61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years and no country has approved Bitcoin ?? on: November 01, 2020, 11:16:42 PM
:)Bitcoin was launched in 2007. It's 12 years and still no country has approved Bitcoin ??   Huh

and in 2018, 2nd richest man "Warren Buffet" said "bitcoin will end up badly" Smiley
Bitcoin was created in 2009, not 2007. Warren Buffet said bitcoin would end up badly? That means he knows nothing he is saying, after his bad speeches and hatred for bitcoin, bitcoin has been surviving and more adopted.

Exactly. what Warren Buffet Said about bitcoin means nothing for bitcoin and blockchain. he has no idea what he was saying. he is not a tech guy. he himself admitted that he don't know how to use computer and the only computer he had was a old computer just for calculation purpose.
and I can list a dozens of other quotes From other known personally about Bitcoin and how blockchain technology is important for future.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Loan to buy Bitcoin? on: November 01, 2020, 10:11:03 PM
some say don't use a loan for bitcoin investment, I can instead use a loan to invest in bitcoin, especially at the end of the year there is a big possibility that I will make a profit.

But what if you don't make a profit. because you'll never know if bitcoin or other altcoins will go up or down. if you barrow a loan from someone else and invest it in Bitcoin and  it lost in in bear market. then what? you'll have to repay the loan anyway. otherwise you could face legal actions and consequences.  taking loan is only reasonable when you are 100% sure that you'll make profit and repay the loan out of the profit. and bitcoin is not for that.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: Iran accepting cryptocurrencies to avoid US Dollar on: November 01, 2020, 04:51:30 PM
USA did what?!

Wow, USA is really bully nowadays just like the other one I know using an island that they didn't own. Still, that is harsh but great for the community as people have a choice to use cryptocurrencies now. I don't know if people are actually using Bitcoin there but that would create more users and maybe future holders of the said cryptocurrency.

which other country and island are you takling about? is that about Hawaii. I read somewhere that China claimed hawaii.  and crypto is being used in Iran for very long time. I know few people myself who use crypto regularly bases . so the odoption is increasing.
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the Best Time to sell ? on: November 01, 2020, 05:08:43 AM
You don't need to think much when you are buying something but when you want to sell there is always a fear that what if the price increases?
As a boy belonging to middle-class family, I don't have a large share BTC hodling and now I am unable to figure out what should I do? Here are my few questions......
Should I hold for more time?
Should I buy some more now only or wait if the price dips a bit?

I think hold is better for trade. Many time you saw that a coin price is fall down. But after time it price increase. If you want to trade it is high risk cause you can not wait few days. So i tell you need hold.

Maybe you don't know what trading actually is. otherwise you would not say that holding is better for trade.. Trading is Buying an Selling. there is no way holding is better for trading. I would say holding is not even linked with trading. trading and holding are 2 different thing.
you either hold or you trade (Buy and selll)if you want to trade you need to accept all the risks. otherwise you can hold and never trade.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest #Bitcoin transaction in history was sent literally just now! on: November 01, 2020, 12:33:01 AM
I am wondering who did this transaction? is this a move from some hackers or a legal trade?
BTW the sending wallet has received the same amount a few days back with an even lower fee: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/c9a96aad2b8fb2b65c2c124d1c6c4d2d795492e8baaeab8bc555c61a244b3cb5

and this transaction is bigger than the one OP mentioned. so obviously that is not the biggest bitcoin transaction.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't money and that isn't bad! on: October 30, 2020, 11:46:48 PM
Now Bitcoin can't serve as a medium of exchange in some small towns, but there are many places where it's accepted. That proves Bitcoin has a big potential to become "real money".

But Bitcoin is still more widely used as medium of exchange than any Fiat currency out there. every country has it's specific currency and that can only be used in that specific country. US dollar is a currency which can be used as medium of exchange in some other countries but not in all. and Bitcoin is used as medium of exchange in even more countries than US dollar. you can use Bitcoin in Us  and China equally without any problem.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Follow your mind! on: October 30, 2020, 11:20:41 PM
Its not advisable to invest from a borrowed money. When you lose, you'll be responsible to pay that back no matter what happens. And I usually listened to other's predictions and comments. However, I always follows my own instinct. If others know how to read indicators and give their TA, we can also do the same by confirming it with our own.

As we know that being optimistic can help our decisions to be successful. Sometimes, listening to the other's opinion to help you grow is also essential.

Barrowing money from someone else to invest in your trading or other business could turn into a worst nightmare. specially in crypto trading where the risk factor is 50% or higher sometime.  in real life it is very common in some countries for business. most business take loan from banks to start their business. I would never do that in real life or in cryptocurrency field either. because if you loose others money in your investments you can force huge  consequences. 2nd and third option are natural. we need to control them but if we fell for them we'll loose our own money and we won't face any other risks.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Non custodial and custodial on: October 30, 2020, 07:03:07 AM
Here is a small list of None custodial:
Online and webwallets:
Blockchain.com
Bitpay.com
Coinomi.

Offline:
Desktop and Hardware Wallets
Electrum
Bitcoin-Core
Ledger
I am very sure BitPay is custodial. Coinomi went closed-source a while ago and I'm not sure how non-custodial Blockchain's wallet really is. They promise not to hold your keys, but you never really know.

Also, Ledger Live doesn't work offline.. does it? AFAIK, you have to have an active internet connection to use it - unlike Electrum and Bitcoin Core. Remember that some platforms only give you the impression of having control when, in fact, it's them owning your seeds/keys as well. Coinomi going closed-source means anything could happen behind the scenes - including the collection of your seed.

Well Bitpay itself claims to be a none custodial. see it by yourself: https://bitpay.com/wallet/
now if they are lying then I don't know.
and Coinomi has been non custodial, and I can still see in my wallet they have option to backup wallet and export private keys. I don't know what do you mean by closed source.

and Not only Ledger, every wallet requires to be connected to internet to send BTC. can we send Bitcoin without an internet using electrum?

Coinbase.com
Circle
Ownr Wallet.
And All CEX exchanges are custodials as well.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Christmas on: October 29, 2020, 12:52:13 AM
I recommend you friend is that you go to a place with the person to whom you are going to give the gift and buy something using cryptocurrency and talk a little about its usability

But can you elaborate about the place where you are suggesting OP to go with the Friend and buy hi a gift with Bitcoin?  do you have any specific marketplace, any shop or outlet where we can buy gifts using bitcoins? I know few places online. but you are sounding like talking about offline world. so kindly tell us if you know about a shop where we can shop for Christmas?
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Missed the golden opportunity, now what?? on: October 28, 2020, 11:47:40 PM
It is better to buy it now instead of regretting again in future when it reach to $20k , $50k or even $100k. you may missed the golden opportunity but that doesn't mean that was the only opportunity. there is still opportunity to get in this train and have at least as much as you can afford.
Buy it now or else you'll be buying at for higher price. don't waste your time regretting for past and missed opportunity. use your brain to make your present and fast better.
72  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🏆 Bitcointalk Community Awards [Discussion] on: October 28, 2020, 05:29:21 AM
first I thought to reply the Voting thread. but then decided to post it here.
In Voting Thread, Threa is a Rule:
Quote
You must be a Full Member or higher to nominate / vote.
I would advise considering changing this rule to Member rank at least. now after the merit system. it is big thing to even reach to member level. earning 10 merits is not easy (if they are given fairly) it requires a lot of effort and knowledge to make high-quality posts which attract people and they give merits. so I would say allow members rank users to cast votes too.
I would like to hear what other people say about this.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: October 28, 2020, 03:11:01 AM
Good day,
forgive a newbie question please. I am new on the bitcoin scene and I am also pretty fresh in economics. I am learning, I suppose that is what I wanted to say. I was an ignorant for a way to long and now I trying to gain knowledge to be a little wiser. I got a bit lost because of the pandemic and I wonder is it good to invest in bitcoin and stock market nowadays or should I wait and see what is the market response going to be. I was pretty sure I got a hang of it but the situation changes so dynamically that it is hard for me to follow.

First of All, welcome to this  Forum and Bitcoin world. 2nd I am glad that you finally accepted your ignorance and now ready to learn this new and amazing technology of Bitcoin, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. I am sure you'll be proud of yourself in future. now coming to your question, then I would say yes it is still good time to invest in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency (can't say about stock market) but you need to be smart and first educate yourself properly and gain as much knowledge as you can. then make your plan of investment.
I wish you best of luck and stay safe.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: October 28, 2020, 01:40:43 AM
Within the next 2-3 months, a large part of the global population (at least in the urban areas) will acquire herd immunity. Then the governments will face the dilemma of whether to go ahead with the mass-vaccination or not. In countries such as India, the infection and fatality rates have plummeted by more than half during the last few weeks. Apart from Europe (which is facing the second wave) all the other regions are now in a better state.
I think vaccination is not important because it is not certain whether the vaccine is effective against COVID-19.  WHO has stated several times that the vaccine will not be produced in the near future!!  Now what the government should focus on is how to revive an economy that has been paralyzed so that unemployment is soaring in almost every corner of their respective countries can reduce.  second wave? it seems that no one cares about COVID-19 anymore..  Cheesy

Vaccination is important bro. because without that it would be hard to control this disease. 1.16 people already died. and thousands more dying every day. so proper vaccination is very important. and you said that it is not certain whether the vaccine is effective or not. I would say if medical firms and scientists make the vaccine then they will do proper trials and do a lot of clinical tests before launching it to worldwide nations. so the chance of its effectiveness is good. it can still take time. though.
and the economy cannot revive if the world is in chaos and depressed like that.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡[ANN] TOKENPAY ⚡ SCAMMED 1 MILLION $ FROM BOUNTY AND REFERRAL PROGRAM ⚡ on: October 28, 2020, 01:12:41 AM
There marketcap data don’t lie, they just almost took all the money. It was a very well hype project in their early days but soon to be listed in crypto obituary. Honestly I’m still surprised that TPAY is still trading these days, I really thought that they’re already dead. I’m very much more excited seeing founders charged for their fraud.
It is sad but true that the founders are not being charged anywhere soon . I've tried my best. tried contacting FBI. Federal Trade Comission and every other agencies . but no one gave any response. I've tried contact the exchanges. coinmarketcap but seems no one cares. because they all have been paid.
it's simple if a scam project pay them to list their coin . they'll do it.
If there were some US investors that have invested in this scam project and these investors could have brought tokenpay to the legal action. I have told some US investors in the past to take the legal action against a scam project called bitclave and then bitclave has already sued by SEC as the US investors who have participated in the bitclave felt they have already scammed and reported it to take the legal action against it to get back their money.

It's not an easy task to create a report to the legal action against the project. You will need someone from the US to help you create a report to the SEC or even FBI.

I hope SEC will take a look at this scam project.

By Digging out their ICO history. I found out that they did not allowed US Citizens to participate in their ICO. Even their owners are based in US. but they claimed to register Tokenpay from another place, I think singapore (if I am not forgetting) and they restricted US and chinese Investors to join ICO as that time US and Chinese Govt was hard on ICOs and Tokensales. so yeah you are right. it is difficult to get any refund or any legal actions against them as they did not mess up with strong nations.

There should be no other active coin available with the same/similar name

I've seen so many names suggest here which are alrady exist and have coins.
for example: one gai suggested "RAI" which was been name of famous RaiBlock which is not rebranded into Nano.  and there is another coin with RAI ticker in CMC.
another guy suggested Poseidoncoin which is also a  coin listed in coinmarketcap.
another guy Said "Mint" which is also a coin name in CMC. there would be many more.
I think people did not read rules and requirements properly and make entries.

and I didn't used any of them but only Bitcointalk for me the Best source of spending bitcoin and buying goods and software using bitcoin is bitcointalk. here we have good security option like Escrow services.
78  Economy / Marketplace / Re: shipping cash to escrow? on: October 27, 2020, 04:03:28 PM
If I want to buy some physical items here on the marketplace, are there trusted members who can act as escrow? If so, can I mail them cash, like actual dollar bills, which they would hold on to until they have the physical items, then escrow forwards the physical items to me and ships the cash to the seller?
As what mentioned above, escrows here are willing to help for any kind of transactions but if you're offering a cash payment, it would be hard since mailing cash is prohibited in most mails even it bypass in country's origin there's still chance that it would be noticed on the receiver's (escrow) country.

Besides this is bitcoin related forum, at least make it one of the option for payment when transacting here.

have you heard about  Money Order? this is the way of sending Cash to another person through mail. and it's legal and 100% safe. you can even send money through money order to other countries.  and you can use Westren Union.
The problem is not sending of the money. the problem is that escrow. I think there is no such Escrow providers who hold a Fiat Cash Escrow.  OP has to find another solution or look somewhere else for his desired person.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: October 27, 2020, 03:41:50 PM
Rather than motivation at present people need realization, because even now we can see people who doesn't care anything serious and move on as the past. People need to realize the truth about covid-19 and the spreading possibilities. Once if they realise it, automatically people will request the respective for the required testing.

ealization is actually what we need right now. you are right mate.  I remember I once watched in news that there was a lady who took a bus ride without wearing a mask. bus driver asked him to wear a mask but he refused and not only that he also cough on his face.  after few days that bus driver dies by covid19.
so people have to realize the risks and practice the precautions and safety measure first. then they can motivate others.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking Bitcoin is Scam on: October 27, 2020, 06:05:47 AM
As we know as a crypto Community most of people's think that a Bitcoin (any crypto currency) is illegal and scam. But Now Paypal officially integrated inbuilt features to buy/sell Bitcoin , Etherium , USDT and etc. So It is a great slap to the mostly people who think Crypto is illegal. Now they understand the power of crpyto in upcoming less than 2 years and it will change whole market , the early adopters will take great benefit.

Illegal and scam are two different things. people who think Bitcoin is a scam are dumb. but assuming crypto is illegal without knowing that specific country's law and regulations about bitcoin is even worse.
Bitcoin is indeed illegal in some places as Govt don't like (for obvious reason). but now it is changing. people using it without caring about it's legality. and Bitcoin is Decentralized. so govt can't stop people to use it.
and only those early adopters will take benefits who still hodling it. those who sold their bitcoins are probably regretting now. or will regret forever. and 2nd thing. it is still not very late people can still adopt bitcoin and cryptocurrency. buy and hodl.
