401  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Struggles of Advcash, there is Epayments as a good alternative (mastercard) on: February 02, 2018, 07:13:43 AM
Kindly note that you can accept payments in cryptocurrency only for provided services (for example, mining).

The card is useless if they restrict payments to services such as mining only. The majority of bitcoin users have their own private btc assets and most receive and send coins for personal purposes. Not everyone is a miner which is probably the card's target clientele.

I guess the service-related restrictions are a compliance requirement. Knowing not just the customer but also where the funds come from. Things like that.

Even if I had a mining operation, I wouldn't subscribe to this card. Seems complicated and risky having to carefully justify and explain inward crypto payments to them. That 30-minute address life won't cut it. Puts one under pressure. Stressing out a client is never a good customer retention approach.
402  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cannot order Payeer plastic card on: February 02, 2018, 06:52:00 AM
Only a few cards still support the cryptocurrency market.

EEA residents: Mistertango and Revolut
Non-EEA residents: WageCan

All other cards seem to be dead.

I was wondering about Bitstamp's debit card. I see it listed on their fee schedule:

https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/

Is it an active feature or is it just as dead as Wave Crest?
403  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB $1000 ETH for PayPal on: February 02, 2018, 03:55:22 AM
Are you saying you want PayPal for your ETH $1000? Or do you want ETH and will pay with PayPal?

If it’s ETH you need, PayPal is a reversible payment method which means nobody will do trade with you unless you want to wait 180 days which is when the chargeback deadline ends.

If it’s PayPal you need, be careful with offers from zero-trust members. Escrow can’t protect you recover your coins if a scammer disputes and reversed the payment.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Have Ethereum Need Skrill on: February 02, 2018, 01:07:32 AM
Keep in mind that Skrill is a reversible payment method. Their reversal policies are similar to PayPal's dispute and chargeback rules.

When you offer coins for a reversible payment method, you generate the kind of response above (and probably a ton of PM). That's because transactions which put you in a vulnerable position are the kind of topics scammers love.

Good luck with this trade. Be on your toes when trading your ETH. And remember, escrow cannot protect you if Skrill funds are later reversed.
405  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking for online bank account with credit card and certain properties on: February 02, 2018, 12:56:34 AM
If you live in the EEA (which Switzerland unfortunately isn't a part of) you can apply for an IBAN account here:

https://mistertango.com/en/

They have an app which shows card transactions in real time.

The IBAN account allows SEPA and SWIFT transfers and it comes with a MasterCard debit card.

Bitcoin is supported. The account is linked to a dedicated BTC address. Any bitcoins sent to that address are traded and converted automatically at this exchange:

http://btc-exchange.com/

They have an ANN thread here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1972805.0

Switzerland has a good prepaid card system one of which is Cornèrcard but none of them supports cryptocurrencies.
406  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal Scam - Law suit against paypal - Paypal Mafia - Ebay trading on: February 01, 2018, 07:06:03 PM
If currency exchange is a prohibited transaction per their policy, then you can forget about a lawsuit. Suing them is not just about potentially winning or paying your lawyer's fees. It's also about potentially losing and paying PayPal's legal team's fees AND any reputational damages PayPal might demand.

And now that I know they have this arbitration clause, they basically closed every loophole for those wanting to sue them en masse. These corporate giants are protected by all those fine print you agreed with when you signed up. Just like banks and governments.
407  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Japanese Chat App LINE To Open Crypto Exchange.. on: February 01, 2018, 06:52:58 PM
I think they overstate their own user numbers. I could be wrong, but Japan has only ~125M inhabitants
and Japanese is not an official language in any other country on earth as far as I know. How did they
manage to get 200M active users when there probably aren´t even that many people on earth, who speak
Japanese? Or is the LINE app popular in other countries with different languages as well?

Apart from Japan, Line is a popular app in countries such as Thailand and Taiwan. Much more popular in fact than Messenger, WhatsApp and WeChat. It is also used heavily in CIS member countries.

408  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] Free EU bank accounts that you can be opened directly online on: February 01, 2018, 06:41:10 PM
I come across this service that I didn't know until now, TrustPay.eu Did someone hear about this company old from 2009? It's located in Slovakia and is EU licensed and regulated
We get a dedicated IBAN EUR denominated SEPA accounts (with different currencies from what I understand) and a prepaid cards as well corporate account

I think they are acquirers or a company offering card acquiring services for private and commercial merchants who want to be paid by credit card. They offer eCommerce solutions so basically they are a payment processor with acquiring services in those 43 EEA countries listed on their site.

They have a BIC code so they are probably a licensed bank or financial services provider in Slovakia. Their FAQs say you can't deposit cash which would mean they offer direct banking services of the branchless type.

I'm sure they have limits and restrictions too. So many "no you can't do this or that" answers on their FAQs.

Edit.. yes, I just found what I was looking for all along:

What is a TrustPay Prepaid MasterCard card?
TrustPay Prepaid MasterCard card is a commercial prepaid card, i.e. it can only be used by TrustPay´s corporate clients. The card is denominated in EUR.

which means individuals can't apply. They are only available if you have a corporate account with them and I'm sure they have a long list of requirements for those, being in an EU country.
409  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I have Paypal ---> I Want BTC on: February 01, 2018, 06:30:17 PM
No chance of converting your PayPal to BTC here with an untrusted account. PayPal is a reversible payment method and you can do that up to 180 days.

I suggest you trade your PayPal funds with a family member or friend. They give you cash and you use that cash to buy bitcoin. There are safer and non-reversible payment methods which are much more preferred here. And escrow.. don't forget to use a trusted escrow here.

Nobody will send coins first, just to let you know in advance.
410  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 2 BTC Loan, Can Payback within 2-3 Days on: February 01, 2018, 06:23:16 PM
I have a plan by bitcoin will used by people frequently and efficiently. Does any one help with investment ...

Nobody can help you with your investment plan unless you can provide enough collateral.

Just like the above conversation, you have the same options and you should choose one of those too.

If you do have collateral, you should start your own thread and discuss your loan request with lenders.
411  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash | a new "anonymous" bitcoin debit card [EUR & USD] on: February 01, 2018, 01:27:23 AM
Mistertango cards are now only available for residents of the EU or EEA. From Feb 1st cardholders who reside outside Europe will no longer have valid cards but their Mistertango accounts will remain active for SEPA and SWIFT transfers.

Wirecard is a reputable and reliable payment processor. They are a leading financial services provider with a portfolio of prepaid products and services spanning the globe. Billion $ corporations rely on them for managing their payroll systems so you can sleep soundly knowing the card is a solid one. The weak point is the companies or exchanges Wirecard provides cards to. If that company's liquidity or solvency is shaky or if their compliance standards are poorly graded, then that's when you must worry.

412  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed 0.52ETH - $570 / Scammer: Bradock on: February 01, 2018, 01:12:40 AM
I've learned this lesson. Next time I do business with strangers, I'll not send any payment until the work is completed or I'll do escrow with very trusted members

If you go through my posts over the years, this is exactly what I keep reminding members here to do, hoping it might prevent them from being scammed.

Use a trusted escrow for all transactions with strangers. If escrow is refused, you have your first red flag which should be an indicator of the deal potentially going south. Scammers hate escrow. They know they can't steal if a middle man holds the coins.

Refusing the 3k offer was a good move. It's a scam within a scam.
413  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal Scam - Law suit against paypal - Paypal Mafia - Ebay trading on: January 31, 2018, 11:51:17 AM
Unfortunately fighting this payment giant will not be easy. That's the bad news served hot and sizzling. PayPal has had it's fair share of lawsuits since their early years of inception and operation. If you google PayPal lawsuits, you are not alone on this planet with all that anger and frustration boiling over. Complaining is futile. They have an escalation process that outranks those of other rogue payment processors. They escalate complaints from supervisor to supervisor until your hair turns white and starts falling off.

They have the government's blessings to shut down accounts arbitrarily. Fighting their decision will take time and effort. And probably money too. Most lawyers will not take up a pro bono case unless there is a reasonably high chance of winning. US courts would be the best venue for suing them. Be prepared to defend your case vigorously, knowing they might invoke the fraud defense tactic and paint you as a money launderer or fraudster. PayPal's lawyers are paid to do things like that.

Good luck. You will need it.
414  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a $500 PayPal loan for 3-6 months. $700 BTC collateral on: January 31, 2018, 11:24:28 AM
But 1% of $500 is only $5. Is this the total interest you are offering for 3 to 6 months? It's a bit low, agree? The cam session, love and respect are not that in demand here. Lenders are more into the monetary returns for the coins they lend.

1% per week might sound more reasonable. Compounding it might even make it more attractive lol  Wink

415  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying btc on: January 31, 2018, 06:50:48 AM
Escrow is useless and powerless when you pay for the coins by PayPal. That’s because you can dispute and reverse the PayPal payment AFTER you get the coins. And you can do that up to 180 days which is a generous time window to think about reversing or not (and that much time too for the coin seller to nervously hope you won’t do it).

Granted you might have genuine and honest intentions, the risk of being scammed is hard to ignore. Safer irreversible payment methods and using a trusted escrow all help build credibility.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I used to own 10,000 bitcoin... here is how I lost it all. on: January 31, 2018, 06:22:04 AM
I do not want to read this because it makes for painful reading and yet I couldn’t help it. Opened the thread and read your story. Made me depressed. I have to shift my thoughts to something else quickly.

I myself used to have 600+ bitcoins back in 2013 and I was happily trading them in the $100 range. Then something crazy happened. Authorities seized Liberty Reserve and I quickly dumped and sold all my coins on Bitstamp, thinking the price might dive and I might end up having worthless coins.

When I look back and think of what might or could have happened if I simply cold-stored them with a bullish belief in what the future might hold, I just shake my head in sadness.

10k coins. You could have retired young.
417  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: E-armor.me - automatic e-currency exchange online( Neteller, BTC, ADV, PM) on: January 31, 2018, 06:05:04 AM
I can’t find the escrow button on your site linking transactions to trusted escrow members here. Can you show me where it is? I can’t find it.

When I try to do a transaction it tells me to send the coins upfront to you. It doesn’t show any escrow member’s profile page here for the escrowing process. Where is it?

How does automatic e-currency exchanging work if the trusted escrow is not active or offline?

I know I’m asking redundant questions but I want to see how they will be answered here. I’m already expecting you to say nah we don’t accept escrow of any kind in which case I will post again with a cautionary advice for anyone who might naively try to send coins first without escrow protection.
418  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: ★Apple Gold Shop ★Buying Bitcoin ★Instant Payment★ on: January 31, 2018, 05:53:14 AM
Nope, all those colors and blinding fonts will not distract from using escrow when transacting with a new and untrusted member like you.

PayPal is reversible up to 180 days. You can use all that red, blue, green and other colors to make your post look impressive and genuine but it won’t change a thing. PayPal payments are disputable and reversible. Escrow can’t protect anyone selling coins to you if you use PayPal to pay for those coins. Skrill is also risky.

Western Union might work if you use cash to send the money and not the online WU version. Escrow is very much mandatory. It seems you refused it, going by someone’s post above.

Transact with caution, guys.
419  Economy / Lending / Re: seeking .043 btc investment for poker bankroll on: January 31, 2018, 01:28:11 AM
Lend money to a gambler and count on never seeing the money returned.

Gambling is never a surefire source of income so essentially there is no reliable and verifiable assurance of loaned money being repaid. When you loan money or coins to anyone who gambles, this involves risking those coins or money on uncertain events driven by chance. And when you run a lending business, you do not want to put your hopes on chance or uncertainty. Doing so would be inviting the lender to gamble too.

Have a look at how pawnshops work (which is a form of lending since they require something pawned which would be the collateral). None of them take chances too. They check and doubelcheck, assay gold and test all gems for authenticity and refuse just about anything if they have even the slightest doubt.

Collateral-based lending is the only safe way to lend to strangers. Gamblers or otherwise.
420  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mistertango.com - Lithuania - IBAN bank account EUR - Bitcoin friendly on: January 31, 2018, 01:04:41 AM
And goodbye to this card too..

Dear Mistertango users,

We have some really bad news for you...
Due to the new regulations of "Mastercard" we can't issue card services for clients located outside Europe.
From the 2018-02-01 all "Mistertango" issued cards for non-EU clients will be disabled.
We are working hard to find new worldwide solution as fast as possible.
You will be still able to use your "Mistertango" account to receive and send SEPA and SWIFT transfers.

We are really sorry about this issue!

Sincerely,
Mistertango

On the positive side, they still allow SEPA and SWIFT transfers which means I can still load the account with coins and transfer Euros to my other accounts.
