1481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you bullish or bearish right now? on: April 22, 2015, 07:01:23 PM
Bullish. I think a lot of money is waiting for the "for sure" time to get in. Either big news, or a continuous bull market.
I also think the price has artificially been pushed down to these levels so big players can accumulate more or buy in when ready. I think the scale at which things are going to expand are underestimated. There is not one person in the finance and investment world that doesn't have their eye on Bitcoin, once that rocket starts, EVERYONE will want that ride to not miss out on this time. It will be one hell of a ride.

I enjoyed reading this very much^^^

The longer it takes the more we accumulate.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in btc? on: April 22, 2015, 06:57:30 PM
What about short and mid term? What do you think, is BTC rebounding and will stabilize at ~250$ for a longer time, or is it a temporary relief before THE BIG drop like we had earlier this year to 160$? I'm beginning to think we will have a few more dives to ~200-210$ but no lower and after that BTC will stabilize at 250$ and be there until halving approaches or some very disruptive events occur. So I will buy at just above 200$, don't believe I get something better again...

As someone else has stated already, the price of most alt coins didn't change during their halvings.

I know Bitcoin is the daddy but why (apart from maybe a small pump near to that date) does everyone think the price will soar?

Not trolling here just interested in opinions.
1483  Economy / Speculation / Re: 11% of these ugly nerds like to pretend they haven't heard of Bitcoin on: April 21, 2015, 07:43:05 PM
NSA honeypot........Hmmmmmm It's always a worry
1484  Other / Off-topic / Re: If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do? on: April 21, 2015, 07:39:19 PM
...

Not long ago I bought my "Last Bitcoins" (well, weīll see).  From here on I will HODL them (except probably spend some on gold), in which case I would approximately replace the spent BTC by buying some more.  Gold and platinum are the ONLY things I buy with BTC.

I do like how many of you think BIG, even if it takes a while I too think that any of us would be happy to HODL most/all BTC at just $1000 with the hope of selling some at $5000, a few more at $10,000, some more at $50k...

Letīs hope some of us get to meet at The Happy Crypto Pub on Easy Street sometime.  First roundīs on me!

I'll be there! Pint of lager for me please! Just give me the address.

Cheers
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in 10 years..... on: April 21, 2015, 07:02:29 PM
I've seen similar sentiments back in 2013 when the price was around $70. People were predicting a continuing decline of the price back into the low double-digits, or even lower. With Bitcoin you really can't seem to postulate the bubbles and the heights it may achieve over time. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see $5000 in the coming years!

5000 USD would make a lot of us very comfortable.
I wouldn't be rich as such but it'd give us mortgage free lives etc.

No mortgage would be a dream for me. You said it all right there.
1486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom is in at $215 buying like crazy on: April 20, 2015, 09:44:26 PM
Where did you hear this?
1487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ERMIS (ERM) WALLET RELEASED |The Merchant Coin| Proof of Investment | on: April 20, 2015, 09:43:18 PM
If I had created a coin I would be on here day and night talking to people and engaging with people, getting ideas etc and building a community.

Lionheart what's going on?
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: April 19, 2015, 08:13:04 AM
Lets say I want to buy bitcoins today and store them for 20 years to use a my retirement fund.  Live comfortably, but don't need to buy a yacht or anything.  How many do you think I would need to buy?
Probably over a million but there is a slight chance 10-100 bitcoins would be enough.

So for arguments sake OP needs $1m to retire. You think Bitcoin will more than likely be $1 per coin??

I believe like a lot of people here it will either die and something else will eventually take its place or it will be the biggest shift in wealth we are ever likely to see and people will only be commonly talking about fractions or a Bitcoin as not many will hold a full Bitcoin.

It's 50/50 really IMO

1489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I import old wallet data file to new wallet on new laptop? on: April 18, 2015, 07:27:29 PM
Thanks! I'll try this later on!
1490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is Mass Bitcoin Adoption Still Not Happening? on: April 18, 2015, 07:47:27 AM
you need to remember life happened without bitcoin eg money transferred by the likes of western union.
sure the fees are less with bitcoin but have you ever tried to do all the set up ( wallets and the like)?. the average person will not go through that - they want any system to be as easy as current ones -  when my credit card expires a new one arrives in the mail - no effort required on my part.

some of the benefits of bitcoin eg anonymity do not matter to most people so its not a selling point for them also when you have exchanges falling over (mtgox) etc the risk is too high of participating. that is why there is so much interest in "normalization" that is to come with the the twins exchange etc.

so i think the best way to think about this is that bitcoin (or rather what else is needed to use it easily/safely) is not quite ready to be "mass adopted" by the average person.
it will be soon and then it will be widely used as the idea itself is wonderful. Smiley

^^^exactly this.

The whole thing is a pain in the ass. Wallets etc and my issue of putting my dat file onto new wallet (which still isn't working!!)

I am semi tech savvy but until there is a breakthrough and there is a simple idiot proof wallet it won't happen. Also it needs to be accepted more. At the moment my friend and family can't work out why use it? They use their card and that's simple for them.
1491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom is in at $215 buying like crazy on: April 18, 2015, 07:43:04 AM
If it drops into the one hundreds I will be buying them up like a madman.
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I import old wallet data file to new wallet on new laptop? on: April 18, 2015, 07:33:27 AM
I hope I haven't spent them! Unless Karpeles has broken in to my house and stolen my usb and knows my encryption key then I still have them.

Thanks guys
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I import old wallet data file to new wallet on new laptop? on: April 18, 2015, 06:51:45 AM
I have put the dat file on the new laptop and in the Bitcoin Apodata roaming file where the wallet dat file is located but as I said before it only shows 0.00.

Is there a link anyone can post on here? A step by step guide for an idiot like me?

Thanks.
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How do I import old wallet data file to new wallet on new laptop? on: April 17, 2015, 08:26:24 PM
Hi guys,

I have recently bought a new laptop and I have downloaded the Bitcoin wallet but cannot seem to figure out how to import the wallet data file to the new empty wallet on my new laptop.

I have tried moving the file into the data roaming file part of the Bitcoinqt and rescanning but still it says 0.00 btc. (I definitely have more than that!!)

Yes I admit I am no expert but I like to think I am not this stupid!! What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Russell

I've messaged 3 members of the ermis team and no reply yet.

Most haven't logged in for a week or so.

This isn't looking good fellow investors.

I/ we are awaiting the news and I am fearing the worst.

If it has gone belly up then at least tell us what went so wrong, we deserve this.

Lionheart?

1497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to admit bitcoin is a failure ! on: April 15, 2015, 07:43:28 PM
I don't mind if they have some good arguments against Bitcoin but random trolling just shows me this is a pathetic little man with no friends, hobbies or girlfriend.
