So my drives just showed up and I copied everything burst related ot he new drive (same account info etc) and started plotting and mining.  That works right?

yeah as long as you dont copy the plots.. gotta make new ones

I have a mining question!

I am currently mining on the Simple Burst Pool:
http://198.199.103.145:8121/

I have been mining for a couple hours now with about 150GB in plots.
It it normal to not have a share submitted in that time frame?

Yes, sometimes upto 8 hours i noticed on my small plot  Sad

Ok, ty... while I am scaling up I just wanted to make sure everything was ok.

you cant solo mine with that address you really shouldnt use that... use the numeric one from  your wallet

You can't use your numeric address from your wallet... I entered my BURST- address and was assigned a new numerical address.
From there, I created plots based on that address and started mining on the pool.

to each his own.. if this pool ever went down you would be screwed.. have to totally replot everything with your REAL number.. you cant use that number anywhere else..

"v1 pool, requries you generate plots for this pool only usable there"

With all these pool/wallet issues, I guess it's time to go back to solo mining.

Agreed. I did that earlier, running SOLO now.

how often can a dozen TB find a block ya think?

I'm not sure, probably one every day or two. There must be a formula to calculate that, but I'm not aware of it. Luck is the biggest factor.

if its honestly luck people say "oh 500GB will never find a block" but if time isnt in question its just luck really could find a block in a day .... or in a week just less chance than the bigger guys?

Every GB is a lotto ticket, the more tickets you have the more chances you have. That being said, 200GB might find a block in 3 hours while a 100TB plot might take 12 hours or a second. Eventually, everyone earns at least as much as they would in a pool, possibly more considering there is no fee to mine SOLO and the pools are lacking detail right now which to me means they are to be considered shady at best until they have more understandable stats.

Not knocking pool devs BTW, I know this is a whole new ball game and I'm sure proper stats will eventually be available.

Great insightful answer. Thats what i already thought, but its always nice to hear it from somebody else.

Reversed wallet transaction listings:
Simple error in the ui javascript. I noticed and fixed it in one location before release, but didn't realize it needed to be changed in multiple places. Optional fix will be only 1 or 2 line change, and won't change the backend at all. Will be released today.

Pools:
A lot of complaints were made about my v2 pool being slow today. This is likely related to downtime of uray's pool.
When uray's pool was down, the network hashrate was significantly lower than before, but it takes time for the difficulty to adjust.
Until the difficulty caught up, blocks would on average take longer than their normal 4 minute average.
At a higher amount of time/block, the pool gains funds more slowly.

Regarding theories that there was a problem due to the new wallet, neither of my pools have been updated to the new wallet yet, so that is impossible.

is the new wallet mandatory/when will it be? and is solo'ing on the old one still ok?

Thank you for announcement.

Can somebody tell me why I'm recieving around half the coins that I should be taking a high average of 3500TB network over 24 hours on the devs v2 pool?

Everyday its a good 2000 coins short. Been measuring the expected vs the actual payout for each 24 hour period.

Pretty poor, especially with the frequent drops into sub 2500TB territory.

Also - both miners now throw an occassional error of 'Error getting mining info from wallet' - literally nothing has changed in 5 days of otherwise correct mining.

you me and everybody else

how difficulty is solo mining, is there any one here that isnt in a pool?  how many TB/Blocks/Days?

Finally got 500 coins after 6 hours...

this cant be difficulty it has to be another problem.. you would see less and less coins showing up in balance over the period of time.. not just NO coins for a very long time...  right?

http://178.62.39.204:8121/shares
i hope dev can come online today and explain what these share counters actually mean

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 27 1.0%

edit.. theres someone on there with almost 300 shares... are these outstanding payments?

nope DEV said somewhere on here that that miner has almost 15% of the hashpower of his pool.

If you think about it, that miner could be the cause of everything. If he has such amount of space he takes the largest payout of the block that the pool found, and we take much much less.
Thats why the payouts became so spread apart. He is making 1500 BURST per block...

But... looking at his transactions, payouts stopped for him also... So this is a general problem
http://burst.cryptoport.io/acc/2715798095717378439

how did payouts stop for him hes been getting them last one was three minutes ago and a hours before that...

At the time I posted the last payout was 5 hours ago. Now he has 2 more, one is 16 minutes ago the other 8. Things are looking bad for everybody.

not him though in comparison he still getting the bulk of all the blocks i/and others not getting any.
