Well that was an interesting last 12 hours.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 08, 2017, 09:20:49 AM

This price going up then china releasing some bullshit news to hammer it down cycle is laughable.
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 07, 2017, 01:31:15 PM
Looks like bitcoin might surge upwards.

$1337 target  Cool

I wonder how much of the price going up is the etf deadline. 1 out of 4 odds of passing imho.
Being a cautious buerucrat never gets your civil service gig in trouble, job wise.

Hope I'm dead wrong.

This price has to be due to the March 11th ETF decision and it'll rise until that date. I am slightly fearful of a soul destroying dump when/ if they do not approve the ETF.

Can they kick the can down the road any longer or does a decision HAVE to be made March 11th?
746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oh god, BTC might rise 25-50% this month! on: February 06, 2017, 08:42:55 PM
March the 11th is also my sons 2nd birthday. I am certain ETF will be approved and then at his little party I will be blissfully unaware of all these screaming little monsters running around.

i am not a techie. no IT guy at all. i came across bitcoin by means of a historic perspective. what strikes me most is the blatant ignorance of most of the IT guys that i talk about bitcoin. they always laugh. i mean those guys are professionals, the make their income because they figured out that digitization is a mega trend, but they refuse to see the elegance of bitcoin. how can this be?

They do see it. That laugh is a nervous one, that covers up a little bit of anger, and feelings of 'missing out'.

Hey, I am an ex-IT guy (changed career in 2009) and I am in! Granted though, it took me a while to start seeing the true disruptive potential of Bitcoin and the Blockchain. Started mining scrypt in 2013 just before the meteoric rise to ATH before jacking it in when the returns began to diminish drastically. Exchanged my LTC for BTC and have been accumulating and Hodling ever since.

You are still here before 99.99% of the population

I'd rather this pump stop now & consolidate in this range than unsustainably rise 8 then get dumped to shit like last time.

Slow & steady price rises are always better unless you're a day or margin trader.

I agree. I get uncomfortable now seeing big rises.

753  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only way to get rich is by riding the next big alt pump on: January 27, 2017, 11:48:27 PM
I think if bitcoin fails then a lot, if not all crypto will fail. It will tar all the others with the same brush. If the big daddy of a new form of currency fails after all the hype what chance does a less trusted and invested in coin stand?

Bitcoin needs to survive to help the other cryptos from the public's view.

754  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2017, 10:20:55 PM
It is the first time in two years that I really have no idea what to do.
The price should go down the next 1-2 months. Looking the 1w chart, or the order books, the result is the same: down. But it seems that the game is changing a lot with the new chinese exchange "self regulations".
And there is still a lot of buying pressure I don't know why. Maybe the halving effekt, or a lot of new bitcoiners, or that margin trading (=shorting bitcoin) largely has been killed.
So, I'm 90% long, but I want to short. But I don't want to lose my precious bitcoins, cuz I think, that maybe it'll go up! AAAAA  Shocked

Welcome to hodling. We are the less brave bunch.

25billion dollars a year get sent to mexico

finally the name of this thread is starting to get a real meaning.  Cheesy

Ha ha ha!! Love this!
756  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price climbing fast again on: January 26, 2017, 01:47:30 PM
I'm not getting excited until we break the ATH. (Even then it'll most likely drop to the $1000 area soon after)

These small up and downs are normal.
757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2017, 10:59:23 AM
looking the buy orders on Kraken i smell incoming panic buy i would say...

i keep looking the buy and sell orders for quite a long time now and if i am correct we will start upwards trend from today for long period of time (i not comment the up and down of ~20 euro)

looks to me that people start realize that with BTC they can change their future and i am happy about that.

May I ask why you think this will be for a long period of time?
758  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 25, 2017, 08:29:55 PM
Since this place is so quiet (except for the obvious JJG spam attack).

In my mind Bitcoin has passed the point of no return. Bitcoin is here to stay. It  does not matter anymore for what dollar amount per bitcoin you are currently buying: you should just hoard as many bitcoins as you can. Don't be cheap and try saving a few bucks, you might end up holding just dollars..

A year from now a single bitcoin <1000$ will be considered a bargain.

Well said, maybe it's best for me as hodler to not look at the price constantly and maybe forget about it for a year or two.
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump will crash the markets and bitcoin and gold will go to Jupiter on: January 25, 2017, 04:43:40 PM
If the economy is really screwed people will be more worried about surviving and being safe, and probably won't spare much to invest in brand new technologies like Bitcoin.

Also there is no reason to believe US economy will be hurt(maybe other countries' economy will), they even survived 8 years of Obama

Obama was more of a loved president for everyone. Trump on the other hand has lots of opposition and will not enjoy same favor. Being said that if US economy begins to fall, people will grab bitcoins as it is happening with china and india. This will increase more demand of bitcoins and more the price will be.

Has trump been put in place on purpose so when the crash happens he gets the blame?
