They are bad miners from what I hear. They are CRAZY LOUD and BURST into flames. And also not that much efficient from what we already have out there.
I thought that was one of the things they fixed in 2.0? I know the 1.0s were bad; loud, fires, chips not hashing etc. Like I said I never owned one so I am asking, if the 2.0s are in the same boat as the 1.0s? I thought all the bad items were fixed with the miners in version 2.0

I haven't read the details on the prisma 2.0 anyone have a link to all the specs and price?
From my understanding same specs as the first Prisma, they just fixed the circuitry and software problems. Also added shield to the boards for protection and stacking. Other then that I believe efficiency and all the rest is still the same. From what I heard reliability is increased considerably, but I never owned one. What do you mean by shields? Like a case or an electric magnetic shield? Black metal shields over the boards that used to be bare. The used to look like this. Now they look like this in 2.0

I have more then 10 BTC and I replied yes.
As a network security engineer, I know there are bad ones out there. Any company could easily have a bad one and a bad security engineer at a Bitcoin exchange/storage and you will be hacked. Even companies with good security engineers get hacked it is a race against time.
I would only trust a company with my private keys, if they were audited by a 3rd party company for security and also insured by a large 3rd party insurance company. Even then it would be awhile before I trust them with a large amount of BTC.

Looks nice so far. What price range are you looking to sell these at?

Probably if you got the cash to make them deal with you.
ASICMiner, Avalon, Bitfury, Bitmain, Spondoolies, and if your daring KNC
I'm not sure on ASICMiner if they are if you keep up reading stuff about them in last month. I am aware what happened about AMHash, but I wasn't sure if that effected the hardware sales. Since FC was the chip designer and they already have the previous version of the chip in hand and other people handled hardware sales. Maybe ASICMiner should go next to KNC if your daring.

Hello,
I have some miners to repair: Bitmine Desk's that need PCI-E 6 pin power connectors replaced, S2 hashing boards that need capacitors replaced, S1's that need resistors replaced, etc.
Where is a good place to buy electronic components from? look for a decent price on low quantities as well as MOQs of 100-500.
Please do not say digikey or mouser, I know both of them and they are a little pricey.
Thanks, MC

What exactly counts as a home miner? Someone mining at home with residential electricity?
|
|
|
What is the best way to overheat the miner to check if it will shut down at 80C?
Put something infront of the front fan?
disconnecting the fan, is probably easier Stick it in a small closet with no ventilation. It will slowly overheat itself.
