and my second question, could i simultaneously fill harddrives?
1tb? if i did 1-36000000.        and could on a different computer do 36000000-72000000 for my next 1tb?

at the same time for best time managment?

Can somebody please post working v2 config im getting seriously mad of this. Downloaded like 3 versions of clients edited tons of files as ppls reccomend in their tutorials and im still getting error messages from client and dont even have generated any file in Plot folder because I just have no idea how to generate any of that files. Wasted 20 hours and im still at start im so disappointed its not working for me.

if you would like to add my work skype I can help you... you can add my home one too, if you'd like.

work - jason.metamation

home - crowetic

Maybe someone should do a youtube videos how-to guide for Burst in general....

defiantly. i call my self a network tech and this has completely stupefied me. so is it not bad to stagger at 1000? someone said that its not as productive

In the beginning it stumped me too. I have a Cisco CCNA and formally a Civil Engineer major switched to Computer IT. I'm still trying to make a working compile of the Linux plot generator from dcct to compile to Windows, still have to work on the kernel (It's a beotch)....

should i expect it to take all day to fill 1tb? if i did 1-36000000.        and could on a different computer do 36000000-72000000 for my next 1tb?
edit: at the same time

i get that when i change the stagger size

I forget which error that is, either Xmx too high or stagger too high.  I ended up with 1000 for each and ran fine.

Try a stagger size of 2048 and Xmx at 1024.

A ratio of 2/1 with stagger size/Xmx ratio works best for me.

its working at that suggested args, i just was wanting it to generate as fast as possible. its barely using any ram.. how long would i expect it to write 200gb of plots?

it works fine at 1400 i dont understand why i cant go higher i get the VM error, i have 8gb of ram.... that particular error happens when i put the stagger above 3500

is it just different for everyones pc... find the max of both and thats what ill need to use?

so im starting with 1TB, should i do the plots in chunks of 80000? or what would the best be for filling the whole harddrive?

Multiple plots or one large plot, doesn't matter too much. Personally, I like run one single plot.

so i have a i5 quad core with 8gb ram

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate %* 14062819640288676663 1 80000 1000 2
pause

is this optimal for plot generation? im doing other things so using 4 threads hits my cpu at 100%.. it doesnt look like its using much ram at all though and its moving really slow

You can try a higher -Xmx number and higher stagger size until it gives a error, then lower it until it works fine. Maybe -Xmx and stagger size at 4191 or 2048.

If you plan to not use the PC for any intensive cpu applications, the 4 threads are fine. If it's your PC to do work or anything else, 3 threads would work better.

seems anything higher than 1000 for the ram will get the VM error, do you have to set it to a odd number or something?

EDIT Hello i keep getting the no valid shares to submit i was told after 15 minutes it would appear in the pool list, it never did a night of mining wasted. any ideas?    v2
now i cant solo mine it says passphras does not match reward receipient

does this look right for pool mining? its just sitting there not doing anything else

It shouldn't say that there is no share to submit to pool.  If you want to solo mine, delete the pool ip from the bat file
Everything else looks golden

When I was plotting I didnt always finish the plot so sometime the miner says

Error reading file

Does the miner use the nounces that are available or does it not use that file at all because it's not complete?

If it still mines with whats there I guess it doesnt matter.. if it just skips that file then I am wasting space

edit: exactly like the person above xD

It still uses the files, you're ok.

Also, just tested and simlinks work.

what is the pools wallet address? one of the steps is to put it for recepient im assuming so i can receive coin but i cant find the wallet adress to enter in the rewardassignment.html

BURST-8NZ9-X6AX-72BK-2KFM2

i enter my passphrase and copy and paste that wallet for recipient

and get this error  {"errorCode":5,"errorDescription":"Unknown account"}

What version is your wallet?

1.0.3 do i have to have 1 burst for it to work?

Oh. Yes, you do. Give me your address, I'll send you

cheers! BURST-Q4TR-YKRW-6RAN-EDBC8 you've been an amazing help, friend Cheesy

ok i renamed it, it was giving a deadline still

after i removed it from the same directory it still says "targetdeadline" 75000 and no valid shares to submit to the pool, am I missing something?

looked on the website and my # isnt on there. does it have to do with it not having shares to submit?

trying to pool mine.... this thing is freaking out.. i copied my address and passphrase and changed the IP..

i deleted plots folder and replaced it with a shortcut to the plots folder that is being built.. any ideas?

java -cp pocminer_pool.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer_pool.POCMiner mine http://127.0.0.1:8125 http://178.62.39.204:8121

i had my solo miner runnig i closed it and now it stopped freaking out... it says NO valid shares to submit to pool any ideas
