yeah, you are offering too low !!
just GPUs costs something like that, and where is Power Supply who cost pretty much, and all other parts...
I can rent you on 4 months for that price, I need money for 4 GPUs more, I have 4 empty spaces and enough power.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 19, 2016, 04:32:37 PM

The only question and problem is why this person who are robbing the network after 10 days still doing that.
So why Dev still didn't stopped him ? and why Bter still accepting his stolen coins ?

Didn't know that you can mining anything when you are disconnected from the network, but people learning while they alive...really sad, I'm mining this coin months and months, if you ask me, the best mining coin ever !!

If you run two nodes, for your two nodes you are not disconnected - your are the network in your own nodes view! Every wallet I've seen needs two nodes at least before it starts accepting blocks. By isolating your nodes you simulate a natural fork that happens when networks divide due to failures or outages in links etc.

yeah just teach me lool
for few days you will have one more attacker ... just kidding Wink
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 17, 2016, 05:53:45 PM
but how that person implement hidden chain into the regular chain ?
how is that even possible ?
so, let's fight fire with fire !?
Seems that what Verge done with multiple algorithms succeed ! maybe that is the answer !?

I have linked a few articles above that explain selfish mining, but lets have a short example:

Say Alice, Bob and Carol are honest miners, they currently all mine on block X.

Mallory is a malicious selfish miner and she disconnects her two nodes from the network (i.e. by firewalling them from other nodes).
Now Mallory also starts to mine on block X, but if Mallory finds a block, she won't let the network know, instead she watches the block-explorer to see if one of Alice, Bob or Carol finds a block.

Assume Mallory has some powerful miners rented and has already advanced to block X+8, now if she sees that Bob found block X, she opens her firewalling and just releases her block X and her block X+1 to the network. Bobs block X will be orphaned and Bob, Alice and Carol have to restart mining on Mallory's block X+2 (Bob, Alice and Carole are wasting their mining power now, since the Mallory is already at X+8, in the meantime she advance to maybe X+10).

Now Carole finds block X+3 and shortly after Mallory releases her blocks X+3 and X+4, again Carols block is orphaned and Bob, Carol and Alice have to restart mining on block X+5 (which Mallory has since some time already).

Naturally the same principle works for X+100 or X+1000 if Mallory has advanced her private chain far enough.

We do not see this often in coins, because a coin that is attacked this way is loosing in value and that normally hurts the attacker. However if the attacker has not the goal of getting a financial benefit, he can kill a coin like this with ~25-35% of total hash power and I bet this is what we see here again.

Note that in practice you probably have a patched wallet so you can release single blocks at your will anytime you want. With just firewalling your nodes you can just release your whole private chain at once and not blockwise.

Standard disclaimer: I am noob and I might have not the slightest clue what I am talking about and you all should do your own research before basing any decision on what I say, I am just voicing my oppinion.

yes I was reading a lot that what you linked and this what you are saying make sense a lot !!
Thank you !!
But really, how to fight with this ? Or we need some very active Dev, who will make Hard Fork everytime when that happened so the attacker will quit at the end or, as I said before, as Verge, multialgorithm or make POW/POS.

If no updates on the source are being made I think we should consider this coin dead.
It is compromised, and it's not going to be better with more nodes.

1 thing might help...
If the price at least triples in value, so more hashrate can be pointed on a good profitability, makes it much harder to achieve >51%...

But at the end.. On this stage the price will only drop, making the problem even bigger..

I'm not sure that this has anything with 51% attack, because as I said before, I have the blocks confirmed on the pool, sent to Bter, so around 150 confirmations, even more, and then someone has changed complete network with his own blocks, new created, 51% attack gives you Orphan in that moment, but this is not the case here !!
As you can see I still have Pending blocks on Bter but that txs doesn't exist anymore !!! so this blocks will be never confirmed

Hard Fork again ? ? ? ? ?
wooow devs, you are the champions in forks !!!

and could someone explain to me one thing, which I don't understand !
there were 2 pools mining TIPS right now, 26 GH/s one with 16 GH/s and the other one with 10 GH/s, so the blocks were go fine and then, Hard Fork, all our blocks are now Orphan but our blocks are changed with some other Unknown address ( all new opened today 11.06.2016 with 22-23 transactions ) who obviously didn't mined at all !!!!
So how is that possible ? ? ? Is that a pure robbery ??
because right now I feel very robbed !!! and this is not first time !!

I would love to hear an explanation from devs, so could you be so kind and explain that please ?

Hi Plast555 !
To me, we need at least 22 nodes to chain of TIPS maintenance. At this exact moment I see only 5 active nodes to me. With this quantity of nodes the chain can be hacked easily with new forks. Because this the BlockChain of BTC is very trustable, isn't possible to control more than 50% of BTC nodes (is necessary enormous computation work), if someone keep the this control, is possible to join new chains (new hacked forks) on the real chain. Unfortunately after CRYPSY bankrupt, resposible for maintenance of important nodes of TIPS, we now have very little nodes... we need more nodes to combat 51% crypto attack.

I don't think that is what you say the problem.
1. a lot of coins has just few nodes and never happened nothing similar
2. I'm mining on Smarterhash with high hashrate, then how so that I personally never hack the network on that way as you said ?
3. to me seams that someone who have an access like dev, messing up with the chain creating the new blocks, and as you can see if you follow the network, that person let 20 - 50 blocks, then cut them out and past his blocks with multiple new created addresses and then again and again.... and the same person manipulating the price on Bter because if you following Tips, you can see how someone, pump dump than again pump the price in just few minutes, so it's obvious that this is just one person, in normal world this would be the case for the jail sentence, but sad thing is that in crypto people can still doing this
4. wooow, what I just found, even confirmed blocks from yesterday what was sent to Bter, later was deleted from network !!!!

We need new Dev who will stand up for the people ! Not someone who is hiding behind the problems, not communicating, being so suspicious...
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 14, 2016, 09:41:28 PM
and again Orphans and again we lost money !!!!!!!
and still from devs 0 info, no communications !!!
I saw in 2 and half years many bad people here in crypto but I have to say that this is one of the worst kind of people !!!
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 13, 2016, 06:18:16 PM
Sorry testbug but there is no devs active !!
still nobody don't know what exactly happened with Fedora, we get zero infos, zero comunicatons, like we are nobody, not important, all in all one big zero, nothing, nada, niente !!!
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 12, 2016, 07:14:43 AM
Ok Dev what is this what you are doing ? when you and your group are planing to stop producing coins for yourself ??
and at least you can inform us what happened, when you will doing something on the network so we can stop losing our money ! and when we can continue to mining ?

and would you burn all those millions and millions of coins what you produced ?

Hello everybody!

We need somes nodes to resync fedora wallet!

It seems's that nodes in first page doesn't working right!!

So can you give us somes addnode?

And finally, is there any SHA256 mining pool for fedoracoin?

I have script and antminer asics!!!

So if you can help us?

Thank's!

you are posting on wrong topic !!
Here is TIPS topic
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1420302.0

with new takeover and a few words/ideas from the first dev !!
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: May 15, 2016, 11:14:15 AM
This was one of the best mining coin for 2 years.
Now, this is the circus !!!
over 110 GH/s from one person, Fork after Fork, many of us lost a lot of coins, or better say, was stolen by that mysterious person...all in all circus !!
better stay away from this !!

like Tips Statement says in OP:

On the bitcointalk forum is a ilegal takeover attempt on TIPS/Fedoracoin.
We are doing everything we can to prevent scammers to act against members and interests Fedoracoin community.

now sounds very funny after we was robbed like this !!

...but ok, we will see what will happened in the future, but on this way, I personally don't see nothing good
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: May 10, 2016, 02:20:56 PM
I suppose Bter is running on fractional reserve for TIPS. They are having less TIPS in their pockets than all account credits show, due to the fork. Bad thing is, that Bter is the only TIPS exchange with relevant volume.

i send some TIPS to cryptopia today, 12 hours and no credited to my account yet.
the transfer problem are only in exchanges.

Cryptopia TIPS wallet is in maintenance. Your deposit should be there once the wallet comes out of maintenance.
I contacted Cryptopia yesterday for an ETA of re-enabling the TIPS wallet, but they were unable to give an estimate.

We have to focus on Bter
Dev has to clear this thing out and contact Bter, fix this mess

The original dev (invisibel) has gone long time ago and is not available anymore, testbug and teillagory tried to reach out to him without success.

IMHO, nobody can force bter to change their mind on TIPS confirmations, except maybe enough users of their exchange complaining loud and long enough.

ok maybe that too, not bad idea, but Dev Team can compare current network with Bter, make some deal that will not be some change in near future and that's it, they afraid they will lose coins in some next fork, so Dev has to clear out this issue with Bter and if Bter lose any TIPS how will Dev compensate that lost, as Bter says:

Sorry, the blockchain is not stable for TIPS, and more confirmations are required for TIPS deposit transition transaction.

Your transaction will show when there are enough confirmations.

Thank you for your patience

...as I understand, everything works fine now !! that's what Bter has to know, that Fork is over and every pool and every exchange is on the same fork

I am on windows 10 machine.. by balance is not getting deducted .. when I run mining bat file, coins are getting added .. no use if I can't spend them   Sad Sad Sad Sad

I had the same problem, this algoritam is significantly different than others, I was mining with 3 GPUs 3 days, and I was thinking that I have 23 000 coins on one PC and 25 000 on the other, and than I saw that I can not send coins, so I was mining on my own fork what was on my PC, then I figure what we have to do, connect to all nodes in OP !!
check: admin.peers if you are connected and then you start to mining !!!
and then you will see the real volume of your coins....at the end I had on one PC 60 coins and on the other PC I had 0 Sad
3 days...well f***, but I learned something about this algo, school can be expensive sometimes Wink

Some lucky guy just caught 600k VEC at 167 sats.

fake order i think

pumping volume, that's good thing !!
everybody doing that

wtf bter, this is really joke. if we must waiting 40k confirmation, this is will be confirm about 40day if 1day reach 1k block/day..

can dev team helping us, consultation with bter support??

i have over than 0.7btc worth of tips in my deposit...

me too, I have 0.45 BTC worth !!!

and btw everything can happened in 40 days, price can fall down, people can stop mining because of this...

I find it somewhat crazy confirmation time, its like Bter don't really want user withdrawing funds from their exchange.

it's normal that they want to protect themselves but this issue Dev has to manage with Bter
or maybe is in someones interest that miners can not sell/dump their coins there

Bter need 40 000 confirmations for TIPS deposit WTF Huh

Crypto-currencies are credited within 1 minute after accessing this page or "My funds" page and only after 40000 confirmations of the transaction in the network.

All my coins Pending, wrote Ticket to Support yesterday but still no answer !!

and just received an email from Bter support and they are not joking with 40 000 confirmations !!!
They answer:

"Sorry, the tips network doesn't stable enough. More confirmations are needed
Thank you for your patienec"

Can Dev team do something here Huh
We will wait 40 000 confirmations now ?? really ??
