1581  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin soon to begin its death drop again? I feel it coming. on: October 26, 2014, 10:34:37 PM

I have my first little one on the way. Well.......in 4 months I'll be a dad.

Hope everything goes well!

Thanks a lot!! Me too!

Our kids will inherit bitcoin from us, at least from me!

[/quote]

Yep, they will inherit but I won't spoil my kid/kids if bitcoin does take off. They can get a job (as long as they are old enough) and learn what life is all about. They will have to do it themselves but won't ever go short! I'm mean but not that mean

Reading things from 2011 just reminds me of all the things I was doing in that year that wasn't buying bitcoin.

Oh well, onwards and upwards.....
These were the years I got my kids.
I can't blame them for getting into bitcoin as late as February 2013  Smiley
I mean, the fun I had making them was also very valuable.
But only the diapers! Wink

I have my first little one on the way. Well.......in 4 months I'll be a dad.

I hope in 10-15 years I'll look back and think I'm glad I saw bitcoin's potential and bought btc whilst the price was reasonable.

Either that or it's worth nothing!

Our kids could be using nothing but bitcoin in the future. Nobody knows....

1584  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will you do when BTC is 1M each on: October 23, 2014, 06:25:32 AM
I'd wish I had bought more at $384 for sure
Setup some really secure wallets.
I'd sell my current house and buy or build a new one with no mortgage and enough of a trust to cover the expenses perpetually.
Spend more time doing fun stuff with family and friends and less time working.

Exactly this
1585  Economy / Services / Re: Just advertised my electrical services for payment in bitcoin. on: October 21, 2014, 09:27:56 PM
would be nice to know what area atleast. or even country
It would probably be a lot better for the OP if he advertised locally instead of on a forum that reaches people throughout the world.

I don't think that many people will be willing to purchase the services of an electrician from someone on bitcointalk.org anyway. I think it would be much more effective for you to advertise via traditional means and to put the fact that you accept bitcoin in your advertisement

Please......I have said before.....the original post was NOT the business advertisement! As the last guy mentioned I have advertised on a British website offering my services for bitcoin.

I was purely informing you all within the bitcoin community of what I am trying to do outside of this forum.

I am stupid but not that stupid.

Ps. No calls as of yet.

Thank you

Bournemouth, England.

(The initial post wasn't the advertisement by the way!!)
1587  Economy / Services / Just advertised my electrical services for payment in bitcoin. on: October 19, 2014, 07:11:42 PM
As the title says.

I am a qualified electrician and have had my own business for a number of years. I am a sole trader so don't have to worry about employees.

I am not expecting any calls to be honest as my work is hands on and not online so it needs to be fairly local unfortunately.

All I can do is test the water and see what happens!

1588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying supercoin question on: October 15, 2014, 01:10:56 PM
I guess is low volume of trade. you should always if have chance go on exchange where is most volume. Let me find it for you. Tongue

Bittrex had yesterday $230 volume and it seems it is best exchange is best to trade this coin on. But unless you believe this coin fill some niche that none other coin does and have great future i would not invest in it, since daily volume is under 1 BTC. You will have big problems when you will want to pull BTC out of your investment.

Thanks for your help. I could not understand the huge difference in buy and sell values. I am always interested in investing new/ early crypto currencies and I have heard good things with regards to supercoin but maybe they are the bulls trying to push the price up!
Who knows
1589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Buying supercoin question on: October 15, 2014, 11:25:56 AM
Hi all,

Being a noob I have a noob question.

I buy btc often and I own a lot of doge too. I have been reading up on supercoin and I am very interested in buying some.

I have been on allcoin.com and seen that the price to buy is

Price to buy per supercoin = 0.00004988 btc

Price to sell per supercoin = 0.00000200 btc

Why such a ridiculous difference??? The value of supercoin is not valued at the buy price on coinmarketcap etc so why so expensive to buy on allcoin?

I am in the uk if this makes any difference in case anyone suggests another trading site.

Go easy on the replies as I am still learning all this.

Thanks in advance.

I have a feeling.. there will be a month or two of extreme pain so several people can get a large position.

I should have a large position of ...........err......... 6. Ha ha

A meal for $500! Wow, that is rough. Almost as rough as paying $250 a ticket to watch the leafs!

Of course I meant a meal for two including a bottle of decent wine.

As for the Leafs, luckily I'm not a big hockey fan. I consider hockey to be an OK half-time show between baseball seasons.

Fortunately, the Jays are a little less expensive. My seats behind home plate near the front of section 524a at SkyDome only cost $8.

OFF TOPIC

I live in the UK and went to Toronto with my wife in May and watched the blue jays against LA Angels. It was such good value I couldn't believe it!! Great city and loved the baseball (and beer).
1592  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins are you aiming to save up before Dec 31 2014? on: September 02, 2014, 08:23:00 PM
By that date I should have at least 7. I'd like 10 but I don't think it's realistic unless we see more of a drop.

Need to be careful....big tax bill in January and they won't except bitcoins so must not get too excited buying these coins!
1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Which will have the greatest effect on btc? on: August 31, 2014, 09:28:52 AM
Are we any closer to knowing when the ETF will go live? I've heard of this for a fairly long time now.
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin infrastructure questions on: August 23, 2014, 01:32:20 PM
Hi guys,

I have been looking at this forum for nearly a year now but just don't post usually.

My questions are:-

What bitcoin infrastructure needs to be built next for bitcoin to mature and be adopted by non tech savvy people?

How has bitcoin grown over 2014 and with regards to merchants accepting btc compared to 2013?

What is the next step for bitcoin? More merchants? Easier transactions or is security more of a priority?

I am just trying to put together everything I have been reading here for months on end and would like to know what is needed to be done to make the average folk understand the concept of bitcoin and get involved in it.
I try to talk to family and friends about it and I get the usual 'glazed' over look and the "oh right" feedback. I am pretty sure it's not the way I put it across to them, it's their sheep like attitude of following the crowd.

I think a lot of people don't think outside the box. More people need to be open minded in my opinion. It's very frustrating.

I am wondering what the turning point will be when people will eventually realise this is a very good thing and will be revolutionary to the way we live everyday life.

Thank you in advance.

Russell
1595  Other / Beginners & Help / Noob saying thanks on: June 19, 2014, 09:07:32 PM
Hi All,

I have been here a while lurking in the background but thought I'd finally put a post up saying thanks.

All your threads, posts, whether Bearish or Bullish as been interesting and I keep coming back to read up what I have missed during the day when I haven't been able to be here.

I am not a big player in the BitCoin community as I only have a few coins but I hope to have 10-15 bitcoins by the end of the year (Less if it rockets before I am ready!)

Again, thank you for all the information and I am excited to be involved in this and all it stands for.

Russell.
