How about creating an 256bt encrypted self extracting file with 7z with a 24character alpha-numeric pass. Renaming the file whatever you want then seding it some where...

should be fairly secure no?
443  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~450 Gh/s Mining Pool] INSTANT PAYOUT,+1% with LP! +0.8% for no failed blocks! on: May 10, 2011, 06:10:26 AM
Sometimes the round ends before you have a chance to submit a share, that's why you see "None." This happens more on shorter rounds.

rr not the case. It shows I clearly submitted shares.

If I remember right, it still has fees, but they're payable by the sender.. right?

no fee for personal unless it is out of country.

So I am still using 1.3 on one of my machines since Its complicated to access the desktop right now. Am I missing out on anything (aside from the fastloop fix) on the newer versions?

Could someone explain me why i have those "none"s in my statistic page even i use proportional? Miner is on ATM 24/7 and no communacition problems according to log?
What is your hashrate ?
Are those "None"s mostly on the shortest blocks ?

Ive gotten 4 or 5 of these. Really short blocks and I put in a significant amount of shares compared to the overall. like 75 to 400 and I get none. This is not regular but has happened like 4 or 5 times that I've noticed.
451  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Opportunity costs of used vs new video cards? on: May 08, 2011, 03:45:42 AM
You might as well wait a little more because when everyone is selling, it will be so much cheaper to buy.

Then diff will drop!
452  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Opportunity costs of used vs new video cards? on: May 05, 2011, 04:28:07 PM
With all the buzz lately over the increase in difficulty and people expanding their mining setups, everyone seems to be recommending still that everyone buy USED video cards on ebay for cheap rather than buying NEW cards.  My question for everyone is do you really think this is the best idea?  Right now at 2.5GH/s I'm pulling in around 20-25 BTC a day on deepbit, and given the current exchange rate of BTC to USD, I'm starting to doubt the need to buy used video cards.  Buying cards on ebay means waiting and often losing, and that's time I could be mining.  Also, if I buy a used card towards the end of its warranty of past it that fails, I may just be out of that cost rather than having the ability to RMA the card.

Anyways, thoughts?  Opinions?

Thanks

well neweggs out of 5850's so... But if you can find a card your looking for new at a good price then pull the trigger man.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: questioning BTCs on: May 05, 2011, 04:44:54 AM
peg the bitcoin price to the 24 hour weighted average from MtGox, and have a script update the price once each night.

^^^
He is right there IS already a a widget. Here it is.

say for example your product is worth $10 usd. Use this widget like this

you can use that address to generate an image.

the result will be compared to mtgox current price and look like this:

here is the link to the script.

http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6415.0

Would be nice to tie the price to the 7 day average though to keep it fairly steady.

455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attack of the miners on: May 02, 2011, 05:17:59 PM

Also there should be a limit to the amount of Ghash an individual can generate, otherwise it kinda proves your in it for the money, not for the ideals and beliefs.

Whats wrong with being in it just for the money?

459  Economy / Economics / Re: Why governments like inflationary currency on: April 29, 2011, 01:11:54 AM
... and they get to spend the new money too! ;-)

And when they spend the newly created money they get the full value of it. As it trickles through the economy the rest of the users do not.
460  Economy / Economics / Re: A modest amount of inflation should be part of bitcoin on: April 29, 2011, 12:51:18 AM
HELOOOO...

Bitcoin is divisible to 8 decimal places. EIGHT! Its a digital currency, you don't have to break it on a rock to divide it. Deflation is irrelevant.

bills of 0.000000000000001 dolars can be printed too. So I guess deflation is not a problem for national currencies neither.

I'd like to see you, the user divide a penny. Lets see it.
