It's really hard to know what amount potentially could be a life changing number of btc to hold for the future. I mean 5 btc is pretty difficult for a lot to stash. This may not be that life changing....but who knows, 1 may be enough!
100 bitcoins. Well, wouldn't that be nice!

If I invest the amount some people say is a good number of btc to retire on I may as well just go out and buy a gallardo right now. I am hoping they are wrong and in the future just a few bitcoins will get a lambo

If used as a currency I choose Bitcoin. Dividing gold bars and coins could be tricky.
With Bitcoin this is not an issue. With gold just one small coin is hundreds of dollars! Not practical and I wouldn't wanna carry that about.
Btw. I hold gold, silver and btc.

the thing of facebook make me cry.. facebook is on top currently ,before it we had myspace twiter as other social sites... soo do you really think that facebook will hold forever the kingdom? safe investment?go work ,healty all you need to that lol.about ammount we cant say how much a bitcoin will be worthing on the next 20 years but we will see on the next 5 years how it will goes... how many bitcoins still avaible to be mined as i remember predictions said that about 2050 bitcoin mining should be over soo those time above we will see bitcoin jumping or down....
Twitter before? Twitter is newer than Facebook and as far as I know Twitter is way bigger than Facebook nowadays. No one barely uses Facebook anymore besides login in every once in a while and put some pics, people are more active in Twitter and instagram. Also comparing Bitcoin with social networks is a fallacious analogy. well i just said that invest on social networks in this case facebook isnt soo safe as looks like people changes their mind ..... search for new things.... well back to main topic i guess 1000 btc will be enought since im pretty sure it will go up on the next years coming Whilst i agree that 1000btc is enough to retire on but in 20 years? That's around $250,000 in today's money. If someone can happily invest that right now then they aren't doing too bad in life at this moment in time surely!

http://armstrongeconomics.com/archives/33539Silver is headed below $12 and gold below $1050. Most likely bottoming below $9 and $850. The lowest possible for gold in the $600s. We have a bounce here in BTC and PMs, then headed for lower lows, which means < $150 for BTC and probably double-digits It will be a blood bath. You've been warned. And I have not been wrong since I started following Armstrong some years ago. Talk about bringing doom and gloom to the party. There was a nice discussion about anti gravity and Mr need war comes in to piss on the fire. Dear oh dear

Wasn't aware that was the current of thought in the UK, it seemed quite the opposite when I went there once: super cars pretty much everywhere on the streets. Of all kinds and brands... So I guess there are many twats around there? As for staying under the radar... Agreed Compared to almost any other country I've been to, the UK is heaving with top end cars. In comparison in Europe or the US you might spot a fancy car every couple of days if you're lucky. It's not down to wealth as much as a love of outrageous amounts of credit. I think the UK is the world's most personally indebted economy by a long way. A supercar in London is just part of the landscape. Elsewhere it's open season from jealous dick heads. Brits do not like or encourage overt displays of success. There are lots of high end cars and super cars here in the UK. It's not rare at all. Just at my gym in the car park are Astons, Porsches, ferraris (sometimes). One guy I know has a Bugatti veyron too! But he keeps it at his holiday home in Monaco. Unbelievable. Seriously though, they can't all be rich surely?

Personally, I would rather never sell my bitcoin. And I probably never will. I will, however, exchange some of them for some goods. Then I'm going to sell those goods to a few friends, and buy bitcoins back, at about 2% profit. I'm going to slowly inch my way up to 1BTC. So, that should be... two years from now.
This seems like a massive effort for 1btc. 2 years?

LFC_bitcoin I'd love to have witnessed your excitement if you'd held btc in November/Dec 2013 willybot pump.
I'm sure the next big bubble will blow that out of the water! I only had a small number of btc back then and I was looking at CMC every 2 minutes.
No work got done.

I am holding for the long term. Whether it be crash and burn or skyrocketing beyond belief.
I don't plan on selling, I aim to be able to buy property with my btc many years down the line. I have many investments but Bitcoin is the one that excites me the most.

I went without internet for 3 days and this is what I come home to. My god, any opinions on how long this will last until it falls? Keep going without Internet then! Come back in one year please!

It would be quite ironic if the banks were the ones to increase the Bitcoin price many times over.

It's happened again.
I didn't necessarily recommend Bitcoin but the conversation turned to Bitcoin. (Not my doing!)
The new guy in the group asked what it was. I explained and he listened with a stupid smirk on his face that I wanted to slap silly. It wasn't until I started explaining the people getting involved, the blockchain tech and the finite number he started to see the possibilities.
I am 33 and this guy was nearing 50. He's not old but I think the majority of older people cannot be changed. He is a war veteran and not techy at all.
I hate that smirk on people's faces when you explain it to them and they look at you as if it's a scam.
I believe things will change in 10 years or less as tech minded youngsters start getting involved and bring fresh ideas to businesses.

I hope you are right but a part of me is selfish and hopes for more stability so I can accumulate more Bitcoin.

The only issue with all this bullshit is that the average person will believe what ever they read. They will side with mastercard's view unfortunately.

Whether it's good or bad I am the one who always says I'll buy a little each month but that never happens. I leave it for months then buy a fairly large amount in a binge buy.
I am waiting in the sidelines to make my next purchase. I have no idea which way it'll go but I still look at the price about 5 times daily (rather than every 5 minutes end of November 2013!)
I am ready btc, tell me what you are doing and stop being boring.
Not a bad idea to get a confirmation of the direction before you go all in. I'd say if we blast past $260 it's pretty much confirmed upwards and still cheap. Yeah I agree, I look at the price a lot so I am pretty certain I can get in with my next purchase and be safe. Unless I wake up on morning and go and sit on the toilet to quickly look at coinmarketcap to see a $1000 btc. Then I may have missed it
