was against Genoa where they won by one goal (1-0) the did well in that match but I still don't see them matching up with Juventus except they will only try to make it not a very easy win for Juventus but they will be at disadvantage as Juventus is hosting so the will definitely have that home advantage and would not want to suffer a second loss at home.

The result of this match was actually as people predicted in my opinion. And I think the match was made easier for Lecce after Genoa got a red card.

657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: September 24, 2023, 09:14:56 AM
If we look at Bitcoin history, every 4 year, the price of Bitcoin recovers its previous ATH before rallying to break and create a new ATH.  So @OP there is a huge chance that Bitcoin will recover or even exceed $69k but not this year.  It is more likely on the year 2025  when the market become bullish.  We need to have patience in order to witness Bitcoin recovering to $69k  again.  Avoid unnecessary Bitcoin selling because you will be missing out on profit when the Bitcoin market rallies.
This, pretty much. Its bit too late to hit anything above 30-35k in Bitcoin. We are too much into bear market. Normally there would be reaction to dumps if we were going down from 60k to 40k etc But we are going down even from 30k levels to 20ks. Its best to spend this year accumulating Bitcoin at lowest prices we can ever hit. I would honestly buy a lot Bitcoin from 22-23k levels. I believe it will hit 80k at least in next bull run.

That's right, instead of expecting bitcoin to recover or increase in price again this year, we should take advantage of this year to accumulate more bitcoin because once the halving occurs, the opportunity to accumulate cheap bitcoin will no longer exist. Many people have taken the opportunity to accumulate bitcoin at the price of 20k$ or 23k$, but for those who have not bought too much bitcoin, the current price is not too bad to collect. Don't wait for the price to decrease further to buy because there is no certainty that BTC will decrease in price further.

I believe $100k is an easy target that BTC can reach in the next bull season, $80k is a bit low for me.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 24, 2023, 08:02:16 AM

What a sudden change in the Sassuolo vs Juventus game outcome, Even though Juventus had the majority of the possession, Sassuolo effective offensive plan ended up being the difference maker. Federico Gatti own goal in stoppage time was truly shocking. I Think Juventus appears to need to improve their focus and organization, especially in light of Szczesny's last-second error. They are no longer as competitive in their pursuit of Inter Milan, who have a perfect record and appear unstoppable. The competition for Serie A just got more interesting
This is a very disappointing result for Juventus, they played well but whether Sassuolo's defense was good or Juventus' forward players played badly in this match, it is clear that Juventus' game was not well organized so they were not able to create many chances.
Juventus should have won this match because if we look at the quality of the two teams, Juventus is certainly better, but this result was truly unexpected and with this result, more and more people doubt that Juventus will be able to compete fiercely in the race for the Scudetto this season.
of course, there were many people who were disappointed with this match, expecting Juventus to win on their bets which ended up losing. yesterday I saw the instability in Juventus performance. I did not add this team to my betting slip because I know that even though Sassuolo is not a strong team, when they appear at home their defense becomes stronger and difficult to break down, so its natural that Juventus loses this match.

If we all watch the match as it progresses we can certainly see how several opportunities were wasted. I mean, several times Juventus attacking players got the opportunity but failed to take advantage of the opportunity without being on target so they lost because they were too hasty to shoot the ball towards Sassuolo.

This was definitely a bad performance from Juventus. They should have been able to win this match. The performance was not good at all from Juventus. ~~~

Man Utd barely scored in the last minutes in the first half and now they got an amazing result for the second half just hopefully they take advantage of it. I got Man Utd to win so hopefully they dont spill this lead that they got in the first half. Burnley will need to attack now.
Burnley dominated possession of the ball in the first half, they also managed to create several opportunities but have so far failed to score. Bruno Fernandes scored in the 45th minute to end the first half with a win, but I think Burnley could have scored too if their performance had improved in the second half.

I think this match will end in a 1-1 draw if Burnley manages to score a goal in the second half, but of course it is true that Manchester United is favored in this match instead of the home team. Of course it would be interesting to know the final result.

Manchester United managed to take a 1-0 lead, looking like they would be able to win the match 1-0. But I am not satisfied with Manchester United's performance. Despite getting full 3 points in the match, their performance was poor.

Burnley are playing well. Relatively weak team Burnley. Even then they managed to put up a strong resistance against Manchester United. United would have conceded several goals in this match if Burnley's attack had been a bit stronger.

Bruno and Casemiro are playing very well today. Also the performance of Rashfor is quite good. However, United's main striker Hojlund's performance was poor today. However, the performance of Madrid defender Jonny Evans is worth seeing today. Evans has scored two goals so far, but one goal has been disallowed.

First I would want to state that the possibility of a player winning a trophy is not all about his personal ability alone, his team mates also have a huge role to play as if he is a good player but in a very weak team that isn't helping his play style it's very possible he won't get to win the desired trophy nevertheless I'm not undermining the fact that the influence of a single good player can be a game changer but the team as well has a role to play.

It will be easier for Bayern Munich to win the German bundesliga than it would for them to win the champions league as the pressure in champions league is way bigger as compared to that which they may have to face in the bundesliga, champions league as the name implies is the league of champions from various league across Europe and it's the dream of almost every European team.

Harry Kane I don't think would have done bad in Manchester united as there he will have the enabling environment to win trophies most probably he could have been that one with the effect Manchester united needed to improve and be better but then the German side was not a bad option either they both have the platform for him to still get more trophies to his name.

I definitely think Harry Kane would have done bad at Manchester United. And let's say that he doesn’t do bad by himself. Let's say that he does decent in Manchester United. But he still wouldn't have been able to win the trophies that he actually wanted to win. It was a good decision taken by him to go to Bayern Munich. At least he will be able to win the Bundesliga title for sure.

Winning any trophy is something that man Harry Kane is really after at the moment, the German league is like a free cake for the Bayern Munich side and I'm not to sure if those teams that are acting as if they can complete the struggle till the end that they're capable, they're not equal to the task until it is done, so for now Bayern Munich are still going to win the title this season.
We shouldn't see Harry Kane as the problem of his problem if you know what I mean by that, he has always done all a good striker have to do to get a trophy that's back with Spurs and to me, now that he plays for the Barbarians a title is sure and he doesn't need to do much.

Yes, I absolutely agree. If he would have gone to Manchester United and Manchester United performed like they are doing right now, him performing well alone wouldn't have been enough for him to get a trophy. And if he cannot get a trophy, what is the point of even moving out from Tottenham in the first place? This was actually good decision from him.
