One of the was to prevent similar scenarios from happening in the future is to study what went wrong in the past. Could you share any of the details and any information that would describe the manner in which the coins might have been stolen?
Would love to know what happened, you have me worried I'm making some noob mistake. I wont disclose it incase one gets mixed up. Dont want to be funding the bastard.
Please reveal the hackers address, I realize there is no real point to it, but I have more curiosity than a cat.

Why? And technically doesn't Tor use proxies?

I believe Armory (it's an extension for the Bitcoin-QT client) will allow you to send specific coins. You can download it and then separate the random coins from the coins you want to keep. If Armory won't work for you I've read the Electrum client will do the same thing. This should be easier than exporting private keys.

nice explanation +1

I'm glad things are looking up for you. Unfortunately, the blockchain download becomes much slower during the later blocks due to the increased transaction activity, so it may take longer than expected.

Make sure the Bitcoin client is not running and then go to the directory "C:/Users/"your username"/Appdata/Roaming/Bitcoin" and move the files blk001, blk002, and blkindex to My Documents. You will have to show hidden files and folders. (if you don't know how to do this just search show hidden files and folders in the start menu) Then start the Bitcoin client and wait for it to re-download the blockchain. The block chain is over four GB so leave the client running overnight. This is a semi-common problem, and the only way I've ever heard to fix it was to either let the Bitcoin client re-download the blockchain, or to download and replace the blockchain manually(This is more difficult yet faster and more reliable fix.)

What Bitcoin client are you using? If it's Bitcoin-Qt then you can just leave it running overnight and it will synchronize by itself.

Try placing # in front off ALL of your posted text and then add this: core_speed: 650
mem_speed: 300
This code will set the core speed and memory clock that are used while mining. However, it will leave the other default values alone. This will create a more stable system. If this works please let me know.

Doesn't there have to be a confirmation time first?
They appear in your wallet 2 blocks after you mine them, however they are greyed out and unusable until the block has 120 confirmations. Hope this answers your question. Unusable as in miners won't include them in the next block if you try to send them. (Bitcoin-QT won't even let you try to send them until it has had 120 confirmations).

Forgive me for hijacking the thread, but under what circumstances does the the latest bitcoin client warn you that the wallet is out of sync? I believe simply nothing more than is the timestamp for the last block in the longest chain older than it should be. I don't know if that is like 30 minutes or two hours, but if it hasn't gotten a block in a while, then more blocks are needed, and thus the warning. Thank you.

TraderSteve ( http://goldstarbullion.com/) sometimes has a better price because he uses a different price algorithm, but he just sells random 1oz rounds.

It sounds like your hardware failed. You should test different configurations (card slots and power cables) to determine where the problem is. You may have to replace the motherboard or power supply.

Assuming 6.25 blocks per hour block 200,000 will be mined around Saturday at noon (Eastern time zone)

I know that's not what BAMT(BIG A Miner Thing) stands for, I was just having fun with word play.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't miners slightly more efficient when run on BAMT?

BAMT is the Best All-around Miner There is.
I really don't know which is the best, but BAMT is a great option if you take the time to set it up.
