201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin.com - hosting provider: leaseweb.com on: July 30, 2011, 06:45:21 PM
Bitcoin by design is decentralized currency. If you centralize it in some obscure services you are asking for problems. If you want to use Bitcoin bank, then bank real address, name, phone number, photo of owner's face confirmed by 3rd party should be ABSOLUTE MINIMUM for you to even consider storing money there.

I prefer anonymous e-wallet service with anonymous owner who have a reputation.

In any case, the problem with mybitcoin is that they have no communication channel. Even if they have not stolen my money, I still move out...because they shown poor services.
They do have a communication channel. This forum. They just choose not to use it, probably because they're pulling a scam.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin.com - hosting provider: leaseweb.com on: July 30, 2011, 05:58:43 PM
Is there ANY WAY TO GET MY BTC out of their system? Like, I have the wallet # and my authorization um, stuff. So... surely there is a way?
No. Sorry.

204  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a small loan on: July 30, 2011, 05:09:22 PM
anyone wanna have a side bet?... I say he will pay him back..

I should have taken that bet
:/
There is nothing to pay back, so the bet would probably be considered void as well Wink
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin.com, where did it go? on: July 30, 2011, 04:54:06 PM
yeah... well i hope its just a hosting issue.

They would have made some form of announcement somehow by now if that were the case.
206  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a small loan on: July 30, 2011, 04:53:03 PM
It sadly looks that way.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tradehill SEPA account frozen! on: July 30, 2011, 03:40:54 PM
We do not lie to our bank, and that's the reason why we have so much trouble getting a new European bank. We have a full presentation (what is bitcoin, etc) and explain to each financial institution what we are dealing with.

Secondary, neither Tradehill nor MtGox is conducting any financial business. We accept deposits from users for the purpose of buying a service, that's a common system known as "prepaid", used by many merchants around the world. You can ask for a refund ("withdraw"), and that's not a problem either.

We are, however, talking with the FSA about Bitcoin and want them to understand and let us know if there is any specific requirement for us.
Ahh, the joys of legal loopholes Cheesy
208  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a small loan on: July 30, 2011, 03:09:08 PM
As MoonShadow was sending the funds with MyBitcoin, which is now seemingly gone, and I made the declaration of debt above prematurely (I hadn't received any funds before posting it) I'm going to assume the deal is void.

I will wait for MoonShadow to confirm (or deny) in this thread.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin.com, where did it go? on: July 30, 2011, 01:56:47 PM
This was bound to happen eventually, the site was just running without a person maintaining it for at least a month; support haven't answered messages since late June. The guy running the site obviously has better things to do than look after his users, he took 1BTC from me over a month ago, probably not malicious but obviously doesn't give a shit about us.

So if you were still using this service after all the complaints in the forum then you were asking for trouble.

What would you recommended as a wallet service replacement?
Your wallet.dat.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcement from Dwolla CEO on Blog (today) on: July 30, 2011, 05:19:50 AM
So at this point, what advantage does Dwolla have over any other bank transfer?
They've got a 'w' in their name. Everybody loves 'w'.

Also, they uh...

... actually, I think that was it.
211  Economy / Services / Re: offering to do repetitive computer tasks on: July 30, 2011, 05:12:26 AM
Someone should make a BTC variant of Mechanical Turk.
212  Economy / Goods / Re: Mystery Envelopes - 0.05 BTC on: July 30, 2011, 04:58:52 AM
Ordered. I'll report back if the experience was worth it. Cheesy

Please do.  Even I want to open your envelope.  I mean, it could be ANYthing.  It could even be an envelope.
An envelope in an envelope in an envelope...

213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get the women on board? on: July 30, 2011, 02:45:15 AM
LOL. I have matching lingerie and I also have some slutty underwear (trust me, they're not the same thing). The latter was bought for me by a guy who only got to see me wear it so his feelings wouldn't get hurt.

I love it when men think they know women oh so very well. Cheesy
I love it when women think every other woman is exactly like them.
I don't think all women are like me. Not even most of my women friends are me or like each other. But when it comes to women's underwear, many men don't seem to know the difference between classy and brassy (nor, for that matter, sexy and slutty), but their wives and girlfriends tend to put up with it anyway.
Tongue

Women in their underwear are sexy. That's that. When those underwear become exotic in any form, they become slutty, by my reckoning. Maybe I am too naive.
Not naive. Just a bit old fashioned Tongue

I've talked to a lot of women who say they love sexy underwear. These are women who haven't been sexually interested in me, so it wasn't said in any way to impress me or for me to feel better about myself. My current girlfriend also loves sexy underwear. For most of the women who love sexy underwear, it is all about being attractive to their man. They love the way the man they love look at them when they're wearing something sexy.

Let's ask them to accept bitcoins!!!

http://chicapparel.info/index.php

That would be awesome Wink

Right, because women LOVE slutty underwear (and whhich is why their men tend to buy it for them more than they tend to buy it for themselves).
 Roll Eyes
Uh, A LOT of women love sexy underwear.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining at a loss: Insurmountable Problem in the near future or am I mistaken? on: July 29, 2011, 09:55:20 PM
1) Better hardware is soon released
2) The price goes up
3) Difficulty goes down.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox/AurumXchange Partnership - European Transfers Now Available on: July 29, 2011, 07:38:28 PM
I can't even trade them back to BTC to take them to TradeHill or another service, since the money is not on my account anymore, it's in a limbo state (withdrawn but not arrived to the bank account).
Yes you can. I did. Send a support ticket to Mt. Gox, and you will get the money back in your account. However, Tradehill SEPA withdrawals are also gone at the moment, until sometime next week.
LOL!Gox will answer your ticket in a month time.

I've sent two support tickets, and got a reply to both after just a few hours.
220  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Free Bitcoins At GetPaidz.com on: July 29, 2011, 06:27:08 PM
0.00002 BTC per comment/signup/etc is still way too low. Considering sites like myLot pay around $0.01 per post  (sometimes more for quality posts) and pretty much every paid-to-signup site pays between $0.05 - $0.10 per sign up... I know you're going to increase payment more, but you will need to increase it a lot more if you want your site to be competitive.
