521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversifying my crypto. Which coin to research? on: June 01, 2017, 08:33:57 PM
How does that work if my bitcoins are on different paper wallets? Thanks.

it ain't very simple, but it is possible.

all those projects will probably ask you to sign a message and they'll give you the message to feed in via their wallets or websites.

i did it today using this guide - http://www.mocacinno.com/blog/how-to-sign-a-message-with-a-bip38-encrypted-paper-wallet/

basically download brainwallet.org from github, the link is in this article, go offline, feed your private key into the 'sign' section and leave it on the inputs.io section.

copy and paste the message it gives you back.

go back online and feed the message into the wallets and they will tell you if it's accepted.

obviously you might wanna do that with an air gapped computer or linux fireup.

You are a good guy ECB as I know who you are from the wall observer and I know the info you are saying is spot on and very good info but I am not that skilled and I'll probably fuck something up there. My Mrs doesn't even know my private keys and I'd guard them with my life.

I'd have sleepless nights thinking they are compromised.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversifying my crypto. Which coin to research? on: June 01, 2017, 08:27:21 PM
I recently decided that I was going to start a little "diversifying campaign" if you will. So after being around on Poloniex for nearly 2 years I have noticed that there is nearly no coins under 1 penny anymore. And more importantly, there are many coins that were below 100 satoshi that are now 4000+ satoshi. As I started my campaign, to my amazement, nearly all low priced alt coins started to climb. I got lucky and I had put 10$ into a few of them and made minor gains. But hey, small gains over long periods of time = big gains and that's what I am going for with this new idea. I never though we would see 500+ burst, or 300+ sc, or even 200+ bcn... all these blew my mind. So what I do now is, when I trade and make some decent gains (at least 50$+) I take 10$ and I invest it into some coin that is under 10k satoshi that I feel may have some promising months coming. In the long run I hope to see some big gains on some of these coins. Even if I get lucky on 1 coin it can cover many other purchases that didn't play out. At least that is my hope.

Do you keep all these coins on an exchange?? How do you hold them?
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversifying my crypto. Which coin to research? on: June 01, 2017, 07:59:17 PM
byteball, bitx and stellar this month will all have infinite profitability because they will cost you nothing by linking your bitcoin addresses.

i'd start there.

if you have say 100 bitcoins you get about 6.2gb of byteball this month. that's currently worth $3000 though it'll fall by then.

How does that work if my bitcoins are on different paper wallets? Thanks.

Held bitcoin for 4 years now and it's served me well.

Which crypto currency do you all recommend to make maximum profit over the next coming years?

What are your reasons?

I have to research fully before I invest.

I feel with most alts I have already "missed the boat" so to speak. Is this the case?

Thanks in advance.

526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Will the Bitcoin Price Hit $10,000 in 2014? on: May 31, 2017, 09:58:50 PM
Now it's 2017 but bitcoin prices have not reached $ 10,000.

Shit, thanks for the headline news there mate.
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bullish Bitcoin Media Center (The ONLY Bullish Bitcoin News Thread) on: May 31, 2017, 05:24:16 PM
Bitcoin could hit $100,000 in decade, says analyst who predicted current high  https://www.rt.com/business/390275-bitcoin-hundred-thousand-decade-expert/

Now that's what I'm talking about. Those kind of prices are a dream, a dream that I hope will become a reality. I think 10 years is possible but not before then.

I would be so rich it would be insane.

Although I've been here a while please don't be fooled by the hero status when it comes to mining, pools, hashrate etc.

Therefore can someone explain the increase in hashrate and what this means? Is it increasing security somehow or am I making this up?

What does it all mean?

I am a simple hodler.

I'm more of a PS4 guy than a PC guy if you get my drift.

I wish I could forget the bitcoin price and look in 5 years or so.

I don't trade so I don't need to look yet I check constantly.

I need help.
531  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if I buy 3BTC now and forget about them for 10 years??? on: May 30, 2017, 12:52:07 PM
Did anyone buy at $2100 yesterday? because price just hit $2290 and my jaws are on the floor, if you did buy 3 Bitcoins

At $2252 now you could sell only after 24-36 hours to earn pure $114, now tell me if that's not something extraordinary?

Where on earth you can invest less than $7000 and earn $114 in 24 hours later?

Yeah but that's the gamble. It could have dropped.

Also with bitcoin that's nothing!!! I have woken up with huge gains over night and then the next day half the gains gone. Not for the faint of heart.
532  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if I buy 3BTC now and forget about them for 10 years??? on: May 30, 2017, 09:27:18 AM
Do it.

Create a paper wallet and print 2 copies.

Put a copy in 2 fire proof safes in 2 locations. Maybe even buy a waterproof/ fireproof sleeve to seal it in.

Try and get on with your life and do not touch them.

These will be safe stored offline.

Go on bitaddress.org to get a paper wallet and make sure you wipe your history and have a printer that is offline when doing this. Share your private key with NO-ONE.

3btc may not be enough but who knows, it could be $100k per btc or far far less. Nobody knows what the price will be so invest and forget.
533  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 29, 2017, 09:59:17 PM
It depends on your attitude to Bitcoin. JimboToronto finds it relaxing, he just keeps buying the dips and hodling. Some of us go for days without sleep watching the charts, or set alarms to wake us up for big price movements. At the same time JimboToronto misses out a few whole days of even checking the price.

It also depends on when you got in. Mr. Toronto is a man with relaxation baked in due to his timing. He's already been vindicated. I'm sure newcomers will too eventually but if you're a relatively recent arrival you'll still be in the flitting stage.

If you move to the vindication stage then you start fretting about becoming worth too much and whether you should cash out. Then you start suspecting your cat of looking for your private keys. Then you finish up drooling while wearing a hockey helmet.

I've just had this whole issue creating new paper wallets. Cat in the room, curtains not drawn, Xbox in the room with a Kinect plugged in. I am pretty sure my neighbour was washing his pick up truck outside too.

May have to create more. I'm sure I heard his wife say the word key or something.
534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 29, 2017, 09:01:30 PM
It's not relaxing xD

If you want relaxing I think you arrived at least two decades too early. It's going to carry on flicking your earlobe until you go batty.

Earlobe flicking!! Ha ha. Excellent.

You never know my friend.

....and neither does anyone else here.

Of course can't nobody see in the future (I think) but this is a price speculation thread ...

I like to speculate who speculates.

Hi guys,

Thinking of getting a Trezor. What are the pros and cons with them?

Only ever used paper wallets before.

Thanks.

Coin market cap. The whole first page is green.

I don't think I've ever seen that.

I also don't think I'll ever understand how it all happens at the same time.

Pretty sure it was all geeen.

You´re all talking about england, i´m talking about small little friendly people, who welcome me, when i arrive.

Loompaland?

I'm fine in HODLand.
So kind of you, now more people can dump on you. Bubble popping. Time for a 1 year bearmarket from now on. Hardfork incoming because UASF will fail cuz it has not enough support. Look at ethereum, it had a 1 year bearmarket after it forked. Bitcoin will be no exception. Sell while you still can. Otherwise you can only blame yourself.

So you've gone from king of the bulls to now a bear?
