You would be ok with international shipping? I have in mind Canada - Labrador or Toronto to be more specific.
Yes I am open to international shipping.

- Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 40 °C
Operating Temp is really low 40C? Other miners as well as bitmain units operated up to 60C. That is only 104F or so. Hope you got air conditioning or live in a northern region.

When you get down to the core of Bitcoin it is mainly just the miners and the node operators, in most cases these are the same people. Only two things are really required for the blockchain to exist and bitcoins to be generated and secured, and that is full nodes and miners. As these are the people that basically run the network for everyone one else, why do you think giving them the ability to adjust block size is too much power?
Its not like you are giving the decision to one person or company, it will be many many companies/people.
because these companies/people might all decided to team up and harm bitcoin by lowering the limit so they can incress the fees. because obviously they would make more money if bticoin was <1TPS with 1$ fee pre TX. lol this agreement is invalid.... They can do this now. If every mining pool in the world decided not to accept any fees under .1 BTC per Kb this would be the same thing. Transaction fees are meant to rise at the halvings but only slightly, but just as now miners would never agree to something like a crazy price for transactions. Keep in mind that miners want more people to use bitcoin, your are paying them to process your transactions. So decisions that would force people to make less transactions or not use bitcoin is also bad for the miners.

I would have considered your option but I am looking to setup something of my own.
While I always encourage people to mine, the idea of building your own hashing center combined with the questions you are asking is not a good combination. This adventure will likely mistakes that will cost you your profits. I would recommend you go with hosting or talk to people in your area and visit functional profitable mines to understand all the mechanics, so you can eventually build your own mine. Also, you can't set up your own data centre for 50-60kW. The upfront costs are prohibitive for such a small operation. Even having someone there to reboot/fix machines doesn't make any sense. Good luck!
While I will agree a small data center does not make sense cost wise, a small hashing center can be done on small scale if one knows what they are doing. There is a big difference between the two.

With honey, ants love honey. Since you are running S1's I assume you do not care about efficiency. So I would score up the older non-80PLUS PSUs since these will be cheaper then newer ones. A stock S1 will use about 370W so you can get a 1200W and power 3 of them with one PSU or get the J4bberwock 2880W setup and run 7 of them off one PSU.

I have so many of these units, but I am in the USA.

Hmm from that auction says the seller is located in Houston, TX.
I would buy a few from him and pickup if he is interested.

How would you verify people are using the sidehack stick?
They could just underclock other miners to be around the same Gh/sec.
|
|
|
Your best bet is to sell it for $50 and try to get a couple S1 and under clock them to 150Gh each or so. If you are trying to make a profit even then might not due to age of equipment.
But either way welcome to mining and $50 even though it will not make you money good experience and fun with BTC mining.
